I had been looking for an older, trained shih tzu for a few weeks as my shih tzu died a few months ago. Becky Drake had a blog on the internet about her breeding company. She said she had a one year old, housetrained and command trained shih tzu for sale.
I drove three hours to find this breeder. Becky explained immediately that Kenzi (the dog) had no rabies shot but was completely housetrained. I immediately drove to a nearby vet for her rabies shot. Those should be given to puppies when they are 6 months. She also explained that Kenzi had a litter of puppies when she was 6 months old.
I found out quickly that Kenzi was not housetrained and was a very troubled dog. Her personality was so bewildering that I called in a dog trainer for her opinion. She felt that Kenzi had probably been a puppy mill dog and had led a very traumatized life.
I called Becky about this problem but she got very angry with me and would not help compensate for expenses as she was not the original breeder. I spent over $700 trying to rehabilitate this dog. When I contacted the original breeder she told me that when she sold the dog to Becky she told her of all the problems with the dog. But, Becky wanted her as a pet.
Consumers need to be warned about this breeder. She deliberated mislead me on the sale of this dog.

I am starting to hear from some of your "friends" in your area. Seems they are not to happy with you either. Remember, what goes around, comes around.

Hey its Becky again. Sylvia filed a complaint against me with the BBB...and when I called and they found out I was not a boarding facility or kennel like she told them I was they closed the case. They also emailed her and this is the response:
Complaint Case #: [protected]
Consumer: Sylvia Putz

Thank you for your cooperation in responding to the above consumer's complaint. Following our usual procedure, we notified the consumer of your response and requested notification of whether or not it was satisfactorily resolved. The consumer has notified our office they are satisfied. Therefore, we have closed the complaint.

Again, thank you

So...after now being turned into AKC, a consumer advocate, the BBB and two complaints websites I would think this lady would stop harrassing me and realize she has no case and can't return a dog cause its not housebroke. If any of you breeders get contacted by a Sylvia Putz, I advise you to move on and do not sell toher!

Here story on each website she finds to post about me is different. She can't even tell the same story! So Sylvia...move on!

I know Becky personally and I have bought a pup from her before. Becky is a sweetheart and would never misrepresent a dog or animal of anykind. And really...you get a dog and its not housebroke? Don;t you think any dog would have accidents in a new place its unsure of and scared. Come on. This woman Sylvia is a fruitcake! I also know Becky used to work for a vet and she was a Manager of a Humane Society. PLease know Becky would be a perfect breeder to buy from.

I am Becky Drake. I NEVER told her the dog had puppies at 6 months of age. The lady I bought her off of did breed her but she was 9 months I think. The Tzu WAS housebroke at my house with no accidents. I was going to take dog to vet but she wanted it immediately! She came to my home, saw Kenzie in person and said she wantd her. I have a signed contract stating dog was sold as is. Sylvia signed it. Also, I offered to take the dog back after she contacted me 12 days after purchase. I told her I would refund her after she sold which is more than I should of done considering Ihad a contract! She threatened me with a blog so I then at that time decided to not help her. A few days later I offered again to take back the dog so she would stop harrassing me, the orginal breeder and seller I bought her from, she refused at that time to bring her back. I told the truth and she paid $300 for the dog and now is trying to claim $720 for items she spent on dog after she purchased her from me. So breeders beware of Sylvia Putz! She is a professional scammer it seems. I have had to contact my sheriff dept and attorney regarding her harrassment. She has also tracked down the breeder and lady I bought from and asking them to refund her or GIVE her a pup. The orginal breeder offered to take back the dog and she refused that attempt as well. This complaint was told in half truths and please...ANYONE feel free to contact me to hear the truth and I can show proof of signed contract!
