Spur poorest service ever received

Visisted the spur on saturday morning for breakfast and waited for a simple breakfast almost two hours long. Gave them the benefit of the doubt and went back on sunday for lunch where the service received from the same waiter was even worst. The quality of chicken served was not edible. The manager suggested to try something else and even charged us for a take away burger! I think that was my last visit to spur not even to mention the public bathrooms that was disgusting.

Spur bad service

Good day

I had a very bad experience yesterday at spur in Summerstrand Port Elizabeth and left a bad taste in my mouth.

I made a booking three weeks back for my kids birthday party. I phone them back three days before the party just to confirm the amount of children and adults.

When I got there yesterday 3:40 there my tables hasn't been set up and guest and myself had to wait 30 min before we could be seated. I went to the manager and he had to move people from their seats and in order to make space for us witch is so unfair because they had to make the necessary arrangements for that.

Then one hour later the tables was set and we were officially seated. When we had to order there was only one waitor who served 34 people one person the other person that was there basically just walking around because when she took orders people had to walk after her to make sure I get there orders. We waited long for food drinks and everything it was very unprofessional service.

To top everything off when the bill come they had problems with the system and printing they loaded everything on one bill. The people got frustrated and went to pay on their own and the bill was so messed up they didn't take everything off the slip and I had to pay in witch is unfair they didn't do their job right and the one waitor was so flusted he didn't know if the was coming or going the service of the management was incompetent. This is the first time I received such bad service from spur.

They didn't even ask nor take my spur card or my childs birthday voucher I'm so disappointed in the service and treatment I received yesterday.

Spur poor quality food, manager seemed disinterested when we complained

we went for lunch at spur in george mall south africa.

the two hake dishes were the worst fish meals that my husband and friend had ever eaten.the fish was flat, cold and not fresh by the colour.

i had the soya burger and it again was cold, with an odd brown sauce on the top unpleasant texture and tasteless.

we all had onion rings which looked like they had been dumpted on the plate, no taste and the left overs from another plate.
the manager came over after we stated there was problems and he said he had just been informed about the fish.did not seem too interested
we had also seen several other people sending their meals back.

we paid for the water and left.
our trainee waiter david was very helpful and did his very best in the cercumstances and we have no issue with him.

We will never go into george spur again but we have been into knysna spur and the standards are very high

Spur meal

Ealier today my friends and I went to have a meal at Spur in Suncoast casino, the food and the service was lovely. My friends then later insisted that we also have dinner at Spur since we loved mostly the onion rings but in town West street this time. Our meals arrived, tjo the onion rings were bad and the rib patties were burnt. We were so disappointed.

Spur horrible ribs

Tonight my husband and I had supper at the FIG TREE SPUR at WALMER PARK PORT ELIZABETH

I ordered the 400g ribs, I am sure the meat was either horse or donkey meat, it was tough and tasted like cardboard.

In my 57 years I have never complained about food or sent my food back, this is the 1st time ever. The manager was very understanding and arrange a new plate of ribs. The 2nd plate of ribs was just the same as the 1st plate. I felt tooo bad to complain again so I took the meat and bones home for the dogs

I think you need to investigate this unless this is how all the branches ribs taste

This is also the 1st time in 57 years that I have actual put pen to paper to complain

Spur unethical behaviour

On Thursday afternoon I went to the newly opened Spur in Pine Crest Pinetown to order a full portion of buffalo wings and cheesy garlic roll as a take away, they gave me my food and I was asked to wait for the change, I waited for a good 30 minutes before deciding to leave without my change. I really don't understand why a customer must wait that long for the change or that's what they wanted, me to give up and leave my money. I was really pissed off please address it with your stuff we can't be subjected to that kind of behaviour

Spur poor service and food

My family and I visited the Rodeo Spur in Claremont. I have purchased the hyperli deals, more specifically the 3-course meal. We arrived at Spur at about +-17:00. Upon observation there were many open seats and not very busy.

Once seated, it took on average about 20 minutes to get the correct waiter for table number 24. we placed the order immediately as we knew what we wanted. The kids meal came in a respectable time. however when it came to the starters and main meal we waited 1.5 hours for food. The calamari starter was disgusting distasteful and hard and tough. The cheddamelt steak looks like offcut meat and put together. Then when i asked where the onion rings was they advised that they had run out. I mean really now running out of onions before sunset?

furthermore it was obvious that people who arrived well after us had been fed before us as they purchased from the menu...this is not fair. we also purchased additional items from the menu. Its not like we did not pay for the voucher to receive such putrid services.

This is not the first time that Rodeo spur provides under par service and food. Its actually a shame. This place will never get my money again.

Spur product and operator blue route mall spur

Good day
My wife an I went to the spur in blue route mall we placed an order for old school burgers a single and a double. Well my understanding is spur makes fresh food wrong spur still makes instance burgers tough hard taste less and the pan fried onions wrong at this spur they do deep fries ones. I asked to speak to a manager and a young lady come to the table she did not introduce her self but hay all cool I told her what I thought went down in back of house she could not say anything ok but the best part was that the operator who was there did not leave the pass as that must be the most important place in the shop not the front door or the guest. I would like you to know I think the spur brand is great I worked at spur for a long time and very proud to say that please don, t let [censored] operate your shops and think they can change a great name and food.

Spur bad staff treatment

To whom this may concern

Hope your day has been great so far .
I went to your klerksdorp spur a while ago but never thought i should bring it under your attention what i saw is wrong because groups as yourself is most of the time " never " wrong as you find fit to choose what to believe and what not to believe .
Never the less i had a few days to think it over and i now know i should talk otherwise your restaurant will not become better than the others out there but become exactly the same in every way possible .
I worked at " SPUR " many moons ago and the way your company of companies are doing things are wrong totally wrong, yes you marvelously came back in the game after the whole " RACIST " episode, but you know one thing that you can't overcome is the fact how your MANAGERS treat and speak to your " WAITERS " as we all know it's really not your " MANAGEMENT " that keep your consumers happy but ... your " WAITERS " because these days most of management cant even do their own " R'nM " the poor WAITERS have to do it .
I must give great respect to your " HEAD MANAGEMENT and OWNERS " as by my means of logic thinking they are still the ones keeping us there if it was not for them i would rather drive to potchefstroom then going to KLERKSDORP spur .
I should suggest that you learn your " JUNIOR management " to respect your waiters and if they dont know how they should " QUIT " while they are still ahead, because next time i see your FEMALE read-head MANAGER who wears the glasses treat your waiter/waitresses the way she is used to treating them i will make a scene in the shop, or because she acts like she's 16years of age she must leave her big headed attitude at home because with my knowledge a " junior MANAGER " should gain trust and respect and not force it upon the waiters and if she cant behave ask her to leave or transfer her or put her back as a waiter because " MANAGEMENT " is clearly not for her i can promise you that .

So i hope my email have been usefull because if it was my spur and i went there as a mystery customer she would have been fired just a thought .

Spur spur food

We arrived at Spur Gordon's Bay on the 01 of October 2018 at about 7 o clock the evening. Myself and my family planned on having a family dinner our waiter arrived at 15 minutes after we sat down as the spur was rather busy. The waiter took our orders and left to prepare food. 30 min later the waiter returned with our order the chips seemed as if it was baked in dirty oil it was different to the usual serving and was so soggy. The schnitzel was baked extremely hard. We ordered different meals and all the chips was the same at this point I then called management and he explained that the store had been so busy they ran out of majority of foods and they then he to go purchase bags of frozen chips at pick n pay and this was the reason why the chips seemed so unappetising. Staff and management seemed extremely overworked and unable to deliver the best service due to the fact that they were so tired. The manager Jonathan of Spur Gordon's Bay then offered myself and my family a waffle and ice cream to make up for the poor food. At this time my family had all lost appetite at this time only two of the 10 family members had a waffle, I myself had a cupacinno and my son a milkshake. In conclusion I would have liked the waiter to be upfront regarding the quality of the food to be served as I could have saved my time and money. I am aware that it was a busy day but I do believe quality control should have been done and the matter should have been dealt with more efficiently as I feel it was a completely waste of my money.

Spur food quality bad

Today we had a family outing and I decided to choose the nearest halaal Spur to the area that we were in which was Tomahawk Spur in Goodwood. My husband ordered the large 600 gram ribs and I ordered the 400gram ribs. the kids both had burgers. Firstly the kids burgers came and looked nothing like the pic. no lettuce no tomorrow nothing. we had to request for them to put on lettuce and tomatoes. Our ribs came with no lettuce tomato nothing and ribs had only meat on half way like the other half had been eaten off prior to us getting this. now for me to have spent almost R500 on a meal for my family which was as disgusting as this is not on. we go to Kenilworth spur all the time and the quality of this comes nothing close to what we experienced today. The food looked dry and tasteless and nothing like we use to. I paid and didn't put up a scene because I felt bad for my family as is for taking them there. Never again will Tomahawk Spur see us.

Spur unhealthy environment

On 16 September 2018 we visited the Grand Rapids Spur in Bluff

There was a cockroach walking on our table and along the window.

We called the Manager who just apologised and said that he will call the pest control as there is nothing else he can do.

We were disgusted and could not finish our meals which were only quarter way eaten.

The cockroach was still left to freely crawl around.

We were then made to pay for a meal that we did not even finish.

This is totally unacceptable and disgusting.

Spur food order on 6 september

We are very very regular customers at spur claremont. We ordered food for collection on 6 september at 19h15. We placed an order of lazy age medium rare with chips onion rings, 300g rump well done chips onion rings, nuggets and chips and 200g fillet medium with chips onion rings. We ask theblady that took our order to ask the manager to oversee it and to make sure there is no sinue in the steak. When picked up our order we could not eat it. The nuggets were fine. The lazy age got killed and over done not edible. The fillet steak was so raw it looked alive and so much sinue and impossible to eat. The 300 g steak was overdone and so much sinue. I was appauled by the service. I got no sauce. To pay over 600 for meal this pathetic. Im thinking of taking my business some place else!

Spur service

I went to Topeka Spur sometime in June for the first time and meet a good a humble Waiter by the name Spencer my husband and my brother we got attached to the great service .I was so disappointed we booked and asked for him to service us on 25th August 2018 on arrival l got stories from the waiter who was so Rude and the management lied l had brought my family hoping to get the best service please help us contact our old waiter the service was so bad l had to eat cold Nachos and my kids meal came after the main meals please stop running the shop like a Spaza.If the shop could find the best waiters like Spencer speed of service and very punctual .

Spur ordered through mr d and spur cancelled the order with no notification

Hi I ordered dinner through Mr D online, the order was acceptedn and My money was deducted off my card. The message said the delivery would take 40 minutes plus minus.
40 minutes later I get a message from Mr D to say my order was cancelled! When I called Mr D they told me that Spur Edenglen Ottawa told them that the Mr D driver arrived to collect the order and had miss placed the order so it was not made and now they were closed.
This is disgusting service and I really hope Spur Head Office does something about as they brining your name into disrepute.

Spur poor service

I booked a table for my daughters birthday party for the 25th. I made the booking approx two weeks prior. I requested a table from the manager that made the booking that would be convenient for my family and being able to keep a eye on my children. The manager confirmed with me and i was looking forward to her party. On the day i arrived at 17:00 fot the booking to find another kiddies party on the table i requested for. I was told the tables cannot be requested due to the amount of birthday parties on the day but it was confirmed by the manager i spoke to. We were given a table for the adults and a seperate table for the children where we cannot see them. Also we had a pram with and the allocated table also did not allow to have the pram with us as well. Where the table i requested offered everything we needed. I spoke with 3 different managers in store and all of them apologised saying there was nothing they could do. After arrival that was 17:00 we only received our drinks order at 18:10. With this we oreded 3 kiddies chocolate milksakes. Only 2 arrived at the table and my daughter never got one. Again we asked the manager to explain to my daugher where is her milkshake as all the other kids recived there drinks already. Another 5 minute wait and my daughter received her milkshake. Our food arrived at 18:40. This time already my daughter whos birthday it is, is fast asleep already. She never ate her food as it took too long. The desert that was included in the bithday pack came and the waiters sang to a child that was fast asleep. Again she did not have her ice cream or enjoyed her birthday at Spur Bigbay. I am so disappointed in the poor service we recieved and the lack from management. How can you run a bussiness like this. You are not customer centric and make your customers feel small with poor service and neglect. Waiting almost two hours just to eat and having kids thats hungry and telling them to wait their food is on the way but not knowing it will take this long. Honestly from my experiance with Spur steak ranches and being a waiter for 3 years. Starting out at Seven Spur in seapoint and being in the Spur that received the number 1 steak ranch in SA. I know service and where it was. Customers are now being neglected and so the children as well where they are the ones who want to go back to Spur. Needless to say our bill came to 1500.. Previous bills at the same spur are always around 800. The previous time we were there we received poor service and the time before that we had a newborn baby with us. When we asked the waitor to bring water for the babies bottle there were black flakes floating in the water...

Spur service

I came into a spur to have supper for me and my daughter I was looking at having some seafood and prawns and my daughter ribs. I asked for the hake and prawns but asked for my prawns to be on a side dish not on the fish so to explain that I pointed a picture in the menu book so my waitor got confused and order me the food on the picture instead as my plate came I thought it's crumed fish or fried fish only to find out its not its some sort of chicken I don't understand how that falls under seafood on the menu I call her to explain she calls the manager and they seem to understand next to me but they walk next to the grill and have a loud conversation about what happened regarding me I sat uncomfortable where I was listening to them Quarle the lady comes back and I ask her what was that all about she says manager was shouting at her about the miss understanding and she will have to pay the meal with her tips but I didn't refuse to pay the bill so I don't understand I don't even find it professional to shout in front of customers this all happened in norkem park spur at about 6:30

Spur poor quality of food received from silver chief spur bloemfontein

On 9 Aug we ordered through Mr D Order number #DFD5221008 from Silver Chief Spur.

1) The spare ribs received were completely charred/burnt on the one side and inedible. I took photos of the burnt ribs as proof of the state of the food.

2) The Chocolate brownies were also ordered with cream and was received with ice cream

This was unacceptable food as well as service.

Spur open late, staff chatting ignoring customers and rats running free in restaurant

On the morning of 1 Aug 2018 I had a meeting scheduled at Spur Braamfontein. I met a lady outside the office at 6h50 and she indicated opening time is 7h00. I went to Spur at 7h20 was greeted by a waiter who had a broom in his hand. He showed me a table while the rest of the staff were chatting in the back. A few of the females started screeming and jumping onto the couches. Shouting rats rats. Then the waiter arrived and said the coffee will take long as they have to still switch on the stoves and kettle. Totally unacceptable. Opening late. Disrespectfull to customers. Rats. Not being able to serve coffee at 7h20. Seriously this is not the way customers should be treated.

Spur manager and staff service and attitude

I'm still sitting here at Spur Red Mountain at Paarl Mall, after being told that phone charging services are available the waiter told me she will help me, but then the manager Sipho she is a female told me that she won't help me and won't allow it, I asked her if she was worried about the phone getting lost or stolen? She replied No! We can't help you!
