SPCA Concerned people

We were looking to adopt a dog, stopped at SPCA in Melbourne. First of all not the nicest place I have been into . We saw a dog a little terrier we had an interest in adopting.. When we asked about him were told he would be put into a lottery because he was so cute. Lottery meaning they would set a date and you could come bid on him.Now no one had tried to adop him yet but us, so instead of the welfare of the dog being first and letting someone adopt him they choose to have a bidding war. Is this even legal?
Then to adopt all you need is your license ...anyone could take these babies and use them I. Horrible ways. I am telling other people and certainly would never go back to a shelter again.

Went to Richmond Richmond SPCA today to get a dog. I went through all the dogs and fell in love with one. I got to get with him in a room for ten minutes or so. They told me he was toy aggressive. He attacks if you try to get his toy. So, me being a dog lover I wanted to see if I could hey him aggressive by playing with him. I would get his ball when he dropped it and I would throw it for him. He would get the ball and I would love him and roll on the ground with him. By the end of the ten minutes he was joyfully handing me the ball to throw. He hadn't been stimulated like that in his life. I could tell. He was so happy.

THEY DENIED MY APPLICATION AND A VERY GOOD HOME FOR THIS DOG.

I just lost my love two days ago and I wanted a replacement. I did the same thing when my last dog passed. I immediately went out and got another dog. I can't be eithoutcompany or I'll literally go suicidal. I need the responsibility of owning a dog so I don't have thoughts associated with suicide. I've been in severe pain now for 22 years and in that time I have been without a dog for 3 days.

Denied for playing too rough. WTF? And again, what qualifications does this child have to make that determination?

I’ve had rescue dogs for 45 years. this morning I was the only person wanting to adopt a loving playful boxer and was rejected by a volunteer at the long beach spca. I’m very disappointed after a dozen visits with my grand daughters who are heartbroken. Sometimes being the good responsible guy doesn’t pay.

SPCA Contact

So my dog has been missing for about a week now. I have contacted the SPCA of Lake Jackson in every way I could other than just showing up. I work six days out of the week and don't get off till after they close. They have set up a prerecording that says there voice mail is down and no one ever picks up. I have emailed them twice on the email that they list in the voice mail. I have messaged them on there face book page as well. I have no problems or issues with the shelter. As a matter of fact I have donated garage sale items multiple times to there thrift shop. All I want is for them to pick up a phone or answer an email. It would be great if I could find my dog.

SPCA pet

I am in desperate need of advice, my dog a female boerboel had a case of vaginal edema when she was on heat. I immediately checked the Internet and all sites said that it would either resolve itself during de estrus or if not then it can be surgically removed.

After waiting 7 days hoping it would subside, we got worried and my dad who is an elderly pensioner took her to the spca for help to save our dog.

Upon reaching my dad was shocked to find a lady that works there interrogating him, she never gave him a chance and said that the dog must be put down. She and another male vet practically forced my dad to sign the form to get our dog out down. They intimidated him by saying that they would press charges on the grounds of animal cruelty if he didn't sign. Is that allowed? if it was a problem that could be surgically fixed then why didn't they allow us to save our dog.

We are in shock and suspect foul play because she is a very well groomed dog.

Please assist us in what is the way foward, if they didn't put her down and kept her or if they did what can we do.

Your help will be greatly appreciated.

SPCA MY DOG

I adopted a dog from the houston spca took the dog home and the dog got sick. took him to the vet that they tell you to take him they dont ever take blood work on the dog. so happen to find out that the dog that i got from the spca was not really check and got my dog sick and now i may have to put my do to sleep do to the fact that they dont care about the conditions that there dogs are in . i understand that they have lots of dog that they have to deal with in placing in to a home. that is the reason why i went there but what is the poiing to trusting them when you take there dog home and makes your sick so now they both have to die due to the fact that they just dont take that extra step and check there dogs.

I am experiencing a problem with springs spca. My neighbours across the road doesn't care about their dogs and they are becoming a problem in my yard. They are attacking my dogs and my kids in my yard. I am battling 2 months now for assistance. They are just not helping me. When I moaned and said what if the dogs bite me or my kids. They laughed and said I must sue the owner. The dogs are permanently in the street. Its clear they are hungry and not being taking care off. We also can't get hold of metro to give owner a warning about the dogs

When I asked the lady where is the meaning of their organization? Society for prevention of cruelty to animals. She didn't even respond.

SPCA Vets

About 1 1/2 yr ago I took my Cat there to get fixed, so when I picked her up she had stiches which they gave me pain medicine and antiobiotics. A few weeks Later I noticed that she was gaining alot of weight in her belly so I called the SPCA back and told them what was going on, They told me to waiit a few more weeks and if she continued to get bigger then to bring her back to the soca so they could do an ultrasound. I took my cat back up there for them to do an ultarasound come to find out she was about to give birth to Kittins. "How could that be when they cut her open and she had stiches? well they never fixed her but put her through all that pain and then had to recut her to abort the babies and then actually fix her.I was so upset how could someone that is a Doctor not do their job and then ask me to pay for it and never give me a refund..I can't belive this

SPCA Negligence

Spca based in booysens johannesbugh are the most irresponsible business. My pet was taken to them by a police who thought it was a stray because it was in front of my yard, not sure when police man started picking up dogs instead of criminals. This was an officer from the mondeor police station. Not only did he grab the dog and put him into his car, he did not report the dog to the station in case i was looking for him. Anyway, i found out that the dog was in the spca in booysen, went to collect my dog with all my documents and photo. I asked for my dog and was told by a white lady named christine that my dog was claimed by a lady. Her reaction was if i was there to to claim some elses dog, she wasnt even intersted that she gave away my dog. This lady whom claimed my dog was my neighbour whom was after my dog from a long time, because she was white and a dr she did not have to produce any documents and was just given the dog. I went to collect my dog from her but she claims that the ddog is missing. I reported this to the police and the spca but none of them are helping, it was easy for the cop to pick the dog up and the spca to give him away. Now when its time to get him back, they can not assist. Spca dont even want to help, yet it was their fault, their are a bunch of racist white people and are pathic. They are not there to help but to distroy peoples life. When i spoke to the ceo, he said i must speak to their lawyer thats the kind of service they offer. Now i must suffer because of the cop and spca.

Pathic service from spca booysen, your should close down.

SPCA Love & care for animals

I would like to complain about the so called "Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals". My cat got UTI I called my local vet to ask if they can pick him up they gave me the number for the spca and said that they can pick him up but they will charge me for it. I said that’s fine I will pay for it I called the spca, only to have them laugh at me and ask what are they suppose to do with the cat all they do is up them down and unless I want to put my cat down they will not help me, I explained to the lady what was going on and she just kept on rambling about they will not help me I have to make my own arrangements as it is my cat and he is my problem not theirs so is that not cruel I had transport problems getting my cat to the vet they are suppose to help aren't they? I said I would pay for the transportation of my cat! And the worse part my cat died because I had to waste my time talking to people that say they are there to protect animals when in fact they are the part of the cruelty to animal’s problem, their idea of helping animals is by putting them down! Ye right like that solves the problem, THEY ARE THE PROBLEM!

I have a concern about the growing number of Animal Rescue sites who are offering adoption but are not willing to give up the dog but make excuses and even taken back the dog, lack of communication and no return calls about the adoption. In adoption application is it legal to ask personal information do you have a job or vet history or salaries etc. It's all over the web about people dissatisfaction in adopting a dog. These organization just want you to donate money to their cause. Most Rescue organizations have dogs with behavioral problems and sick but do not let an individual know the dog has issues up front until the dog is brought home.

Animal Shelters is no longer a place to pick a pet of your choice. It has turned into a place where they house dogs that have been taking from a crime. The animal shelter chooses what dog you should have and you are paying for it. Also there is a concern about the dog they are offering you to adopt is a dog with medical issues. I don't think that is right. Do you? It is shameful for a person who love a dog unconditionally would have do go through hell to get one. Especially when you know your are being scam by both organizations, they are not being truthful to people who come to adopt a dog. My heart bleeds about this. SPCA seems to have the integrity for adopting of a dog. All pet owner lives matter too! Yours truly, Ms. Connecticut

I can relate to your story. I adopted my cat 8 yrs ago from the SPCA. She got ill & I didn't have the funds for a vet to look at her. When I called the SPCA they told me the same thing. My mom paid for me to take her to the vet which cost $400. She got worse & was so ill I ended up having to take her to have her put to sleep b/c she was suffering.
