Sixth Avenue Electronics City Apple ipad mini (2021) wi-fi 64gb purple

My husband ordered me a Apple iPad and when the shipment came to our house, I got a GoPro Hero 7 instead. When I contacted customer support, the representative told me the when they contacted the individual who received my package, that since it was delivered to them 3 days before they didn't call it in and in order to receive my refund I had to wait 3-5 days after I ship It back while the other person got nothing done to them. Never buying from here again

Sixth Avenue Electronics City They will declare bankruptcy and not be responsible for a single thing.

You should call Sevan Semerciyan, Sixth Avenue's CFO who completely ruined the company along with owner Billy Temiz and his son Rudy Temiz. Sevan was a cashier for the chain not too long ago and overnight he sprung into the highest executive position at the company. Seriously. Billy had a dream to grow the company bigger than Best Buy and relied on Sevan to manage all his money. Sevan thought their loans through Webster Bank would be unlimited so every time Billy asked him if they were doing well enough to open a new store, he would tell him yes...that is, until Webster Bank noticed their aggressive spending and loss of sales and then cut them off and required payment on their loans immediately or they would repossess the company. Sixth Avenue will be closing for good November 1st. If you are a customer, you'd better hash out all your complaints before then or you will be SOL. They will declare bankruptcy and not be responsible for a single thing.

Sixth Avenue Electronics City - poor practices and collection

How can you trust a company which is driven by owners who are greedy enough to cheat customers and vendors by offering faulty or open products at full price and not paying vendors for their money. Its a family driven company and their greed is killing the company. Check online GE also sued this company besides suing by several customers. You can search on...

Sixth Avenue Electronics City warranty

I purchased a TV from this vendor on 9/4/2010 date, along with the optional extended coverage warranty. After 34 days, the TV failed and would not power on. I called the store for an exchange, but was denied. I was told by 6th Ave that I had to contact the manufacturer because it was within the original manufacturer warranty period. The TV was picked up on Oct 26th. After waiting for 6 weeks, I contacted 6th Ave to get a status. At this time, the TV was in for service longer than I owned it. I was told by 6th ave that there was a mistake on their part, and I should have called their service company instead. The broken TV was returned to my home and I called 6th Ave again to ask for a replacement because of the time I have been without the unit. I was then told I had to create another service call, and it may be several more weeks before I can get my TV back and repaired again. Even though I purchased an additional extended warranty, I have not been able to have my TV fixed for nearly 7 weeks, with no ETA on the repair. This was a brand new unit, with an extended warranty. If 6th Ave had given me correct information from the beginning, there is a chance I would have my TV fixed already. As of now, I have no status, a broken TV, an making payments on a broken TV, and they will not assist me in any way

Sixth Avenue Electronics City double tax

I went to 6th Ave. Electronics today to return a defective camera. The camera was still under warranty and I had all of the original packaging, as well as my receipts and warranty paperwork. They told me they could do a "swap out" since it was still under warranty, they could give me an identical camera and then, the existing warranty would be null and void. No problem. No we go to cashier, and I was going to purchase a new warranty, well once the total came up (Warranty $40.) it was over $55. I asked what the extra $15. was for, and they told me they had to charge me tax again on the camera. Their store policy is, if you return an item, they need to charge tax again! WHAT? No way! So the girl calls the manager over who literally stood there with this look on his face, like HUH? He had no clue what the store policy was or any idea whatsoever, as to how to handle this. Needless to say, I raised a major stink and wanted to know why I had to pay tax? I already paid tax on the original camera purchase, and now they are double taxing me? Ludicrous! Again, needless to say, I DID NOT pay tax on the replacement camera. Never have I heard of having to pay tax on an even exchange. Especially with the receipt. Below is something I found on the internet regarding WalMart trying to do the same in Connecticut. Of course my purchase was in NJ, but still, according the the paragraph below, they should not be re-charging tax.

The law seems clear:

"When a retailer exchanges or replaces taxable merchandise with identical or similar merchandise for no additional consideration because of a defect or because the item is otherwise unsatisfactory to the customer, no additional sales tax is due from the customer regardless of whether the customer is unable to produce the original sales receipt or other verification of the date and place of purchase, and/or the exchange or replacement takes place more than 90 days after the original retail sale, " the state Department of Revenue Services states in its 2005 ruling.

Sixth Avenue Electronics City run around and false promises ever since.

John of Mattituck, NY October 22, 2009

I purchased 50 inch Panasonic Plasma TV on 1/4/09. It stopped working on 9/1/09. Called the company up 9/6/09. On 9/9/09 two service men arrived and said a part was defective and left the residence. Returned 9/29/09 installed a part called D-PCB and the unit still would not work. They removed the TV from home and have been getting the RUN AROUND and FALSE PROMISES ever since.

James of Mastic Beach, NY September 18, 2009

I purchased a Marantz receiver from 6th Ave. Electronics, 1000 Nesconset Highway, Smithtown New York, 11767 on July 21, 2009 for 564.84 at 2:29 P.M. On July 25, 2009 I decided to return the receiver. A salesman named Guiseppe offered me 51.05 off the original price to hold on to the receiver, so I obliged at 12:58 P.M. making the new price 513.79. At 2:00 P.M. on July 25, 2009 I decided that I still wanted to return the receiver. I went back to 6th Ave., found Guiseppe, and asked to return the receiver for full credit. The girl who processed my return handed me a cash register receipt and nothing more.

About a week later I noticed the credit had still not been refunded. I also discovered that I was billed duplicate for both of selling prices of the receiver. Not only was I billed for the 564.84, but I was also billed for the 513.79. Upon this discovery I went back to the store and was helped by the Store Manager J. Benevitis. Mr. Benevitis informed me that the weekend of the July 25-26 the store encountered issues with their credit card system.

Hundreds of purchases had to be processed manually in the wake of the outage. He mentioned to me that my return issue was not something unusual, there are several individuals with the same issue. Mr. Benevitis printed out my transactions and photocopied my receipts, for his records, and informed me that he would pass the information to Corporate who would take care of the issue. All throughout August I spoke with Mr. Benevitis regarding this issue which he assured me that Corporate was taking care of the case.

On September 4, 2009 I spoke to Mr. Benevitis again over the phone. I told him that the credit has still not been refunded. He suggested that I try contacting the Corporate office. At this point I decided to open a dispute with Mastercard and faxed my information at 9:00 A.M. on September 4, 2009. I then called the Corporate office and spoke to Silvana. Silvana asked me to fax my information over to her and she would take care of the issue. I faxed the information at 11:00 A.M.

On September 15, 2009 at 10:57 A.M. EST I was contacted by A. Garza from the Mastercard Disputes Department. Ms. Garza informed that I needed to supply further documentation for my case. The receipts that I submitted were not sufficient. A proof of return was needed. On September 16, 2009 I contacted Mr. Benevitis again and mentioned that Ms. Garza needs further documentation to help my claim. Mr. Benevitis stated that his Corporate office contacted him and informed him that money was credited back to my Mastercard on August 20, 2009. Mr. Benevitis mentioned that there was nothing else he could do at the store level and my problem needed to be taken up with Corporate and my credit card company. He stated that he would not be able to give me a copy of my transaction due to Corporate policy.

After speaking to Mr. Benevitis I called the Gotomycard.com customer service line at [protected], informed them of my predicament, and was transferred to Ms. Garza. Ms. Garza and I attempted to conference call Mr. Benevitis where he once again informed us that he cannot help us on the store level and that we would need to contact Corporate.

Ms. Garza asked Mr. Benevitis if 6th. Ave contested the repayment, which he answered "No", there is no problem with the refund, and 6th Ave. should have refunded the money by now. Mr. Benevitis was unwilling to cooperate any further and gave Ms. Garza the Corporate phone number. Ms. Garza attempted to contact the 6th Ave. corporate office as Mr. Benevitis advised, but was met to no avail. Ms. Garza left a voicemail.

Now I owe the credit card company 1078.57. 6th Ave. will not provide info regarding the refund and my credit card company cannot credit my account without proof. I'm just as upset with my Master Card dispute department, they are pretty much telling me I'm stuck paying since 6th Ave. will not provide evidence of a refund.

Sixth Avenue Electronics City bad experience and will never purchase from the store

My name is John, I purchase an LCD 52 inch TV with cables, the cables were 3 times the cost that you would get them from other stores and online. They are misleading when purchasing the TV they do not provide with correct information, Called Headquarter customer service and all they have is a recording for you to leave a message. When you call the store where I purchase the TV from and request to talk to manager Emanuel Alpar, customer service will have an excuse that manager is busy and will call you later, which he never does. (customer service at paramus, store like to put you on hold for 20 minutes). They do not return anything but only give you credit for what you purxhase. I will never purchase anything from 6th ave store, and will never recommend anybody to buy anything from the store especiall the store in Paramus, NJ.

The item was shown in stock, processed my credit card, they accepted my money, then I waited for something. No response, a week later I called and it was on back order. They never called to inform me of the situation. Poor customer service. After canceling my order it took over a week for my card to be refunded. I will not do business with these folks again.

6th Avenue Electronics is a group of stores located in the NJ, Long Island areas of NY, and Montgomeryville, PA. The sales they're running online are the same ones running locally this weekend.

Your shopping experience will probably be no better or worse than any other electronics website. Buyer beware.

Not only has the TV gotten excellent reviews, but we've seen some great deals on it -- making it a stellar value in the category. Sixth Avenue Electronics City do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere.

This company sent me a 50" LG Plasma and the screen was cracked. It looked like someone had taken it and slammed it on its top end and taped it back together. I ordered it thru Amazon, 6 Avenue filled the order, and Manna shipped it. They all refuse to take responsibility. Now I have a pile of junk mike office and I am out 1299.00. Needless to say, I will never do business with these compnaies again!

I agree - I feel like I was dealt the old "bait and switch" I went into the Jersey City store to buy a 42" Panasonic Plasma TV and they told me how much better the LG was. I should have known better because the on-line reviews only mention Panasonic - It seems to me in retrospect like I was dealing with Crazy Eddie at his worst. And there are NO returns or exchanges on large TVs (which they did not mention)!
The TV quality was poor when watched from my couch (too close) and was too large for my room so I tried to exchange it but was told that all TV sales are final. I called the on-line site and found that each store is a privately owned franchise and they take no responsibility for the actions of those stores. So, I am now stuck with a VERY large TV I don't want.
My advice - do your research, know what you want and don't let them talk you into anything different.

I placed an online order for a Blu-ray player on Marc 16, and paid through paypal. On March 20, called them since I did not get any confirmation or shipping information. After half an hour on the line, I was told that the order was canceled since they cannot get the items. They claim the money was credited back to Paypal, but it is not in Paypal. Sixth Avenue Electronics City customer service is not honest and full of lied.. customer service is not honest and full of lied

Stay away from this company. Customer service is not honest and full of lied.

Here is my buying experiences:
I purchased the lcd tv mount on 3/3/09. I called on 3/06/09 to get the order status, he male rep told me that they are out of stock on the mount and they are in process of fulfilling them. The on next tuesday 3/10/09, they send me an email stating my order is cancelled due to credit card problem. The credit card I used is amex gift card, I call the amex and they told me that the amount of money is preauthorized already by 6ave.. Therefore, I called 6th ave. This time the female rep told me that my shipping address is not matching with my credit card company. I told her this is a gift card from amex. Then she told me that they don't accept gift card as form of payment. I asked her why the last male rep didn't told me this when I called in for order status. She said I don't know. And she lied to me that someone call me to notify me before cancellation. Which is not true. However, I told her that I can used different card now and replace this order. The she transfer me to this male sales rep. He told me that I can't replace this order because they don't have it in stock. So the conclusion is "this company is full of # and will cancel your order without notification"

Stay way!

Sixth Avenue Electronics City complaints

sent the following complaint to 6th ave electronics thro their feedback email id : COMPLAINTS.COM_FORM_MAIL_75520#

------
Hi,
i happened to visit the 6th ave store at the following address :

Jersey City
701 Route 440 South
Jersey City, N.J. 07304
Phone: [protected]

i went there on 1st MARCH 2009, about 3 pm.

i wanted to get a portable dvd player. i was disappointed with the service at this store.

first, the representative was talking on his phone and wouldnt pay attention to me standing and awaiting assistance.

finally when he wanted to serve me. he would nt even come to the display panel that had the dvd players. i had to run back and forth between the displays and to him. he was just sitting and staring at his computer a few feet away.

he would nt know the models, and said only the black dvd player was available. there were 4 dvd player displayed in top row from 69$ to 99$. he had in stock only the 99$ audiovox model.

i said there are all these dvds displayed and only one is available in stock, he says well we got all the models below...which were priced high $129 and up.

he would nt even look at me and talk. had this smirk on his face.

i walked out of the store. i felt that the person was being mean. how come you 6th ave can win customers if they dont have what they advertise and have arrogent staff ?

Simon.

Advertised Inventory Clearance in newspaper for 55" LCD television. Called the store and was told there were three in stock. Arrived there in ten minutes and was told there was only one floor model available...was definitely misled. Then they were trying to sell full priced items. The false advertised listing is to get you into the store...buyer beware. Untruthful salespeople...untruthful business!

Awful customer service in store and with repair shop service. We had our LG T.V. worked on but when it was returned to our home, the base had shoe prints and scratches on the base and frame of the TV. We had the TV taken back to have the damages taken care of on 6/13/2011. Parts ordered were suppose to arrive on 6/22/2011 to store and as of July 6, 2011, nothing has been fixed. Kept getting the same runaway from the service department stating waiting for LG to send them the parts. It clearly states on their work order that parts ordered from manufacturer is estimated 7-10 business days. It has gone beyond that now. No one can say what the hold up is and their response to this is; keep calling back and check in. Who has the time to keep calling back? Is this how you treat consumers who purchase items at your store? When you do call, they don't want to help and try to rush you off the phone. Must be nice to sit there and say the same thing over and over again and getting paid for doing NOTHING. We're so fed up. I had to call LG myself to see if they can help me. At least customer service rep with LG tried to help me by calling sixth ave electronics and of course, they would not pick up their phone. What great service. Lesson: No matter what great deals Sixth Ave Electronics are promoting, never buy from them. You will not get service when something goes wrong with you purchase. They're only good at taking your money at the beginning.

I was a customer of 6th Ave until I was double charged and still have yet to see a
credit on my account.
I think the store on 4130 Concord Pike Wilmington, DE has a
terrible sales team and customer support also.
I don't understand why it would take so long to identify the mistake when you can look up the registers previous purchases and seen that my card was ran through twice. I am not sure if there is something illegal going on there, but it makes me wonder. I have not had any money because you have overdrawn my account!
I will NOT recommend this store to anybody, because I have not been reimbursed
or had any compensation for all that I'm going through.

I brought a HP 65 inch tv for roughly 4, 000 dollars form 6th Ave. about 4years ago, two years into owning the set the bulb quit! Of course i purchased the required warrantee right? Nooooooooo! It ended up costing me more money to upgrade to the warrantee that covers the bulb! Ok so this was fixed! One year later the tv 's picture is screwed up again. This time it takes them weeks to just get here, never mind anserwing the phones! So when they do arrive, they try to tell me it's my cable company, , , NOT, as i have 7 more tv's that work just great! Ok, 3 more weeks go by, , , , , , , no ans. finally when i did get through, they let me know that they could not find the part i needed! So they informed me that they going to replace my 4, 000 dollar set with a 1300 dollar set, , oh hell to the naw! COme to fine out the tv they wanted to give me is no longer availible for purchase, hmmmm wonder where this tv was coming from, , , , refurbished ! Can you belive this! The warrantee alone cost me almost a 1000!
