smiles on cypress point extremely long wait time

I set up an appt for my 2 daughters at 3pm. My husband received a text message that appt was at 2:10. I called to advise that I was running late and arrived at 2:15. At 3:20 I asked the receptionist when my daughters will be seen by the dentist. I was told that my appt was at 3:30. I explained to her that my appt was scheduled for 3pm and that the text message confirmed 2:10.
I took us over 3 hours for 2 children to have 2 fillings. After the long waiting period I was then told my daughter who originally needed 2 fillings after her exam last week now needs 4. REALLY? Did you look at the xray's wrong or decide to overcharge the patient? I had the 2 original cavities filled but I dont think we will back .

smiles on cypress point rude

The receptionist was very rude. She refuse to ask the dentist to sign my second dental insurance claim form. My first insurance sent me an explanation of benefits showing payment to them. I had to go to the office twice and demand that she have my form signed by the dentist so I can get reimbursed for my co-payment. I cancelled future appointment because I don't need to go to a dentist to be treated rudely by a receptionist.

I went there after confirming they were listed as an in network provider on my PPO dental insurance plan. Once I was there I was told they were not actually a in network provider and charged me $85.00 to look at my tooth that was hurting, take a couple sets of x-rays and print out of what they needed to do which totaled $2, 700.00 for two teeth. Today, I received a breakdown from my insurance indicating what was billed, the negotiated amount (which happened to be $85.00) and what my insurance paid them, etc. basically they charged me what they negotiated to take with my dental ins. Co. As a network provider then took the additional money from my ins. Co. They are crooks, stay away. What should have been a $27.00 visit for me, ended up being $85.00 and I still have a tooth ache to deal with.

Maybe I should have read this complaint board before I took my son there at Smiles. We had a disappointing experience. We are new to Palm Coast and I saw Smiles through advertising. We needed a dentist for my 19 yr. old son whose filling came off a few weeks back and now appears to be infected. We were told to come 15 minutes prior to the appt. we did and we already completed my son's paperwork. 20 minutes past and still waiting. 45 minutes. I got up and asked why it has taken so long. Only then we told there was an emergency visit and they are behind. It took me to ask this. I left my son there to wait since he needs to be seen. Another 30 passed and he still wasn't seen and other patients have come and gone after him. We left at that point. The front desk person said " they won't charge me for the visit." Unbelievable! I went home and called them back and cancelled all our appointments. Reading the complaints I feel great on my decision not to proceed with this practice. Thank you for posting.

Great hygienist Cassie, loved her, the young doctor from India will try to sell you like a used car sales man that you need this or that, great for cleaning - I don't like to be "shaken down" at a dentist office, leave that for other business.

They sent out promotional postcards for x rays and cleaning for 59.00.Being a relatively new person to Palm Coast, I thought it would be a good deal for me and my husband. The appointment was for 9am.At 9;30am, I told the receptionist I would go for a coffee while my husband was in there first. She said fine.I came back at 10:20 am.At this point, the hygienist came out and stated my husband wanted to talk to me.I proceeded to enter the examining room, and he stated that the hygienist gave him an itemized bill for 541.00 for the work she perceived he needed. She said he had a gum infection. He had just had blood work at his primary care physician and his blood work(wbc's)would have shown this.I commented to her about why after two hours he hadn't gotten his teeth cleaned. No response. He has always kept up on his dental health.Never any problems.Just another money hungry health provider trying to make money on someone.I have been in the healthcare field for over 40 years .How things have changed.Money over patients, what a shame.Stay away!
