i went into stanton optical because i needed new glasses tired of wearing contacts plus my perscruption for old glasses wasnt quite helping much. didnt find any clear frames so i decided to keep my old frame just change the lences to the correct ones at a price of $79 also decided to get a box of the one day biotrue for each eye which came out to $85 right about then they offered me a promo where you can get another pair of sunglasses for $50 when buying the contacts.. i said why not? total should if been around $215 right? i paid $280 not only that when i get my sunglasses it was the wong perscription (way too strong) and wrong frame (way cheaper quality) unsatisfied with my glasses i took them in and am demanding a refund! they kept the glasses on aug 4 2019 and til this day i have no refund no glasses not happy at all with stanton optical. went in the next day again and manager said she can only refund me $31? and it takes 4-6 weeks for my check to come in when i paid cash. called coprorate and since the manager isnt in i have to wait another two days until they talk to her ugh!

Stanton Optical misrepresentation

Before I file a complaint with the BBB I'm going to try this first. I went to Stanton Optical on 8/2/19 and Carol immediately came to assist me. Her first question was had I been there before and I told her no. I had taken my son there before, but I had not been through the process myself. She stated the first step was to pick out 2 pair of glasses which I did. After that she took me to the exam area and had me sign in for an eye exam. Then the problem began. When that was over and she had me sit down to give me the total, she told me my prescription for my bifocals were $346 and with the cost of the glasses my total would be around $546. That was so far off the chart from the advertised 2 pair for $59 or $69. I was in shock and told her I couldn't pay that. She then said she had another plan where my prescription would be $100 less. Again I informed her that was too much. She showed me the cost of the glasses I picked out and I asked her if I could look for a less expensive pair of glasses. Then she said she had a basic packet where my prescription would only be $128 and she would charge me for the $89 pair of glasses and give me the other higher pair free. At that point I was very frustrated that the cost of my prescription kept changing with each packet instead of there being a set price for bifocals. I then said I needed to call my husband because I could not make that purchase without his approval. She appeared very frustrated having to stand there and wait because he didn't answer the phone nor did he respond to my text right away. The nature of his job doesn't allow him to just answer his phone at will. Several minutes went by and I kept calling. Finally I asked her how much time I had to make a decision and THAT'S WHEN SHE INFORMED ME FOR THE FIRST TIME that if I didn't make a purchase the exam cost $99. I called my husband again and he answered that time and When I explained what she said he became very furious because at that point we were stuck. My 2 choices were to pay the $217 for the glasses which was the last price she quoted me or pay $99 and walk out with nothing. While I was on the phone she began talking to me saying I could finance the amount and pay over 6 months but they would have to run my credit. My husband said, absolutely not. I guess we have no choice but to pay for the glasses because I'm not giving them $99 and still have to go somewhere else to get some glasses. When I ended the call she said she could give me one last discount and make it an even $200. I didn't feel like I had any other choice so I reluctantly agreed and gave her the $200. If Carol, who was aware that I had not been there before, had told me up front how the process works and what the about the $99 eye exam if no purchase was made, I would have called my husband at the onset and we could have made a better choice. As it was, I agreed to go through the process not having all the information to make a better choice. After returning home I looked at their site online and it states that the exam without a purchase was approximately $45. $99 is nowhere near (approximately) $45. It was totally and completely unfair to withhold very pertinent information until the end, leaving me to have to give them money whether I bought glasses or not. I wanted to just walk out but was afraid the police would be called since I had already taken the exam, but I only did the exam NOT KNOWING AND NOT BEING TOLD it would be $99 without a purchase. I already deal with depression and chronic pain and this incident caused me to be in even more pain from the stress. The restitution I want is to get my money back and cancel the glasses and because I am a fair and honest person I am willing to pay $45 for the exam like your website states instead of $99. This could have all been avoided if the employees would stop trying to trap and trick people into making higher purchases and just be honest about what they advertise. You should explain to people upfront what it is that you get for 2/$59. I look forward to hearing from you very soon.

Stanton Optical misrepresentation; miscommunication

Today, 7/31/2019, I spoke with the store (#51-Greenville) manager (Stacie Spearman) who assisted my daughter with her contact lens order. My entire family (husband, myself, and all three daughters) have been seen for contacts and lenses since the day they opened at this location. Every time we go for a visit they run our insurance first and then advise on the exam (typically it has been free or $10.00) Today I was advised it was $86 with our insurance. I asked the manager why the sudden change and she reported that my daughter was no longer a part of their club and therefore did not receive any further discounts. I asked if my daughter was advised upfront of the change in her plan and/or what the cost would be and the MANAGER told me she ASSUMED my daughter knew since she has been a member for several years. Well, please explain how my daughter was to know she was no longer a member if no one advised her a head of time. She went there on 7/30/19 and requested contacts but was told it had expired. Why was she not advised on that day as well? I am not only requesting but demanding a proper resolution with the withheld and lack of communication provided by this store!

Stanton Optical glasses and customer service to correct

Address is 11689 Park side Dr, Farragut, TN 37934
On 4/15/19 I went in and had my eyes checked and paid $59.95 for glasses. I told them I only wanted reading glasses. They said it would take 10 days -2 weeks but would call me when the glasses came in. Almost 2 months go by and no call so I call the store and they say oh yeah, your glasses are here. I go pick them up and the guy asks my name and hands me 2 cases. I tried a pair that night to read a book and the prescription is ALL wonky. Totally blurry and makes my eyes cross. On 7/10 I emailed Stanton customer service and told them the issue, I asked if I could drop off the glasses and them just put a generic 2 x reading glasses lens in them and not the messed up prescription that was currently in them. On 7/12, Jenny responded and asked if I could come in on 7/17 to have my prescription redone. I advised her that I was on a deadline and working a lot of OT and was unavailable at all that week, but was available any time the next week. Fast forward to 7/26 and I have had no response from Jenny or anyone else in Stanton Customer Service so I email them again. I advise now school has started back and my schedule is more restricted, can I just drop these off and get a 2 x and be done as the glasses are worthless. It is 7/30 and I still have no response. I will never go back there or tell anyone to go there, quite the opposite. Poor service and poor follow through from the location and customer service.

Stanton Optical eye exam was a scam

I scheduled an appointment online a week in advance and when I scheduled the appointment I was asked if I had any insurance I said yes. when I went to my appointment on 07/20/2019 I walked in and signed in was taken to another area where they do the eye exam and was told to sign in again I had to wait for quite some time before anyone came to assist me and when they did I was told to put my last name and date of birth on a tablet when I put my information in I was asked a series of questions and one of those questions where did I have insurance I chose yes not once throughout my appointment I was not asked for my insurance card and state I'd as all providers are required to ask for. After answering all of the questions I was given my eye exam. When my eye exam was all done and finished and my prescription was ready. I was told to go back to the front area and my prescription would be ready. When I tried to get my prescription I was told that I had to pay 45 dollars just for my prescription i didn't want any glasses just my prescription and what my prescription is for.

Stanton Optical "skype" doctor... not the same!

I went to Stanton in Peoria, Illinois on March 15, 2019 and did like the changes that have happened in the last couple years. The doctor was not in the room; but on a TV in a corner in the room. I told her several times to slow down and to go back for me to compare again because she was going through the exam too fast. I told her that she wasn't giving me enough time for my eyes to adjust between...better...or worse but she continued to go fast. So, no surprise- when I got my glasses the prescription wasn't right! Mike, the manager tested my eyes again and sent the glasses back for another try; however, the prescription still wasn't correct. The manager, Mike went out of his way to make things right and was excellent in trying to resolve the problem! The problem is not with the store...it is the impersonal approach that Stanton has embraced! I want a Doctor in the room doing the exam not someone in Florida! I also remember when the lens were made in their lab and not sent off. The changes that Stanton has made will cost the company to go out of business soon!

Stanton Optical service

My mother was due for a refunding $150 that was suppose to have been put back on her debit card on 4-10-19 well instead of it being a refund it was a withdrawal of $150 and I told the store manager Jammal that you guy took $150 he said "No way I processed it as a refund and the receipt says it and so does my machine " I called her bank and they said it came in as a withdrawal and the money is taken, so I took the bank statement and gave him a screen print to his cell phone showing Stanton took $150 and NO REFUND of $150. He said he reached out finance and sent that info to them they need to investigate! Here's my issue most businesses require a bank statement showing the money was taken and then they refund it! Well I provided that information why does there need to be a investigation before she gets her money back? She should not have to wait to see why your system or employee did something wrong before she gets her money back! Give her the $300 that she is owed and then figure out y'all system! PERIOD! Everyone I talked to did not help! Louis was the first person I talked to who said my mother didn't have a account there which irritated me thee most, was transferred to a "so called supervisor " named John who hung up! Not sure if it was on purpose called again and talked to Elias who says he's a supervisor who called and talked to Jamal only to tell me the same thing Jamal said, so I'm even more irritated so I asked for another manager/ supervisor with whom I got to talk to Melody.. at this point I'm thee most highly irritated customer ever because I keep having to tell the same story only to keep getting told "I'm trying to help you" when they clearly are NOT HELPING! I told Melody I wanted her refund back TODAY! because I've provided you all with bank proof that you took the money! This is the worst Customer Service EVER! I will forever write a bad review about this company because of it! And would NEVER RECOMMEND anyone there! My mother is 71 yrs old and was beat out of $300 and was told to wait until y'all figure out why the money was taken which is NOT HER ISSUE it's the company and she should have had her money by now but she doesn't and I have to resort to this! WORST COMPANY EVER... Sincerely Super Angry Unhappy Customer... it would be great to hear from you all, but being the horrible company you are I'm sure I won't hear back or if this email is even read! 😡 [protected]... I may even make reviews on the Better Business Bureau.

Stanton Optical optomists have no idea what they are doing/multiple trips back to the office

My son recently went to Stanton Optical for a promo they were offering for an "Eye exam and 2 pair of glasses for 59.95". The Optometrist that performed the exam had no idea what he was doing and gave him the wrong prescription for his glasses .

After the exam he was told that since his vision was 2 cm off he did not qualify for the promotion (something that was never revealed in the promotion itself) but was offered 2 pair off glasses and an eye exam for $99.00 (instead of $59.95) Since he has no insurance and needs glasses he went ahead and purchased the glasses for the additional charge. He was told his glasses would be ready within 7 days.

Since the first call we've been back 3 different times to have the glasses readjusted since the original prescription was completely wrong and he can't possibly wear them. The lens is still so distorted he can't see through them. We are now waiting for a call to go back in for the 4th time to finally pick up the glasses that were suppose to be correct and finished the first time.

We expect to be fully compensated for this disaster and the time and energy it has taken us to get glasses.
We strongly encourage you to hire professionals next time.

Sincerely,
Jolene Freeman

Stanton Optical eyeglass lenses, customer service, wrong product

About 6 months ago, I started the process of getting an eye exam and updated my prescription from another eye dr. I brought it to stanton on 8/28/18 and ordered 2 new frames with lenses. I quickly noticed, even with an updated prescription, I was still having difficulty seeing. The first set of lenses seemed to be defective, as in "shrink-wrap ripple" on the lenses. I returned to stanton and they rechecked my vision, and took my glasses back, one at a time. I took in my second pair, but they were still working on the first pair. So I picked out a new pair of frames. Eventually, after weeks, I finally received my frames back. I'm still unable to see clearly. My husband and I drove to a trusted optical shop, we've known them for almost 20 years but they are 2.5 hour drive from where we live. I had him check my glasses and the lenses in my frames, that have been replaced by stanton - were not varilux lenses that I payed over $300 per lense. We returned to stanton, spoke to an assistant manager and he confirmed that the lenses were not as ordered or what we paid for. I am scheduled for yet another appointment with stanton tomorrow morning for yet another eye exam. Another eye exam will not change the fact that I have been given a "knock off" brand lenses. All of the lenses ordered, switched out and fixed have been ordered by different associates - so I know this was not a one time mistake. I am truly upset and bothered with the findings about the lenses. I spoke to the manager at stanton and I asked to please return my lenses and frames and a refund. He approached me in a defensive manner, stating "what's the problem?" I explained my concerns and he was quick to respond "absolutely not, we don't do that." and abruptly walked away. Six months of going back and forth, exchanging frames, multiple exams, and finding cheap lenses is poor customer service, unprofessional and speaks volumes about what this store stands for. Ultimately, I would like to return my frames and have a full refund.

Stanton Optical horrible experience

We went into the Stanton on 124 and Capital in Brookfield WI on 1/8/2019 for my daughters contact appointment. This was the worst experience I have had here. We were here in Spring to order glasses from my daughter and it was great. It was easy from start to finish. This experience not at all. First, there was not enough staff on to help. We waited 20 min after our appointment to even be seen. Neither woman that helped my daughter seemed to have a clue what they were doing. My ten min appointment turned into a 1 1/2 hour appointment, and I still had to leave with out getting my contacts ordered. We got to cash wrap and they couldn't figure out how to place the order for my contacts. I don't like the fact that my daughter told me that the doctor was on s FaceTime app. Seriously? She said the lady that did her appointment seemed to have no clue what she was doing. When it was time to check out they had two boxes of contacts ready to go for my daughter, then realized that her numbers were wrong on her prescription, and they would have to be ordered. They lady checking us out acted like my placing my order was the biggest inconvenience ever. I was told that my exam was $10 with my insurance, I was told that it was $50 at checkout. I told her I was only paying the $10 as I was told. Lady got a serious attitude about it. After and hour and half I had to be somewhere, so I was told they would call today for my contact order. No call no anything. I will not be back to this place anytime soon. Which is a shame because we had a great experience when we bought her glasses in spring.

Stanton Optical unethical behavior and false claims

If I could give zero stars I would. My entire transaction with stanton optical has been absolutely terrible. I called corporate to complain and they were no help seems they are ok with providing terrible service. Here's my story:

2 weeks ago I called and scheduled an appointment because they had a special for 2 free glasses with an eye exam. I am a college student with no insurance so this was appealing to me and I can't see without glasses or contacts. The day of my exam I called to confirm my appointment only to find out that there was no optometrist on site... Ok so nobody planned on calling and telling me this. The lady on the phone informed me that I could visit the walmart across the street and they would credit me $55 if I came back for glasses.

The same day I went and got an eye exam from walmart (costed me $160). I bring my prescription in only to find out that my vision didn't qualify for the 2 free glasses with eye exam special. So because I was already there I decided to purchase glasses (which after the $55 discount still costed me $140 so now i've spent $300). The glasses were supposed to be ready 12/20/2018.

It's now 12/20/2018. (background: I am only here for school and I live 8 hours away so i've literally been waiting around jackson for 2 weeks until my glasses arrive so that I can go home to enjoy the holidays with my family) I call stanton optical only to find that my frames broke yesterday when they were trying to install my lenses... Ok so nobody planned on calling and telling me that?... So now i've been here for 2 weeks waiting on glasses that won't be done for another 2 weeks.

Stanton Optical worst eyeglasses experience ever! never again, stanton optical!

Horrible! Horrible! Horrible! Worst service ever! I wish I could give this place less than one star! All of those who give a better score seem to be basing their rating on the initial experience. Yes, when I placed my initial order, it arrived at a decent time frame and was correct. Of course they will do a good job. That's when they get your money! Don't be lured in by their free eye exams and buy one get one free offer. You will regret it later. Here is my full experience. The doctors are all online and from "Florida." Yeah, right! With this accent, I am almost 100% sure they are overseas, but hey, it is a free eye exam and I don't mind supporting poorer countries, so fine. As long as the prescription is correct, who cares. Then my son breaks his glasses. There is a replacement guarantee, so no problem, right? Wrong. I went to the store, placed my order for a replacement frame, and paid my 20% copay. I was told the frame will be ready in a week (the lenses did not break, so it was just a matter of getting a new frame and switching out the lenses). Then, I waited and waited for them to call back. Nothing. Called several weeks later and was told the frame was never ordered. Another order was placed, but the frame is now not in stock, so they told me they will order it in a different color, and that should fix the problem. Then, I was told, on the same call, they will also order another complete frame with lenses, just in case the frame-only order was causing the glitch. Now we have three orders going on, so one of them should work, right? Wrong again! Called every week from that point on, and the answer is the same. "Your order is being processed, " "we don't have any updates in our system, " "we will put you on hold to call the lab, " then a long wait in hopes of getting rid of me, then the sales person comes back on the line to tell my that that the lab did not answer and that he will call me back as soon as he has an update. Then, I never hear back until I call them back the next week to get the exact same frustrating pattern. I am cutting my losses and going elsewhere. Please save yourself the time and agony and go to Walmart or Target. They have much better service there. I have learned my lesson. You get what you pay for.

Update: And here is the kicker. I tried to file a complaint with the BBB, and when I selected the Omaha location, it automatically transferred me to the "Southeast Florida and Caribbean BBB website. Then, on the third screen where I am supposed to pick a location from a drop down menu, the only option is FL. So, there is no way to file a complaint against the Omaha location? Is this location a scam or what?!

Stanton Optical eyeglasses

My mother was 70 years old when she visited Statnton Optical in Lake Worth, FL, she spent over $400 on two pairs of ey glasses; however, she kept complaining that she still could not see clearly even though she was using her eyeglasses. Multiple adjustments were done to her eyeglasses, but still it did not fix the problem. Months later, my mom went to an ophthalmologist at Costco whom told her that she needed cataract surgery and urged my mom to get her money back from dtanton Optical, as she had been misdiagnosed by your optometrist. I reached out to your store manager, and he assured me I would hear from him within 1 week, but he never called me back.

Stanton Optical eye glasses

7/17 I purchased 1pair of glasses and had lenses put in my sunglasses and my computer glasses. Customer service was mediocre. My glasses didn't arrive as promised. I had to make 2 trips to pick up my glasses, after several phone calls. My sunglasses weren't right. I went back and some rude young man said he made an adjustment. I lived with my "adjustment for a year. To make the long story short, I went back recently, to the store, knowing that I had let a year go by. I'm a caregiver for my parents. My mom passed away after a very long illness. That's the reason I wasn't able to take care of my issues. I spoke with a young lady at the store where I had made my purchases. I explained my situation. She had my sunglasses examined and agreed that the wrong prescription had been put into the right eye of my sunglasses. I told her that I realized that I had let a long time go by, but I asked if she could do anything for me. I was hoping she would offer to replace the incorrect lens. She told me she would look into the situation and would get back with me. I called her 4 days later and left a message for her to please call me back. Of course she didn't call back. My overall experience with Stanton Optical is very disappointing. Customer service is beyond poor. I spent a lot of money and I was prepared to spend more. That will not happen. I will never step foot into your store ever again. The store I went to is located on Northlake Blvd in Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33410. Thank you for your attention.

Stanton Optical poor quality product and warranty service, customer service

In August of 2017 I purchased a pair of glasses from your Nampa Idaho location. I was lied to repeatedly about where my glasses were in the system. Finally after weeks of trying I was told my frames were lost in the mail, Sent in new frames, they were were broken at the lab. No contact to me about the problem, just lied to about how they would be here any day. It wasn't until i went in to cancel my order that they were honest and let me know that was going on. Received my glasses in the middle of October 2017. Now after 10 months the coating on both lenses is pealing off. I went in Aug. 27th 2018 to inquire about a warranty replacement. I was told I have to pay for my warranty replacement. Very disappointing. When I was sold the glasses I was told they came with a 1 year frame and 2 year lens warranty. And now am told that your warranty only covers a small portion of the replacement and I have to pay for the rest. What kind of warranty is that? The problem is in the defective coating not from anything I have done to the glasses. Your'e technician acknowledged the problem but your customer service people ignore it and only ask for more money. I will not recommend your company to anyone. High cost, very poor service and product. As i see it new lenses are needed, my frames are fine. The technician said he could replace the lenses the Customer service person is convinced that I need to buy new frames. I'm not paying another $140 to replace my $600 glasses.

Stanton Optical customer service!

I ordered glasses through Stanton Optical the guy told me it would be a week after a week I kept trying to call and all you get is the customer service and you're on hold forever I finally talked to a woman and she told me that they were on their way and that they would be delivered to the store at 11 the next day I drove all the way to the store to pick them up they had no idea what I was talking about because they weren't there the manager said she would call me back within an hour she never ever called me and then 4 days later I get a call telling me that my friends came in and they were broke and that they're discontinued so they wanted me to pick out another pair of frames this is almost 3 weeks later I said no forget it I'm not doing this I already picked out my frames and I said I want a refund so I go to get my refund they refunded me the glasses but not the eye exam. Why would I pay for the eye exam if it was supposed to be included with the glasses and you never got my glasses to me why would I pay the $45 for an eye exam? And it's amazing because you can't talk to anybody in person and the manager at the Hazel Dell Washington store is very rude nobody ever apologized nothing they could have cared less! I want to talk to somebody in person! I should not have to pay for that eye exam!

Stanton Optical stanton optical

Be prepared to wait over month for your glasses. Never have I ever heard of anyone having as much trouble getting their glasses. Dealt with massive confusion between the eye doctor and his frame tech. And the customer service with the people in front doing frames and such was awful as well! Worst ever! And after spending hundreds of dollars on glasses you think you'd at least get polite and caring customer service but not at all. Never will I ever . Manager in Omaha Dodge store does not even return calls and week after week for my glasses still no reply. Was told the manger will call me back in 10 minutes call back again no answer or call back again at all he'll call you back in 10 minutes. No won't have a f***clue what's going on that's the worst store don't ever want to go there will never recommend it to anyone .

Stanton Optical wrong prescription, wrong eye lenses, rude persons and many many trips.

To whom this may concern: Frankly Stanton Optical has made me quite frustrated. I would have contacted you sooner unfortunately we have lost our Father and Brother. But, it is not to late. I made an appt. for an eye exam in Mishawaka, IN (trip 1) They called to say glasses were in. (trip 2) A few weeks later I called Stanton to complain that my glasses were not right. I had blurry vision, headaches and sick to my stomach which I told them. Made another appointment to see what the problem was. (trip 3) I got there and they told me to wear my no line bifocals for a few more weeks to see if my eyes adjusted. and still they did not adjust. So, I went to my family Dr. thinking something was very wrong. They did a brain scan and found nothing wrong. So, I called Stanton once again and they set up an appointment to re-examine my eyes. (trip 4) He did the eye exam and came to the conclusion I needed regular bifocals not the no line so they ordered the regular bifocals. They called to say the other glasses were in. (trip 5) I wore the glasses for awhile thinking everything would be ok. I continued to have headaches and sick to my stomach and eyes were hurting badly. So, my Dr. sent me to another optometrist to do eye exam. It was different from Stanton. So I had to purchase a pair that finally worked for my eyes. In the mean time I took the last pair I got from Stanton because they were not the design (color) frames I had ordered and since I paid for them I would keep them as back up glasses. (trip 6) By this time I was very frustrated with Stanton Optical. When I got there the gal told me it was an honest mistake by ordering the wrong frames. I told her I had made 6 trip and was getting tired of doing this. She stated I should go get my scrooge hat the older gal just gave her a dirty look! I walked out without getting (ordering) the frames I should have gotten in the first place. For the heart ship I have been through not including gas money for all trips which is almost 1 hour drive there and 1 hour back home. All I am asking for from Stanton Optical is a free eye exam for (contacts) I do not believe this is to much to ask for what Stanton Optical has put me through. (I call it pure hell) So, are you willing to honor myself a free contact eye exam in return? I do not want to make trouble I just want to make things right. Sincerely, Debra Andrysiak
