I signed up with Smarttel's long distancing calling service last August 2008, and was told by the sales rep the service would be activated with 3 days. 1 week later I tried using the service, and guess what, it was not activated. I called the company 3 times before the service was activated. From the time I signed up with the service till now, I have had a total of 20 dropped calls in the span, and at times the reception was terrible. When I called the customer service to find out why this was happening, the customer service manager told me there was simply nothing she can do to help me. She basically told me I was still responsible for paying the full bill even if the service was bad. Of course I was not satified with her response, so contacted the Executive Director, Mr. Herman Mayer via e-mail and sent him a 2 page complaint letter. He responded to my first e-mail and after that he stopped. A few weeks later, someone from his company called saying he was instructed to call me. He basically interrogated me and asked why I continued to use the service if I was dissatified, and that I was complaining because I didn't want to pay for the bill. He totally missed my point. I was complaining about the lack of customer service, and the I was treated. In immediately e-mail Mr. Mayer, but still no response. I called his office and was told he was on sick leave.
