Southern Motors 1967 Nova

Purchased an advertised Rotisserie Restored nova that was advertised as numbers matching engine 327 and was 100/00 inspectable and road worthy,Got a thrown together nova with a 305 engine modified to mimic a 327,leaked oil, transmission fluid,no blinkers, windshield wipers broken, cracked windshield, rust, sheet metal pached floors and a dead battery.

called and talked to David who lied to me,conned me and I ended up with a $24.0000 Nova that needed $2000.00 worth of work to get it running and safe to drive.

Maybe some day I'll swing by to share an ice cream with David and after chocking him with it turn him upside down to empty his pockets of my money.

It was such a piece of [censored] that I sold for $12,500.00 and kicked myself for not having it inspected by a professional before considering this buy

Southern Motors 1970 Chevelle Convertible

Absolutely horrible place to do business with! After spending $95k for a car that come to find out was falsely advertised as a 1970 Chevelle Convertible SS! (SS emblems and other cosmetics don't make a vehicle a built from the factory true SS car) if auto dealers are going to advertise the car as such they have to be able to provide legitimate documentation showing that which clearly did not happen in my case and the vehicle was also NOT advertised on several different websites including the other classic auto dealer they purchase these classic cars from to resell at a higher profit margin as a "tribute, clone, or recreation SS car" Thats the first mistake they did now on to the second issue at hand. The vehicle arrived clearly with a BLOWN MOTOR! After sending pictures of the vehicle oil stick showing it had a great ordeal of water in the oil as well as the radiator had no water because the motor was burning it all and I also sent a video of it running horribly being pulled off the transport truck burning white smoke and sounding like it is misfiring after running just a short few minutes the owner text me back and said "lose my number your a scam artists" yes folks that's how the owner of Southern Motors in Clarkston Michigan responds to people who purchase vehicles from them and they have an issue! They always make themselves the victim when someone has a complaint about a vehicle they have purchased from them. Go check out all the Yelp and Google reviews that they try to hide with fake good reviews from people that they know. They assume that they can tell customers to get lost because very often most of the classic cars they sell are often sold to people out of state and that it will just "go away" After much documentation of delivery of the vehicle with the transporter and written statements of witnesses to attest to its mechanical condition as well as videos it's extremely clear Southern Motors in Clarkston Michigan sold me a vehicle with severe mechanical issues! When someone spends $95k on a vehicle they expect it to be what was advertised and also run CORRECTLY! Clearly this vehicle I purchased was not! The owners response to this complaint will come as to no surprise as you can see from other review sites including the Better Business Bureau complaints he will make himself the victim and will say anything to try to discredit a buyers legitimate complaint. They sold a vehicle and got PAID $95k regardless of how he wants to respond with the nonsense, nothing excuses this type of business or behavior. I have videos and pictures for anyone that would like to see just how my $95k car arrived on the enclosed transport trailer. BUYER BEWARE!

Desired outcome: Replace and or Repair Motor

I bought a 1969 GTO. 3 years and 100K later the car looks and runs as advertised. The before and after photos look the same. This is definitely a lipstick on a pig operation. No wonder their YT videos don't allow comments. Listen how many times they say "just got this car from Tennessee". There must be a classic car puppy mill down there. The owner says the...

Southern Motors 1969 camaro

Purchased a 1969 Camaro that body and paint were described as "razor straight". Used an inspector that was referred to me my them ( my first mistake!) and was told that the car was "a trailer queen", everything worked beautifully etc. To my disappointment when the car rolled off the transport I immediately saw the ripples in the bodywork down both sides of the car as well as the hood. The paint looks great but the bodywork left a lot to be desired for the money I paid for the car. As far as everything working correctly as the inspector reported - he told me he let the car run for sometime at the dealership and the water temp stayed normal as well as the amp gauge. Come to find out the amp gauge was not even hooked up and the reason the water temp looked normal was because the sensor was bad and the gauge wasn't even working! I have taken the car to a few paint shops to see what it would take to get the bodywork and paint looking correct and everyone seems to be right in the same ballpark of around $15k just to get the car looking straight - not including door jambs, underside of trunk lid or hood etc. Spoke to the owner regarding this but really got nowhere - just kept telling me the car was straight. Certainly for as long as they claim to have been in the business they know exactly what I'm talking about, they just don't want to admit it. I can provide various estimates from the shops that have seen the car that all describe the issues with the bodywork - you'll find the results consistently the same with what they found. They were very good to deal with at the time I was purchasing the car which is no surprise but after the car was purchased and delivered the whole attitude changed. I would suggest being very cautious when purchasing from them as well as using someone they recommend to inspect the car ( I was told the person I hired was one who inspects a lot of their cars - I should have known better!) I do intend to let some of their nearby competition my experience as well to hopefully save some other buyer the disappointment I've experienced.

Southern Motors car dealer

Beware of buying a car from this dealer southern motors.. Go and view the car is a must, as some of the info they provide is bull [censored], I asked specific questions regarding the car I purchased and was guaranteed by the sales guy leeroy that everything was in order unfortunately I have to folk out more cash at my own expensive to fix the things that they assured me were all working, some of the problems I have had are electrically I was assured everything was working correctly lie I now have to pull out the dash and probably replace most everything in there to get it working correctly, there is no rust in the car whatsoever lie, the driver side floor almost needs to be replaced with a new pan more $, there have been a few other thing crop up also that I won't bother going in to it but all in all, all they needed to do is actually disclose this info and at least I could have made an informed decision instead of lying about it, the sales guy leeroy talks more about himself when you call to get info about a car just a real phony salesman [censored] talker.

I want to add that when I discovered these problems on the car I purchased from southern motors I sent a detailed email to the boss there david witt i'm still listening to crickets absolute silence nada-nothing, I haven't even been giving the courtesy of a response this guy is just as bad as his crappy sales guy, I didn't even demand a massive amount of cash or anything, it could have been settled easily with a couple of thousand dollars I reckon, I mean I paid southern motor 38k at least they could do is respond to an email and try and help.

Beware of southern motors david witt-leeroy= bull [censored]

Southern Motors classic 1967 pontiac gto

The first form I received was a no warranty form, what a gig these people have. They get top dollar and if you have a problem your sol cause they've got your money. How do they sleep at night? Anyway I had to put a steering control box in as the car was all over the road, the carb. Leaked fuel, the transmission slams from park to drive or reverse, the rear window and the entire trunk leak allot of water. They blocked me from their FB page and I noticed there is no reviews on that page. The car is a 1967 point. Gto that I waited for my kids to grow before I could buy. The first two complaints of my post are real safety hazards and should not of been sold. Stay clear of these clowns.

The cars these clowns are selling are not all they seem to be. You will end up with a car you will have to put money into just to make safe and road worthy. I advise extreme caution when dealing with them. They sound so convincing over the phone and through e-mail. However there is absolutly no help after the sale. You are treated like trash after they get your money. BEWARE!
