Sears LCD TV / selling tv's they don't have in stock

I ordered a 46'' LCD tv by Sharp. Sears has broken the law by not sending me the TV I ordered and by not notifying me the TV would not be recieved on time. Please contact me if this happened to you as we are considering a class action lawsuit. One trusty sears employee told me the number is in the thousands of people affected.

We paid for a 46" TV on black friday and went to the collection point only to be took that they had no stock even though we were one of the first to pay! It has been 2 weeks - and we had no response / calls from Sears even though we have been trying to call them to sort this out.

Their usual reply is to say that they will call back 20 mins later - we have not heard from anyone.

We went in to Sears on the day we got a call from an automated line to say that they had our TV in stock after a 4-week wait.

We went to the collection point only to be told that there was no stock but that the automated system would just kick in and call the customer automatically on the date that delivery was promised if an associate had keyed your contact number in; this is suppose to happen even if there is no stock. So it appears that the system is not to act as a alert to the customer but as a pacifying device - which is counterproductive when you get a hopeful customer who becomes madder, when he makes it all the way to the store only to be told that his item is once again not available!

We went to Sears when we got a call too and were told the same thing as C. The associate swore blind that they did not have the item in stock even though we received a message to come collect. While the associate was trying to get rid of us, the stock guy came up with the item we had bought!! He said that you really had to look in the store and that the item was probably sitting there for weeks (i.e it would have been there the day we paid for it and we could have collected it then).

This is the last time we are shopping at Sears no matter what the price. The service is poor and it is just not worth the time and angst trying to reason with the salespeople at Sears.

Forget about fulfilling wishes at Sears - if only they could fulfil basic service. It has been a nightmare shopping at Sears.

i went to buy a LCD TV 46" samsung. first i did a price comparision and was going to get $70.00 off... but then the sales guy came and told us that they dont do price match from online stores (nobody told us before...and the american tv.com was listed on the sears in store website). then finally after waiting and doing the whole transaction we were ready to buy the tv and we bought it... when we went to pick up the tv ...they said its not in the stock... we went upstairs to ask them to give us some kind of compensation but they refused...it was a very very big inconvenience ...
