My husband and my niece together with my daughter went to one of your location here in 192 kissimmee, florida. They ordered burger and fries and milkshake. They got the burger and fries except the milkshake. They waited for the milkshake but after an hour and a half the milkshake has not been made. My niece went up to the server and ask for refund for the milkshake but she was ignored. Then my husband ask for a manager but he was also ignored. My husband got upset and they were even told that there was no milkshake that was ordered. My husband lost his temper because of this matter. They waited an hour and a half just for one milkshake. They understand that the site was busy and short of staff but it is very unacceptable that they have to wait a long time and that they still have to argue with my husband and gave him hard time before he got the refund. This is very disappointing. Such very poor customer service and poor management. The manager did not urgently solve this matter instead he ignored my husband twice when my husband tried to talk to her. You guys need to fix this site. If it happened to us, it may happened to another customer and another and another. This incident happened on march24 around 10:30 pm

We were in a little hurry because we were going to a 7:00 movie and decided to go to steak and shake for a burger. The theater was 1 minute away so I didn't think there'd be an issue with time.

We arrived at the restaurant at approximately 6:05. Weather was bad outside but there were around 6-7 tables with people there and what looked like two servers. We stood at the "wait to be seated sign" for a couple of minutes then I asked the male server if anybody was seating people. He said he would be right with us. That was another minute. No acknowledgement of being shorthanded or any other explanation and no apology for making us wait.

He finally took us to a table and said our server would be right with us. That was at 6:11. We sat there until 6:19 with no one acknowledging us, no drinks, nothing. Because we had a time issue, we left and went to mcdonald's. We preferred your food but the service was beyond terrible. We have had other similar service issues at this same location before.

We waited almost 60 minutes to order our food and receive it in the drive through. Completely unacceptable! We wanted to get steak and shake for the kids this weekend and can't believe I had to deal with that . I've never had this problem at any other location. I'd like to know what you can do for me
For having to go through this with two screaming kids in the back seat while trying to be patient waiting on getting FAST FOOD!

I went to the Gilbert St location and ordered 2 mushroom and swiss meals. The sandwiches were HORRIBLE! The buns were burnt, the top of it looked like it was microwaved to heat it up, as well as the condition of the cheese. The mushrooms were so salty I couldn't eat them as well as covered in pepper and in a glob on the bottom bun. We feed it to the dog and the dog got sick! This is unacceptable! Gaining more and more all the time! At BOTH locations!

I always have poor experiences with the Macedonia, Ohio Steak ‘n Shake, but last night was awful. After ordering, and paying for two tender meals and two cheeseburger meals, we were told to pull up and wait, which is understandable considering it was a lot of food. After 30 minutes though of waiting we were starting to get annoyed. We waited so long to the point my friend had to go in and ask what was going on! By the time our food was home (five minutes away) it was freezing cold and we had to microwave it. You would think after waiting so long it would atleast be hot? On top of that, they only gave us 2 of the 4 fries we ordered, and the burger buns were cold and soggy from the ketchup and mustard all over the bottom of it. I love Steak ‘n Shake but this is unacceptable.

I live pretty much across the street from the steak n shake on 60 and miller in valrico fl. I come here maybe 3 times a week. Honestly only because they're the closest thing open late. For months I have come here time and time again. Just to be disappointed most of the time. Drive thru either takes 30 mins, or the food is made very poorly. Often it's both. Example, i'm in the drive thru now. I've had time to get upset, look up this complaint page, and type all of this. Its ridiculous every time. This is the last. (still no food)

I went to steak and shake tonight and I was going to go through the drive-thru but there was a line wrapped around the building. I decided to go inside to get my milkshake. I waited 30 minutes for a milkshake. I think that is totally ridiculous, especially when there were several waitresses standing around not doing anything but talking. When I was leaving I noticed several of the same cars still waiting in line through the drive-thru. I eat at steak and shake several times a week, but after this incident i'm not sure I will be going back.

I went to steak n shake Kennedy Heights/Oakley on Friday March 23rd at 3:34 AM and they were closed. I really needed a burger from your establishment to honestly counter alcohol. I was counting on you being open 24 hours like always and went out of my way to spend money only to discover the window had a cardboard box with crazy hours I've never seen a steak n shake have in my life. I am very disappointed that the one location I decided to visit out of my way was closed for no reason.

My friends and I entered the Jackson, Tennessee, Steak ‘n Shake at 9:00 PM on Thursday, March 22. As we entered, there was a group of employees standing at the counter talking to their friends. One of the workers behind the counter was repeatedly saying "go home." A young man sitting on the stools said "we're closed right now." Once we were seated, it took 15 minutes for someone to come to our table.

Last Saturday I attended to Steak N Shake, and I asked her how she was doing, she called me a b[censor], told me to get out of her face, I will never come back here ever again. Rude staff members, all we ever hear back is "yeah, we'll have a talk with her". I am posting this on Facebook, hoping it goes famous because you let these stores keep people like this around. On wed. March 21 2018 I looked up your location and the closest one was open 24hrs. I pull up to the drive threw at 1130 pm and was not asked my order so I park my car in the lot and walk to the door to find out the location was closed at 11pm. I was very disappointed, so I look up another location still attempting to eat and your restaurant I call two times and no answer this led me to believe another location advertised to be open 24 hours was also closed. Steak and shake is one of my favorite places to eat and I had to settle for wendy's

Okay so me and my family were dining at the muncie steak ‘n shake and our server was the worst server that I have ever had at that restaurant she had a pin button on her apron and a little boy in the next booth from asked her what the pin was for, she looked at him and told him that she was in drug court and had to wear it then she explains why she is in drug rehab and in drug court and she is saying this to the little 10-year-old boy that shouldn't be said to a young child like that and she saying it to the whole dang restaurant then we order food and she brings out the food and my sister had an order of fries and when she went to grab them all for a tray some of them hit her tray so she grabs him with her bare hands and put some back on the plate and served it to my sister we look at her and we tell her that we can't eat this she takes it back and then bring back a fresh play we then asked annette another server to get us drinks because the our waitress decided to just leave in the middle of her shift and passes onto the next server without telling us. We did report it to the manager that was there that day and he said that he was going to take care of it but it just makes us mad that we had to have a server that was so terrible at her job we love going to steak and shake and it is our favorite restaurant and after seeing this and after experiencing this we have really changed our look on the whole chain of restaurants it just makes us sick.

I went at 11:15 pm and ordered a barbaque burger and shake. I was then told that they closed the shake and ice cream machine already for the night. The employee then informed me that they had closed all the beverages already for the night when I tried to order anything at all. Keep in mind they are open 24 hours. My burger that I then received didn't have any of the correct toppings, it was a bun and a patty with a squirt of sauce... I have been a very loyal customer for years and never have I received this poor of service. The employees didn't take the extra minute to even make sure my burger had the correct toppings on it.

Tuesday, march 20 about 6:30 pm

I left a $20 tip on a $20 bill at steak n' shake on university in peoria tonight...
• waited about 10 minutes to be seated when 1/2 the tables were empty.
• bathroom was gross
• people in line with us left because they waited too long
• people at tables looked bored or pissed.
• waited another 10 min to pay for the manager to break away from his food and chew
So why did I tip $20 you ask?!?!
One waitress named sue. She was well over 60, had white hair in a bun, and she was spinning circles doing every job short of cooking by herself while all the younger workers did nothing. She was seating, serving, busing tables, and entering orders for at least 15 tables without missing a step. The only other one in that place doing anything was the guy flipping burgers. Total disgrace!
I've grown up eating steak n shake. All of the locations in this area have gone downhill. But this was horrible! It took all I had to not get up any tell the other young 20 somethings to get their butts out and help. The waitress we had and the cook are the only ones there this night that should have been getting paid!

I went to this store in collinsville il... And waited 5 minutes at the drive thru speaker for someone to take my order, I got asked to repeat my order after saying it for times and the person on the other side saying okay. Asked me what shakes I wanted and got them wrong 3 times after me telling them which ones I wanted. I got to the window and they upchared me for a totally different shake I didn't even want. Even after I made sure they got the right shake. I called we spoke to a manger she said I could come back and get it replaced so I went up there to get my shake re done. Waited another 5 minutes at the drive they speaker before someone took my order and when I got to the window nobody came to talk to me for 3 minutes. And after I got my shake I pulled around to make sure it was right and it was wrong yet another time. I got a vanilla reece's peanut butter cup shake and it was supposed to be chocolate ice cream with reece's cup in it like the sign says and the picture but it was still wrong.

I reside in St. Louis, MO and the store located at Germania and Hampton is awful. I visited there on Saturday March 17 and waited in the drive thru forever. I confirmed my order 2x and they still messed it up. I then went back the next morning to sit and kill an hour while my children were at Sunday School. I walked in and stood there for 5 minutes before someone even acknowledged me. After I was seated it took the waitress 10 minutes to come over and take my order. She scribbled it down on my kids menu and then it took over a half an hour to get my food. They were not overly busy either. No apology for the long wait. I then went to leave and found my waitress outside in her car smoking and playing on her phone. Guarantee other people were inside waiting on her. Will never go to that store again.

I attempted to take my family to the Steak N Shake last night, (Sunday March 18th, 2018 at approximately 6pm) at the 12163 S Apopka - Vineland Rd Orlando FL 32836. Upon entering I should have known this was going to be an unpleasant experience. The floors were filthy with dirt and grime stuck to the white tiles causing it to be black. Then we stood in line waiting to be seated as the sign instructs but no one came to us. I noticed a large group of employees who appeared to be servers in the back huddled up past the cooktops. They appeared to be in no hurry and were just telling jokes and laughing. I noticed a lady at the counter asking about her order and then the employee walked away to check. The customer appeared upset as if she had been waiting much longer than needed due to her facial expression and shaking her head. Once we finally were seated (the restaurant was half empty so it wasn't like they were busy). I noticed empty tables that had not been cleaned even though the group remained congregated in the kitchen. We sat at our table and waited for over 10 minutes and no one had even asked what we would like to drink. I heard another family ask a server who walk by us if she was their server? That family had been sitting at the table before us so I knew at that moment it was going to take forever for us. That is when I knew it was time to take my family and my business elsewhere.

It should be noted that some of the employee's... especially the servers, appeared to have no clue and no care of customer service or a professional appearance. Some of them had their pants hanging down, showing half of their buttocks, as if they were back on the block with their friends. I'm sorry but this is whats wrong with America! They need to take pride in themselves and have some discipline. The manager seemed to have no control. This place is disgusting... from the appearance to the service. I just wonder if I had received my food, if that would have been just as bad?

Needless to say I do not have a name of any employee or a receipt with a transaction # due to never being served.

I ordered a Frisco melt in the Greenfield Indiana restaurant. It came out cold. The cheese wasn't melted and no Frisco sauce on there. My fried got a patty melt and it was also cold. Another friend ordered applesauce and got french fries. The last party also did not get the right order. I will never walk in this place again. VERY UPSET! The waiter said the manager seemed not to care.

Was waiting in line at drive thru, no movement, asked car at speaker what was going on, told they were told to "wait". Sa8d last night they had to wait 45 minutes. Come inside, drive thru timer at 25 minutes no contact. Waiter says theured understaffed, manager doesn't say anything. Cars still waiting at drive. Waiter was nice but service was awful. Nobody was wearing drive thru headset to answer.

Went to the Steak ‘n Shake in Powell tenn waited and waited for someone to seat us with every employee there seeing us standing no one asked us if we needed help and even when more people piling in the restaurant still no asking so at this point we seated ourselves and looking around other customers sitting and still waiting to be helped and upset watched two table of customers walk out which at thei point we were getting ready to do the same when finally someone comes to get our drink order and says someone else would be with us soon and we wait some more finally our waitress cooks in the kitchen standing around doing nothing you ask why well because they had no orders and to top that off manager up front seeing all this and still nothing smh worse service ever food was good but our waitress Elizabeth that took our order never returned so there for we had to stop some one else to get drink refills
