Purchased an oven and cooktop on the 03/02/2012 expecting delivery within ten days. Goods didn't show. Phoned Solar Energy Store asking about the delivery and was immediately put on hold and no-one got back to me. Hung up and had this repeated numerous times. Eventually I got to speak to someone who said there was no record of the sale. I informed this person that there was a record of the transaction at my bank with BULK IMPORTS & EXPORTS PTY LIMITED: ACN-[protected] ABN-[protected] who I am assuming is one of their many masked business names. Anyway after many many more calls they eventually sent the goods to me on the 23/02/2012 and they arrived about four days later and what do you know the oven is DAMAGED. The courier accepted no responsibility and neither did Solar Energy Store. It's now 21/03/2012 and I am on the phone almost everyday to Fair Trading NSW or Solar Energy Trading. Solar Energy Trading told me if I send the damaged oven back they will assess it from there. I am doing this only because I need the oven urgently. THEY ARE AS DODGEY AS DODGEY COMES! IT WILL GO LEGAL I THINK.
Their call centre operators need to be taken out the back and beaten with a stick...rude arrogant bunch of idiots...I am in the process of lodging a complaint with the Consumer, Trader and Tenancy Tribunal. Their website is www.cttt.nsw.gov.au if you need it. There is a small fee of around $35 or $5 if you have a consession/ health card.

Sorry about referring to them as Solar Energy Trading...They are in fact Solar Energy Store.
Also the goods were dumped on my doorstep and they got my neighbour to sign for them.

Normally if the courier would ask you to sign for delivery on a connote label. If you notice that there are any damages to the carton or item itself. Don't sign for it because the labelled is printed 'received in good condition' on the label and in most cases in small print. Once you sign it, the courier is not liable for damages and you can't claim the transit insurance you have paid for. This is how dodgy the couriers are.

if items damaged in shipping you should contact the carrier and complain to them how is the shipper responsible ?
if they offer insurance you should take it reject insurance cover is at your own risk common sense

I think it could be a story for a current affair. The office of fair trading have been told about this company, ...I am wondering why the hell they are aloud to keep trading!

We are having same problem with a 80litre fridge freezer. Wanted us to pay $15 insurance which we negotiated within the price. Didn't send invoice after sale or include with item on delivery. Coincidentally, they called before shipping item and again asked if we wanted to pay for $15 insurance as "they had experienced a few items being damaged in transit". Told them already paid for insurance in price. Delivered goods arrived damaged. Dented lid, broken packaging, snapped off hinges completely. various dents and scrapes. NO MARKINGS ON PACKAGING TO INDICATE FRAGILE OR THIS WAY UP. No way it could have been done to that extent in transit, also no warranty card included, Daily calls for nearly 2 weeks all ending with frustration+++++ passed around so many people. No one will call back. Finally got invoice emailed tonight - 2 weeks to get it- and guess what, said free shipping, no insurance! but did note that customer told them we had paid for. Told them we wanted new fridge and that website said if item DOA they pay for return. Now denying that and saying its courier fault and not covered under DOA. Said if we pay to return it they will send us a new fridge. $50 to return by same courier and some restocking fee? Told them we want our money back in full. Told us it could take up to a month. said we paid with credit card. We want it back immedicately. now waiting to here from "owner" on Monday. What a scam . clearly shipping faulty goods and trying to pass damage of on being done in transit. Will be contacting consumer affairs as well..

I am having the exact same problem with lhp.net.au at the moment. Have been waiting over a month for my goods (gas stove, oven and 4x4 motorbike). Money left our account on day 1 and no end of problems with customer service ever since. Daily phone calls, to the company are infuriating. They are rude and totally unhelpful. I cannot believe these guys are still trading! I phoned Lea today and am about to lodge my formal complaint. I wonder how many complaints they need before they shut them down?

The couriers dumped goods at your step and then your neighbour signs ?

If Goods were at your door stop it would be the courier to blame.
