Stamps.com - Cannot cancel Stamps.com

I signed up for Stamps.com under a promotional offer of free postage after a trial period. From the beginning, it was NOT as promised. It took over 2 months to get 'free' scale. I never received my 'free' postage from promotional offer. I have emailed 3x now asking for cancellation of service and refund of fees. Never heard back from 1st email request, 2nd email request said CALL! I do not have access to a phone since I am home bound recovering from injuries. On 6/29, they took out monthly fee AFTER I had requested them to stop service and OVERDREW my account. Now, on 7/4, Stamps.com is trying to hit my account again for a monthly fee. I have never used their service or their scale. They suck!

Same thing here! I have tried to cancel, but they say they cannot even find an account for me, BUY I am getting billed for 2 months worth of stamps that I didn't order, nor sign up for, or even GET!
Today I am going to my bank, getting a new debit-card, and just giving up on stamps.com ever taking care of this!
I am also turning the charge over to the bank fraud department to get my money credited back to my account.

I originally went on the site in response to an ad for picture postage. I was interested in purchasing stamps with the pictures of my children on them. After going throught the site, i canceled to order because I could not get enough information about HOW to get the stamps. I soon after had another baby and my husband took over the credit card statements. We were charged every month for 6 months before he discovered it and asked me about it. I called to complain and they said "too bad". They told me it was like having cable, you get charged even if you dont watch it. I told him that I never signed up and he told me that I had recieved emails. Never one. The next day, I received my first email letting me know that the account was canceled. They are still charging me. Everytime I call, its the same answer. Too bad. What kind of company is this?

I have had VERY similar experience, except I have yet to get through to a real person (hold hold hold), although I have emailed several times! I have no idea how they got my credit card number! I have at least 6 months of unnoticed charges - for absolutely NO SERVICE OR PRODUCTS... I can't even use their service if I wanted to - I'm a Mac user... And to top it off they got a AA rating from the LA BBB - guess they have LOW standards!

Stamps.com - let's start a class-action lawsuit against this company

This company never notified me that they would charged a monthly service of $15.99 for the same services that you can get for free directly from USPS.com. Stamps.com not only block you from buying insurance directly from USPS so you have to purchase insurance from Stamps.com instead.
Stamps, com is using the same tactics like from the good old credit report dotcom, and many other outfits on the Internet using confusing information and lured you into signing up for services that would cost you a monthly fees, and try to buried this monthly service fees into the stamp purchases, so you can not tell if you are paying this monthly service fees.
If there is a lawyer out there, let;s look into this company's practices and see if we can make the lawyers rich.
We need to stop stamps.com from charging others for services they have no idea that they were being charged monthly.
I can be reach at [protected] if you want to know the details.

I've been trying for months to cancel my account. It's almost impossible. Today I received the latest bill from them. This is hopefully the last communication I'll have to send them:

Hey, Stamps.Com
In all my years of purchasing services online, I have never been so disappointed, and have never had to jump through so many hoops to cancel an account (I usually do not get so fed up to spend the time to write letters either.)

I want you to cancel my account immediately. I have records of the emails that I’ve sent to you requesting this. I actually sent you a check on November 10, 2011 to pay off my balance, with a note requesting that you cancel my account immediately.

It is now December 3, and I just got another bill from you. I try to call you but your ridiculous phone system does not have after-hours options, and doesn’t even give callers the ability to leave a voicemail.

I would actually love it if you dropped the charges altogether—as I have mentioned several times before to you through email (because your call center does not accommodate my schedule), I have a Mac, and cannot use the services I’m being charged for.

However, I suppose if you just took the $XX.XX that I supposedly owe you for not providing me with any utility at all, I would be fine with it as long as you stop sending me bills and didn’t contact me again. That would be worth it to me.

I started writing this letter by hand, but then decided to type it so that I can send copies to Consumer Affairs, and the Better Business Bureau.

By the way, as you may have noticed I’m paying the USPS extra so that I have proof that you got my communication this time. The USPS should be ashamed to have partnered up to do business with you.

I am requesting for the last time for you to CANCEL MY ACCOUNT IMMEDIATELY.

Stamps.com - Customer cheats

Stamps.com is cheating customers and charging customer without any service or product.

In October, I signed up a one-month free trial account with Stamps.com to try their services. Later, I decided to cancel the account because I do not use the service completely. I never receive the scale and any service.

The business is getting stomer register on the website with credit card information. One month later the stamps.com start charging money each month. In my case, Stamps.com charged me 2 times a month. Each charge is $17.99.

I contacted Stamps.com by writing a email message and I never got any reply. I called Stamps.com in December several times. Stamps.com representative refused refunding my money to my credit account. Stamps.com only agree to close my account for further changing me. I wasted a lot of time.

I believe that Stamps.com set a trap for customer to get in the website with the credit card information. Stamps.com uses the provided credit card to charge the customer until the customer complaint.

Stamps.com is cheating customers by delay replying the solution.

Stamps.com deliberately over charge. By any strict definition, even by its phone-calling standard

I know many customers having the same experience as this.

Stamps.com has been famous by its cheating practice in both consumer market and the Wall Street. I have filed a complaint at BBB, and suggest that all of us file a class litigation against Stamps.com if necessary.

Together, let us make it never happened.

I called Stamps.com [protected].The same day that I saw the chage on my card.It was even before it came out of my account.I called on the 2nd.They said they cancelled my account and would refund my money. Then two days later it showed transaction complete on the account.I gave it two weeks to see a refund but it never happened.I called them again.[protected].Talked to a guy.He just keeped repeating that it showed on his screen that it was already refunded.I said that I am looking at my card stament on line right now and it shows nothing about a refund.Don`t get takin by these conartists. They will take your money just as fast as an overseas scammer.I will say that anyone that was told that they will recieve a refund better check their card statement. If they didn`t refund then call Visa/Mastercard and file a complaint.

Stamps.com - Misleading Website

Man, do I feel dumb. I never thought I could fall for such misleading website.
I like many others wanted to purchase stamps from the ease of my computer. I also thought printing stamps at home was a nice alternative to driving to the post office. I typed in STAMPS as a search and I got Stamps.com. It looks very official with the US Post Office LOGO. (I actually thought it was the US Post Office site) What Stamps.com doesen't tell you as you are entering your credit card number is that this is only a post office authorized service and you are signing up for a monthly, very invisible on the site service. You will begin being billed every month with a base rate (no clue how that is calculated) that includes every additional cost credited to that account. I luckily looked at my credit card statement and found what I thought was a $15.99 unauthorized charge. I had to search my memory as to what I might have done to get this charge and remembered the stamps. (They don't give you any hint that you have signed up for a service as reputable sites do). I went to the Stamp.com website and found their cancellation phone number. They were polite when I told them I guess I had signed up for this service in error. I got immediate cancellation and a confirmation number plus an e-mailed final statement. Be careful when you give out your credit card number. You may get more than you asked for. (From their website the following) To close your account, please contact Customer Support at [protected], Monday - Friday, 6 am - 6pm (PST). Thank you for your patience.

I just noticed they've been charging me 15.99 a month for the last 6 months. For nothing! I never even heard of this place.

We had Stamps.com for over 2 years with no problems. They only charged our credit card AFTER our 30 day free trial.

If you don't want to be charged you have to let them know before the 30 days is up.

Their website is very plain about what you're doing. It says you're getting a 4 week free trial of their services. I even went to the website to see if there were any major changes. Their site is almost identical to most of the other trial stamp services. They call you within a few days of signing up to tell you and if you're not there they leave a message.

I hope everyone goes to their site and looks at it and decides on their own if Stamps.com deserves the complaint that you put here.

Stamps.com - rip-off!

I signed up for a free trial of stamps.com through inboxdollars.com. I never downloaded the software or used any stamps, and I tried multiple times to cancel my account. Their site states that if you do not use the postage you are entitled to a refund:

http://www.stamps.com/support/general/account/refunds/postage-refunds/

However, they have turned me over to the RMCB collections agency. I sent RMCB a fax notifying them that I did not use any of the postage and I do not feel that the $79.95 is a legitimate charge.

Their site is talking about postage, you are disputing service fees. These are not the same thing. If you sign up for something that has service fees, even if you don't use it, you usually don't get the service fees back. Good luck with your collections, maybe they will agree with you.
