Very poor 🤒
We don't know much about how Shoppers Drug Mart handles customer complaints outside ComplaintsBoard, but what we see here, on our website, is quite disappointing. We think there might be reasons for the company's actions (like not knowing about the complaints), and we would be happy to see them among customer-focused businesses that easily solve customer problems. But until that happens, we ask reviewers to be cautious when dealing with Shoppers Drug Mart and using their services, and to carefully read the experiences of other customers on ComplaintsBoard, because who is warned is armed, you know! 💪

Shoppers Drug Mart toxic entrance

I can't believe that Shoppers Drug Mart has the gall to inundate customers with that horrible smell of perfumes upon entering the store. Perfumes are filled with all kinds of toxic ingredients, not to mention that many people are allergic to them. They stopped selling cigarettes, but walking into most of the new stores now is like walking into a room filled with cigarette smoke. Why isn't someone doing something about this? Seriously, WHO thinks this is okay? I get my prescriptions and go to the post office there, but have to walk through those toxic smells to get to them. Perhaps I could get my prescriptions somewhere else, but it houses our main post office, so that's unavoidable. All I can say is MOVE THAT SECTION or get rid of it altogether!

toxic?really? which exact ingredients in fragrance is toxic? and where is a link that proves this by a non biased source?
they stopped selling cigarettes because of legislation enacted years ago where no retailer with an existing pharmacy is allowed to sell tobacco products. show us the proof to your claimss that smelling a fragrance is just as toxic as smoking...show me one reputable study.
i suppose they should stop selling toothpaste with flouride in it since a lot of people claim its bad for you.
maybe they shouldn't get their floors waxed since that can leave particles in the air and some people may believe thats toxic.
maybe sick people shouldn't come into the store and sneeze because that could male people ill.
maybe the bay and sears will move their toxic fragrance sections to a locked room to satisfy people like you.
gimmie a break...

Shoppers Drug Mart ignorant uninformed pharmacists

The pharmacists here are among the least caring and illegitimate phamacists I have worked with. They are completely unwilling to do ANYTHING to help out the people, us innocent patients who have been prescribed these fake manufactured drugs to temporarily ease our symptoms, drugs which have terrible side effects and many that make us addicted to them and which DO NOT CURE us. I have gone through hours and hours of phone conversations with these people(pharmacists) and the doctor's offices trying to get them to give me a higher dosage of my medication so that I am not stuck seeing my pharmacist every week to continuously renew my dozens of prescriptions. I am only in my 20's and I cannot imagine how much worse it will be in the future. I also went to the trouble of doing all of this, to be informed that the pharmacy had never recieved a fax from my doctors office to increase my dosage and that I would have to make everyone repeat the process... just because some idiots aren't doing their jobs at recording incoming faxes and updating our files as necessary.

I have also gone in there several times to pick up prescriptions that are not done when they are supposed to be done. How lazy is that? I hate pharmacists.

The Ontario Ministry of Health changed the guidelines recently on prescriptions - doctors need to submit more documentation with prescriptions (to combat fraud and abuse). They also need to submit your Health Card number with prescriptions now. It sucks for people on medication, but a pharmacist isn't a doctor - they are only dispensing your medication. Pharmacists (in Ontario) are not authorized to change your dosage - only your doctor can do that. If the pharmacy didn't get your renewal, it could be their mistake - or it could be your doctor.

ms nirple, it doesn't explain why a dispensing fee was charged, but regardless of that it doesn't make sense why they would charge her the higher price, the store gets the money back from the coupon if it's a vendors coupon. If it's a store coupon than Shoppers did a brutal thing by putting an item on sale, AND having a store coupon out at the same time

Shoppers Drug Mart no insulin

I have been a diabetic since 1994, more than half my life-time. Ever since being recognized with diabetes I have taken Humulin N and Humulin R twice a day. I use syringes to mix the appropriate dosage of these insulins and then inject them. As I have found out today Shoppers Drug Mart stopped carrying Humulin N and R in 10ml vials, they carry them in cartridges so they can charge twice as much for the Humulin and charge for special injection pens and needles. On top this form of injection does not allow the user to mix two types of Humulin, I would have to make four injections per day instead of two and therefore spend more money. I have bought Insulin from Shoppers Drug Mart in the past and spend around $100/month for my medication. Apparently they want me to pay more. I had to go to three separate Shoppers Drug Mart locations before finding one that had Humulin in vials. There are no other pharmacies in my neighborhood. This is a case of medical negligence because they never warned me about changes in the medication they carry. Shoppers Drug Mart carried this medication in 10ml vial for over 20 years, recently they changed the format of injection of this medication so that they can make more money without warning patients who rely on this medication twice and up to four times a day.

Shoppers Drug Mart poor return policy

My Sister purchased a gift "Radio" for myself for Christmas 2010.I did not want radio as I have enough already. So, went to return the radio with receipt in hand. The customer service agent said I would need the original debit card so she could return the amount to the card.I told her it was a gift, I did not purchase it and therefore do not have the debit card used to purchase it.She indicated could not return it, that this was the Shoppers policy.I indicated I am not asking for the cash back, but would be happy to accept store credit. She indicated they could not do that, as reiterated with her Supervisor.I said well that's not acceptable as
my sister is not in the area and I can't expect her to travel or send me her debit card, which I am not authorized to use.Nor would I pay shipping to send her the gift to return.I asked to speak with the Manager. The Manager indicated that they could not give me store credit and only return item to original debit card.I said well, your store is no longer just a Drug Store and that you advertise and promote Christmas gifts. He indicated to me that in fact I was the second customer with the same request in the last 10 mins. I indicated, country wide there is probably a thousand customers trying to return gifts.I then pointed out to the Manager the signage in the store that said "Christmas Gifts
Made Easy", that it was not easy at all and why would the Company take a chance with the loss of revenue to return the purchase to a debit card of the person(s) they have inconvenienced. He threw up his hands and said he would call the Corporate Office as I Requested. Not resolved to date!

I purchased cosmetics from another store and tried to return them to Northland Mall Shoppers in Calgary, the clerk refused to process the returns with the reason that each store is independently owned. She told me to return the items to the store where I made the purchase. I did not see any signs in the store nor was I told of this policy when I made the purchase. There is nothing on the receipt or on the return policy on Shoppers' website to indicate this is true.

I would have to disagree with you completely. How in the world do the employees at Shoppers know that your sister has bought this for you? You could be some random person trying to return stolen goods with a receipt. You have to accept the fact that each company has it's own policy. If you do not like it then well, too bad. The only person inconvenienced was you because you tried to get the employee to refund something that they could not. Continuing, you did not even purchase it so why would it bother you. Shoppers DrugMart did not inconvenience you, you inconvenienced yourself because you wasted your own gas. You need to comprehend the fact, that sometimes you will get Christmas gifts that you do not like and there is nothing you can do about it. If you truly did not want the product then send it back to your sister or give it to someone else! Why waste other people's time over something so silly. They can't refund or exchange it then they can't. On the Shopper's DrugMart website it clearly states, "Shoppers Drug Mart reserves the right to limit or refuse to accept the return of certain merchandise at any time and for any reason." Also it states, "Debit card will be refunded to the original debit card." Stop trying to be a grumpy customer for no reason, you should understand that customers need to follow and respect a company's policy.

There is a Shoppers Drug Mart at Eglinton Square Mall. I go there most often and purchase what I need. Every time that I have been in that location I find the staff rude and aggressive. Not only that these people chase me every time that I go for shopping as if I am a thief. My worst experience came yesterday as I went there to buy the Revlon lips tic which was on sale only for Saturday. I went there and asked for help, I waited for almost 20 minutes till I find a lady to help me. I bought the lip stick and than I noticed that I needed to buy a face wash. So I picked a couple different brand to ask their suggestion. The young lady at the counter was helping a women and than she took off without telling the customers in line that what she is doing. During this time another lady come from SDM employees and she helped another lady. I told her that I was waiting in the line and I should have been the next in line. Without any excuse or courtesy she told me that she help who ever she was dealing with and that I have a problem. I told her that she should at least call for another cashier or asked someone to help me. She rudely continue with her excuse and she called her manager that had no knowledge of her job and customer service. She was worst the two of her employee and not only that she told me that I only spend 5 dollar and they have customers that spend more and when I told her that I spend as much as I need and she has no right to discreminate the customers by how much they spend she asked me to leave in a very rude manner.
Now I work in a retail my self too and we had customers that was extremly rude to us and my manager. In this 12 years of my customer service experience not a single manager of mine or me or any of my colleagues have told the customer that she can not come to this store because he she is spending less money. And not to forget this location of SDM has mostly employees from south Asia that dominateed the whole store.

I totally agree they are rasist. I live in BC and there is a white lady who is not happy to serve for asian customers. She refused to take my parcel because "the wrapping paper is not good", saying it's gonna rip off easily. Then she pushed my parcel back. The way she talked was very rude and arrogant. I wonder if she does it towards white people. I used the same paper last time and another non white stuff took it and she was very helpful. This time eventually I went to another branch and a brown lady took it without any problem. This white lady gave me a hard time when I went to pick up my parcel also. I didn't know this kind of people exist here.

Shoppers Drug Mart refusal to accept mostly used antibiotics for environmentally friendly disposal

The pharmacist at the Humbertown Shopper's Drug Mart would not accept unfinished antibitics for environmentally responsible disposal. No other pharmacy has ever refused our attempts to keep drugs out of landfill and public land and water. Sylvia Des-Sahkian is the first who waved us away, disinterested in proper disposal. If you are hiring phar-macists who know less about the impact of the drugs they mix on the environment than the general population who hears it on the news everyday, you should not be in the pharmaceutical business. Educate your employees please or remove them from positions of responsibility.

Sincerely,
Basia Stec

Shoppers Drug Mart poor customer service

I just had an incident tonight with Shoppers Drug Mart. I have been dealing with the Shoppers Drug Mart at Danforth and Victoria Park (3003 Danforth Avenue, Shoppers World) for many years. I have filled almost all my prescriptions at the pharmacy there except for one recently.

I ran out of the medication which is crucial that I have every day. This Shoppers is near my house and that is why I usually fill the script there. I called to ask if they would sell me 4 days of pills till I go see the doctor to get a renewal. The pharmacist on duty, Jennifer Judges, says that since I hadn't filled the same prescription there for the past six months, that she could not give me an emergency ration. I told her that they are my usual store and that I filled the script across the city near my office just once because I was heading out of town and it was the most convenient that time only. She says that I should fill it at the other Shoppers. I tell her that it is across town, that I don't have a car right now, and I really need her to give me a small ration. I mention that she can call the other store to confirm that in fact I had the prescription filled by a Shoppers recently. She refuses.

I plan to lodge a complaint with the owner of the store as well as head office.

I want to file a complaint to an employee named "Josephine" who's a cashier at shoppers drug mart in north road, Burnaby location. She's very rude to customer. They're about to close but one employee let me in.. I said I'm just getting one thing. She said it's ok, there's 15 minutes more.. But the Josephine is too anxious to go home.. So she's so rude to me. I think she needs to learn more about customer service.

Shoppers Drug Mart, Beverly location, Edmonton, Alberta.
This location has the most ignorant and rudest staff I have seen in a long time.
The women at the till are very rude and dismissive if you ask for assistance. The security borders on harassment. This location needs to have a major overhaul of employees.

Was called from shoppers corp advising that we were part of a new customer service program and that they noticed that my perscription was coming due and had no more refills. They asked if I would like them to fax doctors office to have my prescription renewed. I replied that would be nice as it would save a call to the office. No problem they said but it would be 10$ for them to fax the request. Our local store had done this in the past no issues and no fees. I felt like give us 10$ and we will give customer service. We have had no issue with our local store who have always been excellent to deal with. I did raise the issue at local store and advised this was a corporate program and that the would raise the issue their local rep. I called customer service and they said call would not have been from corporate however when we asked the caller confirmed it was corporate. Left name and number with corporate and will see if anything comes of it, but not holding out hope it will maybe look at another drugstore.

You were correct and you know it when asking for the prescription to be confirmed. Is it possible that once again Shoppers Drug Mart led a bad example about what the focus is? Not the customer needing assistance especially when it comes to health.
I can't be possitive about this, but I believe that a full prescription can be transfered from one store to another anywhere to be filled. Of course the store filling the prescription is the atore getting the financial credit for doing so, and the other store looses the money for the prescription.
If the store owner didn't own both stores for the financial gain, or didn't want to encourage transfer of prescription to other stores in taking business away a store...is the most unethical behavior in health care.
If a Doctor has prescribed medication for the health benefit of a human being and the Pharmacist isn't concerned with making sure the patient (your more than a customer when it comes to prescription) is getting the health benefit intended by a genuine health practioner, I cant think of anything more unethical than that. It is almost criminal it is so inhuman.

I would like to mention to all those tourists who visit Montreal about a Shoppers Drug Mart ( PharmaPrix in Quebec) in my neighbourhood where the service is consistently poor. It is the Ste. Catherine Ste /Saint Alexandre St. location across from the H&M store and the St. James Cathedral. The staff are consistently rude and the drug store pharmacist is the rudest and refuses to speak to customers in English unless you press her too. I have seen instances when they have been rude to other customers while shopping the store. Compared to other Shoppers stores, it is messy with staff constantly blocking aisles to stock shelves without so much as an apology to customers. Can't they do this during store closing hours? I have taken to shopping the much nicer Shoppers Drug Mart at Place Ville Marie which is a bit more distant from my home but the staff and conditions of the store are much more pleasant overall. In any case, if you want a pleasant customer service experience, shop at this store and not the one on Ste. Catherine and Saint Alexandre.

I received a delivery notice from Canada Post to pick up a letter from the post office after a delivery attempt. I went into the post office at Shoppers Drug Mart as directed by the card indicating that it could be picked up after 1 pm the next day. After waiting in line I was told by the clerk that it was not there because Canada Post does not make a drop off to their post office on Friday. She said that I would have to return on Monday to pick it up. I clarified what she said to me and I commented that it was difficult to make out the information on the notice. The other clerk as I was walking away made a comment to the effect: "They never have they never will" and then they both snickered. When I got home I called the store back and asked them who I should make a complaint to about the inaccurate information on the card. She directed me to Canada Post and I also mentioned to her that I didn't appreciate the sarcastic comment that the other clerk made while I walked away. Not only did she not apologize all she did was say ok - this is not the first time I have received poor service and attitude at the post office. On a previous occasion I received an abrupt attitude from the same younger clerk. It almost makes me think that there is some form of racism going on as I am of Asian descent and I don't hear her speaking or interacting with other customers (who are white) the same way. Also the complaint process with Shoppers seems rather poor - are they really concerned about how customers feel or think?

Shoppers Drug Mart poor customer service - pharmacist

Repeatedly treated poorly by male asian young pharmacist.
He was the only one servicing the pharmacy and I waited with my infant son at the RX IN location while after seeing me there he left the pharmacy area to go talk to another employee about sports - noticing me the entire time. The employee he was talking to looked at me and said "someone will be with you shortly" because he obviously felt bad for the pharmacists lack of care. 10 minutes later the pharmacist came to take the prescription - then telling me something was wrong with the prescription and he had to call the doctor. He had nothing to do but refused to call my doctor while I waited and told me he would give me a call. When I asked for the prescription back he refused and said something was wrong and he had to call her. I ended up filling the prescription there (a few hours later - never knowing what was wrong) but will NEVER return there.

Shoppers Drug Mart bogus gift card

A few weeks ago I took advantage of their shopping promos – Spend $50 and get a surprise gift card for Shoppers Drug Mart. I scratched it and revealed a $10 gift card (PLU4478). I put this aside knowing that I would use it again in a 2-3 weekss. When I went to use it, I was very surprised to find an expiration date - missed it by 1 day. The cashier never mentioned it to me at the time she handed it to me. I normally shop when they have 10x or 20x Optimum Points promo, so I never had the opportunity to use their gift card before and assumed it worked like a regular gift card. Since no expiration dates are applied to the points earned at these special promos, the same should hold true of the gift cards - indefinite expirartion date. But if a card has an imminent expiration date, customers should be advised. Otherwise, I think the right thing to do is to offer those customers a regular gift card as a replacement.

This complaint was lodged with their Head Office. Despite their long-winded politically-correct answer, their position boiled down to "tough lucK" .

Considering the number of shopping trips I have made to Shoppers over the years, I thought they could have handled this with more class.

CONSUMER BEWARE: Their promotional gift cards expire within 2-3 weeks.

Just to let you know it is not a "GIFT CARD", it is a promotional coupon. Therefore, they are allowed to expire. You should know that any promotion will not be valid forever, all promotions have a while supplies last or valid until. I find it ridiculous that you complained and got upset over the fact that you did not read the coupon - which by the way, the expiration date was clearly stated.

What is the dress code for the Shopper Drug Mart Staff ? Do they get to wear crocks and flip flops, no socks etc ? Isn't this a health concern, especially for a Health Store.

I dropped off a prescription refill at Shoppers Drug Mart - Montrose Rd. Niagara Falls on January 7, 2012. I went today January 9, 2012 to pick it up. The young lady assisting the Pharmacist could not find the order. She looked through some books and then I heard her ask the Pharmacist "Are you going to sign off on this prescription"? He replied "No". She explained that the script could not be read by the Pharmacist so he refused to fill it. I asked him for the script - I could read it. The girl called my Dr.'s office and they confirmed over the phone the script - he still refused and asked for a new one - however, the Dr. would not be in till the next day to re-do script for me. I needed my blood pressure pills. I asked "why did no one call me at home so I could have taken care of the matter"? No reply. I requested my script back and left. I attended the Dr.;s office seen another Dr. and explained what had happened - he was stunned. I took the new script to another Drug store and low and behold - I could not get my refills because they had been filled and processed already at Shoppers Drug Mart! I thought he could not read the script? Is this fraud? I am pissed! shannon goba very mad consumer!

The gift CASH card promos are a SCAM. In fact all their promos and their 'optimum' program overall is badly administered and not well planned out at all. Half the time the promos overlap BUT you cannot take advantage of that. The CASH cards are NOT treated like CASH at all! There are wayyy too many hoops and rings of fire to jump through. The customer service is the worst ever - from the front lines all the way up to corporate! I just received a reply from 'head office?" - from last year! UNREAL! and NO reference or explanation WHY it took this long! and it was a confused jumble of a response that really did not respond to my actual question! Every store seems to be owned/managed by someone else (hence BUCK PASSING is sooooooo easy!). They say they are open 24 hours BUT many services and stock are NOT THERE! Soooooo WHY be open! EVERY single store has different selection, stock, service (as in mostly NON) and even sales! WHY waste your time giving them your money! They do NOT deserve mine any more! I am spending my time and energy shopping elsewhere - where they VALUE customers! BUB BYE Shoppers - ROTSA RUCK CHUCK! They LOVE to point out ALL their FINE PRINT - BUT ONLy after you find out the hard way. SAVE time energy money - STOP SHOPPING SHOPPERS!

subject: Bad attitude of your cashier Ms. Christine? At register #1 at Shoppers Drug Mart #1516 located at 747 Don Mills Road, North York, ON M3C 1T2

To
President and CEO
Shoppers Drug Mart
[delivered via webmail box at http://fd3.formdesk.com/shoppersdrugmart/contact_us]

Dear Sir,

We are writing to express our disappointment at the rude and obnoxious manner of your female, oriental, pharmacist, with short, dark hair, wearing red-rimmed eyeglasses, displaying NO visible name-tag, but who responded to the name of [Chris? OR] Christine? When addressed by a fellow employee in the store.

We shopped at this Shoppers Drug Mart #1516 located at 747 Don Mills Road, North York, ON M3C 1T2 on 23 October 2010 in the late evening.

In return for our cash payment, this employee who was dawdling at another register [i.e. cash register #2 while she was supposed to be attending to cash register #1, and made us wait for OVER 2 minutes WHILE she PRETENDED to ignore us standing to pay for our purchases], gave us a TOONIE [i.e. 2 dollar Canadian currency coin] that was BADLY DEFACED in return for our BRAND-NEW $20 Canadian currency bill.

We politely requested her to provide us a COIN AND/OR OTHER currency that was NOT defaced, and explained to her that another merchant would be legally correct IF he REFUSED to accept THIS DEFACED coin that she was giving us. FURTHERMORE, WE ARE WITHIN OUR LEGAL RIGHTS TO REFUSE TO ACCEPT A DEFACED COIN AND/OR TORN &TATTERED CURRENCY NOTES FROM HER. THIS IS ESPECIALLY VALID SINCE WE DID NOT provide her ANY DEFACED AND/OR TORN & TATTERED CURRENCY.
SHE REFUSED TO DO SO.

We asked for the store manager. She told us that she was IN-CHARGE.

We asked her for the contact information for the head-office AND told her that we will NOT leave the store UNTIL we get what we are legally entitled to, i.e. AN ACCEPTABLE CURRENCY CHANGE, OR SHE CAN TAKE HER MERCHANDISE BACK AND CANCEL THE TRANSACTION. AND IF NEED BE, WE WILL CALL THE POLICE NOW AND TAKE THE MATTER UP AT SMALL-CLAIMS COURT, EVEN IF WE HAVE TO SUE SHOPPERS DRUG MART FOR HARASSMENT, MENTAL ANGUISH, PAIN & SUFFERING CAUSED TO US, AS A CONSEQUENCE OF THIS UNDUE HARASSMENT AND A VIOLATION OF OUR CIVIL RIGHTS.

AT THIS POINT, SHE EXCHANGED THE DEFACED TOONIE COIN FOR ANOTHER TOONIE COIN.

When she opened her cash-register again, we noted that SHE HAD PLENTY OF TOONIE, LOONIE AND QUARTERS IN HER CASH-DRAWER.

THEREFORE, this was NOTHING BUT AN EVIDENCE OF BAD ATTITUDE BY YOUR STAFF, FOR INCONSEQUENTIAL REASONS AND PURE HARRASSMENT TO US.

Please be advised, that the best advertisement ANY business carries is by word of mouth, irrespective of the dollars spent on promotions, optimum-card-deals, and advertisement. And this employee ON YOUR PREMISES, WEARING YOUR UNIFORM, CONDUCTING YOUR BUSINESS, REPRESENTED YOUR SHOPPERS-DRUG-MART logo and store.

WHAT do YOU think we have to tell people WE KNOW about Shoppers Drug Mart and our experience.

Therefore, we are constrained to observe, that in comparison to your competitors at PharmPlus/ Rexall and Zellers, the quality of your EMPLOYEES is MUCH below an acceptable level.

I made a complaint regarding customer service at this store. I believe through using your website this complaint was listened to and acted upon. I thank you for your help in this matter.
I want to state that the apology was slow in coming to me from the Duncan store, but I am satisfied that the owner now knows the problems she has and will act in a rigorous manner to change bad customer service.
Bravo Zulu to Complaints Board.

The store employees represent the store. So the store is responsible for the conduct of it's employees.
Complaining to store management does nothing with Shoppers Drug Mart. It is a superficial farce.
The reward system is effectively not much use. 10, 000 points buy you a cookie. It is comparable to that offered by competitors such as Metro (AirMiles) and Zellers (HBC reward points).

I agree with these people, I too recently had a really bad exprience at my local shoppers in calgary (i will post my story later) anyway it is the principal of the matter not the value of the toonie, the level of service I received was terrible. What i feel is that people will have issues with people wherever you go that is the nature of humans its not really fair to tarnish a complete stores reputation based on an incident. I love shoppers drug mart their reward system is brilliant (if you havent figured it out i am willing to enlightn everyone on that subject) and the incident i had was way morev serious than this one posted. Im sure I will get negative responses to mine when i get around to posting it too :)
If you dont get a certain level of customer service from a large store you should complain so that person can be repremanded and the store can fix the problem, this in the end will keep improving customer service and then there will be less incidents in the future. Good customer service skills are getting harder to come by.

I AGREE. Shoppers Drug Mart has been KNOWN to VIOLATE private citizens rights SIMPLY because they think they can get away with it. UNLESS PUBLIC OPINION is mobilized AND they realize that this can ADVERSELY affect their sales and reputation, as a consequence of US private citizens exercising our RIGHTS IN VOICING OUR opinion, NOTHING is going to change. They should have provided PROPER currency, especially since the cashier had the cash available with her.

We DISAGREE with you.

The question is NOT "perfect shinny new coinage", but IF Shoppers can REFUSE DEFACED currency, THEN so CAN an ORDINARY PRIVATE CITIZEN.

It is about Shoppers BAD attitude and treating customers LIKE DIRT AND being BUREAUCRATIC, simply because they are a corporation with more money.

Shoppers Drug Mart employee

Hi, I went early this morning to the Shopper's Drug Mart (10/08/10 at around 8:00am) seeking the advice of the pharmacist on duty about a burn I had gotten on my hand the night before. When he came around to assist, I noticed he was completely drunk, plastered, gone, he did try to help but I couldn't take him seriously. It was a sad sight.
What made it worse is I sought out a manager at the store and when I finally found one (down at the perfume area) I told her about the situation and she stared at me like I was insane. After a few moments of silence she muttered "...well, that's not like him", as if she was defending him before she had even gone up there to check out the situation.
In the end, I didn't get the help I needed, felt I was treated like an insane person, and will never shop at Shopper's Drug Mart again - also, will be letting everyone on Facebook know about what happened and where it happened.
Cheers,
David

Shoppers Drug Mart seniors 20% discount

Shoppers Drug Mart offers a seniors discount of 20% the last thursday of the month. I waited to purchase a $69.99blood pressure monitor expecting to save 20% $14.00 I also got a few other things. The blood pressure monitor had been reduced by $5.00 but was not marked as on sale. I was charged $2.00 more for the only item that was not on sale.
My total savings was $2.20. Totoal savings $.20. No where did it say 20% off on regulared priced items only. I found out at the cash register.
It seems they take of a few dollars off the higher priced items to avoid giving the 20%. As far as I am concerned this is a ripoff. I would have paid the same the day before or after.

I agree totally. Today was the first day ever that I attempted a seniors discount at Shopper Drugmart. Milk regular price $4.29. Today on sale for $3.97. Should have paid $3.44. What gives. There is no benefit to shopping at Shoppers Drugmart as a senior. They only encourage seniors to drive unnecessarily to their store. Nice! That is what is needed more seniors driving unnecessarily. If you can't stand behind your pledge to sell with integrity to the public then please don't.

Shoppers Drug Mart rude customer service

Simple situation - Pharmacy staff member takes job frustration on me. Yells at me because they are understaffed and dont have time to fill my prescriptions.
I complained on the survey, called the customer service line and reported problem to a pharmacist at the store.
Everyone is very sorry - if it happens again call them.
I decided to move my business and end collecting optimum points for airmiles.
No one person is regretfull that they lost my business. I thought I would try again to make my point, but customer service really cant figure out the issue.

No customer retention policy or department exists.

I did all my food shopping there -

Shoppers Drug Mart poor service

I went to shoppers drug mart yesterday on montreal road, I usually go to the one on vanier parkway but I was in a rush and decided to go to the one on montreal road and st laurent. Big mistake! There was no one there to help me on the floor and then finally I get to the cash and theres a huge line up but the cashier doesnt do anything about it.. ? Her name was tina marie, she didnt smile, she was rude, she didnt even look like she was happy to be there, not only that but she wasnt even wearing the proper uniform, I mean her pants were black not blue and they were so tight, they were almost about to rip. She and the management should know better then to wear something like that to work! This was the worst shopping experience ive ever had. Oh yes and she forgot to ask me for my optimum card, usually the cashier always asks me if I have mine and thats when I take it out. This time she didnt ask and so I forgot and then she tells me she cant add my point anymore. It was her mistake I know she could of asked someone to add the points but she proceeded to the next customer. They are opening a new store and let me tell you I wont even look at it! Its going to take me a long time to walk back into any shoppers drug mart.

I have been to 4 different location in BC. Namely Davie Street, Granville Street, Richmond Mall and Royal City Mall and they are all the same. I like the fact that some of their location operate 24 hours but in general their service sucks big time. Lack of customer service training or just basically lazy bunch of employee. Very slow at the cash register and hardly any staff on the floor to assist the customer. The wait at the cash register can be very long and none of them even bother to open another till until someone complaint. Hardly smiles at customers or being apologetic for the long line and most of them seems unhappy behind the counter. They should have a name tag that says buy it or leave it because I don't give a rat ###! Seriously, I think 90 years old seniors are more energetic and can do a better job then their current employee.

Shoppers Drug Mart shoddy service

Re: the shoppers drug mart pharmacy at 2345 yonge street, toronto on.

I dropped off a prescription before 10am this morning and at 6:30pm it still was not ready. Moreover, 3 staff chatted away for several minutes, ignoring customers waiting at the pick-up counter.

This is not the first time my husband and I have experienced extremely poor service and lack of courtesy at this location. While the lackadaisical customer service is especially pronounced at the pharmacy, even the general staff members here are difficult to find, the check-outs are always undermanned and the staff lacks knowledge of products and services.

Considering we pay a higher dispensing fee at shoppers drug mart than at others, we cannot adequately express the depth of our disappointment and reluctance to continue as shoppers drug mart customers for any purchases whatsoever.

A cursory apology is not sufficient.

Re: Mohawk and Upper Ottawa, Hamilton, Ont.

I was in there on 12/13/11 at around 7pm. I wanted to buy a perfume gift box but I had other items to buy in the store. I set the gift box on the cosmetics counter and said I'll be back. When I returned she had a long line at the cosmetics counter so I tried to bring it to the front cash and she said I couldn't do that. Pressed for time I left it there. When I got to the front I was being checked out by a supervisor, when I asked her about bringing the gift box to the front she said she would refuse me service. I then said that I would not be back and she said that's fine, goodbye. Both ladies were a bit rude with me. My question in all of this is "Where was the customer service?" I stayed polite and expressed my disappointment with the store. It's to bad when there are so many stores competing for business.
I suppose they don't need my business that bad.

Shoppers Drug Mart pharmacist

My husband and I attempted to purchase diabetic supplies and some Aleve from the pharmacist "Alim". His complete rudeness and lack of professionalism caused us both to become upset, leaving the store and all of the purchases behind. This pharmasist was blatently annoyed at my questioning of the use patient profiles for non-prescription purchases and we were told repeatedly "you can get this somewhere else". Well we did go to another pharmacy where we were not only treated with professionalism and dignity, but plan to make all of our non-perscription purchases in the future.

I was given a prescription for Chloroquine for Malaria prevention.
The instructions on the vial said take two tablets daily instead of two tabs weekly.
The tabs were 250mg.

I knew this was wrong because I am an RN, but if I had taken them I am told I would have been extremely ill or worse. I would have been in Belize in a remote area .

I understand this error should have been reported to Head office by the pharmacist.

I would like to be assurred that it was. I only want to know what checks you have, or need to add to avoid errors in transcribing the order from the script to the bottle.

my husband went into one of your stores to pick up his prescription that he had called in for and told him it will be ready for him anytime after 12:00PM(noon) was told to wait 2 minutes by the pharmacist herself. Waited and then she started to say that she is by herself after he has been waiting for more than 15 minutes and was told that she was busy in getting orders ready and went on ingoring him and others customers also. Ever seen store#0755 was changed over owners the new owner and his staff that work for him in the pharmacy counter have been very rudy and the service has gone down hill. My husband and his family have been with you guys for a very long time over 20 years + and ever seen of the change the service is like i said above. He even asked to seak to a asst. manager and was told that she can not do anything for himbecause it was the long weekend and he canspeak to the owner himself. I was very upset when he told me what happen and he never even got his pills that he order because of the pharmacist would not service him, i know that it is the long wekend, but i also work in retail and you schedule your staff in to help you exspeciallyat a pharmacy. So because of that know i will have to go and get his pills on my lunch time and waste my time for her stupity. Maybe you may want to take a look at this store again and get people that are willing to have better manners to their customers and better people skills and that are willing to want to work for you and not make you lose customers because i will be polling out if that keepsgoing on and i will make sure i spread the news about that pharmacy to all my family and friends and between myself and my husband we are a big family and i know lots for people that use the pharmacy for their prescriptions.I hope someting happens that it will turn around for the better and that the staff have better attitudes towards their customers becauseif it was not for us they will not ahve a job to fill.

Um, how many times have you had to do this? Shouldn't you have an inhaler *with* you? I don't know what it's like there in B.C., but here pharmacists can't prescribe. For emergencies, we tend to use "9-1-1" instead of a random 24-hour drug store (that apparently you were even registered in). Perhaps you could write the B.C. Health Minister to get such a service in your neighbourhood...

No one wants to see you suffer, but you're really not helping things. Please do yourself and everyone else a favour, and take more responsibility for yourself and your health.

I went into shoppers drug mart 100-7322 King George Hwy in Surrey Bc with an asthma attack. I couldn t breath at all and went to the nearest 24 hour store. The asthma attack happened at 7 am. Barely able to speak I showed them what I needed, they proceded to ask me for my care card and register me in their files which took 15 minutes. Any time I have run out of medication and had to go get a new prescription they would run to the back to give me the inhaler then ask me questions. To top it all off the pharmicist Caty was extremely rude. I couldn t believe how horrible that they were! It disgusted me!

Shoppers Drug Mart customer service

I purchased some eye makeup remover from Shoppers Drug Mart. It was their own cosmetics brand (Quo) and has the same return policy as the Life brand (satisfaction guaranteed!). It did not work very well and it stung my eyes. I sent an email to the company and told them I would be returning the product. I never did hear back from anyone.

I went to Shoppers to return the makeup remover. The cashier seemed new and was not familiar with the return policy (something I'd assume is part of basic training). She commented that it was used (um, yes, that's how I know it stings my eyes!). The other problem was that I didn't have my receipt.

She called the manager, who was not familiar with the return policy, either. I had to quote from the company's website that I could return a Quo product without a receipt for a full return or exchange. The manager took my word for it but said I would have to come back between 9-5 and do the return with the cosmetics manager!

The experience was completely ridiculous - I threw out the product and never returned (I work between 9-5).

She should definately be fired! Nobody should be allowed to treat others that harshly.
