Shoppersdiscount .com / Taking Payment from Debit Card

1 United Kingdom Review updated:

I am writing to complain about shoppersdiscount.com and a deal they have on the trainline.com ticket site.

I purchased train tickets for 2 journeys online in September 2008 and at the end came up GET £10 off your next tickets if you click here!
I thought this was part of the trainline.com and clicked. It was very unclear that I was to be charged monthly a fee of £8 off my debit card by shoppersdiscount.com and I strongly object to the way in which this is done.

I am 84 years old and I didn't realize I had to pay $12.00 a month for this service. I can't afford it since I'm living on social security. I want to cancel this but I haven't been able to get to anybody to do it. Could you please help me to cancel this. I have read other peoples complaints and I think this scam is just awful. Everyone works had for their money and no one should have the right to steal it from them this way. Please pklease help me get mine canceled. Thank you. Nancy

Shoppers Discount is a TOTAL SCAM. My husband purchased something online, and a 'pop-up' offered a free $10.00 discount. He had no idea he had signed up for anything. I did not notice the $12.00 charge until November 2008, but then noticed they had deducted $12 in October, also. I immediately called the number noted on my Discover card for shoppersdiscount: 800-889-8776. I talked to a representative (after waiting for a long time listening to recordings). She assured me the charge would be credited. Not only did the credit not show up, but my recent statement shows another deduction in December! I plan to pursue this and think criminal charges should be forthcoming!

I was solicited over the phone by the above named organization, the free trial on the gas rebates was okay, but when I hesitated on the free trial oflong distant phone minutes the person on the other end started questioning me "why not"? they repeatedly asked finally I said I change my mind do not send me anything they hurriedly stated both items the gas rebate & the long distant card was being sent and thatI could call to cancel, but they have my bank card # and I did not like the high pressure sales pitch which caused me to change my mind in the first place. Now I call on e of the numbers they provided only to reach an idetity theft prevention hotline, talk about your scams. I had to evenutually use other means to put an end to this madness and even then there are no ways to be sure No more buying things online with my card The good guys will have to wait on me to buy anything online from now on - angry customer

i absolutly agree with all of the complaints stated. i donot wish to shop online. and i kn ow about the gas it is to annoying to do on top of the FACT that i have to many things going on to remember to send the rebate off. so needless to say i am no longer interested in the program. on top of the fact i can't afford the withdrawal that is coming out of my account, because i have not used any part of the program which means i am just giving my money away so please stop taking my money out and take me off of your callers list. thank you.
