The last several months, the quality of my home delivery service for the Springfield, IL State Journal-Register has declined precipitously--which coincided with their decisions to make some newspaper content print-only and to start charging for some Internet content. Today my paper still didn't arrive by the time I left for work (7:20 AM), since 6AM is considered "late" by the SJ-R's standards for paper delivery. I called the Subscriber Service number around 6:30 (I have had to call them almost 4 of 7 days recent weeks to complain about late delivery), and the receptionist said "we'll get one out to you" (but seemed a little rude). Still no paper at 7:20, and I tried calling the Subscriber Services again--and the line just rang continuously with no one picking up my call. Apparently "First In Print" to the SJ-R means "First in Print Preferably Purchased at your Local Retail Store." (some of their outside paper boxes have jammed whenever I have tried to purchase papers from them before and didn't give my quarters back).

I received a letter from them thanking me for being a loyal subscriber, but I DON'T SUBSCRIBE TO THEIR PAPER. I can't get through to the customer service line, and they have spelling errors in the letter. I am concerned because I don't know if somehow I am being scammed. Very frustrating...

I lived in rurl Greenview and we are constantly not getting our paper...I am doing a complaint to the Illinois Attorney general for consumer fraud as they also are not crediting me for no papers.

This is THE most incompetent paper for actually delivering a product they claim to be SELLING, & for which I'm actually paying for! No paper again today & when I just tried reporting it through their "NO customer service" line, & only AFTER going thru all the friggen menus, it comes back & says "we cannot accept your complaint at this time, please call back tomorrow" - really, REALLY?
