SmartStyle my scalping

On Saturday [04/o4/10] I got my hair cut at Smart Style . I purposely brought in a picture of the style I wanted and figured I give this place another try after one bad experience with them. Rena proceeded to cut all my hair off and created a style that does not closely resemble the style I asked for. I was charged $ 17.85 for this cut I was given...I took a shower and don't even have enough hair to comb. I am very upset and would like to get reimbursed somehow. I definately, will NOT go back there, nor will friends and family everybody that saw my hair was astounded when they saw my loss of hair especially compared to the picture I brought in. I was told well your hair will grow as a matter of support by my friends and family but...I am so embaressed I don't want to leave my home.
Thank you, [protected]@hotmail.com

SmartStyle horrible customer service

When my daughter called and asked if she should make an appointment, she was told that they don't take apopintments, but she could come in at 6:30. We arrived at the salon at 6:25 and was told by the stylist, who was also covering the desk that it would be a 40 minute wait. I told him what stylist we wanted and noticed that she was with a client. I asked him why the wait, we were told to be here at 6:30. He went on to say that they don't take appointments and there'd be a wait. I asked him if they don't take appointments, then why were we given a specific time to come in. He very rudely said that he didn't tell us anything. I told him that it was a female and she told my daughter to come in at 6:30, he said, " oh let me check". He then left us at the counter, never returned to speak to us, I noticed through the mirrors that he had started sweeping the floor. I then went over to him and said, "were you planning on coming back to the counter to resume our coversation?" To which he replied, "what else did you want me to say, there's a 40 minute wait." I said that it appeared that he was going to check with the other stylist and come back and speak with us. He very rudely said there's a 40 minute wait, and that there's nothing else to say. I then said to him that it would behoove him to not give out appointment times, if they don't plan on honoring them. He snickered something under is breath and walked away. We came back in 40 minutes and the stylist that we were wating for was shampooing another customer and just starting on her head. The rude stylist from before says he's ready for my daughter, I politely said that we were waiting for the other stylist (who had done my daughter's hair before). He then went over to her and said "oh, that'll be about a 45 minute wait, then" (What!) He knew that we were waiting for that particular stylist and good customer service would have been for him to take that client, since he knew we were coming back in the original 40 minutes to see the other stylist. Now he wants us to wait another 45 minhutes for that stylist? This was a horrible experience. He was rude, unprofessional and had ablsolutely no, manners or professional courtesy. I politely told him that I would be contacing his supervisor the next day and walked out of the salon. Needless to say, we will not be going to that salon again.

Between the middle of July 2015 & August 2015 I attempted to make an appointment 4 different times. I was given very lame excuses. Such as there are only 2 stylists, it is school starting weekend, or there will be a 2 hour wait when the waiting area was empty. I feel that this is very poor customer service. I feel that just because I am a senior & am on oxygen they did not want to assist me. I will never use this salon again.

SmartStyle negligent stylist causes major hair loss

I took my 12 year old into Smart Style salon in Lebanon, VA to have the top layer of her hair lightened . The stylist "Anita" applyed bleach to sections of the hair that was not supposed to be lightened. She put black streaks in my childs hair we did not ask for. Then, She left the bleach and dye on my child's head for over 4 hours, resulting in major hair loss and damage. When Anita tried to dry the over-bleached, over-processed, fried white and black hair, it started falling out. She then decided to try to color over the fried white hair to make it look better. She claimed she would use black dye but instead used bright red. My child left the salon 6 1/2 hours after Anita started the process( at 11:18 pm ) with a shower cap full of conditioner on her head because her hair could not be dried or combed without falling out. This negligent stylist then had the nerve to charge me $125, wich her manager later refunded. My daughter had to have nearly all of her hair cut off and the remaining hair is extremely damaged, even after many deep conditioning treatments. Smart Style has not fired this negleigent stylist. If you like having hair stay away from this salon. We learned this lesson the hard way!

SmartStyle stylist had no idea how to cut my hair

Wanted one and 1/2 inches of hair trimmed off. No layers. Instead stylist trimmed 4 inches off and lots of layers. Had to return same day to get manager to recut hair. Manager at time of first haircut was instructing stylist how to cut my hair. Stylist was asking manager for information on what to do. Thought it was odd for her to do that but figured she should know how to cut hair since she was on the job.
When I returned Manager wanted to start haircut all over. Still not satisfied. Looks awful. Gapped. Short. Was letting hair grow out. Have to start over now.

SmartStyle lost my hair and ruined a sweater

I went to smart styles for the first time ever and as results i came out with alot less hair i look like a zebra i wasted from 12pm to 7pm in a salon to get a foil . i went in blond and wanted to leave that way with a darker foils . This women had no business doing hair she took nearly 3 hours to foil my hair that was the first time .the moment she got the last foil in i was hurried over to the sink to get rinsed out she knew she over processed my hair all the blond has fallen out in the back yes people i said fallen out i was still in the salon when that happend i questioned her about why my hair is like cotton and in my hand and she told me its normal to see hair get all mushy and look like that you just had to rub your fingers together to see it was turning to hair paste . she ruined my sweater its no longer all white its now pink and yellow from the bleach and color was all down my back she made me walk to the bathroom in walmart i was so ashamed and embarresed to look like that going to *** the sweater so they can dry it so i sat there with a black cape on freezing my butt off for 3 more hours while she decided to refoil the crown of my head totally not what we talked about . i kept asking if it was ok she wouldnt even turn me so i could see in the mirror . first two hours she was so rude not even talking to me or short anwsers my husband came there after 4 hours and asked whats taking so long he nearly choked on the words oh my god . so at that point i had a bad feeling why she didnt turn me around . when i first sat down the lady said to me Im not brushing out your hair heres a brush . i was like wow thats weird but did it anyway . she asked me how do you want your hair cut and i said i wanted layers but she started to cut just the bottom on my hair and cut right away 5 inches off i seen the hair hit the floor and i was in shock at this and told her do not layer my hair her reply was well least its all one length . If she was smart it was already one length . she never cut the top of my hair i went home to do that myself She had the nerve to say wait let me flat iron it

i was thinking ok you have seriously ruined my hair you think i need more hair trauma with a hot iron . i wish you can see my hair at this moment no one would go there . i asked her is this how you normally do hair she said no I said NO then why do i look like this . And how much do i have to pay for this mess she said whatever you have to pay 14.95 ok so i paid and she wouldnt even look at me . 14.95 i still had to pay for what im going to have to live with for a long time till my hair grows back and its black gray pink orange yellow purple . i had to cancel a show for work and cancel tommorrow to go to canada Thank you for letting me vent just learn a lesson from this people . stick to the professionals.

SmartStyle bad haircut

I recently went to smart style located in the port charlotte wal mart for a haircut. I explained that I wanted a trim about 1 inche taken off all around.

When I left and looked closely at my hair in the car mirror, I discovered that my bangs and the back of my hair was uneven. The stylist was just cutting my hair so fast and she did not do the checks that other stylists do to see if both sides are even. Now I have to wait about 6 weeks for this bad hair cut to grow out. I know that I could have went back with my receipt but at this point, I did not want anyone if that salon touching my hair.

SmartStyle bad perm

I went in to get a perm on November2, 2009. I was told it would take a couple hours to complete because I have such long hair. I was fine with that. The stylist, Cherelle, had no clue what she was doing. It took 2 hours to put my hair into the rollers, not because it was a lot of hair... because she kept rolling it wrong and kept wanting to reroll it. Then, when she went to put the perm solution in my hair, she did not put a protective bib on my face. Thank god I had a towel nearby. She POURED the stuff on my head and it immediately went all down my face, into my eyes, all down my neck, and everywhere else. My eye was red and burning for several days and I have chemical burns on my neck. Finally, another stylist stopped her and had her put the bib on. When it was time to wash the perm solution out, all went according to plan. But when she moved me over to dry my hair, it was obvious that the perm did not perm the ends. She started mumbling about how it didn't quite take and she put some sticky gross paste in my hair. Then she walked into the back and talked on her phone for a bit. Then she hurried out the door saying it was a family emergency. I wasn't even done yet. She had all the goop in my hair and left. There was no family emergency. She had been griping earlier that she got off at 3 and wanted to be out on time. This phone call amazingly came at 3:20 when it was obvious that she was going to be late. The other stylist had to finish with her customer before I could be cared for. She looked at my hair, shook her head, and wound up having to wash the goop out of my hair. It still didn't come all the way out. My perm looked terrible. And I was still charged 95.00. The manager told me to come back the next day and she would do a conditioner on the perm to take it out and give me the trim that SHOULD have came with my perm in the first place, but did not. I show back up the next day and the manager isn't there. It turns out that she wasn't due back until several days later. Thankfully, a stylist that knew what she was doing conditioned and relaxed my hair. It looked acceptable when she was done. I called the main office and raised hell. They said that they would refund me and send me an insurance claim since I had burns. I got the claim several days ago. I still haven't gotten the refund. I called customer service to track it and they JUST mailed it out. Unacceptable. This has been nothing but frustration. The only person who is loving this is my lawyer.

I went to get just a trim today and got the suprise of my life. In the middle of shampooing my hair the stylist tells me that in order to add conditioner, she would have to charge me a dollar extra. What? Then was not the time tell me that.

Next time I need a trim, I will go to Fantastic Sam's.

Smart Style is way out of line.

SmartStyle disregard for customer request

I usually have good results from this salon in Walmart, Chehalis, WA. I signed in and should have done the same as everyone else and requested one of the two stylists, there were 4 others before me who requested the same stylist. I just put a ? mark on mine and got the 'manager' to do my hair. I told her I've been growing my hair for a year but couldn't stand the hair resting on my neck anymore. I told her I wanted a bob and that I like full hair. I thought she would be a little more careful in what I wanted and understand that it was a big deal after a year of growing my hair that I'd want a careful haircut. She just snipped quickly and disregarded a photo I brought in, made my hair totally flat too. She was talking the whole time to the other stylist about all the benefits she didn't know they got at the salon, like she didn't even care what she was doing to my hair. I won't go back again, especially since she was a 'manager' and should have been alot more professional. She just didn't care.

Working alone. No break, 8 hours, Supervisor never anserwing her phone, no manager, no bathroom breaks, bombarded with work, sore back muscles, peoples attitudes, happy people when leaving with only to turn around next day calling the 1-800 number to complain to get you. Not wanting to perm a ladys hair if its fryed anyways and her getting you fired! pissed off. P.S. Ive been a manager before for Regis org. and I know who is stealing in that store $ and have told supervisor but they would rather keep that stylist on, so incompitent management, including regional manger, and Ive complained to Regis.

SmartStyle overcharged/ bad cut

I took my 13 year old daughter to get a haircut here, I asked the "STYLIST" if she knew how to stack and just trim up the same cut/ style. (her hair is trimmed every 6 wks.) She stated she could and also wax her eyebrows. We waited about 20min. She mutilated my daughters hair! Her eyebrows were crooked! and she charged me 42.98
The sign stated Adult shampoo and cut 14.95. She never shampooed her all she did was butcher her hair. When I asked her why it was so much, she said she styled it...NO WAY, NOT THIS CUT.SHE HAD CHARGED ME WAXING 11.00, FINE.SHAMPOO AND STYLE 14.95, NO SHAMPOO, THEN THE KICKER ADULT SHAMPOO AND CUT14.95. DO YOU GET WHAT I AM SAYING, I WAS RIPPED OFF AND THERE WAS NOTHING I COULD DO. I WILL "NEVER" EVER" SPEND ANOTHER PENNY AT A SMARTSYLE. THEY ALSO OWN REGIS WICH I HAVE SHORT HAIR, I RECENTLY GOT IT COLORED AND TRIMMED " $130.00! THERE PRICES MEAN NOTHING. BE AWARE. BY THE WAY MY DAUGHTERS "STYLIST" WAS "CHELLE" EMPLOYEE #3. FYI: THE SAME CO. OWS HOLIDAY HAIR TOO. FRESH FROM SCHOOL #3 SMARTSTYLE, A LITTLE EXPERIENCE#2 HOLIDAY HAIR AND SUPPOSEDLY PROFESSIONALS #1 REGIS. CHECK HAIRWAY, THE SAME COMPANY PROBABLY OWNS THAT.I AM SURE THERE ARE SOME WONDERFUL HAIR DRESSERS AT SOME OF THESE PLACES, I HAVE MET ONLY ONE IN ALL OF MY 15 YRS. OF GOING TO ALL 4 OF THESE PLACES.I have the receipt if there is someone who can help.

SmartStyle awful salon

I experience the most dreadful time in visiting this salon. I was already much delayed in cutting my hair and was making me look ugly, due to the load of work it was very difficult to remove time. It was on Thursday when my friend informed me that there was a seminar on our product and delegates from many other companies would be visiting our office, I had to cut my hair to look presentable. Before going to the office the next day I decided to go quite early. I went for a hair cut arriving at 8:45 being the first one there I insisted the Manager, to cut my hair. Imagine my surprise when several women came in after me but got served first. I demanded the explanation and she very coolly says that they are my regular customers and therefore they need to be done first. I made her realize that I too was an old customer who was dedicated to this salon from past 3 years, but she said that their dedication is thrice more than my. This was awful. Now I know it is a policy to hire stylists that can bring clients with them, but they should follow the same sign-in policy the rest of us have to. I was totally humiliated after this verbal abuse in front of many customers. The up side is I had to do my hair with another employee who was still a trainer. I was in a fix as I was getting late for office and at the same time it was very important to have a hair cut. I had to give up and get it done. The essence of my complaint is that the importance of your customers is generated from how long its been that they are their customers. I think its enough now I better hunt for another salon.

I have worked for this company for almost 2 years and if the regional manager knew about how you were treated something would have been done. I personal want to apologize for what they did to you. But i do want to correct you on something. when you are hired you are state licensed so there was no one in "training" as you have said. maybe new to the salon but she was not in training..

SmartStyle not worth working for

I am currently working for this company but I will be resigning Monday. When you are hired, they tell all kinds of lies to get you thinking you can make a lot of money on minium wage. Since I've been working there, I have not had a decent paycheck more than $300.00. You can make commission but it is damn near impossible to make it. And they way you get paid every 10th and 25th of the month is so confusing! From the way they tried to explain to me you get "advance pay" which usually shows up on your paycheck stub on the 10th of the month. They tax you on your tips so a little advice, if you don't want to report your tips to the IRS don't let customer leave tips on their credit or debit card. This job is best for those who are just out of beauty school and are looking to get more experience and for those who do not have responsibilites such as children, car note, bills, etc. The prices are so undercharged and when you have clients who want the whole works (cut, blowdry, flatiron, and style) they complain about it and think they get all that done for $14.95! Get out of here!

SmartStyle bad haircut

my boyfriend and I went in to smartstyle so he could get a haircut before returning to school we got there and we asked how long it would be first the woman said an hour once we picked out a hairstyle not too short just down to his chin she then said oh ok your next. so we think wow ok well he proceeded to sit down first she took a clipper and just went around his whole head it was uneven and just plain messy, then went to shampoo his hair. finally she gets done and sits him in his seat first she starts getting distracted with other workers then people just walking around. finally she gets to cutting his hair and she trims it and just carelessly kept on trimming it and cutting it shorter when his hair was done it was very short and didn't look at all like the style he picked the woman kept insulting him through the whole thing. it was just a horrible experiance his hair is very short and he is very upset with the haircut all around. I would not recommend them at all, to blowdry your hair its and extra 3 dollars! its expensive and very inexperienced work.

SmartStyle messed up hair cut/rude stylist

This was my second time visiting this salon in Wal-Mart. The first time I had a wonderful experience. The stylist was extremely nice and did a wonderful job on my hair. So, today I thought I would go back there to have mine and my daughter's hair cut. The lady who cu mine before was not there so I allowed the other lady to cut it. I initially told the stylist that my daughter's hair would need washing and she totally ignored me and did not wash it. I told her that I wanted it cut in the angled style. Well, she cut it all the same lenghth all the way around. My daughter didn't want that and then decided that she wanted layers. So, the stylist started cutting layers. I told her 2 different times that it was uneven. The first time she told me that it was just me and how I was looking at her hair. The second time she trimmed a little more off but not enough to fix it. She then cut mine. Now my hair is already in the angled style and all I asked was for her to trim it. Well, she did but messed it up because she cut it really short in areas that it didn't need to be short and left it long in the areas that I asked to be thinned (twice). I finally became more irritated and paid our bill and left. When I looked at my receipt, it shows both of us receiving a shampoo and cut. However, neither of us had our hair shampooed. When I called back tonight after church to talk to her about someone fixing it, she straight forward told me on the phone that she did not believe me when I said that my daughter's hair was uneven. I replied by telling her that I had addressed it twice while I was there today but she did nothing about it. So, I asked for the 800 number which she gave me and then hung up on me. I called the number but they had already closed. I will, however, call first thing in the morning to get this resolved. Both of us received a dry cut and was charged $26 for both of us.

SmartStyle management!

There is a great stylist that works or should I say that is over worked. I think the management or the supposed manager that was hired for that position is not only under qualified but a total rude and inconsiderate person more to her workers. There has been many complaints not only to the company but also Wal-mart about her, It gets you no where! My heart goes out to the poor girl that everyone comlains to that is always working, how do I know this I am a cashier right outside of the smartstyle. everyone loves the girl and she is a great worker, she does all of the pathetic managers job and all the manager does is complain, if you heard half of what I hear in my line you would boot her pathetic but out of there. actually look at your sales and you will see who brings in your business! remember Wal-mart in duncansville Pa. Open your eyes up REGIS CORP.

SmartStyle no seats when you have to wait

I took my son to Smartstyles in Walmart for a hair cut. There was no where to sit, so I sit at an empty station. A lady lady wlked into the salon and was talking to another stylist. The lady then approached me and ask me to moved to an another station so I politely did. She pushed the chair up to the sataion and left. I found out she was the manager of the salon. I later found out the other stlyist told her that I sat there because it was full when I came into the salon. What kind of business is this to your customers? Twenty minutes later, a man come in the salon is full again, he sits at that same station. Asking customer to moved out of a chair and you are not going to use it is not good business. Smartstyles just lost a customer. I will take my business somewhere else, thanks to this manger.

SmartStyle kind but incompetent service

Today, 25 April 2009, I went to Smartstyle's Wetumpka location to return or exchange a set of products purchased by my cousin for me. After seeing the receipt, and sending me away the night before upon arriving literally 2 minutes after closing time, I was told that no refund was possible, so I offered to exchange the items for a greater amount AND pay the difference in cash. Thew stylist agreed, and even assisted me in finding products appropriate for my hair. After searching through the salon for nearly 30 minutes, another stylist decided to take another look at my receipt and only then told me that they were neither able to exchange nor refund the items since they were purchased on a credit card.

The stylist remembered my cousin coming in for the original purchase, and even remembered that my cousin mentioned that the items were for me (her cousin living in India), and that both she and I were only in town for a few days for our grandmother's funeral. The stylist even called my grandmother's name. I feel truly blessed at how close knit this community is woven. Still, two stylists had the opportunity to explain to me that no refund or exchange was permitted, both having looked at the original receipt. They apologized profusely and explained repeatedly the specific process of exchanges and returns; their repetitiveness wasted much more of my time and only fostered further frustration on my part, leaving me less inclined to patronize your stores. Interestingly, my grandmother complained not long ago that the same stylist, at the same Wetumpka location, were unable to repeat the same haircut that she had once been given earlier, and so she, too, never returned to the store. Given the option to order, return and exchange products vie the Internet, this poor customer service provides further incentive to boycott your stores and encourage others to do the same. Word of mouth is golden here.

I also think boycott is going a little to far. The fact that this person got upset more because they were apologizing is the craziest thing I ever heard of. Why do people take there fustrations out on other people just because they can? I agree loose screws!

I went to smartstyle at 1604 & 281 in san antonio texas, a woman named Kelly
burnt my hair so bad giving me a perm, my hair is falling out, she only cut one side
then I went back to complan there was no manager to tell, I told her she only cut one
side of my hair, she said she would correct it, after the cut she charged me again...
after I got home found out she really messed me up not an even place on my head...
when she used the perm rods she put ugly crimps all over my head...if you go there
do let her touch your head...

"Boycott" is pretty harsh for the stated complaints of:
1. unable to exchange or refund items
2. not remembering a previous hairstyle in order to replicate it
3. clerks apologizing repeatedly, thereby "wasting" the complainants time.

Additionally, the complainant states she looked for a product replacement for "30 minutes" in the very small hair salon. That is a LONG LONG time to look at a couple of shelves of a few hair products in this tiny salon. I suspect the complainant has a few screws loose. No telling what else is omitted in the version above.

SmartStyle poor customer service

I called Smart Styles to find out their hours of service on a Sunday and to find out some other questions before I decided to take my 2 1/2 year old daughter to get her first hair cut. The lady that answered the phone did not want to help me at all, she told me right away that she was doing a relaxer in a lady's hair and I told her I just wanted to know what their hours were. She told me and then when I wanted to know if they do baby's first hair cut she quickly answered yes and then really rudely repeated herself about putting a relaxer in a lady's hair. I don't understand why she answered the phone if she's not willing to answer a couple of questions to get my business. That made me so mad that I am taking my business to Fantastic Sams because to me getting my baby's first hair cut is suppose to be special.

I am a mother of 4 and work full time. Today we went to wal mart to pick up the usual easter party supplies for school. My daughter of 4 asked if she could get her hair cut. So after getting stuff for the parties we stop at smart style. I normally do not get their hair cuts here but i thought "it should be ok". Well I was wrong. We walked in at 6:20, signed in her name. There were 3 ladies working at this point One was finishing up a style, one walked out into walmart and the last girl was helping people coming into the store asking about products plus trying to do a wax. Finally around 6:45 my daughters name is called. At that time there was only one lady working. She was trying to cut my daughters hair. She had to stop at least 3 times to help other people coming in. At 6:57 she asked the other girl, who was in the back, if she was ready to come back to help. Her reply was well what time is it. So, she answered back to her "its 3 mins. til 7". The girl in the back said well its not time for me to clock back in. I could not believe my ears. Knowing that they were busy. Can you imagine sitting there that long with 4 children. Finally Told the lady at the counter who was suppose to be cutting my daughters hair that i was getting angery. That she had to keeping stopping when there is a girl in the back not doing anything. At this point she had made 3 cuts to back of my daughters hair, which was very uneven, I took my daughter out of the chair and left. Thankfully there is a place open in the mall that could fix my daughters hair at 7:30 at night. That took all of 15 mins. with no interuptions. I was in and out of there.

I agree. I went to Smart Style in Wal-Mart to get a haircut for my then 6yr old daughter and we wanted a cut like the rachael cut. The lady told me that that is not a cut for her age and she said it wouldn't be age appropriate, but I ignored her and had her cut it anyways. When the cut was done, I made a comment that the cut was really cute and the stylist said, "yeah for a 30yr old woman". I will never go there again and I haven't been back. They Suck anyways! I now go to Great Clips.

SmartStyle bad service

I went to the salon and told them i wanted a body perm. The girl done the perm and when i got up the next morning my hair was all dry and frizzy and didn't even look like a perm. So i called them up and the manager told me she would do 2 conditioning treatment on my hair and then she flat ironed it. When she used the flat iron she burnt my head now i have yellow-like scabs in my hair and my hair is still messed up. They never offered my $45.oo back that i spent on my hair and it still looks like crap. I want to know what i can do. Thanks Shelly

I wanted a very simple alteration to my current style; when I went in my hair was long and straight (to about 2" below my bra strap). The stylist (Jalicia) was finishing up a braid on a young girl. When she finished she tendered them out and sat me in her chair. She asked what I had in mind. We looked at a photograph and told her "I want my hair like this you know, just layered from my shoulders down" (showing her with my hand motioning from the shoulder downward to my elbow). She repeated what I said, wet my hair with a water bottle and proceeded to cut.

An hour into the procedure I realized that she was using the same comb on me that she had used on the girl she styled before me. She never left the area to sanitize her tools and there was no sanitizing solution at her station. So I decided that I was going to purchase some tea tree shampoo which I saw in the retail area, as I know it has antiseptic properties.

When she finished she handed me a mirror and I could now see that she had cut off from my shoulders down (eight inches of hair, gone). I was shocked and cried. I just wanted to go home and make the best of it, since the damage was done and irreparable.

Around 8:00 pm I finally tried to style my hair, this is when I discovered that I had large gaps and choppy, uneven layers in my hair. From one side of my head to the other there was up to a 2" difference. My husband convinced me to return for another of the site's stylist to fix it. I knew the shop didn't open until 1:00 on Sunday so I arrived at 1:10. The shop was still closed so I went to asked Wal-Mart Customer Service for guidance as to how to proceed. The Store Manager advised me to call Regis Customer Service as the shop is not governed by Wal-Mart it is simply renting space, and she did not suggest my waiting for them to come in as she knew of two other complaints having been made against them in the past couple of weeks. The Store Manager wrote down the 800 number for Regis Customer Service for me. I left and went directly to another salon for a corrective cut. They too had heard the recent horror stories and in order to correct the style and make me presentable she had to cut another 2 inches, just to even it out and I still have a gap on the right side that she did her best to blend so it's not so obvious. So now my hair sits just above my collar.

Sorry to hear something like that has happened to you, if you call Regis corp. does not work you could even take it to Ohio Stateboard of Cosmotalogy and ask them what they can do for you, or what way they can leaned you to help you. Did you ask for your money back? If so, they should have done so, there is a way to do that on their computer, I should know, I have worked for that same company. That is also another reason I will not work there again, they have people work there that just came out of school or people that don't know what they are doing... The manager that I worked for just got out of beauty school not even a year and then came there and got a managers job... She has not had the experience that a manager should have, they would hire anyone... I am sorry to hear that you have had a bad experience there, but there are people out there does know what they are doing, you just need to ask a lot of questions and ask around who your friends go to... Don't be afraid to ask the person questions that is going to do your hair! I personally have a picture album of most of my work so I can show people that I am able to do good work, it is always nice to be able to see there work... Seeing is believing...

I went and had my cut and highlights put in one month ago. The highlights cameout almost orange and she didnt evenget them close to my sclap there were awful. Despite my good judgement Iwent again yesterday 05-12-09 this time Ihad the highlights removed and my hair colored to fix the last stylists mistake. After getting my hair colored it came out a dark red/brown color with light brown showing through. And the light brown was not where I had the highlights originally. I then got a haircut. Can I tell you jacked up! It looked like I had three duck tales in the back of my neck, the sides were uneven to the point that severalpieces fro at least 2 inches longet then the rest on both sides. Also Ihave a huge chuck of hair missing behind my left ear that sticks out like a sore thumb! I had to go to another salon to have it fixed. The stylist did what she could ut point blank told me that would have to wait at least 2 months for my hair to grow out before she could really fix it. Afterlooking I had dye all over my ears and the back of my neck. Its bad when you go to one salon then have to go to another to try to have your hair fixed. Did i mention that I had to blow dry my own hair in the salon too. And all of that tobe charged $ 75.00 with no refund. SO i called today to talk to the manager and was told she wasnt there and I would have to call back, but since I didnt complain yesterday theres was nothing to be done. Does n e one have a cooperate number I could call. Alexandria, Louisiana smart style located in Walmart on 28 West. Stay away from this place!

SmartStyle smart styles made my son cry

I took my son to the Walmart hair salon- smart styles. We waited about 30 mins to be seen. I signed our name and waited to be helped but no one acknowledged our presence. Then the woman who cut my son's hair called him and informed me i had to stay in the waiting area and that i couldnt stand next to where she was cutting my 9 year olds hair. District policy she said. So, i gave her the instructions- and a picture to go by so he could get the hair cut he wanted. His hair was almost shoulder length in back and past his chin in the front. What the picture showed was everything all smoothed out. The hair cut short enough so it was out of his face, but still long. It is a popular style and i assumed she would be able to do this hair cut. I told her to wash his hair. He has bad psoriasis and if you wash it it makes it less painful to comb it and cut it. The plan was to take a messy mop of hair and cut it with a style it so it was more a modern medium length that was stylish.
It took about 30 mins to cut. The entire time she complained to a co worker about some random work drama. She never even acknowledged my son was in the chair. When she was done my son was in tears, and had been apparently crying the entire hair cut. Which i was not aware of cause i couldnt be next to him, and instead had to sit in the waiting area behind the wall. She completely ruined the hair he spent a year growing out. She layered the entire thing. Cutting the front about 2 inches above his eyebrows. The back, which i asked her to keep longer than the picture showed was cut and layered short. Over all she took my sons hair from being like a messy popular cut to peter pan. She never washed his hair as i asked. Thus causing him undue pain while combing it out, which he pointed out to her and she ignored. And before i said anything about the cut she very rudely proclaimed that she got it as close to the picture as she could, which is a joke to say the least. Then she told me he was crying because he obviously didn't want his hair cut at all. And some how insinuated that it was my fault for making him cut his hair short.. which of course wasn't the plan in the beginning at all; he wanted his hair cut but he wanted the style he picked out.
I was so mad. The fact that the woman continued to cut my sons hair as he cried, with out stopping to at least inform me- 15 feet away, that he was upset is heartless and unforgivable. My son could tell she was not doing what he wanted and was very upset but was too afraid by this woman's very negative rude presence to say anything so he sat their and quietly sobbed as she cut away his self confidence. Thats the first part. The second part is that the cut we did get.. the peter pan cut she gave my son is such a bad hair cut that even if it were free, and the style i wanted, i would be very upset. It is uneven, lopsided, and overall a total joke. I don't know how this woman got credentials to cut hair. If i wouldn't know better i would assume she were drunk. The manager simply offered to attempt to fix it. He never even offered my money back and he stood by the policy that removes parents from the child's side while getting a hair cut claiming its for the safety of the employees? I don't get that at all. Its just a hair cut and my son got over being upset and is trying to embrace his new look, and it was, if anything a teachable moment for me to show him that hair cuts do not define the person inside. We will be going to a different place tomorrow to fix the cut and make it something at least even and stylish. He knows it will grow out again. I didnt cause a scene at the store. I felt that this would only embarrass my already upset son so i called later and talked to the manager to no use. Usually i am understanding of situations of bad service and rarely do i complain. However, their is a point where i feel i need some sort of satisfaction. This woman just ignored my son's tears as she ignorantly did the opposite of what was asked of her.. and she even did that poorly. Honestly.. i want her fired. I am calling the complaint line. I will be contacting the manager to encourage him to take it up with the people that contract the company Smart Styles. I was so disgusted by this woman's demeanor and attitude. Her service was poor. Her ability was limited and she must not have a heart to sit there and chop off a 9 year olds hair whilst he is in tears. And not even tell me that he was upset? I just can not understand that. I dont know how to go about this but i wont stop.

First off for jennkelly2012... First off... just a suggestion for your future posts. Learn to type full sentences. I know the english language is hard for someone like you, but really you will come off less ignorant if you use the actual word you... and not the letter U. :)
Secondly, My son is not dirty, a surfer, or a 'dude'. He is a 9 year old little boy. He also has severe psoriasis and when you wash his hair it makes his scalp softer and causes less pain when stylists pull the hair. If i am paying you for a service, i expect to get what i paid for and i wanted his hair washed. If someone like yourself hates it so much, perhaps you should go in to lap dancing yourself -your demeanor seems better suited for a strip joint than a salon anyhow. Or is demeanor too big of a word for you to understand?

As a mother i should be outraged by the things you said but really all that did was make me feel extremely sad for you. On most message boards that would be considered a 'troll' post so i am not going to take what you said personally, but if you feel that way honestly, and that post wasn't just to get attention or be a troll, then your level of consideration and humanity is pitiful. I am sorry for you.

Just to update the situation and perhaps give a bit more information.. We have used Smart Styles before this incident. Not in the town we live in but rather in a much smaller town back in the midwest. I never had a single problem with them cutting any of my kid's hair. They delt with children great. It was the same size store and i could always stand next to my kids. So i really didnt think anything of it by bringing him to this Smart Styles. I did contact the corporation Regis and talk to a number of people. They refunded my money, and told me they would look in to the situation. Also they told me that they have NO such policy where the parents cant stand next to the children during haircuts, and that must be a management policy of that store, which they did NOT support. I also emailed the situation to the public affairs office of Walmart. I got an email back stating that they were very sorry, but that the were merely contracted with Smart Styles and had no affiliation beyond that and there was nothing they could do for me. But then after a week i got a call from the local store manager apologizing personally. He said that he also made a call to the Regis people. He told me that he understood my situation and empathized. Then informed me the woman had already been let go of, and the policy of parents being by their kids was gone.

We got my son's hair fixed at a Fantastic Sams. He said he is getting used to the short hair, but wants to grow it out again. :) Thanks to anyone that was at all sympathetic of the situation.

ash.

My friend and I went to smart styles thinking we were going to like the outcomes of our hair. I wanted blonde hightlights and a cut. I told her (TWICE) that I only wanted one inch cut from the back and I wanted layers around my face starting from my chin and go down. Ok well my highlights were orange, and she took more than one inch and the layering around my face started at my chin. She saw the orange color but she didnt offer to fix it until I said something and she tried to tell me that is was like that before...yah ok!?!? She put a toner on it to get the orange out but it didnt work and it is still orange. Not to mention that most of the hightlights didnt even start at my roots. My friend wanted blonde highlights as well, her highlights turned out golden brown, they burnt her ear, and her highlights didnt start at the root either. They told my friend that they were going to charge her $38 for color and they charged her more. I will never ever ever go back to smart style but if anyone wants to go and get a crappy job then I highly recommend this place! Worst experience of my life!

When you go to a beauty salon you expectation are to be welcoming and comfortable. The smart-styles here in my town of Greenville, Ms has some of the most messiest hair dressers. I was in getting a wash and set and a lady walked in with a stripy colored dress on with braids as her hair choice as she approached I knew of her and her past. So the so called professional hair dresser starts talking about said lady that came in just to speak and leave. She asked questions about her and her family and I gave her a total opposite stand of view. I'll never go back to the smart styles in Greenville, Ms because its not comfortable or safe to talk your business in. To the hairdresser speak of your own house and clean your own soul because that lady is nice and she minds her own business.

I went into smart styles in the fern creek wal-mart in Louisville to get my hair done. There is a lady that works there that is always rude and I'll be *** if she was there that day. But, I went a head and signed in because I seen that other girls where there. As I sign in. I was given a dirty look by that rude lady Chris. With out me even stating what I would like done she told me it was going to be a 3 hour wait. This is something She has told me many times before. But as the time before there was no one having there hair fixed That I could see. I asked her why is that. She then gave me a explanation that she was doing a prom wet set hair style. And the girl was under the dryer. I mean I know I'm not a stylist or anything. But, I know a wet set keep un under the dryer for a while. I then became angry that yet again my business was being turn away. And I then ask could the other stylist could do my hair. She then told me they where not doing hair that day. I was very angry and ask for a customer service number. And Told her she was a terrible manger to turn away my business and I would not come back. As I walk away She called me a *** under her breath and I then lost it. I went off on her and walk out of wal marts door and down to the other door to the picture me I work at.

To call Cs. I left a message. And Here walks up a wal mart manger state he want my mangers number because I had threatened the stylist. And in fact I did not. I got in trouble even though I was off the clock and I was a miss treated customer. The wal-mart manager never asked why I was upset. on top of it Cs never call back and she still works there. I did start going to Sam and I love it. I guess she didn't know I spend 100 dollars every time I get my hair done.

I don't work at that wal-mart anymore.

But, I am still very angry.

I stop in to get my hair cut. After setting down to get it cut, I was looking around. The shelfs had dust on them. The glass comb hold at the station I was at. Had no liquid in it to clean the combs. As I got ready to leave the hair dress was using the same comb on the next curtomer as he had used on me.I'm now sure he was using the same comb on all the customers. The place looked very unkept. Will not go there again.

I too am a stylist

...and for the above stylist to say that the "LONG HAIR SURFER DOS" are a pain in the booty, WELL SORRY HONEY BUT THATS YOUR LIVELY HOOD AND THATS WHAT PUTS THE FOOD ON YOUR TABLE!

Now to the lady that took her son to get his hair cut...Smartstyle is owned by REGIS and they hire alot of "just out of school people". The manager should have offered to fix the hair cut and give you your money back. If I lived where you are I would fix the hair cut for you if it was going to bring me a new client for a long time.

I hope you had luck in finding someone to fix it.

I hate to say this but I'd never take my child to a walmart salon or a super cuts. Most of the adults working there run away when they see a child is in their line next. They have the "I'm not here to cut some brat's hair" attitude.

I'd look into finding a stylist or even a salon that caters to children. They're there because they LIKE children and they are usually up to date with the newer styles.

The reason why they didn't have you stay over there was because there is limited room in the salon and they didn't want you hovering over the stylist while she worked. There can be some complications while they're working, especially if others are trying to move around behind you. There can be an accident.
