Smith's terrible, unhelpful and rude

Today is 2/4/2018, a Sunday. The names of the employees are Joe, who is the pharmacist and Solo who was working the register.
I shop at Smiths regularly, but after today in which this is the third time they have done something similar.
I went to purchase my refill (in which I had one more of) a heart and blood pressure medication. My date to refill was 2/2/18. I did not the have money to purchase it on the date although I desperately needed them.

I did not know that if I didn't pick them up on the EXACT date that they would expire.. and I'm still not sure if that's correct. If it is, I understand you have rules and the employees must follow them.
My MAIN complaint here is how I was treated. With disrespect, rudeness and gave no help or guidance or even an "I apologize".
I would expect the pharmacist to maybe have recommended something to help ease my symptoms until Monday and we could straighten things out with my doctor. He couldn't have cared less.

This is my first complaint, although there has been several incidents.

Smith's hr /managers/ payroll

My daughter was hired at the 600 north 1100 west store in SLC, ut, she had worked 2 weeks, her manager, Debra called and terminated her via voicemail, due to her background report. I'm not complaining about the reason, I'm upset that it was on her voicemail, and they refuse to give her paycheck till payday, I've already spoke to labor commission, in the state of Utah, if you are fired, you are to have your last check in 24 hours, for each day she doesn't have her check it's a 5 percent fine for Smith's. I've called the Corp office, and still no results, we will be filing wage claim with the labor commission.

Smith's inconsistent billing

01-02-2018

Although, this is the latest occurrence of the issue, there have been 7 instances in the past, when an item was billed higher at the cashier than the tagged price at the product shelf. This has been seen on items like apples, oranges, potato chips potatoes, bananas and similar consumables. Although, the employees willingly adjust the prices in the bill, it creates an unpleasant checkout situation each time and causes unnecessary delays for others in the queue.

Smith's manager conduct

My husband went to smiths in Columbia fall Mt. The manager was snowblowing the sidewalk. My husband parked the car, the manager told him to move because he was blocking the area to bring in carts. My husband moved the car. He went up to the manager, that was still snowblowing, so he had to raise his voice to be heard that maybe he(the manager), should put the ashtrays in the space to let people know not to park there. My husband started to walk inside and the manager grab him and said he is refusing service to my husband. My husband told the manager that grabbing him was considered assault but the manager told him that(he the manager) could grab him because he used the f word in front of the store. As a store manager I think he was out of line for grabbing and refusing My husband to go in the store.I was a manager and if I would have done this I would have been fired. I think you should have a talk to the manager regarding this matter and retrain him on customer service. We don't have to do business with your store. I will be taking my prescriptions and business elsewhere. This manager is setting you up to a lawsuit by grabbing people. I thought you should know. Just because he is a manager don't mean he should be able to do what he wants.

Hi Robin.

Does this mean your husband is permanently banned from Smith's or just for that one day? Are you still allowed to shop at other Smith's stores?

Smith's manager verbal confrontation and degrading statement

Hello... I have been a loyal Smiths customer for over 30 years at the same store located at the corner of Mt. Vista and Sunset Rd. in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The past two years I have worked closely with certain departments in the
store purchasing bulk items for a Great American Cookie store that I own
and operate at the Galleria Mall in Henderson, Nevada. The items I
purchase and pre order in bulk are Coca Cola Beverages and Mini M&M's.

Up until today 11/29/2017 I have a had a very workable relationship with
the store. It seems that a new store manager has decided to not extend
the program to me the way it has been set up in the past. Instead of
informing me when I placed the order that the product price would be higher the manager on duty by the name of Willie came to the cashier
and rudely spoke down to me and verbally degraded me. When I said
I paid a certain price for the product he expressed a self importance
that he was better then me and quite clearly stated: Who do I think I am,
I am not better then anybody else and I am entitled to no deal weather
I spend thousands of dollars in the store or not. There are no deals on
volume purchase.

The most offensive thing to me was, as a representative of your company,
he spoke down to me and was degrading. I am a white woman and he is a
black man. Talk about racial discrimination... It goes both ways. I am currently mulling how to address this further. I felt it of great importance
to make you aware of the handling if the situation. Extremely unprofessional especially by someone in a position of authority.

Sincerely yours,

Sharon Murphy

Smith's customer service

I had a very unfortunate customer experience at the 3300 South store deli this morning. The staff person, who was a heavier set man about 30 with facial hair, was rude, condescending, and unfriendly. I was the only customer at the counter (about 7:15 AM), but the service person didn't bother walking over to the counter, but instead hollered at me from behind the meat slicer. He was clearly bothered that I was even standing there. The other person working with him was clearly embarrassed at his behavior, and gave me a sympathetic look. Either this person should be reassigned to a non-customer area, or perhaps should be advised to find a position elsewhere.

As a side note, I recently retired as the Executive Director of the Airport where I managed 325 FTEs. If this had been one of my employees, I would have required immediate training. If the behavior continued, the employee would have been terminated.

Smith's manager attitude

I have been a Smith's customer for more than 15 years in Las Vegas, Nevada, and for more than 12 years at the store located on Flamingo Rd and Sandhill in Las Vegas, Nevada. I took a bottle of wine back to the store because it was bad, outdated and with a terrible cork like taste. The manager Jenny explained that Nevada Law does not allow alcoholic beverages to be returned, even if it is a sealed container.
I demanded an answer to why Smith is selling defective products, and the Manager Jenny answered with the worst attitude possible, threatened to call the police on me and claimed that it was her store, and she didn't care if I felt the product was bad or not.

As an long term regular customer of the store, I do not deserve that kind of treatment, and this lady does not deserve to work in retail at all.

I hope that someone with common sense could be able to understand that this is not about a seven dollar bottle of wine, but about the attitude of an arrogant, conflicted and angry person who discharged all her rage against a loyal customer in front of his minor children.

Sincerely

Omy Companioni

Smith's rudeness of employee

My husband went to smiths to buy milk close to closing time. When he asked a staff member what time the store would close, the staff member completely ignored him (mind you, my husband is hard to ignore at 6 foot 2 and 300 lbs). He goes to another staff member outside the door and asks the same question, she said 4 minutes so he quickly parks and checks that he still had 3 minutes left, rushes to grab milk but the employee closes the door on him. He asked to speak to a manager and that same staff member says that they do not have one.

This was at the smiths on north jones and vegas drive in las vegas, Nevada.

Smith's horizon organic/ nonfat milk/ clerk assigned to this section of store

I shop at the Smith's at 9350 W Flamingo Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89147. In the last few months noticed there was no expiration date on my HORIZON ORGANIC/ nonfat milk, next time I went into store I asked to talk to the manger and the clerk assigned to that area came out and I explained for last few months there has been no expiration date on the HORIZON ORGANIC/ nonfat milk. He checked the ones in the case, this was 11/15/17 and they had no date as well. He explained the company that delivers the product he would contact. My daughter went back to the store on 11/18/17 and all the mills of that brand had no expiration dates on them as we both drink the same brand of milk but different types...

Smith's fuel center

To Smith's Management

Since I was refused any help on the car that you damaged. I will be taking this video to social media with my side of the "story"

Incident [protected]-001 (that was denied any payment) Will now be "hitting the social media road" warning friend not to purchase fuel from Smith's fuel center.

I can do that with a clear conscience because I know the following:

1. You have a surveillance record showing I purchased my fuel from Smith's. Not only that, you have my Smith's card record.

2. You have the video attached and my bill from Volkswagen showing the problem was contaminated fuel causing the damage to my car.

Sorry it is coming to this, but I see no other recourse. Of course I will be looking at state agencies to report the issue, and a legal recourse.

But, meanwhile my social media effort will be daily, and I am sure the word will get out to stay clear of your fuel.

Enjoy the video

Ken Zabriskie (a customer who has purchased a ton of groceries and fuel in the past)

I sure can appreciate the frustration, but couldn't the "contamination" happen in some other way? I may be wrong, but if the contamination was actually coming from their fuel, wouldn't there be several people having problems with and, I assume, complaining about their vehicles?

Smith's st. george wifi

How many times do I have to go to Lin's?
Smith's Wireless (advertised Wifi Hotspot) is not working again. This is a continual problem and is beginning to reflect on the store management and highly vulnerable AccessWireless wifi company.
This information is about to be sent to the 28, 744 media email addresses on the http://ddy.us website.
The following conversation took place today, 10/15/2017 on phone number [protected]. After a longer than usual hold time, operator "Darl" with no available operator number, explained to me at 2:30 pm that she could not help me if I didn't have an account with I-Wireless or AccessWireless.
I repeatedly explained that I had no account with her company, but that the AccessWireless information on the Smith's Food and Drug website at https://www.smithsfoodanddrug.com/topic/contact-us provided a phone number [protected] for the Wifi services.
She kept using the phrase "the thing is this", if you can't provide an account number I can't help you.
I kept using repeatedly the phrase, "I have no account with you, I am a Smith's customer trying to get on the Wifi in the Smith's Marketplace owned by Kroger".
She would then say, "you will have to call your provider".
I asked if she understood English and she said, "Yes, the thing is this", and redundantly stated the same thing, almost like a recording, and much ruder than me :-).
I understand I can be a little intolerant, but this is ridiculous and news-worthy. A conversation like this will go viral and Smith's and AccessWireless will pay for it.

Smith's - dogs in the food store

This afternoon I shopped Smith's Food & Drug in Layton, Utah on Fairfield Road. While shopping I passed two different people with dogs--one in the cart and one on a leash. I complained to a Smith's employee and he said I was welcome to confront the customer with the dog myself. I explained because it was against the law that Smith's should be upholding the...

Smith's complaint against cashier employee named jacklyn at smiths at 9750 s maryland pkwy in las vegas nevada

While checking out cashier Jacklyn started bagging our groceries and told us you can start loading your groceries my husband told her excuse me and she responded yes load your groceries because I have been working all night and I am tired and I don't have a bagger. When my husband told her no she responded by saying your daughter can load the groceries. This made my husband and I furious. My husband informed her don't you dare tell my 10 year old daughter to do your job and that my wife works and he works two jobs and he is tired also and it's not his job to load his own groceries. If we wanted to load out own groceries we would have gone to Wincos. We are here shopping and we are the customer she kept saying well I worked all night and that she was tired. I requested to speak to the Manager as she started slamming our groceries into the cart and keep telling us she worked all night. I informed the manager of the situation
As I was talking to the Manager she was assisting the next customer and started slamming his bag of ice on the conveyor. I told the mamager look at that and told her that Jacklyn needed to be removed and sent home. We received the worst Customer service from her. We shop at this Smiths almost everyday and am very appalled at the treatment that we received. A customer in the lane over also expressed how rude we were treated.

Smith's complaint against manager - compliment for service clerks

On August 27, 2017 at 12:04am my husband and I were shopping at your store at 7130 N. Durango Drive in Las Vegas, NV and we had Two carts of groceries (I shop at this store multiple times a week) and we were forced to use the self checkout because the Manager on duty named Terry would rather windex CLOSED check stands then cover a meal for someone or even bother turn to see how buried the one clerk working by herself was! I have been a District Manager for over 25 years for a major retailer handling Billions in sales and volume and I have never witnessed such a disregard for customer service and bashing of employee morale!

For me to have to actually walk over to Terry and ask for help and for her to snap at me saying "the service clerk should have told me" I said I have $400 worth of groceries and the girl can't take a breath so I'm communicating with you...she snaps back and says that she's too busy...REALLY. you can look at the video, I assure you that there was NOTHING that she was doing that takes priority over guest service...thank god for CJ because she came back from her lunch to assist us because the register kept freezing on us and on her too and it wound up taking us 45 MINUTES TO CHECK OUT because her card deactivated and the lines were out of control. TERRY never even checked on these poor girls. I love everyone who works at this store and they all know me by name...but Terry snapping at the employees, leaving them knowing there were issues and never offer help with her back turned to everyone, coupled with the fact that she knew I was upset...if this were my manager she would be unemployed! This woman is going to cost you many customers, this is one of the busiest stores for you I'm sure and Terry is a liability for you.

As for the other two clerks, I want to sincerely say thank you to them because if it were not for them I would have left it all and walked out. I'm not the only one.

Smith's receiving/management

Was hoping to understand the logic in treating your vendors so poorly? As a customer I've seen vendors yelled at. I've watched the receivers "walk" the store, pointing out every flaw in their work. We live in such a small town, there's very few places to shop, so essentially, when that vendor isn't doing their JOB they are probably your customer. Also, that vendor has family, which will also not shop at those stores. My husband and I go out of our way to not shop at the stores we service. The receivers at both Smiths food and drug, are absolutely miserable human beings, and will do anything to show they are in power. Which is probably something that they acquired from the extremely unfriendly store managers. It's sad that I'm willing to lose money on my paycheck to let everyone know not to shop at these poorly managed stores. They aren't just vendors, they are humans, doing a job.

Smith's harassment

Been with company for years, being harassed is a ongoing issue, thru no fault of my own, store director and all of her key carriers are constantly watching me, making false reports on how I treat my customers, I follow policy all the time, I smile, greet, and say thank you every time, but it doesn't seem to be enough, I'm being as someone that I'm not, and it's frustrating, feel as if I'm being set up to be fired or something .

Smith's job interviews

My name is Gregory ovaa. I have had over five interviews at smiths in Las Vegas, Nevada this year. I have visited over ten smiths in Las Vegas and spoken with the hiring managers. I have been very disappointed that I have not received a single call back. I have over five years of experience in retail/grocery customer service. I have had been turned down twice by two different smiths stores this year. One store on 6130 W Tropicana Ave and the other on 8050 S Rainbow Blvd. I have never been turn down by the same company over and over. I have also been a regular customer at smiths for over ten years. This feels like discrimination in Las Vegas, Nevada stores. If there is any information that can help, please let me know. My email is [protected]@yahoo.com. My phone number is [protected].
