I recently had my carpets cleaned by these guys and they did not take much time or effort to clean my carpets. My carpets DID NOT look much better and there were YELLOW streaks all through my carpets. I called and spoke with the manager Jeff and he was VERY rude with an attitude telling me that the time they spent cleaning my carpets was an average time AND TOLD ME THAT IF I WANTED THEM RE-CLEANED THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE SERVICE AGAIN! Unbelievable this was to me! I was so angry I hung up and will NEVER use Stanley Steemer again! NOBODY should.
Understand that large companies such as Stanley Steamer and Coit all have standards that their employees must follow and are with in the requirements for carrying a certification from the IICRC (Institute of Cleaning and Restoration Certification). Many carpet manufactures ( Mohawk is one of many) require carpet cleaning company technicians to have this certification before cleaning if not it could void your carpet warranty. Many years ago the big carpet cleaning companies started out do very good work but as trh companies grew so did the amount of employees and technicians that hired. So you don't always get the same quality of work from every technician.
Understand that these companies are driven by how many homes they can do in a day. In order to properly clean an empty carpeted home of three bedrooms, living room and dinning room and a stair case it should take the company, with two people, three hours to clean if they follow their certification guidelines.
Remember companies charge by the square foot. If they are not moving furniture then make sure they charge you for what they clean. Many big companies think your not pay attention.
These cleaning technicians are tired and wanting to get home after cleaning three homes that day so if your the forth home they need to clean then you WON'T get a quality job.
Watch You Tube videos on proper steam cleaning methods and then watch your technician. When they arrive check for steam coming out of their cleaning wands. I hope this helps.

Wow that surpises me, i use them all the time and so does my family and friends. the guys are always kind and so helpful to us. my husband is handicap and they go over and above to help us. i really think you should give them another chance they always made it right for me.

maybe y'all should boycott stanley steemer...they seem to be very unprofessional. I've never used them just because of all of the complaints I hear on how that operation is being run. It's probably just that franchise, they can set their own standards and rules and get away with it. Maybe cleaning your own carpets could be an avenue you could travel.
I agree with that. I had my carpets cleaned by the stanley steemer in Boardam and they left streaks in my carpet and when I called to complain, that manager Jeff didn't seem to give too much care and got cocky with me using curse words as if I was some young kid or stupid or something. I had to threaten to call the police just to have my carpets recleaned at no charge. Whatever happened to customer satisfaction?
