I was called about 3 weeks ago. A message was left on my phone saying that I needed to contact them or there was be papers sent to my house to pursue a lawsuit. I called and talked to a lady Rachel. We both started yelling and I hung up on her. Well the next day after I cooled down I called and apologizes to her. She in return did the same. We talked and set up payments. The first payment went thru. Well the next one is to come out on the 31st of Oct. I called to see if I could have this payment moved back because I ran into some financial problems. (she has a blank check so I assumed that it wouldn't be a problem.) I called and talked to a nice lady, told her my situation and she told me to hold on that se was going to se if she could do that. Well a few minutes later this guy came on named David. He asked me what he could do for me so I told me my story. He then became rude; I told him that he didn't have to be so ugly and he told me that he was not ugly and as a matter of fact he was quite attractive. He then proceeded to tell me that I was the one being rude trying to talk over him. Well it exclated from there and I hung up on him. I called back a few moments later and asked to speak to Rachel, the girl asked who was calling and I told her that I just needed to talk to Rachel. Well she put me on hold. A few moments later David came on the phone and asked why I hung up. I said I want to talk to Rachel. He refused then I said I want to talk to you manager, he told me he was the manager so I said I want to talk to some one other than you. Well there was silence, he finally put me on hold. Then someone came on the phone. (it sounded like him trying to desquise his voice.) I said I want to talk to Rachel, the person said this is Rachel, a I said no it's not, and they told me to quit playing games. I said I'm not but this is not Rachel; they said I have a cold. Well I sat there a few minutes and she finally asked me if I was going to settle this or were they going to have to pursue the lawsuit and take the whole amount of $475.00 (which I've already paid $237.50). I told her the I was only calling back to make a complaint on the guy named David. She ignored what I said and pursued the question that she had asked me before. I finally said yes that I would come up with the money some how. I really don't believe that this was Rachel because there were several occassions where she would cover the phone and say something to whoever and then you would hear laughing in the back ground.

I received a call in a one (1) week timeframe both from Kelly Stevens from the Processors Office. She advised me quite sternly that a lawsuit and papers were going to be served to my home and place of work and I would need to go to court. End of each message she left was with her stating my first and last name advising I have been officially served". When I called the number they left [protected]) found out it is SRS Law Firm and spoke with Gina Morgan. She advised it was for a debt that was opened in 03/2009 and charged off in 09/2011 for a bank I don't ever recall doing business with but it's possible but was from so long ago, told them I honestly don't remember. They said Wachovia Bank was merged with Wells Fargo and I would need to contact Wells Fargo for more information. They only provided an account number and could not provide any information if it was for a credit card, a mortgage, nothing. They said they only received my SS#, amount due and name bank via fax received. In speaking with Gina at SRS was advised I can either pay it in one lump or partial payments. I advised if I had time to research for I won't make payments to something I know absolutely nothing about. She said yes.

If it is a legitimate past debt, then by all means I will make good and make payments I can afford but that is one hell of a way to present yourself with no company name, no information just send me payments. I am unsettled they had my SS# too. I don't know how to confirm if this is legitimate or not because it goes past five (5) years.

God I love the people who put their time into reviews. It gives me a peace of mind of what to expect and how to approach the situation. None of this would be possible without all of you. Thank you to all!

Because I also received a voicemail from this company.
Have not called them back yet. Had to first find out who and how ugly this business is.

This is a scam! We were called today saying we owed a creditor, and the case was being moved to some county. Alan Foster, [protected], x159 was the caller. As soon as he said we didn't pay a bill, I knew it was a scam. I just told him that it was untrue, and he said for my husband to have 2 forms of identification for the prosecutor who is coming to get him, then he hung up. LOL These scammers are shameless.

I totally agree with the complaint. I was called by them even though I set up payments with the company I owed the money to. They didn't want to hear it. They will get their money and in return my dog died, no money to treat him. Can't eat or get medicine I need I'm 68 on social security. They just didn't care. I got upset and yelled and they couldn't figure out why. Spineless, cold hearted it what they are. One more thing I can't pay my rent so I'll be 68 homeless again.

People need to fight against srs. They are wrongfully extorting vulnerable people for profit. Srs is just another greedile corporation masquerading as a charity organisation. The system we have all depended on sets everyone's place in life by are birth status. Few are lucky to leave that station of birth, others have to seek help and hope for mercy. When you go in to srs to get help you are treated In superior, un educated, and degraded ( part of the controlling process). If you were not already feeling in addiquite now they are trying to gain money back from government spending and blame it on the poor. Which we all pay into srs budget from taxes, so is it really charity? I think it sad that we live in a world where this treatment of our peers is seen as the norm. Everyone needs. Voice and a platform to fight for their rights. I am creating a Fb support group.Maybe this frustration and harm the srs is causing numerous people all over the country can fuel a movement to start a change for people down on their luck financially.

I was also contacted by SRS and Associates, but they said I was going to be served and they would send a cop to arrest me and put me in jail telling me that it was a class A felony. I did co-sign for an ex boyfriend but have never received info from the company telling me I owe them anything. They cursed me and said I will go to prison if I don't pay. After reading all the complaints and finally talking to a lawyer, they said to cancel my bank card number (which I gave) and to not pay a dime to them until I have papers explaining my debt from the actual company. They scared me so I complied, I do feel I am responsible for the account but they way they did it was illegal and I am going to take action. When I cried thinking I was going to jail I was told to grow the f*** up. They caught me when I was most vunerable and did say they were lawyers. Please if this company has contacted you and harassed you make a complaint!

So, I set up payments with this company for a debt that I shouldn't be paying on, but they were quite harsh and even had a company call me stating that I needed to call SRS and speak with them or I was going to be served with legal papers. I called and set up payment arrangements which were quite generous on my behalf. First things first, I did record the conversation (only on my end since I don't have the ability to record whoever is on the other end.) The agreements were set up for specific dates. The first payment was fine however the second payment came out a day early and an amount that was not agreed upon. After reviewing CA and PA state laws on collections, I am now taking aggressive action back towards them. I was going to be calling 24 hours in advance like I had been told to ask to move my payment to pay the entire amount off we agreed upon on the next date as we experienced a flood which we have to move. Now, since they did this, it is impossible and now we have to find somewhere else to go that we don't have to pay to move there. When I spoke with them and informed them of the recording, they asked that I send it, which I did. I also included in the e-mail that I wanted a proof of debt, as well as a contract that we agreed upon with their letter head and any recordings that they have of our conversation. After an hour of not hearing from them, I called back. What I came to find was that the rep. that I was dealing with wasn't there. Surprise I think not. This time, I made sure to record the conversation with the person that I had on the phone and asked them the name of their company. He said they are SRS & Associates. I asked if they were a Lawfirm and they said no, they are a mediation and litigation firm. I also asked for their address and he asked what it was for and I said to request a proof of debt from them, as well as a copy of the agreement that I had set up with the person I spoke with. He asked who my debt was with and I told him that it was with a company that no longer had it and had sold it to someone else. (I know, I didn't know my rights at the time this all started in March.) He wouldn't provide me with the information and said that he couldn't see my file because it was probably "locked up in his office." Any other time when I called and didn't have a case number, they would look me up in the system to identify me and verify it was me, then transfer me. My rep's boss is a paralegal. Now, I know that a paralegal isn't very high up on the totem pole as my friend is a paralegal and she stated that what has occurred is wrong and that I need to get my documentation together now and all information from them as they have my personal information that I am entitled to at any point in time that I request it. We will see what happens because I did leave a message for the rep. to call me back and stated all of the information that I need and that due to the actions that were taken by them that it changes a lot of things. We will see where this goes...

I too was called by this company and yes, I got the law suite line and litigation routine. I set up a payment arrangement for once a month and low and behold they took the money out twice in one week and told me it was a "computer" error and would not discuss cleaning up their error. I have it in writing the payment arrangement, I have the electronic statement from the bank where they took it out twice in one week. Hello, what's wrong with these people. I will file a complain with the FTC about them also since I have it all in writing ... thanks for the letter folks ... and I will notify the local TV stations for them to review the information. Now to block them from my bank account and my phones.

I too was called by this company today. They stated that there is a civil lawsuit against me and they would be serving me with papers. They gave me a time frame for the "paper serving" and if that was not a good time, to call them and let them know when would be a good time...really? Do they really think people are that stupid? Plus, how stupid are they that they would actually leave a message on an answering machine lying about the civil case...that in its self will hang them.
I will be filing a complaint with the FTC about them and if I can find a legit address for them will send them a formal dispute letter.
I work with the Attorney Generals from most states, and the PUC on a daily basis..Im sure they would love to hear about these people.
If any one is having problems with numerous calls from them or any one else, you can get google voice and block the numbers so when they call, it tells them that the number is no longer in service...its great...that and sprint now has a way to block numbers as well from your account on their web site.

I've never been called by this company but I will tell you this. Yes, they were wrong to threaten and harass you, and yes, they were wrong for calling your family members. I used to work in collections so I know what I'm talking about. If you go on any collections FAQs site, you would see clearly that collection laws vary by state. There are federal and state laws collectors have to follow. First and foremost, the creditor who originally claimed the debt can take you to court. It is all up to them. I worked for HSBC and they didn't believe in taking people to court but I know banks like TCM and BOA do. They only take you to court to see basically to see if they can garnish your wages which again varies by state. If your state is a wage garnishing state respond to the lawsuit claim. Other than that if they contact your parents and they say you don't live there, they cannot call them back. If they get an answering machine, they have no idea if you live there are not so they will treat it as their home number. Also it is required that they identify themselves and their company to anyone if they are asked. That's federal law.

how is everyone today ok i would to say something they cannot garnish they cannot take you to court. this is a junk debt collector which means they buy old debts and try to threaten you to make you pay them. they have called me tweo times this week and once in september. i have called the better business bureau and that is what the lady told me. and i agreee we should file a formal complaint and sue the hell out of them and i hate to tell them but we will win. and you may also call the nj general attorneys office and file a complaint. this is what they do guys they think thier being smart and threatening people well let me tell you this if somone shows up at my place of employment i will have them arrested for harrassment. they have no legal right to garnish wages or put a lien on your taxes so what they say is all idle threats and they cannot do any of them. they have had multiple complaints and they will be stopped

I am a collection manager for a collection agency.William Bellamy called me from their office threatening to sue me and the person he was calling about. I informed him I have no contact with that person. He told me to quit playing f***ing games. He identified himself as calling from Law Offices of ? I asked him to repeat the company and he refused. He told me he was going to sue me and the other person. I asked him how he was going to sue me and he told me because I was married to her. Never been married to her or anything. I told him my wifes name and he accused me of lying. Everything he did was against the law. I will be sending a letter to the Colorado Collection Agency Board and since they represented themselves as an attorney, I will also be sending a letter to the Colorado Supreme Court Disciplinary Counsel. It is people and companies like this that give legitimate collection agencies a bad name. Don't judge all collection agencies because of idiots like this. I have already discussed this with an attorney and they will pay for thier choice to be ignorant of the law.

I just received a voice mail today from this company. They did not identify themselves as SRS & Associates, but rather they alluded that they were a legal company. They said that they were going to send out a processor to my mother's home and take me to court. They also politely told me that I would not have a failure to appear warrant issued. Talk about freaking me the hell out! I am a full time college student and I only work one day a week. I don't remember ever taking out a credit card when they said I did. These people are Liars! When I told them that I wanted their address so I could request proof of debt they told me that they wouldn't have that information and I would have to call some bank. [censor]! You contacted me threatening me then YOU have to prove I owe you. If they cannot prove my debt I'm gonna sue their [censor] for Harassment.

ketch inc which is in Wichita, Kansas has lot of discrimination in regard of getting hours. The person who makes schedule give hours to especially black guys on the base of internal, personal and sexual terms. Whereas the related person should give hours equally those who put their name on over time list. Inside the KETCH most of the people knows about this but no one is taking any actions. Even the director and president. Can SRS investigate on this issues? please provide answer would be helpful. We need to make our work environment clear and clean.

I have been getting threatening phone calls from them as well. I am so glad that I thought to look them up online. They are bullies and they tell so many lies that it is ridiculous. Threatening you with prosecution for debts owed across state lines and everything else under the sun. I will be asking them for a letter outlining the debt in detail. They want my credit card information and given the statements made here online, I am not comfortable giving these people access to my credit card information.

Neisep, dont talk to them anymore, if they threaten a court case tell them you will see them in court, you cant escape it if they want to pursue it in court but if you show up the burden will be on their shoulders to prove you do owe it and 9 times out of 10 they cant. Chances are you will never get served with court papers. I had a ### hole company call me about 2 months ago threatening to take me to court if I didnt pay up, I told them ok, see ya there and they stated to me that I would see papers from a harris county officer within 2 weeks to serve me papers, its been 2 months and nothing, they know they have no ground to stand on so they scare you into thinking they can take your money.

I agree with all the people above, this company will use and do anything to get you to pay. They rely on scare tactics and big words such as "legal" and" case number" but what they are reffering to is their own case number not any legal case number from a court because they actually have to file the law suit first and have you served before they can threaten you. People, read up on these jokers, they cannot and I mean cannot garnish your wages at all before they take you to court, secondly is the fact that most of the time they will NEVER take you to court because they dont have the paperwork needed to prove their case and if they do take you to court by every means nessasary SHOW UP! They are hoping that it scares you so you dont show up and get a judgement against you without proving anything, you dont show up you lose automatically and then there is absolutely nothing you can do. Read up on the statutes of limitations as well for your state and the regulations of garnishments, like here in Texas they cant garnish my wages at all even if there is a judgement and the statute of limitations is 4 years, after that its a bad debt bought to collect and scare. I just got a call from these freaks, he left a message saying I needed to call him back ASAP and used a very stern voice and I tell you I was really amused, these ###ers think they are going to get one past me they really have another thing coming. I went after Goive law firm in new york, guess what they are closed now and 17 people arrested for illegal acts, I went after another one in NC and they have not called me since and from what I have read the AG for NC is all up their ###, this company is next, I will use any and every means at my disposal to rid the world of this company, they are nothing but ### who deserves nothing less than ### rapes. Go to Budhibbs.com and read up on all these companies and you will learn alot about what practices they use and how to get them to stop their ###. Its time to rock and roll, bring it on ###!

These people left a voice mail at my parents house where I have not lived in 6 yrs nor have ever used my parents phone number. Mya parents are elderly and they threatened a law suit against me and upset them so bad. I did a google search and found this information. I will be contacting someone to file a complaint against them and will also ensure this hits the local news in PA. This is illegal and threatening me was the wrong thing to do. I don't tolerate it nor will I sit back and let it go.

These so called representatives of a law firm not only contacted me and were very rude, they distastefully contacted my 80 year old mother and harassed her. They told her I had used her name and number to take out a loan and because of this she was being contacted because they were going to file criminal charges against me and possible charges against her. Who does that? SRS and Associates are a collection agency full of bullies. In my case namely Alexis G. She angered me to the point of profanity. She asked me if I was on probation and pretty much insinuated I was a loser! I am proud of being a productive member of society who has been working for 37 years of my life. Sure I have ran into financial issues but try to make good on all debts. You can call and try to bully me all you want, but my mother is off limits. You are an underpaid collection agent who get your rocks off bullying elderly! You and I both know this is illegal.

I agree with the complaints lodged above. I have been called by this company alleging they are a legal firm. They threatened to sue me and to serve me papers on my job. They caught me at a particularly vulnerable time and given my line of work I did not want to risk being served at work. I set up payment arrangements with this "lawyer" and was unable to keep the second half. When I tried to make arrangements to rectify the situation I was belittled by another of their female representatives. A voice mail was left on my cell phone saying that they could not believe that a person in my profession (stating it clearly) would lack integrity. Then when I called back and confronted the woman she continued to be rude and unprofessional. I advised her I would call her back and did several times. Once I finally made contact she refused to work with me saying the bank doesnt "trust" me. When we finally reached an agreement she informed me of additional fees that would be required--then started yelling at me and accused me of not wanting to pay my obligations. I finalyl asked to speak to her boss and a man (who I believe was the original man that I spoke to in December) identified himself as the VP. He ended up setting up the arrangements on my terms-without the fees. I advised him a transcription of my voice mail was going to be sent to the company---BE WARE OF THIS COMPANY! They are all about the threats---and scare tactics. Know your rights---dont let them scare you. Incidentally-my debt was under $500 as well. I shouldnt have let them force me into arrangements that are going to hurt my budget. DONT LET THEM DO IT TO YOU! Ask for proof of debt!

I would like to agree with the person complaining. I am a hard working single mom who is just making ends meet. I have had my identity stolen and as anyone who has gone through this sort of thing knows, no one ever believes you. After being contacted by this SRS agency, I would have to say it is the worst experience I have ever gone through. I do my best to pay my bills in a timely manner, and by all means- if I owe something, I will pay it. These people have contacted me "threatening" civil suit. First of all, know who you are dealing with before you make hollow threats. After going through the nightmare of having your identity stolen, you know a thing or two about protecting your rights. Such as- I am requesting a valid copy of the supposed debt I owe. This is my legal right under the fair credit reporting act. If you cannot provide it to me, consider the debt null and void. After letting the "legal representative" on the other end of the phone know this, I was then told the only way I could have documentation is if I make a payment arrangement. I am here to tell you, this is not only illegal, it is not happening. I do not blindly give people my account number, thanks. PROVE to me I owe it, who the original creditor is, what their phone number is so I can contact them, and THEN and only THEN will I pay on it. Don't call me with your see through scare tactics. That crap may work on amateurs, but not someone who has been through the mill trying to straighten out her name. You are NOT legal representatives, you DO NOT work for a law firm, and you have no legal authority whatsoever. You are collectors, working in a boiler room for probably $12 an hour plus whatever you can make trying to scare the piss out of the hard working people in this country. Find someone else to scare, this one isn't budging...

Allow me to reply.

I work for SRS and Associates. I know exactly who you are. I will of course honor your request to leave your name unannounced.

You called when Rachel was sick. We tried explaining to you that she was in but she had lost her voice because she was sick. When we placed Rachel on the phone you insulted her and belittled her when she tried to explain to you that she was sick. You called her a liar. You were rude enough to reduce her to tears. You resorted to cursing on the phone with our staff. Then you wondered why we would not bend over backwards to assist you.

Ma'am, courtesy is a two way street. In this tough economic time, our clients are more prone to litigation rather than letting people make small monthly payments because more often than not, those arrangements are broken. It doesn't make these people bad people on either side. As you yourself see, the arrangements that you made were not able to be consummated.
