Speedway rude workers in a crisis

My daughter locked her keys and phone in her car. I was trying to get her help; however, I am in a different state. I tried to call the gas station to ask if she was still there and to let her know if was still working on finding her help. They were very rude would not even look to see if she was still there.

I hope one day your attendant has a child stranded someone and the people there are as rude to him.

Thankfully, some helpful customers allowed her to use their phone, since your staff was less than helpful!

A line out the door and you want them to take the time to look for your daughter? Pissed off customers on the phone is one thing, but if I'd been in that line and the employee at the register answered, much less suddenly took off outside, I'd be raging. Think before you complain. The staff wasn't rude, they were doing their job correctly.

Speedway service from juan

Why are you guys hiring ex felons and crackheads to run your store. This guy named juan in fort lauderdale off 17th street on A1A is the most disrespectful excrement of a being on this planet. i will not be returning to your store after today. i've been going to this same place for 5 years and this idiot comes out provoking me over the purchase of 4 beer cans. There's a 24hr deli right down the street and other gas stations nearby i am done with this ghetto freaking place and will make sure everyone knows how ghetto and rejects like this man shouldn't be dealing with clients.

5 years and you didn't know it was ghetto? Man, I feel bad for your lack of awareness. Or is it just one person can set you off? Really? Wow. 4 beer cans. You really needed that beer, huh? Sounds like Juan got rid of the most aggravating customer that store had if you're buying 4 beers instead of 6 or 12 from a ghetto gas station for 5 years straight. You know what I think? You came in, probably reeking of booze, and copped an attitude with Juan. But you're going to put this on him and his store because, like most alcoholics, you can't admit when you're wrong.

Speedway gas

I personally only put speedway gas in my car
And I visiting the speedy way on linden Blvd across the steeet from Kevin Lamont miller jr I had gave the sale associate $15 dollar and told her pump to regular she was to busy laughing on her phone she put $5 dollars at my pump I go back and explain to the customer tht I gave her 15 dollars and she doesnt want to do anything about it I have went back and fourth with her for over 30 min the associate name is MARVA because of her I will make sure I never go to another gas station by speedway i lost 15 dollar she refuse to even give me my 5 dollars back and my time wasted

First off, she should be fired. The policy is adamant about employees being on their phone at Speedway. Second, don't stop going to Speedway over one bad employee, you fool. There's well over a thousand stores, staffed with a dozen people or so... and you're going to let ONE scare you off? Talk about punishing oneself just to get even with one person who forgot about you the minute you left.

Speedway employee smoking

Today, I purchased gas from the Speedway at 830 New Bridge Street in Jacksonville, NC. The employee was smoking close to the entrance AND directly next to the propane tank labeled "no smoking." This is not the first time I have seen this same employee smoking in that location. As a customer, I do not want to walk through her smoke to get into the building, nor do I want to risk being there if an explosion occurs. This is not safe! I have attached pictures from the two days that I witnessed her smoking next to the propane tanks (July 19 and today July 31, 2018).

If it were the middle of the night I could understand, but broad daylight? There's at least two other people in the store, so she does not need to be in the lookout position. Write her up for endangerment, or fire her if this is the second time. As far as "walking through her smoke" goes... deal with it. Not her, but everyone in general. People have to put up with your habits, you can put up with theirs. It's harmless, despite what the surgeon general says. You get more chemicals in your lungs just walking across the parking lot than you do from her smoke. Car exhaust, oil patches, the garbage bins, and yes, even that propane are putting out a lot more stuff than that pathetic little cigarette.

Speedway customer service

I went to 0007924 boone nc today and purchased $10 of gas like I usually do with my credit card at the pump. After pumping I am approached by someone claiming I stole $10 of his gas he put on the pump. I put everything in as u see always for my card with no issues. Then go inside to speak to the manager supposedly who was unbelievably rude and told me it was my damn problem not hers and to figure it out. I told her I ran my card at the pump and put my info in as prompted and then pumped gas. She insisted I did no such thing and that it didn't matter it wasn't her problem. So I then paid for gas AGAIN and got a receipt to show for it this time and will never be back, I have used this exact gas station for years and never have I had an issue like this.

First off, "For years". Just go again, you big baby. One bad experience does not trump years of good experiences, not for you and not for anyone. Second, that guy was trying to rip you off and she was right - it's not her problem. It's his, and by proxy, yours. I'm sorry you ran into a nutbag, but you shouldn't have bought more gas just to prove it, and you shouldn't have tried putting it on her what a crazy person did. You've never had an issue like this before, and you probably never will again. What's your problem? Again, one bad experience. Suck it up and go back like an adult.

Speedway gas pump held all of my bank account funds I am furious

I went to fillup on $12 of gas at the Belvidere, IL. Speedway store 03995. I used my debit card and swiped at the pump. Every single penny I had in my bank account was then put on hold as a pending charge to my account so I lost access to all of my money on the 26th of July 2018. I Called my bank they said the funds probably won't come off of hold until August the 2nd. So for 8 days I am supposed to go without my hard earned money all because I went to fill $12 of gas?! Not only that, but to add salt to the wound, Speedway not only held over $40 in my account, but also charged me the $12 I pumped on gas, for a total of over -$52 on this one transaction, putting my bank account in overdrawn status. So now I have to go to work for however long it takes me to make $12 back just to go positive $0.00 and then the next couple of dollars I make after all that work is going guess where, INTO MY GODFORSAKEN GAS TANK, at murderous Chicago Gas Prices, all because Speedway made an error (or intentionally robbed me) and is holding on to my earnings. I hate you now Speedway! You were my go to gas station filling close to $100 a week and now you will lose all of my business, because you are greedy and cannot return my money in a sensible 1-2 hour window. I am a professional driver, I make all my income off the gas I put in my tank and because your system is broke I will never return, I mean seriously holding every single penny what the hell kind of corrupt system you running?

Well, Speedway didn't rob you. Your bank robbed you. They don't have a button that says "Steal Money", I've leaned over the counter and checked. If it helps I've been in this situation myself, and it's really the bank's problem. You need to raise hell with them. First they should take off the overdraft because it's their fault, and second they need to not put your money hold. Dick move by them.

Speedway customer service

On 7/26/18 I patron the Speedway on Highway 5 in Aberdeen NC 28315. One of the employee was very rude, disrespectful to customers. This individual also made a racist comment. (What you can't read English) This employee also stated a individual name and said ( I'm going to teach your people to read) I patronage this store often, after this morning experience I'm really considering not returning. When customer service is being provided no matter how you feel about someone or something it should never be verbally said in front of customer. Hope something is done about this employee. Her name is Kristi by the way.One more thing customers that is involved I will be speaking to their boss as well.

Nah, go back to that place. The person should be fired by now, and if not then take it to the GM and then the District Manager if that's not enough. Besides, one person shouldn't ruin it for you. You've been going to the same place for years or months or whatever, and all of a sudden one person has a bad attitude and you don't go anymore? I wouldn't let that happen. As a patron it's my obligation to ensure that I get the quality I'm looking for. If that means getting someone fired for racism, then by God I'm going to do it. It's beneath my dignity to give up on a place when it's just one person. Different times, different places, I can work around them, but frankly if they're racist to me, they're racist to others, and so for my community, my store of preference, and myself, I'm going to take it to the top if I have to.

Speedway gas rollback

Yesterday gas was $2.53 a gallon and today it's $2.89 a gallon due to the fact that I have a register card I should have got the rollback price of $2.53 per gallon on top of that I had fuel points saved up on my Speedway Speedy Rewards $0.50 off a gallon of gas well when I pay for my gas I got the $0.50 and a $0.03 Speedy Rewards but I did not get my roll back we should have been another $0.50 per gallon Speedway everyday and get gas every day I think I deserve my $0.50 rollback

Speedway cashier

My fiancé attempted to use a coupon and she wasn't sure how to and the lady was very rude for no reason. She then got a second speedway rewards coupon and used it for a second visit that day and the lady told her she already through her damn coupon away and was very rude for no reason. That is [censored]. The gas station is in Warsaw indiana on Winona avenue and something needs to happen

Yeah, I agree. There's no need to be rude. If it's expired or you don't have your Speedy Card, then they can just say "Yeah, it's no good. Sorry." Sounds like she has a bad attitude and shouldn't be working in customer service at all. I get that it's the only job she can do, but she can't even do that right... so, you know. Sorry, but you're fired.

Speedway employees

Caught there female cashier brittany berger on many occasions behind the building doing drugs or playing around with boys instead of watching the store. I have also seen her coming out of the womens bathroom with a man and was actually seen by her boyfiend at the time. This store used to be great but has really went down hill lately. Its a main stop for alot of people hopefully we can get it turned around.

Ugh, I hate that. The only thing worse than a lazy employee is one who brings their social life into the workplace. She doesn't need a job, she needs to party herself out until she's ready to be responsible.

I am that bf and it did happen, plus much much more. The list of stuff that goes on there with that girl is attrocous and she never seems to get fired. I dont get it. I could get loud there one time and told to never come back but the mgr there can find her stash of drugs under the garbage multiple times and nothing happens to her.

Speedway manager amir

Went in to buy a tin of chewing tobacco on 7/20. Manager Amir asked to see my ID, i complied and gave him my driver's license. He scanned it and told me because it expired 7 days ago that he couldn't accept it. Ok that's fine whatever, i then pull out my government issued FOID card that was up to date and not expired. He still refused to provide me service. Btw I'm 32 years old with long hair and a big beard. I look nothing like a 17 year old child. At this point i demanded his information and corporate phone number. He walked away & made a phone call and then gave me some bogus number.

Speedway beverages/services

This has been my daily stop in the morning and I have been blown away with how rude the employees. Generally Michelle and Tamera are there in the a.m. These individuals are there to entertain the male customers and to have a sweet older lady running raged. I can not tell you how many times I have seen them ignore the customers standing in front of them. However, today was not acceptable as there was a customer there playing scratch offs and Michelle was interested in the money he was giving her so she would have money to get home. I served in gas station management for many years and that was a huge red flag to me this afternoon while I was there. I also am concerned about the availability of Freezes at this location. The machine has sat empty with coffee sups of the nozzles since at least Saturday. This is my children's favorite summer treat. So them being down is a huge let down. However, I know things happen. What I don't get and think is disturbing is that there was still freeze residue in the tray this morning. I also would like to share that I recently read a post on Facebook about how the cashier yelled at a customer for swiping there own card. Of course they had not been spoken to through the entire transaction. My intent is not to get anyone in trouble but to help you all see things from a daily customers view. Hopefully you appreciate this feed back. One last thought I suggest someone stop in about 830- am and see how nasty the floor is.

Speedway customer service

I was in your 275/rt 42 store in Sharonville on Thursday afternoon. You manager is the biggest [censored] I've ever seen. He started YELLING at an employee in the middle of the store. I hear him ask the employee that was cleaning the store, who brought him to work. A customer said, "I did, is that a problem?" He then started yelling at the customer. Both the employee and the customer quietly walked out to difuse the situation. The manager continued to storm around the store. I got the heck out of there. I cannot wait until the UDF down the street opens up. My team and I will be going there. His name was Seth!

Speedway general manager

General manager is very rude and unprofessional does not deserve this position I hope someone solve this issue. She also fired an employee over an text message if u can please get back to me so we can talk about this issue and get it solved because its alot of complaints about her. I'm reaching out so this problem can get solved before I take it to the head quarters or whatever I have to do because its policy.

Well, the policy is strict about employees and phones. No calls, no texts. But other than that, there's a problem with unqualified people managing others. The worst attitudes I've ever seen come from general managers and it's disturbing because usually the people working for them deserve the job so much more. I'll take a no-nonsense general manager over the current crop of rude ones, because at least no-nonsense guy/girl is not going to be rude. Firm, yes, but not rude.

Speedway employee was extremely rude

Your slushy machine did have a signed that said OUT OF ORDER I was very aware my 7 year old however didn't care he just really wanted one as I went to pay for the drink an old male employee rudely tells me did I not see the sign I almost lost ever last bit a me in that line but because my son was with me I told him he did not have to speak to me in that tone I was aware of the sign and I was paying for the product I didn't see the big deal your company was still making money one a product was able to be sold because it couldn't freeze.. if employee are not happy about the work they sign up for they should quit. I've always got awesome treatment from this location till tonight. Just super unhappy tonight

Mmmm having seen why they put the out-of-order sign up, I can understand why he was upset. Not just health risk to you or your son, but also that's a nasty clean-up job that you WOULDN'T want to do. Even if they were paying you, you don't want to do it, and that's even if you could find time. Maybe he shouldn't have yelled at you, but he had reason enough to be upset at least, believe you me. Sorry you had the experience all the same, though. Next time won't be so bad. One thing I've discovered about Speedway, and most places, is the one-off factor. I can have a hundred good experiences, and then a bad one happens. Then back to the good ones. People need to be aware of this phenomenon, and I'm glad you didn't say you weren't going back. Too many people say that as it is, and it's so dumb because it was one time. It's not like it's going to happen again, but old timey behaviors still persist because people think it empowers them. All they're doing is punishing themselves.

Speedway smoking

On 7/15/18 was at speedway, 4343 old hickory blvd, Hermitage Tennessee 37076, getting gas on pump 10 and there was a lady on pump 9 and she was smoking a cigarette near the gas pump between 1pm-1:30 pm. Reported it to manager and was told it would be on video camera. She was in a black SUV. I have asthma and am very sensitive to cigarette smoke and have quickly developed a cough. First three letters/numbers of license plate is 5H8. She then got into the SUV smoking with a young boy under age of 18.

I doubt you're sensitive to cigarette smoke even with asthma, considering that you were at a gas station where hundreds of fumes assault people at all times. A cough? No. That would be full-blown throat closure if you were very sensitive to cigarette smoke, sorry. Most people with asthma aren't even triggered by cigarette smoke. You aren't triggered by gasoline, and that has a much stronger smell, so why would cigarette smoke trigger you? Psycho-somatic response, that's why. You were told a thing, so that thing happens because you think it's supposed to. Unless you are one of the 1 and 1, 000, 000 asthmatics that is triggered by cigarette smoke, then you have my apologies. Nonetheless, smoking at a gas pump is lethal at best. Even if there is not a fire, those fumes mix with the tar and can very quickly wreck a body. That person is well on their way to lung cancer at an early age if they make a habit of this, not to mention causing an explosion that would rip apart everything in a one mile radius.

Speedway employe attitude

Worst customer service ever I had in my life. Took other customers over me knowing that I came first. When the other customer was arguing she didn't say anything about me being in line first. I really want this to be addressed and taken care of. When I said what's your name. She didn't wana give it. I said who is your manger. She said I am the manger. Because of this experience I would never want to visit that place again. I need you guys to give me a call so I can discuss how much of Racist experience I had. My number is [protected]

She didn't have a name tag? That's funny, because the Speedway employees at all six of the local stores I've frequented all have name tags. It's given to them the day they show up for orientation, and they get fired if they show up twice without it. Second, another customer was arguing with her? That sounds like a strawman for "I didn't do nothing!" Third, racist? You're the same guy who brought his kids in and they made a mess. Here's you again not do anything wrong and calling people racist. Good lord, you're the worst customer I've seen yet, and I've seen quite a few when I stood in line.

Speedway purchase

07/13/2018 @1900 I went to purchase a pack of cigarettes. Two people ahead of me also purchased cigarettes and the cashier did not ask either for their identification. When I asked for my cigarettes, she then asked me for my I'd. I then went to my car to get my id, I put my $20 bill on the counter the cashier then said "I'm not serving you cause you threw your money at me" I said "well I'm not leaving till I get my change". The cashier next to her said "come over here I'll take care of you" then the other lady said "No you will not". The cashier explained that she was a manager and she had to listen to her. I then said "I went to get my id even though I saw her serve to customers without identification, so if she was a manager she should know that all customers need to show their Id". They second cashier finally completed my transaction and told me that the manager name was "Tiffany" since she was not wearing an id badge. Tiffany was very rude and unprofessional throughout my whole experience. The second cashier was very nice and apologetic. I did not get her name but she was a young African American with light blond hair. Tiffany definitely needs a refresher on customer service because she is out of control. She even said in front of all the customers "I need to get my life and get out her store" as if she owns any part of Speedway. This issue definitely needs addressed!

There's about two minutes missing from this story, and from experience in both being line and on the other side the counter, I can tell you what those two minutes entailed. In your little monologue, you forgot to mention that you argued with her, stomped out in a huff to get your idea, and gave her attitude. You did throw your money at her, and when you showed the ID you did it in some condescending way that did you no favors. You also didn't mention that the two people in front of you looked like they were in their 60s and you look like a teenager. She's not out of control, you are. Calm down and keep your id on you at all times when you go out in public. I swear, I will never understand this generation and the leaving the id in the car crap you do. You've wasted everyone time, on that day and here.

Speedway cafe food

I am not sure when the date of the incident was I do know it was in June of 2018. I went to the cafe to order some food I got 3 hot subs and 2 large fries and 4 donuts, I get home with my food only to find out that the subs are cold like they was in a fridge and the french fries where still frozen and the donuts where so hard that I could have broke a tooth trying to eat it. I have brought my problems to the customer service department and I was told it would get sent to the district manager and that I would receive a call from them with in 2 to 4 days well here it is over a month later and still no call from anyone. I have called and talked to them again and all I get is they will send it up again same bs. The last 2 times I have called I was told we can't make them call you and the case was closed. Well how can you close a case of horrible food when they never took care of the problem. Then I finally call the store and talk to a Jessica who claims she is the GM and when I tell her what my problem is all she can say is we already replaced an order like that and I said well maybe you need to make edible food and then she tells me well what can I do to fix it and I tell her to give me my money back because I do not trust them with food now and she said do you have your receipt and I told her yes and then she said well we are not going to issue a refund on it as far as she is concerned it was a closed case and her name was jessica and I could call the 800 number again and then she said bye and hung up. Well everything and everyone I have spoken with has been very unprofessional and I am sick and tired of having to call to find out why no one has called me back about the issue and how they can close a case that has not been resolved. So I am on here now requesting someone to call me back and get this issue resolved for real with the customer who made it. I would like a full refund at this point because no one has done there job to respond to my issue not even once, if they would have reached out to me about it over a month ago when I made the complaint then I would have accepted them replacing the food, but now it is to far gone for that and I will not ever go to a speedway again for anything and I will make sure every chance I get I put it on social media and shout it out everyday to boycott them until something is done, even the phone call I keep being told I will receive. I hope your company goes out of business due to the fact you don't care about your customers.

How long did it take you to get home? Them thin paper wrappers are no good for retaining heat. After ten minutes my chicken sandwiches are room temperate to cold, and the donuts don't take much longer. About three hours after they're put in the cabinet they start to harden, and so around hour 16 or so I'd not chance it. The fries still frozen? Now that's a new one. I hadn't had that. Room temperature or cold, yes, but cooked nonetheless. Now, as far as the District Manager calling you... you do realize that he's busy, right? It's unreasonable to expect a call the same day, or even 4 days. If a week goes by and you haven't heard from them, you call customer service back and tell them. You go to him AFTER you talk to the GM, not before, because he's not at the store and he can't regulate the employees at every minute of the day. The GM can, and if your incident was a one-time thing, there's really nothing they can do about the past. They can give your money back, they can give new stuff for free, even let you watch while they cook it, but other than that there's not much they can do. You kvetching and wanting them to go out of business is just sad to watch, because they serve millions of customers a day at all times of day. You think you're more than a drop in the bucket for them? No. You're one person, on one visit, thinking this is the standard when it's clearly not. For someone who is aggrieved, you're not doing much to resolve it besides calling phones and waiting. You know what I would have done? Tried again the next day, then tell the GM while I'm at the counter about the problem and that it was my second go. They might have given it to me for free. That would have been a lot faster than your blah blah blah I'm so outraged blah blah blah.

Speedway complaining about a manager.

I work for speedway store #7814. My manager took me off the schedule and gave another employee my days without letting me know ahead of time. Once he let me know he put those days down as sick and I have no more sick days. I'm just trying to get my days back and he still has not changed the schedule back to my original days. This is a new manager and I have been working for Speedway since January, I never had this problem with my old manager.

Sounds new. And shady. The DM approves this? Does he know? This is unacceptable at best, criminal at worst. I don't know if you're still there, but yeah, I'd get in touch with the DM or the employee complaint line thingie that's back there. Should be in handbook or by his desk or something. Best of luck.
