I was flying from Gatwick airport to Prague last Friday, 20th January (flight number QS01099 at 21:45 (Flight reservation YXYWB4) and at the airport during the check in process the person who was doing the check in managed to damage my passport and rip off a bit of it invalidating it.

The staff weren't very helpful. Refused to give me a contact number/name in order for me to log a formal compliant and kept telling me 'accidents happen'. Well this is not good enough for me. They should have had better care when trying to scan it in the first place when I was ding my check in.

This means Ill have to travel to Spain to renew the passport and also the cost of doing so. Therefore I would expect some sort of compensation for my troubles, time and expense.

On my return to the UK on Sunday night the officer at customs reaffirmed the need to issue a new passport.
