I returned products that I ordered from catalogue online in May. I kept tracking information to see that it was delivered. I could not see that it was received so started calling only to be told that it would take 6 to 8 weeks for credit to go back on my card. I called again after that time period had gone by only to be told that the mdse was not received. After being on the phone for quite a while, finally got a C.S.person to log it in as received. I was told that the credit be posted to my account within 2-3 business days.I received confirmation that they had received mdse.along with note 6-8 wks for credit. You can see where this all went. After being threatened that I may receive a bill from Spiegel, I finally (September 1, ) got the credit to my card! 4 Months! Do not buy if there is any idea that you may want to return.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
It has been 5 weeks since my return was confirmed received by Spiegal. I have called twice and am getting the run around about the time to "process" my order. I wish I had found this website previoulsy! I will NEVER buy from them again.
Will NEVER purchase anything from Spiegel again! How can they get away not giving credit for returned items in a timely manner. It's been 3 months since my return. Have called numerous times only to hear that they will have a manager call me. Now I will take legal action!

Buyer Beware, er Buyer AVOID Spiegel altogether! Spiegel makes fraudulent phone calls to verify date of birth and social security number for their identity theft fraud scheme, to make false charges. Spiegel does not honor coupon codes. Spiegel makes hidden charges on your invoice. DO NOT make any credit card purchases with Spiegel. Spiegel does not deserve your business nor does the company deserve to be in business!

**** LIKE JROSE63 WROTE: BUYER BEWARE **** IF YOU MADE THE MISTAKE of ordering from Spiegel, notice the "order summary" they sent you with items that you ordered, on the reverse (in gray, fine print) it states: "for merchandise returned AFTER 60 days, you will receive a merchandise credit, good toward any future purchase" CONTRADICTION, on the website it states you (only) have 30 days [la-di-da] to return items for a REFUND. I returned some clothng to them within 30 days, (verified with tracking #). Guess what I got from Spiegel?. An email stating the following: "Because your return was received after 30 days, we've issued a Spiegel refund certificate for the total amount of $89.00, which can be used towards any future Spiegel purchase." Well, I called them up immediately.
Guess what the first question Spiegel asked me ? "What is your certificate number?" (The girl said so she could void it, before they could issue a refund, [adding insult to injury] ). So, they are worried I'm going to turnaround and use the certificate, while I am waiting for my refund. Whats the problem ? Why can't they do it immediately ? They got the product already, 2 weeks ago. Regardless... I just have to wait... and wait some more... I am mostly concerned about others that don't dispute these kind of "shenanigans". You KNOW there are people out there that won't dispute such things. Especially the elderly. Is that what Speigel is betting on ? hmmmmmm...
So, which 'return policy' prevails, the one on the back of the 'order summary (60 days) they send with items ? --OR -- the online policy
(30 days) ? Or perhaps they cherry pick ? You know, "policy of the day" type of thing. Maybe it depends on which way the wind is blowing.
I won't be ordering from them again. Who has time to babysit a major company, that allows this kind of practice ? Not me.

I am going through the same process with Spiegel. I ordered items in my usual sizes and found their product to be way too large and had to return. They admit that they received them in a timely fashion, but claim it is their policy not to make the refund for two billing cycles.
I asked them what "two billing cycles" meant and they grudgingly admitted that this could be two months.
Is there any recourse with these vendors? Will I ever get my money back?
They should not be allowed to continue to operate in this fashion.
I agree. They are terrible about processing returns and then they give you merchandise credits because it is past 30 days. They receive the items within 30 days, but do not process them until much, much later. Total scam. When I returned items from my first order, they pulled this on me and now I keep having to order from them and return items that don't work and then go through the same frustrating process again. Buyer beware.
