Steak 'n Shake management and health and safety violations

I wanted to tell you i frequent the steak and shake at 3250 cassopolis st in elkhart in 46514 and every time i come in here there is health code violations every were people preparing food with no head covers or hair nets managers as well and when i say something they say that because they are the manager they dont have to wear them yet i am serv safe certified i know this is wrong and dont appreciate this as well as seeing food being prepared without gloves your managers not wearing there work outfits tables unclean dirty dishes stacked and left on tables i love your food but dislike and dont appreciate the unclean and unprofessional atmosphere myself and family are subject to just to have a good meal. i do want to inform u of a great server at that location his name was jeremy January he was awsome great personality prompt and polite and when i complained about the above issues he did what he could to fix the issues at the time of service i would recomend a raise or promotion for that gentleman

Steak 'n Shake rude customer service

On 3/19/2017, we visited Steak and Shake No:19 and what an awful experience. We entered the restaurant and by the way it smelled, we should have just left then, but thought you know every store experiences plumbing problems at some point so we sat down to order. Our server was very polite and was happy to take our order. We ordered shakes then our burgers. We got our burgers, wondering where are shakes were but was hungry so we began to eat. My daughter went to squeeze mustard on her sandwich and it exploded all over her Nike sweatshirt. We excused ourselves to the restroom to immediately get the mustard out, which didn't work by the way, new sweatshirt ruined! Came back to our table still no shakes. Asked our server to come over, explained to her what happened with mustard and she laughed. At this point my blood was boiling, still no shakes, a crying teenager covered in mustard and burgers untouched at this point. Finally received shakes once I asked for them to be put into to go cups. Chased server down for check. Proceeded to check out and explained to manager what happened and she said yes, kids sometimes put things in the top of the bottles. I explained to her that checked the top of the mustard and it was dried up mustard in the top. She then tells me, well they don't always get cleaned. Wow, is all I can say. She offered me a discount of a whole $5.00 off my bill. So, let's see...3 u touched burgers and fries, 3 milkshakes we ended up not taking and a nice sweatshirt ruined all while still paying $28. I will never ever in my life return to another Steak 'n Shake!

Steak 'n Shake cold food

the Fairview Height, il store is dirty and drive through service is slow. I have experienced lazy employees on numerous occasions. I love Steak 'n Shake when I can get hot food, which is rare. Recent drive through experience got cold (grease had already set up on hamburger) but did receive hot fries. Wish someone could turn this store around. Hot food and cleanliness should be top priorities. Your profits will jump if you can correct these two issues.

Steak 'n Shake manager and cook at kissimmee route 192 store

Tonight we went into the restaurant at 7:15 on a Tuesday night. The restaurant was only 1/4 full. At least 1/2 the rest of the tables were full of dirty dishes. We got a table right away, then waited 52 minutes for 2 steak burgers. At first the waitress kept telling us our food would be right out. Then she started apologizing, and finally she told is she went and got the manager.
But, the manager never came to our table. She went and started to help cook. When we finished dinner i went to the cash register and stood for at least 5 minutes before the manager even came and took my money. And yes, she knew I was standing there. I told her we had waited 52 minutes and she said "yea, the waitress told me., " No, apology nothing. That is the 2nd time we have had horrible waits at that location. We will not be going back EVER.

Steak 'n Shake service

I arrived at the Crawfordsville store and was seated in a couple of minutes. I told the server I was going to the restroom. I washed my hands and came out to find someone else seating at my table. I went back to the counter to be reseated but could not get help. This store needs some serious management training. They are am embarrassment to the Steak n Shake Franchise.

Steak 'n Shake customer service

My husband and I go to this restaurant all the time. We gone their so much the server even knows us. But tonight was a major disappointment. Melody was our new server tonight and she was mean and rude. I mean she treated us so bad I didn't even want to leave her a tip. I asked her for two take home containers and she comes out with two small ones thinking that our food will fit. Then when she goes back to get is bigger ones it takes her at least 15 minutes to get it and I know she wasn't busy because there were very few customers. My husband and I have never been treated with such rudeness.

Steak 'n Shake product and service

We went through the drive thru tonight March 15 @ 9pm. We ordered a double steak burger with pickles ketchup and mayo only. Repeated it twice for the guy. The only sandwich we got. We also ordered a Coke and a shake. The drive thru person did not speak one word the time we were at the window.
When we got home the only sandwich that we ordered was wrong. It had garlic spread, mayo, lettuce, ketchup, pickles and tortilla strips on it. How hard is it to get what you asked for when it's as simple as pickles, ketchup & mayo only. My husband was very disappointed as it was for him. I tried calling the store and the first time it rang forever then they picked it up and hung up on me. The second time it just rang and rang and no one picked it up. It's the Steak 'n Shake on Fisherville Park drive Westport in Louisville, Ky.

Steak 'n Shake missing orders

I pulled up to the window and they didnt even welcome me or anything. They told me my price and then told me i couldnt get a recipt because tbey just ran out of paper as i get all the way home i find that a quarter of my meal is missing and i cant go back because i have no recipt. I am not normally one to complain but i am very displeased with this visit.

Steak 'n Shake bad quality forgetting food

Went through the drive through at the Vienna WV store got all the way home and had no fries in my bad. I trust that they get my order right I have gone there for as long as they have been open but they didn't. So I drove all the way back to the store and they were about to close. They gave me cold rock hard fries. I didn't even get an apology and then stale fries that had sat for a while.

Steak 'n Shake jasmimin

I was recently in this weekend with my family sitting at a booth near where the food is handed out at and this light skin heavyset pretty women went up to the counter and asked for a cup of chili and I heard that the lady told her to get it herself and this is not the first time that I come in and I see her going off the last time I went in she approached a white women taht was hosting and demanded her to give her tip back after there was a line at the door and the white old lady was busy hosting, moral of the story is that this young women I think her name was jasmine she is ALWAYS going off every time I go in. Do you really want that as a part of your team member ? This will be the last time I'll ever come in with my family in suppose to come here and enjoy my time off work and have a good Sunday but instead you have workers somoleaing about a bowl of chili ... Grow up!

Steak 'n Shake over all

So I ordered food online and it said that it would be done in 15 minutes when I got there they were just starting to make it. So I had to wait another 15 minutes for my food. When I got my food the milkshake was basically flavored milk. If I wanted milk I would just buy milk and not spend $3.69 on flavored milk. My grilled chicken sandwich could have been grilled longer but other then that it was fine.

Steak 'n Shake breakfast hours

On the 8th of March, I was at work and wanted to order breakfast from the Steak 'n Shake at 101 W. Maryland. I went online and it said breakfast was now extended from midnight to 11 a.m. I submitted an order for myself and my co-worker for a breakfast skillet and a single steak-burger with cheese. After paying for my meal with my credit card it said my food would be ready at 5:59 a.m. which made me wonder because it was a Wednesday night/ Thursday morning at 4:11 a.m. I decided to call and see if my order was ready at 5 a.m. and they told me they didn't serve breakfast until 7 a.m. It is just a little disheartening to see one thing posted and to know that all your other steak n shakes serve breakfast at the times posted online, but this one store never does. I already have to check my meal whenever I order, because I order while I'm at work and there are not many places open at that time, and something is always messed up. Because of this reason, I will start to find other things to eat. Even though they did refund my money back, it was to late for me to get anything else. Had I known that I wouldn't have been able to get the meal I ordered then I could have ordered pizza from one of the three pizza places that deliver late. At this point in time there is not a lot that can be done, I will just have to rethink ordering from this Steak n shake ever again. I don't normally complain, but after ordering a brownie shake and only getting a brownie, then ordering another meal that was wrong (burgers & fries), and now this. As they say in baseball, three strikes and your out.

Steak 'n Shake service

My fiancé and I and a group of friends were in on 3rd shift and the service completely was crappy. My fiancé is hypoglycemia and we asked twice for the waitress to bring us something to drink. It took my second complaint to bring it forward for us. We have been waiting well over an hour and people next to us were here before us and still waiting for their food this is ridiculous for whomever needs to be here with the waitress on duty. Please do something too make it better for us.

Steak 'n Shake management

After arriving at the 5180 ne 24th st.in ocala, fl. And waiting 15 minutes for my two guests and I to be seated (because tables had not been cleaned), it took almost an hour for our food to arrive (Fast food?). When I remarked to our server,
"guess i'll just eat with my hands" the server replied "the silverware is in the dishwasher". When she came back, it was with one set, none for my guests. After sitting through the entire meal approximately 1 and 1/2 hours of sticking to the floor from a previous mess that hadn't been cleaned up and looking at the table behind us which was full of leftover food and mess that hadn't been cleaned, I got up to pay our over $40 bill (Plus tip), and had to wait another 10 minutes for the cashier who had walked away. Finally my server came over to take my check. I asked to speak to the manager and mr. Tim colon came over. When I explained my experience, all he said was one word "sorry" no explanation, nothing. This is not the first time I have had a complaint about this manager. Once before I waited 15 minutes to pay my check because the cashier had walked away from the register. He's reply was the same then "sorry" as a loyal steak and shake customer at stores across the country, i'm afraid I won't be patronizing this steak and shake or recommending it again. Steak 'n Shake service

We stopped on our way home at the Steak 'n Shake in Tifton, ga. This was our second time stopping at this particular locstuon in the past 2 years and our service this time was even worse than the first time. This location is under staffed for starters. When we received our food we asked if we could place a milkshake order to go. We had been traveling for 4 hours and still had 3 more hours to go and wanted a shake to help occupy the kids. We were told to wait one moment. After waiting 10 mins, we got our servers attention and asked again. Annoyed, she took our order and told us it would be a minute for them to be ready. After 20 minutes, my husband asked for a refund or a credit back on a gift card, whichever was easier. The only two servers working told us that they did not know how to do that. We waited another 10 minutes before our shakes were ready. Absolutely ridiculous! We are not people to complain about much, but when we have had 2 out of 2 bad experiences like this, something should be said. If I was a business owner, I would want to know!

Steak 'n Shake employees, management, and food

We went to steak n shake in north canton ohio my youngest daughter found a hair in her cottage cheese and her milk shake both the employee and the manager got a really bad attitude with us after we said something and we should have just left when we first got there we saw a table open and it took almost 15 minutes to just get seated I don't think I will spend my money to eat there again

Steak 'n Shake drive thru is so slow

The local steak and shake in mt. Sterling ky has been open for a couple months. I have been in the drive thru maybe 10 times and I have never got thru in less than 20 minutes. Most times its 25-30 and thats with 4 cars or less in front of me. I hear complaint after complaint on facebook at the ridiculous time in line. Something needs to be done. Food is great but I despise going there

Steak 'n Shake manager

Went to Steak n Shake yesterday in Greensburg, PA. It was not busy. We were seated immediately but at least 10 minutes passed and no one ever came to the table not even for a drink order. I went to the counter prepared to leave and asked to speak to a manager. When I explained the situation to the manager and told him we were leaving, his exact words were, "Yeah, okay." No apology, nothing. Obviously, store managers are not receiving proper training and this particular store has no regard for its customers. We visited Steak n Shake often and this is not the first time we have had bad service but the total lack of concern shown by the manager is unacceptable.

Steak 'n Shake speculoos milkshake

I ordered a milkshake at the university of Memphis steak and shake. After I got the the bottom of the shake I found something that looks like a piece of fiber glass wall with paint... I nearly ate it. I don't know what to do about this but I had fiber glass splinters in the roof of my mouth. Kinda unacceptable. I would like some help with this situation if that's possible.

Steak 'n Shake burger

I asked for 3 milkshakes and 2 burgers with no cheese, which she even said "No Cheese?" and put plain on the receipt. We got the burgers but did not look at them and waited for our shakes which took about 20 minutes. when we got home the burgers were slathered with cheese, which I do not like too eat on behalf of my Lactose Intolerance. I am very displeased.

Mistakes like this do happen. It was probably made while the cook read the ticket. When it comes to picking up food it is usually best to check it before you leave, especially if you have dietary restrictions. You should call or visit the restaurant for possible a re-make or refund.
