Sirius XM Radio This company is too big to care

I paid for a 5 year subscription that was to begin after the 3 month trial expired on my newly purchased Jeep Grand Cherokee. I have been contacted several times recently about renewing my subscription, which technically hasn’t begun. On 9/17/2011 (yesterday) I was contacted once again, this time by phone, about renewing my subscription. I explained my situation and was routed to another representative who flat out hung up on me. When I called back, I spoke to a supervisor who assured me that everything was worked out.

Tonight, while out with my wife and another couple, I noticed that my service had been disconnected and, of course, the listener service center is closed.

I have spoken to representatives on three different occasions, not including today’s conversation with them, and I’ve been assured each time that my situation is worked out. Currently, I have no service, but they’ve had my $750 payment since July 1st!

My five year subscription is to begin on 10/08/2011. Why is my satellite service turned off? I’m still in my trial period and, additionally, I’ve paid for a five year subscription. No matter how you look at it, I should have service right now!

This company is too big to care. I was horrified when I began searching for complaints about Sirius; there are thousands! Something needs to be done about the way Sirius handles their business and how they treat their customers.

Sirius XM Radio Overbilling

I requested to cancel a subscription to siriusxm, who sent me a statement due 4/1/12 on a second notice and 5/1/12 on the internet site. When all attempt to keep me as a customer, to include a reduced rate of $4.95 per month for 6 months, same as the previous 6 months, failed - siriusxm them informed me I had an outstanding balance of $27.95 for used air time back dated to February 26, 2012. I was never informed that siriusxm had begun billing me at at rate of $25 per month, in anyway or even on the 4/1/12 bill, which I just received. After speaking to two representatives, the later a manager (Rayn), I was told that I have no choice (pay the bill), which has yet to be documented or sent to me. I am very dissatisfied and want this unauthorized charge removed from my account.

Sirius XM Radio Billing

Called to renew my account and kept on hold for an hour when I explained that I was not renewing because I was getting a new car (that had 6 months free satellite)! Immediately informed that I owed money for past service and was placed on hold for another 30 minutes and finally gave up.

Sirius XM Radio Cheated out of service

My boss bought me a life time membership when I bought my first new car, now mind you this - my boss was in my car w/ me on speaker phone when all this was being done and he paid the $500 on his CCard.

I recently traded that car in for another and before I got the car out of the shop, the dealership canceled my membership as XM Radio told me when I was trying to transfer it over to the new car which we were told we could do for $75 bucks but as of last night, my boss and I were told that there is NO membership to transfer since it was canceled.

Now how can some one else go in and cancel my account? Huh I wondered but no matter what, they couldn't find record of payment for this life time membership but I had my account number. Sounds like a big run around to me in order to get more money from me and after all that, they state that you can't transfer from vehicle to vehicle but I new the transfer fee and so did my boss. Their was nothing said about not being able to transfer from new to new. Wow, they got me and from what I seen on the BBB.com, even the BBB stopped taking complaint's for them since nothing was get answered by XM. I want to Thank U for stealing from me.

Sirius XM Radio Make it purposely difficult to cancel service

Called and talked to representative to cancel my service because selling car. They took my information and said they transfer call for what I thought was verification purposes. Call transfered to a recorded message where I waited for over 20 min for customer care person. Why couldn't the first person conclude the request - wait I know, it is a tactic used to frustrate the customer and have them hang up after waiting an unreasonable amount of time. Do you think new subscribers have to jump through hoops to get service - no way. They didn't know this but when I purchased my new car I was planning to get their service - but now they lost my business permanently because of this sleazy tactic.

Sirius XM Radio Constant phone calls

Receiving phones on a daily basis, sometimes 2 - 3 times per days from XM asking to update account information. Just received my third today...it's 8:45 pm, I have asked a gazillion times to take my number off their lists and check their call record prior to telephoning me...at my wits end and seriously considering canceling my service of six years.

Disagree that "they just won't call you to see you anything". Receive constant phone calls to sign up after my 3 month trial period that came with the new car expired.

When they call you telling you they need to update account information it is because you have a past due balance. The calls will stop when you pay your balance. You must be hanging up before they can tell you. Even if you tell them to stop calling they will still call because you have a balance they just won't call you to sell you anything.

Sirius XM Radio XM Radio billing

In December I purchased a new car which has a 3 year free XM Radio subscription included.
I had a subscription with my previous car, so I called to activate the new service and was advised I had to pay a Transfer Fee. I discovered during my conversation that if I cancelled the service on my old car there was no fee, so when I discussed the logic of the policy, I was advised that the fee would be reversed.
I received my credit card statement, and there it was - the Transfer Fee of $ 16.94 !
I called XM Radio and the Fee was reversed "for this time only"
This is a ridiculous policy, next time I will cancel my subscription to avoid the Fee, and not expect a company to do what they say they will do

This is an issue that I experienced this past week with XM
This 1st pert is in response to an un-answered email I sent on the 5thMar.
Don’t bother calling - obviously you don’t carry through with your promises or, care enough about your customers
email this date to XM Canada : [stupid me egh?]
Problem:
4th Mar XM shutdown – Told unable to access Visa – Asked why – Advised, renewal was in Jan 2013 – Stated no, June/July 2013 Stated, have to pay up or will go to collection, asked to re-check my file, negative response.
5th Mar – called and waited, finally someone answered – told to refresh as all was OK. – Refreshed, nothing happened
6th Mar - Called mid afternoon – got female person, advised all was OK, no reason given as to why system not up and running, refreshed.
Called again, got a male, very noisy communications can’t understand, hang-up – Called number on radio window 1-800, told cannot do anything for me and would transfer me, very pleasant lady [must have been in N. America] – Male came on, gave all info, [15min call], everytime I asked what was happening, told reading my file, I advised him BS and put a Supervisor on, stated he would, WAIT and WAIT, asked where the Supervisor was, stated he was coming, advised him to not bother and hung-up.
Called again, got a male, very noisy communications can’t understand, hang-up – Called again, got a female go through the same BS again, kept asking if I was me, kept saying YES, kept asking if the Radio number was mine, kept saying YES, advised her I’m getting a little perturbed with all this HARRASSMENT, finally advised she is refreshing to wait 15 than got to Ch 176. - AGH, finally working, very simple operation made extremely hard by some uncaring and untrained people either in India or the Philippines. I operate on a Cell, the one thing that is sure about what is going to happen “SHOULD” I renew, is that if my bill is excessive XM will paying for it as a symbol of regret for Its harassment of their customers
Get your operation back on N. American soil
Would there be anyone at that location that would have the common decency to respond to my email this time or, do you even read or care enough.

The other thing that is for sure, @ $205.00 in July there will beno more XM.
Can't believe these people, can take your $ but refuse to give effective service,
I'm sure they answer from India...

I have had two XM Canada radios in operation for a number of years. One Van the other a Car. Online service all that time was free. I sold the car in Jul 2012 and called XM Canada to tell them to end the monthly subscription for the car on Sep 7th as that was the end of the three month rate for the car. On Sep 16th I was checking my credit card and noted a charge of $9.79 posted on Sep 8th 2012 and I called XM Canada and was told the FREE PROMO FOR ON LINE had ended on Sep7th and I was to be charged $9.74 monthly the same day I terminated the car account. I asked why in all these years it was free and since they had my email address I was not notified of the end of the FREE online so I could make a choice? I was told that they are not required to notify regarding changes but continue the charges. Seems to me that is a real screwing of long time customers to start a charge to continue with their revenue stream. I demanded a refund and was told they would make an exception for me for the refund. XM CANADA IS A RIP-OFF to suck larger fees from Canadians as they claim to be a separate company after the buy out by Sirius. SAME AS ONSTAR with GM. Canadians pay $100 more for the same annual service provided to the US customers...

Sirius XM Radio Over billing

I subscribed to a multi- year SiriusXM contract when I purchased my vehicle. I just received a notice (Jan 2012)--the same day the service stopped working--to tell me the service would be terminated if I didn't pay. I was not notified that the service was even coming due! I called to re-up my contract and was told that I must first pay the two months (Nov & Dec) that were not covered under the first contract because the service was still available in my vehicle. OK, I gave her my credit card number and she billed me for those two months. I re-upped for another year only to be told that my year contract will continue to end in Nov. The representative helping me was in India so I thought maybe there was a problem that she didn't understand that a one year contract is from the date the contract is initiated and paid--in this case, Jan thru Jan, as I had already paid her for Nov and Dec. I explained that she had just received payment for Nov thru Dec, and that making my one year contract retro active back to Nov I was now paying twice for Nov and Dec--the first time she billed me separately for those months and in the one year contract retro active back to Nov. She said the system doesn't allow her to change my billing date to the new month and new contract. I asked her to remove the charge and she refused. Obviously, now I must get the credit card company involved and this is a real pain in the butt. I wish there was another company from which to choose!

This radio service has horrendous billing practices. They promise you one thing and something totally different shows up on your cc report. When I was finally able to talk to a real person, they tried to make me out as the bad guy. They said I must have misunderstood what they were saying. I love to listen to the different music, but I am finding it easier to get my own and put it on my music pearl. I wish some people would be more honest.

your complaint isn't quite right, because they prorate the amount you already paid and then they charge you for the REMAINING period, not the whole amount again

On 7/16/12, I simply called to not renew my contract or renew if they gave me a good deal. The heavy-accented Hispanic guy had to check something and left me on hold (or left me hanging) for a half hour! I called back and talked to 2 other people to finally get a deal from an American!

Sirius XM Radio Improper illegal business policies

I renewed my subscription in may 2010.I was talked into a life time serivce was slightley more than the 3 yr fee.I spent 45 min while they walked me through the process.they accumulated the totals for this explained it was lifetime and it was a one time charge of $xxx.xx they confirmed the purchace the amount debited my visa said thank you and we were done.ON 7/22/2010 radio servive stoped.I called several times during the next 3 days on my cel.all i got was music on hold.7/26/2010 I callad, waited 20 min finally got a person this guy wasn't as polite as the sales dept! I explained i had no service. He admitted service interupted was done by them.He would need me to hold so he could speek with his supervisor. I waited 5 min and was cut off. I imediately called back on land line, min later customer service answered. I explained I was cut off and asked for the name of who I was speeking to, she said with heavy accent her name was Carol. I explained I had lifetime service I had paid for back in May. And that I currently do not have service. She pulled up my account and told me that they had disconnected my service and told me there was a balance of $5.00. I told her that it was rediculous that they walked me through a lifetime service plan back in May of 2010. They totaled the charges for the service, explained that it was a lifetime service for my radio, they debited my visa card for the total amount of $461 thanked me for being a customer and now telling me I have balance due of $5.00 and terminating my service. She said I am sorry sir I need to speak to my supervisor can you hold? I told her no, to put the phone down and call him on another line. She insisted on putting me on hold, I refused to be put on hold. I said I know what you are going to do, you are going to email or call someone from your location and I don't want to be cut off agin. She put me on hold anyway, I held on hoping I would not be cut off, 10 min later she came back on the line. She told me that she could give me a 1yr free service. I said that's crazy I paid for lifetime and that this is happening over a $5.00 amount when I paid for lifetime service. She said, sir the best thing I can do is give you a 30 day free service until this is address by my supervisor. I said, what happened to the one year you just offered me. I told her that in 30 days you will terminated my service and we will be going through this all over again. She asked for my phone #'s, said they would be contacting me, and I told her that I would be filing a complaint with the FCC and the BBB.

Sirius XM Radio Rip off

I have been a Siruis customer for several years but due to their constantly rising costs have chosen to cancel. I tried to cancel only one radio and was given a quoted cost to keep the second radio active. When I received the bill it was significantly higher than quoted. I called to complain and was promised the problem would be rectified. I received several more bills, all different, and all incorrect. I finally chose to cancel altogether, paid my fees and was promised I was DONE. Now several months later I am being turned over to collections for fees I was never aware of and was promised would not happen. SIRIUS is a SIRIUS joke!

We owned a vehicle for several years that had SIRIUS Satellite Radio. We traded the vehicle in April 2009. We were paid up until November, so I let the service continue because I listened on the internet. SIRIUS kept sending me invitations to renew for a super deal etc. But I declined. When I failed to be able to access the system, I assumed the service had ended and that was fine. Then, much to my surprise, in February, I get an invoice for $36.90. When I call, they "explain" to me that they AUTOMATICALLY RENEWED my subscription as a "service" to me! What? I questioned the supervisor, John M., about the legality of this and he indicated that the billing practice had been tested in court and it is legal. I can't believe they can renew me without my consent! Then when I went online to cancel it, I discovered that I could do everything else to the account but cancel it! Surprise! The ONLY way that can be done is by a phone call. So, I called again. This time they informed me that the account had actually already been sent to a collection agency on Feb. 18th. So, when I call the collection company, they say the account hasn't hit their books yet. I casually ask the person from NCO Collecting Agency, "Do you get a lot of complaints about SIRIUS Radio?" The lady laughs and says, "Oh, don't get me started!" Obviously, they also know this is a MAJOR scam. If this practice isn't illegal, it certainly should be; because it is clearly immoral! It is companies like SIRIUS that give all business people a bad name!

Sirius XM Radio Deceptive billing practices

A year ago I contacted XM/Sirius Radio to close my satellite radio account due to a rate increase and low usage. I was on hold for over 1 3/4 hours undergoing three agent referrals before I reached someone who would assist. That person apologized profusely and offered me an incredibly discounted rate - for the full following year if I would continue service. I stated that my credit card must be removed from auto-billing and the agent agreed. Last week - 13 months after I agreed extending service for a year I got a bill for two months of service - with no notice at the end of my paid service. I asked for service to be terminated immediately and was told that would happen with no charges. I just received a prorated invoice for $8.47. I am taking this issue to the California Department of Consumer Affairs.

Sirius XM Radio Scam artists

I hope that you can help me with a problem that I'm having with Sirius Radio. I bought a new car that came with 3 free months of Sirius and at the end of the 3 month period, I started getting aggressive calls from Sirius to extend my service for another year. I relented thinking that I would enjoy listening to commercial free radio. That was not the case. Every channel that I liked had commercials and deejays that loved to hear themselves talk. I decided that I would not renew the service and informed Sirius by telephone and by email of my intent to non-renew when I received their renewal notice. I assumed that they had cancelled my service as requested on the renewal date until today.

I just got a call from a collections agency claiming that I owed Sirius money! I absolutely do not as I paid for the full first year and requested cancellation at the end of the contract. I believe that this is a scam to force me to renew with them. Can you help? I've filed a complaint with the FCC against them but after researching Sirius online, I found many thousands of complaints against them for shady marketing and billing practices. Thanks for anything that you can do regarding this issue.

Sirius XM Radio Incompotant customer service, unauthorized charges

I recently perchased a new car that is not compatible with XM radio. I prepaid for a full year with my previous car, so I called to cancel that subscription. I was then told that they would sell me a portable xm radio for my new car for only 10.00$. And I was also told that the deal was only when you purchase a 3 month subscription, so the Lady was going to cancel 3 months of my old subscription and leave it as a credit in my account and add on 3 months using that credit so I caould get the deal. Also, the shipping fee for my new radio would be waived. I was finally @ the payment part of the conversation, when are call was disconnected. I called back and got a completely different person and was told I had to start all ovedr again! I had to explain everything the previous women had offered me and this process took about 45 mins. I was repeated back my banking and shipping info 3 times and was sooo ready to be off the phone.. I was told I would be sent a confirmation email with all of the tracking info. Almost 2 weeks went by and I never recieved my radio. I also went back and checked my emails and realized I was also never sent my confirmation. So I called them and was shuffled around and placed on hold for another 45 mins ( my entire drive to work). When the guy finally returned to the call, I was told that NO order had been placed! What the Heck was I doing on the phone for that long doing then. And where had my cc & shipping info gone? Buy this point I was behond frustrated and walking into work. So, I told the guy out original agreement and told him he needed to place an order imdeiately, overnight my radio and waive the shipping fee. Which he agreed to with no hesitation. I had been very firm for the 1st time with these ppl and was happy with the outcome...Wait for it...Until 2 days later when I get an email from my bank that my account was overdrawn. I looked into it, and found out that my account was charged 4 times by XM radio. I was charged 18.48 for the radio and shipping. 1.00 transaction fee, another 1.00 transaction fee and a 45$ activation fee. The ammount agreed upon was 10.00$. I immediately called them and asked to speak to a superviser. Yet again, I was placed on hold and shuffled around for over an hour. They just didn't understand why I was so upset! By this time, I was feeling like a broken record repeating myself over and over again. This women Finally agreed to refund me the 45$ activation fee, but refused to refund my shipping fee! After all of this inconvenience they were actually trying to charge me more again! I refused and she finally agreed to waive it. After all of this, nobody ever apologized for any of this. Needless to say, I still have not received my radio, or my refund. I feel XM radio does not care one bit about the customer service, because they know the consumers have no other choice in this monopoly!

Sirius XM Radio Unauthorized billing

For almost a year we called, then called again and again to ask them to cancel our service. Each month they billed us so we consistently asked for a refund. After 11 months they finally cancelled the service but would only refund us $9.08 because we did not complain about the issue! I repeatedly asked for a supervisor and they said that would do no good. Couldn't even speak to one. This decision to pay us the $9.08 came from the accounting department! My bad for not putting it in writing sooner. However, I finally did, sending a registered letter to the CEO, Mel Karmazin. No surprise that we haven't heard from him either.

Sirius XM Radio Harassing phone calls

Sirius XM does not and will not respect our nation's Do-Not-Call laws. Sirius XM does not and will not respect requests to remove someone from calling lists. I've demanded multiple times in writing that Sirius XM stop calling me, but the calls have escalated instead. Sirius XM came with my new Toyota, despite the fact that I didn't want it and would have opted out if given a choice. Now, neither Sirius XM nor Toyota will do anything to stop the harassment.

I just called this number [protected] back and told them they needed to take my number off the calling list and she kept asking for my name and zip code and I kept repeating NO you are not getting anymore of my information! You have my number...now you make sure and take it off your list or I am reporting you, thank you and I hung up!

Sirius XM Radio Widly overcharging

Before our Sirius Satellite radio subscription had expired (at the end of 2010), we called customer service and negotiated a new package and rate for the forthcoming year. Their renewal rate was about $265 for another two years, but we negotiated a lower one-year package price of $100. I checked my Sirius billing account, and discovered that not only had they gone ahead and renewed the account for an un-authorized 2-years, they had also billed the credit card over $300. I have the sense that they try this scam on everyone–overcharging wildly on the off chance that many people will avoid the time hassel of a confrontation and just pay the inflated bill.

Sirius XM Radio Fraudulent billing

Cosby of Sirius called me 12/30/2010 and asked for updated billing info, which I gave.

She could not find any record of a credit I was supposed to receive toward my next bill, so I told her repeatedly and emphatically-do not bill... cancel service. She nagged me for 4 more minutes and I hung up.
I have been billed $177 and have no service. I spent 46 min on 1/3/2011 to "customer care", Kirby, who was useless.
I am to fill out a police report, then the charge will be canceled by my Visa issuer. I have also canceled that card, and filed an FTC complaint.

Customer service is worse than negligent: it is fradulent.
This has cost me so much time (cell phone charges) and stress that I want to remove the part of my car radio that can even remind me of Sirius.

Sirius XM Radio Sirus scam

(DD/MM/YYYY)31/08/2010 I subscribed to sirius canada for three months, As I spoke with the representive, it was only a ''test'' to see if I like their radio, so, there was no more charges to me.

December 1 2010, the subscription Is suposed to end and my radio got thieved about 1 week or 15 days before the end.
I never cared about the subscription even if I don't have no more radio because it's suposed to end december 1st.

Then, june 28 2011, after a stupid canada post strike of one month, I received my june's Visa bill and, SUPRISE! Sirius charged me 58.30$ 02/06/2011 for 3 months renewal !

I call sirius, they first tells me that their computers are off-service for 2 hours.
So, I called them back 2 hours later.

We start talking about the problem thinking it would be because of the stolen radio but, the reprensentive tells me that no one could have renew my subscription back without the 4 last numbers of my credit card.
So, we start lookin' with my informations in his computer what's the problem and he tells me I never stopped the subscription and it renewed automatically december 1st.

So I started complaining that it was not the final arrangement we had and that this is unacceptable, but he tells me that I received a letter at each renewal plus an email. But I never received them !
I tell him that I received nothing and he says that I lie and that I received everything.
At this point, I ask to talk to a letter and email representive to see what's wrong with their systems, He promptly said no I can't and that is not a departement that I can speak with.

It end that, he offered me 3 months subscription free and a free radio. I declined and told him i'm not going to let them scam me.

Sirius XM Radio Customer service stinks

Use caution when looking to XM radio for your entertainment needs. They have a good product but if you ever have problems with you bill they are completely impossible to work with. They have given me four different invoices in less than 30 days and still have not resolved the problem. On top of that they charged me $2.00 each time they sent me a different bill. I have had to contact customer service more than six times and have spent HOURS on the phone trying to resolve the problem. Have been told several times that a supervisor would call to discuss my billing issues and have not heard from anyone, other than an electronic "survey" as to how my inquiry was handled. Their "smoke screen" of they are concerned about customer service is just B.S. They may advertise as being the #1 provider out there but with their total incompetents they won’t be for long…Good luck !

Sirius XM Radio Unfair billing

I received a bill from SiriusXM in May 2011 for $41. I called and told them I disputed the bill and was told they would settle for 1/2 but I had to pay immediately. I declined and said I would not be paying. This month I received a new bill for $46 with a late charge of $5.00. I called, spent 15 minutes on the phone with a customer rep. who basically told me the account had somehow been reactivated in March but there were no notes as to why. I asked to speak with a supervisor and was disconnected. I called back and went thru the same routine again but this time asked the customer rep. to note that if I was disconnected I would not be calling back. I was transferred to Amy, employee #720076, who basically told me charges continue to accumulate until I call to cancel so that my $4 balance has grown to $46. I explained I never authorized re-activation in March and I never received any bills until the one in May when I called. she said the money was due. I asked for her supervisor and was told it was Sunday and she was the supervisor on duty and there was no one above her. I asked for her managers name and phone # and she refused to give it to me directing me to the Sirius website to file a complaint. I told her to refer the account for collections as I was not paying and she said it was noted in my file. I cannot believe this company will argue for so long with 3 different employees over this charge. It's no wonder they are going out of business. I am informing the 3 credit bureaus of my dispute before Sirius or any collection service can notify them

Renewing service is automatically done, it doesn't need an authorization to do that, that's the agreement on their terms and conditions, the authorizations they need only for the auto payments on the credit cards or so, but u had the chance to clear that up when they offered u to pay 1/2 but u just declined, no idea why ! and then u r complaining about getting 5$ late fee! sure there'd be a late fee as u didn't pay and didn't cancel
