Steak 'n Shake service

This is the worst Steak ‘n Shake if you go in over night you have to wait 15 mins just to get your order taken. The lady that I usually see overnight is always rude and rushes you to get your order done it's just bad all together. It also seems like they get the order wrong and than blame it on you. They need to get a better overnight staff that can actually work

Steak 'n Shake cold food/long wait/filthy

I do not normally reach out like this, however while we were vacationing in Orlando, FL we were excited to find a Steak and Shake and could not wait to take our family who had never had the experience of your burgers and shakes. We had finally made in on Friday night 12/29/17 and it literally took 45 minutes to get our food and the food was absolutely cold and dry and you could tell it had sat for some time before it got to us. Nothing worse than cold fries and a cold burger. The shakes were the same way you cold tell they had sat for a while before we got them, very soft and almost liquid.

The bad experience started with the unhappy hostess and there was never a manager present as we watched multiple tables of families get up and walk out. The drive through seemed to be the priority as they moved through [pretty quickly.

I was terribly disappointed in the cleanliness and have no doubt this is not how the Stake and Shake brand would expect their brand to be represented. This location is in an ideal place with lots of traffic and I assumed this was just our bad experience, however after reading the yelp reviews this has been going on for sometime.

Steak 'n Shake unethical behavior by manager

Date of incident was 12/26/2017 @ 6:56PM
Went through the drive through to order 3 regular shakes. Once I got to the window the young lady handed me 3 half filled cups. When I questioned her she went to get get the manager. I repeated by complaint about the cup not being full. The manager proceeded to tell me they were out of whip topping that generally fills the cup. I disagreed with her and she slammed the window shut and walked off. She was very unprofessional about the entire situation. I've purchased from Steak and Shake numerous times and never been treated this way. I will not be returning to that location. I paid $11.20 for 3 of the worst milk shakes ever.

Steak 'n Shake cooks

I was sitting at Steak 'n Shake and of course it took forever to get sat and then to get a drink order. We were ready to order everything by the time we were acnolaged by a server. We got our drinks like 5 minutes later. While we're sitting at our table I'm watching this greasy lady making food with her hair down and no hair net. Everyone at the merritt island Steak 'n Shake looks nasty and like they shouldn't be serving food. Our food also took way too long so we got it to go. Not likely to be back.

Steak 'n Shake every aspect of the experience

I went to the steak and shake in turkey Creek located in Knoxville, TN on 12/28/17. The experience was awful from the beginning. There were a total of three cars in line including me, two being in front of me. It took almost ten minutes just to get up to take my order. Which is hardly acceptable in a sit down restaurant, much less something that is considered fast food. Finally, it is my turn and I am eager to order, only to have the rude girl on the microphone tell me to hold for a sec. As another five minutes go by, I finally get to order. Even the order process was a painful expierence. I place my order and start to proceed expecting to see a busy drive thru and to my surprise not a single car was in front of me. Almost as if they had to completely serve one car at a time, from placing the order to driving off. I ordered the western BBQ burger, which I normally love, and a large parmesan fries. The girl who was working hardly said a word but to utter the total cost. I gave her the money and received my change. During the process half of my coin was dropped on the ground between my car and the window and not even an "I'm sorry". I finally get my food and again not a word, not a thank you, come again or anything. She might as well just thrown the food into the car at this point. The total process took at least 20 min. I am frustrated by this point and wanted to call the number on my receipt to explain my frustrations. Apparently everyone in the country was calling at the same time. I was on hold for 25 minutes before I decided to hang up, long enough to make it through the crowded shopping strip mall and all the way home. Finally, I am home and get to enjoy what I waited all this time for. WRONG, and so was my order. I ordered a triple and got a double. Also, the western BBQ is supposed to come with little crispy onion strings, but instead in place is diced onions. I would have rather had no onion. I normally enjoy steak n shake, in fact, I used to work at the one in Powell, TN on Emory Rd. My manager would have been furious if even one of these occurred. Needless to say, I will not be returning to that location.

Steak 'n Shake employees.

Yesterday, my fiancé and I went to Steak ‘n Shake for dinner just like we do every other Tuesday/Wednesday. It took forever for us to get seated and our waitress her name was Rebecca, she was very rude. She never came to our table at all and our food wasn't made right. She never once talked to us or wished us a good night. It was a terrible experience.

Steak 'n Shake service wait time

I have been at the Melbourne Fl New Haven location now 2 times. Both times have had excessive amounts of wait times and terrible service when the amount of people there was few. Today (Dec 28) I have been waiting for almost an hour and still have no food, it took us about 30 minutes just to get our drinks. There are only about 15 tables in total with people and there is plenty of staff. The waitresses have been standing around doing nothing, one of them dropping the condiment stand on the ground and left everything there then preceded to walk away and not come back. The manager is the one taking care of the shakes because the kitchen is apparently so behind. The drive through has a short line as well so there is no reason for an hour delay to get our food.

Steak 'n Shake chicken tenders

I was dining at Steak ‘n Shake a few weeks ago with my 5 year old daughter. We ordered the chicken tenders, fried chicken salad, kids burger and chili. Half way through the chicken tenders I could tell the texture wasn't ho it's supposed to be so I cut the tender open and noticed it was still RAW. I checked the other tender and it was WORSE. I informed the waitress which informed the manager and the manager says " sorry will you like anything else?" I said well I'm not eating ANY of this chicken he said "DID YOU WANT ANYTHING ELSE?" With the worst attitude as if I was bothering him. I said no. The waitress informed me he will discount the bill even
Mentioning I probably won't even have to pay for anything at all. I get the bill and he removed my chicken salad off the bill only. I approached him and asked him to remove the tender meal as well and he said "why? You want me to remove that too?" I was so mad and said loudly i refuse to pay for ANY of the chicken and i hope my daughter doesn't get food poisoning from the RAW chicken we were served then we will never come back. He had the worse attitude. I will never ever go to steak and shake again. I posted to social media my picture of raw chicken and even had people share it. Raw chicken is NO JOKE. How dare your manager be so rude? Proper training is lacking... the service ALWAYS sucked but raw food was the last straw. What a shame

Steak 'n Shake milkshakes

So my sister and I went into Steak 'n Shakes for milkshakes when we walked in we were greeted then the host took our milkshake orders (2 Oreo 1 strawnilla and 1 strawberry). We recievd our milshakes and left. When we finally tasted them (2 Oreo) we were appalled. Usually the milkshakes are tasty but this was not the case this time. They were thin and milky. Now it would've been acceptable if we asked for cold milk in a cup with a cherry on top but we did not. Now this is the first time that this has happened but this could make another customer take their money somewhere else

Steak 'n Shake general management

My name is Maria Gonzalez-Davis and I am a former employee and I got hired when I was 16 turning 17 and I really enjoyed working there. I was a very good worker never really complained even though they would scheduled me 4 hours and I worked almost 8 it never bothered me. I was a good loyal worker they asked me to pick up shifts I was there I worked and come on time and never no-showed and I told my boss Salvador that I couldn't work major holidays, there for I couldn't work Christmas they continued to scheduled me on Christmas I told him I couldn't work and that Christmas is big thing in our family and they still kept me on the schedule, even though I told them I couldn't work. The manager, Salvador still wanted me to come in on Christmas day. I didn't go in because my mom wouldn't let me remind you I am 17 and I live with my family and Christmas is very important to our family. 2 days later I called and asked when I was scheduled, they told me I was still scheduled so I planed to go in I got a text from a former employee saying that I was fired so, i called and asked and they said no I was still on the scheduled so I started to get ready for work and got another text from the same former employee saying that she talked to the General manager, Salvador and he told her I no longer worked for them. I called again asking to speak to him and told them I was told by an employee I was fired, then they took a while I never got to speak to the GM but they finally told me I was fired. I believe that this is an unprofessional way of telling some one they were fired and also the reasoning behind it unexceptionable.

Steak 'n Shake chicken strips and burger

Steak n shake on Lemay Ferry in St. Louis MO. December 26th. I went to the drive thru. I ordered 2 chicken strip meals and Steak burger meal. The wait was not long, I received my food, drove home. The chicken was overcooked, pictures included and my burger was cold. Would be nice to have the food hot and fresh as that is what paid for. I believe it was thrown back in the fryer yo warm it back up, which is ridiculous.

Steak 'n Shake dining service

My family and I came to steak and shake in cookeville, tn for lunch and waited approximately 30 minutes to be seated. After being seated and placing our order we then waited another hour before the waitress told us that it would be a while before our burgers would be out. The drive thru was moving quickly, though. Why does drive thru come before dine in customers?

Steak 'n Shake meal

I went through the drive thru and ordered a Garlic double steak burger meal, I wanted a shake with the order but was told I would have to wait 25 minutes fora shake so I decided to just get a soda. Then After waiting a total 40 minutes in the drive thru i was finally at the window to pay and get my food. Once I got home I received the entirely wrong order and did not want to go back because of the line that had built up behind, I am very displeased with the service. I usually never have issues and was extremely disappointed to say the least as I could not even eat the meal I was given because it had onions which I cannot eat.

Steak 'n Shake my meal and service

I went to the Lancaster, Ohio steak n' shake with my friend tonight. At first the service was fine but then things got bad. There were only two other tables and our waitress started complaining loudly about how she was the only one working the floor, and was cussing a lot. We ordered our meals which were good and we got them quick but the milkshakes came 15 minutes after we ate. Then she had a group of 6 come in and she yelled at them to not sit in the section that was closed very rudely so they walked out. She then said I better give her a tip or I could leave. After we dealt with all this and all the other customers complaining also, the worst had yet to come. I went to the register to pay, while saying multiple times that my bill was cheaper of the two. She was so focused on complaining about her issues that she rang me up for the wrong check, which then made me pay for. My meal was $9 and I had to pay for my friends which was $14 because she said she couldn't change it. She didn't offer to do anything about it and said you can either pay the full bill or make your friend pay you a few bucks for the shake. I still tipped her and paid for my meal when I shouldn't have and it honestly made me never want to come to one of your locations again. I was highly disappointed.

Steak 'n Shake service

We ordered food, four in our group, and 20 minutes later the server comes to our table and tells us the biscuits have been cooking for 40 minutes and are still dough. The manager then comes to our table and rudely stated they had been checking the biscuits every few minutes and didn't realize they were not cooking and that their oven wasn't working. She also said the biscuits only take 18 minutes to cook. When our food finally reaches our table it is cold. We were made to believe it was our problem. Needless to say we got up and left without eating. We paid for our drinks since we had drank them.

Steak 'n Shake peppermint shake

Stopped at the steak and shake on 23 near Polaris, Columbus Ohio, and found they are already out of peppermint shakes! So excited for a peppermint shake and wham... already out for the season. Could you please increase the amount of seasonal shakes to your locations!
This location is always clean and service is stellar!

Steak 'n Shake cold food, order wrong, manager didn't care to talk to us nor fix it

We came into this location to eat dinner after being out all day, wanted a hot meal. Everything was cold ICE cold, order was made completely opposite of everything we had ordered, my husband is highly allergic to onions they put onions on it after he asked for none. I am a previous manager for another fast food restaurant with over 8 years In the buiesness I know how it goes and how to make my customers happy this visit was horrible! I will not be returning nor giving my business to steak n shake. I am so disappointed in the manager as he basically rolled his eyes and walked away. Seriously look into the people you allow to run your business!

Steak 'n Shake service and food

We were stuck in the drive thru for about 20 minutes the line was very backed up. You could tell they were under staffed. The woman who took our order handle cash with the same gloves and the proceeded to touch all of our food. We watched right from the window. We proceeded to ask for a manager and the cashier said we were lying right in front of us and the manager. I was in complete shock. We asked for our money back never even received our food in a timely manner. I will not be back anytime soon.

Steak 'n Shake management

At 12pm on 12/21/17 @ Illnois Rd, Fort Wayne, IN there was 1 server. She was very overwhelmed with customers, doing jobs that weren't hers & even trying to cashier but the register wouldn't allow her to ring us out. She requested the manager come help, he took a good 10 minutes to come forward, in the meantime others were ready to be cashed out. 1 table of 2 people walked out on their bill. We explained we wanted to pay for it so the server didn't have to, he kept waiting for server to come over to tell him where they had been sitting, I did so & he pulled up their bill & we paid it, along with ours. The manager kept saying that there was management things that he had to do at 12pm & he had worked this shift by himself, making excuses. It is the holiday season, there are more people out later, we felt the store was understaffed, 3 grill cooks, drive thru cashier who wouldn't cash us out & a manager in the back of the store. We had issues with short staff at the other store in Fort Wayne and chose to try this one instead, it was worse. We won't be going back.

Steak 'n Shake service, colerain ave store

Came in last night at 12 through the drive thru and with 1 Person ahead of me and maybe 2 people inside, was told it would be a 20 min wait because it was they're "rush"hour absolutely uncalled for and they do this all the time just so they don't have to deal with customers. Maybe need new management or something but some one needs to check on this.
