Since my termination from Securitas I have been looking up the complaints filed against them they stack up rather high . My complaints of Securitas does indeed go along with the other complaints that I have seen false reports from Securitas Bloomington Office to cover there own tracks . I was terminated as a supervisor for checking on my crews . as Securitas says i was responsible for there actions, after hearing several complaints of Security Officers napping on there post, playing with lap top computers all night, watching movies, ect not doing what they were getting paid to do . after checking on the Officers one night it took bloomington Branch manager 2 months to respond or after another Officer was fired to begin to harrass myself as Branch Manager called it a investigation but was allowed to ask employees if they observed myself doing any wrong doing . the focus went from them not doing there job to me . Our security was poorlly trained if trained at all . I had been asking for more training for our security team and that they needed to be focused on working as a team . Bloomington Office did not agree with my high expectations from security instead i was terminated . And barred from from the military site i was working. The branch manager went as far as telling the employees they could not speak with myself or be seen with me or the would be repramanded or terminated. I returned my equipment in good faith as i said i would the Bloomington Office will not return my personal belongings to me . Securitas employment hotline was a joke also i filed a complaint as did another employee both our responses were the same on different issues. hard to believe this company can stay in the guidlines of security contracts as they dont want to spend the miney or the time on there employees. the pictures posted are of the poor conditions provided to security no running water, no shade from the heat

I can agree i have worked for securitas in the medical field for over 2 years at a kaiser hospital in california and i have had to deal with a lot of the same garbage no water or sun screen not allowed to wear a wide brimmed professional hat at my own expense working overtime almost constantly for 2 years I have watched them fire good people while keeping losers around We asked for new equipment and were told they don't have money we have to do standby on 1799/5150 patients in the emergency room for 6 sometimes more than 12 hours on hard floors asked for golf cart to get around the hospital campus easier and quieter told no money were currently short of people were working 12 to 16 hours and now the security and pharmacy management have put there heads together since the pharmacy is getting new computer software that they want an officer in the pharmacy 12 hours a day seven days a week in plain clothes with a radio and our hospital I. D. when the officer hand book states we are to be in uniform when on duty just another way of securitas saving kaiser money I informed my supervisor and security manager i didn't think it was legal by going against policies of ethics and uniforms and that i would not do it but it's like kaiser have policies but don't enforce them i notified my supervisor and manager if i am forced to do this i was going to resign after being named officer of the year last year and not calling off once in over 2 years there response none so i will probably won't be there much longer just shows you are right we don't count just the almighty dollar counts

Securitas does take little notice in their consistently well performing officers, as they tend to not toot their own horns while taking care of business. Securitas also tends to promote the officers that suck up to the clients (meanwhile missing very very key security issues while they're busy doing so), this leaves the clients feeling great- until the client sees the hole in that problem when the loss of money comes into play and hits like a freight train when sued etc.
Now, what I can't understand is how some of these officers / former officers are not taking a little time to read over their posts before posting. It makes you look like an angry person with no actual education, so you will not be taken as seriously. Watch what, and how you write. It helps with credibility.
The officers need to operate smarter to be more efficient and ready, while not being to busy sucking up to the client with petty side jobs like assisting with food deliveries (meanwhile missing fist fights down the sidewalk 30 feet away as they are distracted). This person got promoted from where I work. Making people happy doing what she wasn't supposed to be doing, missing critical security flaws, but made enough of the right people happy that she moved up.
So, that being said. Securitas needs to keep molding together people with high awareness that notice things such as this. They seem more interested in if client is happy momentarily, rather than if a site is properly secure and happy in the long run.

I've been with Securitas for 3+ years. I have seen them put someone with no time at the site, no credentials, no experience, over me, because I am a female. Then say they didn't know I was interested in moving up and I didn't ask about the job they "Didn't have to post and were not obligated to fill from in site". There was someone in that position until they took HIM out and had another MAN to slap in it. Since then, the guy quit and the position has remained unfilled for 9 months ...and I still work there. The boss misses more work than the entire department combined. He was out 21 days last year, and only worked 16 hours off his scheduled hours. I worked 135 hours over my regular 40 hour schedule. There is NO advancement for women at this site. There is NO raise in pay. There is NO thanks for going above and beyond for them. The big office management never talks to you and could be compared to kitty litter...they only cover S**T up when they are called on it.

I've been with securitas for a little over a month I am a commissioned officer working at a non commission post . The thing is this post should be commissioned because I'm out. In the middle of no where and there is a lot of nice cars in the parking lot we don't even have a guard shack we have to sit in a chair on the sidewalk what they don't understand is that this post can be very dangerous because you hear constant gun fire you have wild dogs and you have people driving in and out of the parking lot all night with me there with just a flash light what the f*** is a flashlight going to do if the perps have guns I need my 45 FNH that would make me fill a lot safer and a lot better.

After reading all the above mentioned complaints, what do you expect from a company that puts the bottom line first above all else? They are in business first to make money! The CEO has to make his million plus salary and perks, the regional presidents need to make their $250K salaries plus big bonuses, the Area VPs, oh yea, they make anywhere from $75, 00 to $150, 000 a year plus bonus, and the branch managers? They are knocking down $40, 000- $75, 000 depending upon where they live, how many years they work for the company, and good they are on their knees. You little piss-ants should be GREATFULL there is enough to pay you anything at all! Now, I said that tongue and cheek, but that's many of those bozo's think because I used to be one of them! You need to UNIONIZE FOLKS! And I don't mean the SEIU which in Securitas back pocket, , , YOU NEED TO BE REPRESENTED BY A SECURITY UNION! NOT A UNION THAT REPRESENTS JANITORS WAITERS, HOUSEKEEPERS, ETC! YOU need a Union that gets YOU, the people who generate the big bucks the money first, before it goes up to the FAT CATS! Stay tuned, more to follow!

Alvin Cowan messed up, he wrote a total fabrication, and was patted on the back, for insulting a female? Securitas was supposedly founded on the three core values, of integrity, helpfulness, and vigilance. Where is the integrity, in assuming all call offs are bogus? Where is the integrity in not responding to their emails? Where is the integrity in blocking all emails from some one's ip address. The problem is some of us, know our rights. That we believe in justice, and we once thought Securitas did too. If seeing is believing, than see/believe. My brother had a base ball size tumor, removed from his head, and that is no lie.
I don't lie, and upper management does not stick to their values, they are a joke/ a lie.

The truth is these men hate openly, and the point being made here, is that people are doing their job, and getting fired for it, where is the justice in that?

Nothing personal. That's Business. If you can't do the job. Move over and let someone else do it. So many times. People constantly call off for lame reasons. Or they mess up at the client's site which cause the company to lose the contract. There are always two sides to the story and then there is the truth.

I have been retaliated against as well. Greg Pratt came to my site, last May. About the same time, that I got involved with a wonderful man, from Winston-Salem, N.C. I had called the Greensboro office weekly, asking them to put me to work, finally, Debbie Cox just brushes me off completely, by saying she had jobs, and a new contract, and openly refused to hire me. Told me that she would not put me on the new site! Opening in July!
Greg gets told by me, that I may be moving to Winston-Salem, and boom, four candidates get sent to train, and the one training to work my vacatioin? Yeah right. His name is Alvin Cowan, and he says that Greg told him that I was leaving and the position was his. He put me through hell, those three days, questioning everything that I told him, and chewing me out, because he jumped to the conclusion, that I was reporting him, to Greg? OMG!
I have worked for this company for six years, and my word means nothing?
This nimwit, is accepting hours he has not been trained for, in September, and writes me up to the client, on an incident report, which is a total fabrication, and slander, and Greg says he had no choice?
Than, when I write the hotline, I got permoted, and a dollar increase, and again, omg! Leroy McCall, comes out to the post, saying to me directly, " I hate that I actually had to come in here!", and again reported to the hotline, hello?
Now, my brother is under the knife, with a brain tumor, and Greg says, sorry. I am on vacation, and Leonard wont respond to his query for training? How many more lies? How many more laws does this company think that they can break?
I have been stalked, slandered, and when I presented the office with the concerte evidence that my bratty spoiled officer, had taken his complaints of me, directly to the client, can we say hello? He did not get fired?
As long as, Kedan Suon, Alvin Cowan, Greg Pratt, Debbie Cox, Leroy McCall, work for this company, I have a solid case, against them, for discrimination/open harassment. But another law was broken in my email last night, when Greg Pratt told me I could not take bereavement time, for the odds against my brother surviving, are slim.
Teresa,

I am on vacation this week. We have no one to cover your shift. We are waiting for Leonard to give us the word on when he can train. Leroy is covering while I am away this week.

Subject: Not good...urgent read!

They are operating in the morning, they have offered no hope for his surviving surgery. I may should take tomorrow off.
This is very delusional on their part, because I have all ready been in touch with the EOEC, and the labor board, for Leroy's taking my time, when I was told at class the time sheets would not be faxed in early, on account of it is breaking the law, which Securitas seems to not care about.

I was recently hired on at a Securitas site in Norton Virginia, the area of patrol was a local hospital. The training that I was supposed to take to become a "Unarmed" guard was over two hours away and at MY expense to get there . Also the training was to be done on my days off and I was to still report to work as posted, with or without sleep . Most guards are allowed to carry pepper spray, not at this location! Citizens are allowed under Virginia law to carry pepper spray, but not a Securitas Security officer! What is wrong with this picture? Think about it...You approach a hostile individual and try to calm the person down, when all of a sudden you get peppered right in the face! And most likely the individual beats the F**K out of you or worse you get shot dead($7.25 an hour is it worth it?) ! You call for the police but when the dust clears... the individual is gone and can't be located! As for the insurance offered, even my Supervisior said "it was an ok SUPPLEMENTAL" insurance, which says alot(it sucks). The pay is only $7.25 phr and only 30 hrs per week unless someone quits, which seems to happen alot to this company, ( Securitas says 30 hrs . is considered full time...[censored] !) . I know times are tough and if we can get employment TAKE IT, but let me just say I'am one American who will not get "Taken" by a company that has no respect for it's employees. I have worked for many other companies before and the training they send you to was paid for, and you were paid for being there, and if you had to take your own car you were compensated . Securitas get real!

I work for securitas also. I thwarted a diesel theft awhile back and almost got fired because the report I filed didn't "Show enough action on my part".

You are absolutely right on the worthless insurance part too.

I worked for Securitas for 2 years I'd worked faithfully on some of the worst posts the company had to offer they routinely denyed me things such as the proper amount of water I needed with my heart medication and I ended up in the hospital several times as a result. Now as you know overtime is mandatory and I'd just gotten off a 20 hour shift (they hide this fact in the way you fill out your time sheet) and they told me I needed to go to another post to pull a 12 hour shift where two guards had been shot. Now the Tucson branch of Securitas is all unarmed guards so I refused to put my life in anymore danger than I had already done and I was promply fired. They head of our schedualing department was known to have sexual relationships with guards in return for better posts which I was commonly denied. Today I went to get my hire and fire dates to fill out my current job application and I was told that it is against company polocy to provide me with that information. This is a micky mouse outfit that abuses their people and neglects their clients I wouldn't recomend this company to my worst enemy.
