Computer technical support (Roku)
On friday, sept. 11, 2015, needing assistance to install our roku device for streaming, we called the 800# in the roku manual for support. an indian (pakaistani) man with a thick accent answered and said he could help us install the roku. he then went on to say we had "bugs" in our computer. to make a VERY long story short, after talking to 4 spurtek employees (saying i needed a level 3 microsoft technician) and after having allowed them into my computer they wanted $319.99 to "fix" said issues eg: 200-400 viruses, ip addresses at risk, no security protection, etc. i gave them and e-check for $219.99 with the balance of $100. to be paid via e-check in october. i repeated that all i wanted was my roku up and working. he promised me that would be accomplished. "peter" told me to leave my computer on overnite and he would call me in the morning (saturday). he did call, but when i went to bed friday nite i just didn't feel right about this whole thing. i called my bank and put a stop payment on the e-check, which hadn't cleared yet, and also the future paymenet due in october. i talked to the fraud department telling them i was the victim of an internet "phishing" scam--i just knew it! so when peter calls back on saturday morning, i didn't mention the stop payment, and asked about the roku instl'n. he said he couldn't help me--i needed a "smart" tv! they called me several times over that weekend, and one of the area codes was from india. they said they were in irving texas, so whey did one of my calls originate from seattle, washington? i filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commision and also with microsoft. spurtek has now informed they have turned my account over to a collection agency. i am contacting all 3 credit bureaus and advising them of my saga. don't fall victim to theses scammers like i did. i'm so technically challenged that everything they told me and showed me in my computer i didn't know the difference and believed them--stupid me! 200-400 viruses?
Bank fraud took money
On 7/7/15, this happened to me. I thought I was on the Amazon.com/kindle support web page. I thought I was getting into Kindle.com for tech support. Instead, I got this indian operator who said she was, "kindle support". I told her I lost my wifi address. She told me she could connect me to computer technical support and immediately transferred me to spurtek. "Victor" answered and asked for my email and went on to say that I was "being Hacked" by 17 people, that my computer and identity was in danger. I told him I had computer antivirus, security etc, and he said I did not have internet security on this computer and that my lifelock account was not good and I did not need it. He went on to say I would have lifetime coverage from all problems if I bought the $399.99 computer spyware and internet protection for a Lifetime. He refused my credit card and wanted my checking account routing numbers and direct payment account. I gave this crook 399.99 dollars! Now, 30 days later, on 8/5/15 spurtek called me back. He stated that "our accountant has informed us that the software we used is defective and we have to give you back your money as a refund. We need you to get into your computer, log on and get into your bank account and we will transfer the money Back to you using your online banking account". Now they want my online bank account! I called my bank and told them they called and they said, "no way it is a scam, hang up and report this". I canceled my debit card, closed my checking account, and destroyed all checks attached to that account. I reported this company spurtek to the BBB and there has been a complaint filed in april of 2015 on them. Total Scammers. Spurtek is scamming Seniors. Call the BBB in Dallas Texas USA and report any activity related to spurtek immediately.

I too had the same experience. Call your bank and have them cancel payment immediately.
My computer froze and a pop-up said your computer has been hacked, etc., etc., call Apple Support at [protected]. They have you open your computer via remote access and then you give them your checking account number and then they control your computer. Don't fall prey to this scam!
Fraud
Total scam. Scared my 80 year old mother into thinking someone hacked into her computer and then sold her firewall protection for $199.
Got her bank acc't #, routing # C and Amex number. Was able to cancel card and freeze acc't before any charges. Their website address is a UPS store in Texas.

I was uploading a new Kindle and they got into my computer. I foolishly gave them a routing number for my bank for $ 380.00 I couldn't get my Kindle load. Now they are trying to get more money saying they are going out business and are wanting to return my money, but they need me at my computer.
Spurtek technologies
yes, totally a scam. On 7/7/15, i called kindle support from what i thought was their web page. The operator answered, " kindle support". I had lost my wifi address and could not purchase a book. Oi had had alot of problems with my computer immediately, connected me to "spurtek" technologies, did not put me on hold. An indian male named victor, stated that, "your internet has been hacked! i see 17 people trying to get into your internet account"! scared me to death.
I told him that i had purchased spyware and protection with a local company and he told me that it was bad and not working, that i did not need "lifelock" either, which i have. He went on to clean out my computer, and demanded checking account and routing number from my checking account and one check. He refused to take a credit card. He got $399.99 from me. Then 30 days later, called me back and said, "our accountant has informed us that our software is bad, we need you to get online and give us your online banking info. We will watch you do it and we will refund your 399.99 back to your bank account, they were going to try and get more money from me! i then informed them that this was an illegal scam and i am reporting them to the fbi. They hung up.
I watched my account closely after that. They did withdraw the 399.99 one time and used a phony account number as the company only, no company name on my bank statement. I thought lifelock would pick it up. They didn't. I reported this to the bbb.
There is one report of a scam on this company back in april 2015! they are spurtek, located in irving, texas usa. They are indian and have a distinct accent. A female is answering the phone. I am contacting the it fraud and detectives in irving, texas, along with a written complaint to bbb dallas, texas division [protected] or bbb.Org/dallas.
My bank said that it is major fraud and because i gave them the routing no, i probably would not get my money back.
All persons that are trying to be scammed rep0rt it now.
Computer scam
All I have is this information, they are called Spurtek suposedly and they are harassing me, telling me my computer and accounts are being hacked into. I paid the one time fee because I believed them, there does not seem to be such a charge on my card yet. I'm afraid they have my cc information and can get into my accounts?! Please research and tell people never to agree. What a horrible mistake I made.
