this place is a puppy mill they sold me a sick miniature dachshund. he was diagnosed with giardia-canine which is an intestinal parasite usually caused from bad living conditions. i reported the illness to the owner she is a liar and very rude. she said she would call me the next day i had to call her and she said she was still at work but when i threatened to contact the aspca of austin he laughed at me and was said " well i have u on speaker phone and my daughter is recording you" which apparently means she wasnt at work. dont trust this lady or her website they are BS!

I visited this place TEN years ago and I see nothing has changed. We only bought my dog because I wanted him out of there. This is absolutely a puppy mill. The puppies were all underweight with long nails, weimaraners kept in small chicken wire bins with poop in their food dish and flies everywhere! I work with horses so when i say flies everywhere, I mean really, everywhere. In her trailer she washed my pup with bleach (he reeked of it) explaining that it killed the fleas and showed me the adult dog food she fed the puppies (my pup was emaciated). Such a slob. I really can't believe people buy mail order dogs period but if you must, find a dedicated breeder. Hint - real breeders don't breed 7 different breeds. Puppy mill trash! Do not promote SAR!

This place is a puppy mill. I went out there in 2009 in response to an ad for corgi puppies. There were multiple breeds of dogs in cages that were way too small with no water. She showed me the corgi puppy, and when I asked to see the father she said no because when that had taken people to see where the father was kept previously they had called the authorities on her. So she did not want to take me back there because she did not want any more trouble. As we were driving away, my heart was absolutely broken for those poor animals. Those people do not care for the animals and it is the definition of a puppy mill. People need to stop buying her dogs and allowing her to stay in business.

I agree with complaint. I had a similar experience with a cocker spaniel that was very sick. When I called the owner, her sister answered and was belligerent and hung up. The place has all the signs of a puppy mill. I can't believe they haven't been shut down.

I have bought two dogs at different times from Laura. Both were VERY healthy and I love dealing with her. I have a Pyr and a Red Heeler. I would never buy from anyone else!

I bought a corgi puppy from Laura at Spotted ### Ranch in April of 2004. It was very sick. I tried to get it well by spending $700 at the internal medicine vet in South Austin, but they said the pup would possibly need a blood transfusion. I got my money back for the pup, but it died, and I still spent almost a grand and ended up with a broken heart. DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS BUSINESS!

I saw this woman in a flee market stall at buzzie's and I was not surprised to see her selling more poor health animals. My family bought a horse from her some time ago and she may not have remembered me but I remembered her. The horse we received was actually a good purchase, healthy strong and still with us, but we all remembered the dogs. We went to her property to pick up the horse and we could here the dogs from there. It was a hot day even by texas standards and the down wind stench was intense. My father is a small time breeder (only two breeding pairs and they all see a vet before they go home with anybody and receive there first shots). He enquired about the dogs, being a breeder himself, and immediately the mood changed. She agreed to bring out a select female or male but would not let us view the kennels or her breeding pair. The male puppy she produced had "gunky" eyes and an obvious kennel cough. When my dad showed no interest in the pup (despite the extreme low price) she then produced a female puppy, it's gums were pale and it had an obvious ear infection on one side. We took no puppies, left with the horse, and reported what we saw to the sheriff's office. Just a few months ago a friend of mine showed me a business card she got from the flee market after finding inexpensive puppies ad low and behold there she was. I took a good look at several of her pups and found flees, dirty ears, pale gums, and no shot records for these supposedly registered puppies. We all need to realize these puppies are inexpensive for a reason, you want a good quality pet you need to do the research, see the breeding pair, the kennels, and read the guarantee before you sign it!

I also went to see advertised Blue Heeler pups 2.5 years ago and was disgusted with the place. They brought one pup up to the "office" and would not let me see the parents or any others, claiming it would get the dogs stirred up. The dogs were already stirred up and barking, screaming, crying and whining - MANY of them. Unfortunately, I got there before they were ready for me and looked around a little bit in the front area. That was enough to make me want to vomit and I still feel bad when I think it is still in business. There were hundred of dogs and many breeds, all crowded and in nasty conditions. I saw rotten wounds, animals living in filth and buckets of feces rotting everywhere. The BH puppy was good looking and I wanted to rescue it, but could not bring myself to support this nasty business. One clue is that they require you to sign a waiver before purchasing the animal that frees them from any liability regarding the animal's health. I called the TEXAS Texas State Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners, Humane Society and ASPCA-all say to call the local county Sheriff. That's my next step - I have to do something else, though I doubt it will do much. There is probably a reason why they are still in operation. I think they're in Gonzales County, but near the border with Guadalupe County. Gonzales County sheriff: [protected], Guadalupe County Sheriff: [protected]. Mike

I bought my precious toy fox terrier from her 3 years ago and he is the best decision i've ever made.
I am a Vet Tech, and while he had long toe nails and needed a good ear cleaning, he was healthy and loving at the time of purchase. It was MY responsibility to get him vaccinated and dewormed, which is customary when investing in a puppy. Giardia is just a worm that is treated with a $5 pill.
I also rescue and foster dogs and I would NEVER support a puppy mill. My dog is healthy and cherished and this lady, while not the most kind woman, is not a puppy mill!
I would love to have 20 more just like my toy fox terrier and would be confidant buying from spotted [censor] ranch.

The only [censor]s are you two. How dare you wishing people to be childless! you think more of your dogs than people. You need to quit playing with your dog and go to church and get educated.

I visited there today when we answered an ad for blue heeler pups. This place is definitely a PUPPY MILL. Hundreds of dogs in too-small cages and kennels in filthy conditions. Dogs were living in their own feces and without clean water to drink on a day in the high 90's outside. Called animal control and they seemed like they had more important things to do than even take my name and number. Do not buy a dog from these people!

the word puppymill is slander...sue this poster !

You should not own the puppy or any puppy in the future if you cannot apprecite your breeder. God, no wonder puppies are so hard to find and more so why so many breeders do not even want to breed puppy's anymore, all you petty-### buyers.

Giardia... ? you are on here complaing about Giardia...who cares. Its common comes from stress especially when moving from one enviroment to another.

I agree with the complaint. I bought a puppy in late February from them, took to the Vet the next day and she tested positive for Sarcoptic mange (highly contagious to other animals and humans). Laura agreed to pay $100 of the Vet bills which was nothing in comparison. Needless to say, she never did. I will be filing suit and I've already been in contact with Luling Animal Control and the health department...funny, they knew the address without me telling them. I plan on making their life VERY uncomfortable, just like the animals they neglect!
