We bought carpet from Lowes and it was installed on Tuesday (8/23) for a home we just moved into. We knew they subcontracted out and that was fine. What was not fine is the poor job the installer did. We now have multiple seams in our master bedroom and the one seam is fraying already after less than a day. Also the carpet is not cut properly so in spots it doesn’t even touch the wall. Lowes came out to see the carpet and we were told it was fine and there was nothing that can be done. The exact quote on the fraying seam was "Yeah, that’s how they look…..that’s not going anywhere”. That was a waste of several hundred dollars (nearly $700) for poor installation and no assistance from Lowes to remedy the problem. NEVER again will we use Lowes for carpet. I find it unacceptable that Lowes will not remedy the situation or at least give us a partial refund since the fraying carpet will only get worse .

My wife and I had new stainmaster carpets installed a year and a half ago by our local Lowes. The carpets started showing seams and when we complained to Lowes, they sent out the installer to try and rework the seams. Now the seams are fraying and coming apart completely. I want my old carpet back... as it looked better than this!
Don't know where to go next, short of filing a lawsuit...
