Sears failure to keep repair appointment

I have a product protection agreement on a kenmore refrigerator freezer. It malfunction on around December 23, 2010. I called for service on 12-24-10. I was told that service could not be provided until 12-29-10, between the hours of 8am-12pm. On 12-28-10 I received a confirmation for my appointment. On 12-29-10 after 10am I received a call saying that the repairman was unable to to provided me with service. Weather conditions and lack of personal was cited as the reason for their inability to honor our appointment. Weather conditions in my area have been stable since 12-26-10.

Sears rude managers

The manager named Pat Cruz from pick-up and returns department was very rude! We were tryin to return a RCA tv that didn't have good picture and she wasnt helping at all...don't they say customers are always first well let me tell you she gave us attitude and rolling her eyes and at times even raising her voice at us. At some point we told her that we wanted to talk to someone higher than her because we didn't want to deal with her anymore and she answered with alot of attitude that there was no one higher, that she was the higher person there could be. After like 40 minutes of arguing with her we returned the tv and to top it off we were charged with a 15% restocking fee and when we were leaving she still had the nerve to tell us all sarcastic to have a nice day.

Sears price match

Purchased TV on Dec. 15 from sears. That same TV was on sale in the local newspaper Dec. 27. at another store. I tried calling the sears store for info. on price matching and could not get anyone to answer the phone. I drove in the snow to the Sears store with the ad showing the same TV & model number. I had no problem with the salesman, but he had to get a manager to swipe his card to okay it. He called on the intercom 3 times in 20 min. for a manager to come. Finally he got someone from an office on the phone and was told that they did not price match because it was on sale from 7 to 12 that day. I was at the sears store at 11:am.that day and by the time they had told me that, I would not had time to get the $40. lesser sale price at the other store. The TV. I purchased from Sears is still in the sealed box never opened it was a Christmas present. [protected]@verizon.net

So, can't you just threaten to take it back and buy another one at another store if they don't adjust it? I was told I couldn't shop at Sears because I was returning a chainsaw that was under warranty and the motor blew in three weeks. I was told I was not getting a refund and they didn't have a replacement. I tried to start the chainsaw in the store, and the Manager took it as a personal attack. I ask him what exactly he was afraid of...it didn't work! I left with my money...but the point is, if you make a big enough fuss they will do anything to get you OUT of the store and not disturb the other consumers buying mood.

Sears terrible management

I am a former Sears employee. I was originally hired on to be a seasonal employee but was told that I would most likely be kept on. During the time that I worked for sears, I realized that even if I was asked to stay as a regular employee I wouldn't have done so. The job itself was tolerable, not physically demanding, but very mentally exhausting, the people I worked with were okay for the most part, and even the customers were tolerable. However, the manager of the department that I worked in was absolutely terrible! Now I know that most people will sound off about an employee because they don't like that person or for other reasons...mine is simply because I used to be a sales manager/training manager for a fortune 500 company and I know the necessary skills it takes to be a leader/manager. This woman did the exact opposite of everything that she should have done. For instance, it's a cardinal rule of being a leader/manager of ANY kind that you should be constantly communicating with your employees to make sure that everyone is on the same page...this woman would randomly disappear for large periods of time and about 99% of the time, she never told anyone where she was going. I came to find out that some of that time she was doing things like shopping on the clock, socializing with people from other departments, talking to friends/former employees that came into the store, etc. Some of the time that she randomly vanished she was doing things like making a schedule, checking in an order that needed to be brought up to the department, making signs, etc...the biggest problem I had with all of that (besides the fact that it's unprofessional and lazy) is that she DID NOT communicate with us! It's not that hard as a manager to say "hey, I'm going to _____, if you need me, page me." This became more of a problem as it got closer to christmas and we were constantly busy. Her lack of communication was also the main cause of some customer complaints: the department I worked in (fine jewelry) only allows employees that have been put through the necessary security background checks to enter the department...meaning that if she disappeared and there was only one person working up there, we couldn't just ask anyone to come in and help. Customers were regularly irritated for having to wait an extended period of time because she would just run off, and the employees were the ones who were blamed. There was even a time that she disappeared without telling anyone where she was going (which in this particular case ended up being to lunch), meanwhile she told myself and the other girl working that night that we had to take our lunches before a certain time. So, since we didn't know where she was (cause she never told us) we went ahead and took our lunches one at a time so that the department was never left without someone there to wait on the customers. I was the first of the two of us to take our lunch...while I was on lunch, the dept got busy, my manager got yelled at because there weren't enough people up there, and who got blamed? Me. Why? because I supposedly left the other girl by herself while the manager was on lunch...yet, if the manager had told me she was going to lunch, I would have waited until she returned...yet again, lack of communication.
On top of that, this manager carries a serious attitude while she's at work. Meaning if she's upset about something, or mad at someone, she takes it out on her employees by giving them the cold shoulder, having no common courtesy, and pretty much ignoring them. She also dictated to us employees all sorts of things to do while she would purposely avoid dealing with customers.

So when the news finally came that I wasn't going to be kept on after the holidays, I flat out told my manager that I wasn't upset. (this was because of her actions as a manager, or lack thereof.)

All in all...a terrible manager. In my personal opinion, this woman should be fired for her lack of professionalism, her terrible manners, and her bad ethics. My advice? Don't ever work for sears.

So you worked for the manager from Hell...fine, I'm sort of on your team up until your last generalization that because you encountered a manager you perceived as bad, no one should work for Sears? That's a very long leap there my friend...hardly applicable.

I think most people apply for supervisor or manager postion, because of the pay and they want to do less hands on work and boss people around.

I bought a new fridge from Sears that had an immediate problem and called it in, i was told i would have to wait three weeks as there was a labor problem. The serviceman came in may and could do nothing to repair the loud knocking noise so i called back to service and asked to have it exchanged but that i was leaving on holiday the next day. After some very rude women told me it only had a three month warranty i asked to speak to someone else and spoke to a man from corporate customer service. He told me no problem he would exchange it when i got back. So on my return i called in and was told they would not exchange it and suggested i return it which i did. Now they tell me i will be charged twenty percent restocking fee plus fifty dollars delivery fee. I cant believe they would treat a good customer in such a harsh way. I am a seventy year old retire on a fixed income, i live in assisted housing and cant afford such a economic hit as i have to buy another fridge when i get my refund. I spent thirty years selling appliances for Woodward and get my head around being treated like this.

DIFF DEPTS are outsourced in diff countries and can't communicate effectively i had an order that was canceled--multiple times--- that never got refunded. was not resolved after 6 calls--each an hour long of constant transfers. i finally just gave up and disputed it with my cc company. will NEVER order anything from sears again.

One employee outright lied to me and refused to give me his employee number-- he said it was against company policy. The next employee I spoke to said that was false. First guy was just trying to dodge responsibility for anything. Absolutely disgusting.

Beware before buying online product from Sears' website. They do not sell the same product they depict on their website but almost identical one. From bottom to the top people who work at Sears do not know what they are doing. Do not waste your money and energy at Sears. You will be only left with frustration and dissapointment. I will never shop again at Sears

Sears sears - most horrible store ever and getting worse by the minute

I vented a complaint a couple of days ago about a stupid toaster oven which I stupidly purchesed online at the end of November 2010 from Sears. I've been calling them and emailing them for information on my order since December 6 without results. After I wrote my complaint on this site I emailed to every Sears email account available to me at customer service and also to Sears headquarters. I've received no replys and my stupid toaster oven is still out there God-knows-where. It's been a month already! I'm out of my money, there is no one at SEARS to help me out, the person I ordered the toaster oven for totally frustrated and has given up waiting, and my nerves are raw. I have been making purchases online since 1996. I've shopped huge retail names, I've shopped un-known merchandisers, I've shopped small mom-and-pops sites and I have never ever experienced any problems. All of the items I have ever ordered came on time as promissed. If anything arrived to me damaged or less than what I expected I was able to return it immediately, without any problems, and my money was refunded promptly. My online shopping experiences have always been a joy ... UNTIL MY SEARS EXPERIENCE. To add salt to a wound, Sears customer service is clueless and no one answeres questions or concerns. I've been trying to stay calm and collected but I feel as if I'm dealing with a bunch of robots...no feelings, no concerns, programmed to speak in foreign tongues, programmed to read from script, programmed to do nothing! In one short month I have grown to despise Sears and swear to never have anything to do with them or their products again for as long as I shall live. I still have to deal with them to the point at which I someday receive my order or my money back, and I know that will be a long, gruelling ordeal but the second my problem is resolved Sears is dead, kaput, gone up in smoke, out of business, no longer a part of my life or the life of anyone in my family. My family members have all taken their Sears cards and shredded them. My Mom needs new appliances in January, she has shredded her Sears card and will be shopping Home Depot or Lowes. My daughter purchased Christmas gifts at Sears and has returned them and shredded her Sears card. She went to Macy's instead and got the best sale prices I have seen in a long time. I personally took anything I had in my house from Sears to the Goodwill center. Luckily the previous owner of my house didn't have any appliances from Sears or I'd have to gut my kitchen. The only thing I have left is an old garage door opener that isn't working and that will most happily be replaced with one from Home Depot or Lowes. Have a great life Sears!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello Darling Metzi,

How are you doing today? thanks for your sweet reply. I really appreciate it. Anyway my plans in the nearest future to establish and own big and attractive company or investment. mostly importantly i want to get married to a caring, down to earth, romantic, God fearing woman and live happily with her. the main thing in life that will make me happy is to have a loving, passionately man that i can call my own and i will love her and a happy family as well. am religiously indined, God fearing, Honey what i said i bought for you is real, is for you and not for my sister or mother, is for my future wife, why are you angry or upset?

You seem to be a very sweet woman...I pray and hope that we are both meant for each other, No one can predict the future, but trust and massive care is mandatory in every relationship and i really want that. women with great achievements are respected not for the things they really do but for the choices they make, i have decide to be a simple, loving and impacting person who apart from the achievements of great feet i have planned to have also plan to have a very loving wife and family ..for this is the secret to happiness in life...As life is better referred as a juxtapositions of different things ..or say and incoherent cohesion of mumble jumble so is my life a mixture of different things, skills, potentials and styles but one thing that unifies all this is the manner by which i express this indept characteristics and that is with a touch of simplicity, love for my fellow women, a mind of philanthropy, credence to the Lord God and finally with great love
for my loved one...
If love were music as it is said pls play on and let it serenade my soul as nothing in the world compares to love...this is the way i want my soul mate to think of me and to think when it comes to love...he should be simple in thoughts, resolute and principled in doings, smooth in talks and loving to others...to me he must be caring and get to know me as only those who love me can know me...if he possesses not these qualities, i will teach him...Whom we meet and don't, affect us a lot as success and failure is concerned in all the diverse aspects of life...more reason why we crave to meet the most seasoned of individuals and personalities...if i were given the chance to choose the qualities of my sweetheart, i would want a mannerism of simplicity ...that of love not just for me but also for humanity...A much more greater love for God from him and in him, i should see not just a lover but also a friend to the very end whom will trust in me even in the
face of a contrary evidence..whats more...he must be a bit jovial(cheerful if thats the word) and tolerant...wow! I was deep in thoughts lol...Anyway Sweetheart, I have to go now and I hope to read from you soon. I am thinking of you always. I will send your xmas gift to you tomorrow.

Sears liars

I work for Sears Home Improvements too and everything said is 100% true, they just know how to cover their butts that's it. All the sales managers seem lazy and no one wants to do anything! It's very disorganized and nothing is thought through by these higher-ups. No raises for the past 3 years and the benefits suck! They do not value employees at all and it's very stressful. They want you do a lot for nothing and want blood from a stone. It use to be a great company but it's not anymore. It's a real chore to go in. They have some decent people (like myself) but, they drive them away. They lie and try to sweettalk you and promise you this and that but it's not true at all. Very disappointed, I used to be proud to work for Sears, but not anymore. It's more for less. The contractors are hit and miss. We have some good contractors at our location. Whoever makes these decisions in upper managment (like Chicago) are idiots, I can run it better off of common sense with no college degree. Their service techs suck too. I have gotten so many customer phone calls about them and the stories are BAD. I do go out of my way to help them because that could be me. They don't invest in their offices/stores, our equipment is CRAP and they are so cheap, they pay their employees cheaply too, for our company to be highest price, we should be paid high especially for the amount of work we are doing. I'm so burnt out, I want to quit, but I can't. I have to pay bills. I do appreciate Sears for the start, but I won't stay until the finish. The sales reps goes through 3 weeks of training and sent out. Some of them might have prior contracting experience, but a lot of them don't. A lot of the reps don't know what they are selling, you should hear some of the installers complain about that too. It's not what it used to be, I think this company will go under, I'm surprised I haven't been laid off. I hate that they outsourced (a lot of complaints about that too) when I call HR and I can't even understand the person I'm talking to which sucks as well. They constantly through things (like new products are way) they dump them on us and expect us to do it (example: Monday: we are selling roofs and Tuesday: goes live) it's like trial and error. At time I feel like I'm stuck there. They screw people over big time and it's not right.
Disgruntled employee.
PS) I don't care if someone from Sears found out I said this (I don't care if it's Eddie Lampert), because it's all TRUE and you know it! Save it for someone else who will believe your lies. I hate to say this, even with this bad economy, you can FIRE ME for all I care, I would take the umemployment and someone can glady have my job because they wouldn't want it, they will quit after 3 months!

@bloojean, sorry for your experience, you should have not been treated that way at all. Very unacceptable. However, they are trained to present for like 2 hours (min.) and ask for the order. It is messed up that we have lost a potential customer.

Update by justmyself01

The rule of training also, is that every home you visit, has doors, windows, roofs, floors, carpet, bathroom etc. as well, so there you go.

Update by justmyself01
Jul 04, 2011 8:39 pm EDT

@Cherie, yes the reason he tried to pressure you into purchasing a new door was because that's what they are told in training. It's almost like brainwashing, sort of, Sears trains you into their mentality, their way of thinking and doing so you can sale. The reps are told to ask for an order 10 times @ a customer's home while giving the demo. It's messed up because I'm caught in the middle. I always treat the customer's that call with respect and try not to bounce them around. It's not the same Sears your/my parents/grandparents used, it's a NEW ball game. They get people in there to train and then feed them to the wolves and it seems like no one knows what they are doing.

Know the facts Reneh before you spout your mouth off. You probably would be a 'drone' like every other contractor for Sears. Never speak up, until they're getting rid of you IN A HEARTBEAT because you catch them at their game. Honesty, hard work, and loyalty doesn't matter anymore in this filthy country. From stomping on the Native Indians and taking their land, to taking the Mexicans land in the west, the African slaves, invading every country and stealing their resources since WWII, to Obummer's communist regime that plagues our White House. Great ###ing country we live in, I can't wait to scam other americans. I live now to scam every american the best I can. Good luck sheeple!

f*** you James H. You people are all the same. f***ing robots that know how to lie threw their scams when they suck your money out of the contractors, and customers. They took 12% from the HVAC contractors in Wisconsin a year and a half ago. Now we found out the Sears' decision maker on that got fired for the gouge, but do we see any of our money back? The car salesmen sell furnaces too big, too small, wrong tonnage of A/C systems, and then they tell the contractor to go back out and warranty furnace and A/C parts, equipment, for a year. Did I make the f***ing furnace? Did I assemble the f***ing compressor? The ### wage they pay you isn't worth it. Meanwhile, they are making $2, 000.00 profit on every furnace install. The 2 year labor agreement costs the same as the wage Sears pays it's contractors to install the furnace. They 'double up' on the warranties. The Master Protection Plan warranty states that they start at the time of installation of the equipment, but they also promise a 1 year parts and labor warranty provided by the contractor, good for the first year. i can only hope you lose your job too James H., when Sears goes under like everyone else, Kmart, Radio Shack, ...

I am a former employee and created www.searshomesucks.com to share with former and potential customers of Sears Home Improvement Products what I have witnessed and to create a place for others to share their home project experiences by Sears.

During my employment at Sears, I have witnessed hundreds, possibly thousands, of home improvement projects completed without proper permitting or the use of licensed contractors. This is a serious concern and should not be taken lightly. Please take the time to browse this site and learn more. The safety of your home and family could be at risk.

Please share this site with your family and friends or anyone you know that had work done by Sears.

I had sears come in for HVAC replacement estimate. They did not want to discuss price. Basically two people showed up, one guy had a binder with great history of Sears and how they stand behind their product. The other one was just milling around measuring the house, which made me nervous. Only thing I wanted was the price, because that was most important for me. I had several quotes already from local electrician, and I wanted to compare. Well 2 hours into presentation, I just said, "listen I don't have much time for this, can you just get to the price." They produce this paper, showing how they'll back up their product and how great their customer service is. Still no price. AFter around 3 hour mark, they finally produce a price sheet. It is double what other local dealers were charging for the same product. when I told them other companies price quote, they began bad mouthing how bad their company is and how they can ruin your house. They finally said, they can come down 10% on price if I made up my mind right now... Pressure selling is not a way of getting my business. I told them, this is not gonna do it. Sorry you have to waste your time, but I can't pick you guys. One guy gets mad.. and started saying how I am making a big mistake. I just told him, I am not gonna argue with you..

He is about to leave. But before he does, he purposely steps on a weather strip I was preparing in front of my house door entrance and purposely mangles it.. and makes it look like it was an accident. He had this smirk on his face. Well I'm glad I didn't chose these guys... Looks like bunch of thugs trying to con his way into 7, 000 job... Never will I chose Sears... Very shady operation...

I hope I have the opportunity to tell people I would not recommend Sears, try Anderson instead. When I contacted Ms. Coooper of Sears it was just "sorry". I contacted service magic who recommended them. Service Magic were very symapathic, unlike Sears, they returned by inquiry almost immediately. Unfortunately they could not do anything for me since the contract was general and did not show any measurements. Malone (sales rep) put all that cleverly on a separate piece of paper so I got screwed. At least when people inquiry about my windows I can sent them in a different direction. I will not shop Sears or K-Mart either since they are associated. Malone bragged about how long Sears has been in business (and Montgomery Ward demise), but guess what John--doesn't mean Sears won't do the same! And it couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

My experience with Sears Home Improvement was the Sales Rep. John Malone was more worried about selling than what the customer requested/wanted. I ordered windows and then purchased a slider with the understanding the screen would be on the inside based on what he lead me to believe. He also tried to presure me into a new door. I kept telling him the condo has requirements and he continued to insist I ask them. Well, I got out of the door and told "sorry" about the screen. They give you a paper stating Customer Guarantee is important to them, but that is only when they are able to get their way. I liken the sales to a "Used Car" salesmen. I should have stuck with Anderson Windows.

Sears bad customer service

I have been taking my car to Sears for a couple of years. The slow Customer Service has been getting worse each time. Today when I went to pick up my car, there were 12 people on line to see ONE Customer Rep. From 3 to 4 pm, the other reps disappeared, and even the one rep that was working was trying to figure out where everyone went. I waited an hour to pay and get my car.The price is no bargain and the service is not existent.
Skip Sears, plenty of Mom and Pop shops that will welcome a paying customer these days.

Sears repair service department-customer service

Two days prior to the expiration of my extended warranty on this appliance I called the 800-4-myhome number to find out where I should take my vacuum for repair under the warranty. I was told to contact the nearest Sears store which happened to be where I purchased the appliance. I call the Customer Service Dept. and was told to bring it to the Merchandising Pick Up department; they would deliver it to their service center where it would be repaired then returned to the store for my pickup. One week later, five days after the expiration of the warranty, I received a call from the store telling me they could not deliver my vacuum to the service center because the computer would not issue a "ticket". When I asked why a week has lapsed the technician told me he had had other things to deal with! I was told I would have to pick it up ; call Sears Warranty customer service and see what if anything could be done about the expired warranty issue. If that was resolved then I would have to take the appliance directly to the Service Center in Miami. I was also told the Merchandising Department at the local store should not have accepted my Kenmore vacuum;. they are only supposed to accept some TV's and Dyson vacuums. I then called Sears corporate customer service. They apologized for the situation but offered no resolution other than extending the warranty to cover the repairs when I take it to the Miami service center. This is unacceptable service especially in light of the fact that their biggest competitors, Best Buy and Brandsmart accept back for repair at the store or provide in home service. I will not be replacing any of my appliances with Sears products in the future. I have at present over $10, 000 in appliances from Sears and just spent appx. $1, 000 to renew their warranties. This is the last money Sears will be receiving from me or my household.

Sears store manager

99.9 if not 100 percent of the employees in our store will say that we have the laziest manager ever! He is very un-appreciative. He is never at opening store meetings to participate in anything. He is never at the store when it opens unless district or another big guy is there. The only time you see him is if he is sitting in his office playing on his phone doing absolutely nothing, sitting in the breakroom eating or outside smoking. He never walks through the store unless district is there or he is going out to get food. He is rude and never says "Great job team!" How does he keep his job! I don't understand it and no one else does either. But when you work your butt off for minimum wage for 3 years and get no praise, it is stressing and you don't even want to go to work. The job SUCKS! Atleast the previous managers got out on the floor and worked like a normal employee. They did not act as if they were to good to get their hands dirty. I bet this slob can't even run a register. All in all the job, pay, and store manager Suck!

Discover is not owned by sears. Actually, you can't even apply for a discover at sears. It can not be used with an associate discount either because I've tried my discover with my asc disc. I don't even know how they are affiliated with discover. Just stay away from the Sears card. Sears sucks as a whole!

OH MYGOD! I too have had nothing but problems with green dot and lost all the christmas gifts that I had plans to purchase at a super sale price due to there constant issues: putting my reload as a debit instead of credit, card not working (they dont know why), card declined at stores (they tried to blame the store but it was more than one) then they say they cant even find any activity for the card at all. I am over the top with frustration and disappointment! Specially when there commercial comes and and my boys laugh at there claim of "SAFE, SECURE, RELIABLE" SO I TO SAY THANKS GREENDOT FOR RUINING CHRISTMAS!

Sears Condensation between the glass on oven door

My complaint is "condensation in between the glass on the top oven door" on the brand new Kenmore Elite Electric Built-in Double Oven (Model No. 790.[protected]), that is 7 months old. I noticed the condensation on the top oven door around November 2010. The oven was purchased on 04/26/10. This is enough condensation that the water will drip down creating water streaks in between the glass and viewing cooking is hindered.

On 11/26/10 I had a technician (Antonio; Tech #719013) out to my house from 1-800-4-MY-HOME to resolve this defect since the oven is still under warranty. He told me that there was nothing he could do except take the door apart and clean it, which he would have to charge me for, because this is not covered under the warranty. He told me this was a cosmetic problem. I would have had to pay over $100.00 to have him clean it and with every time I cook it would just happen again and again. Needless to say I was very unhappy that he would not resolve this defect in my oven that is still under warranty and is not just a cosmetic problem. I ended up having to ask the technician to leave my home and was very upset. I then went to the store I purchased the oven and talked with the manager, who also could not believe that Sears would not stand behind this product either.

This is not just a cosmetic problem. The glass on an oven door is there for viewing food while it is baking, which is why they put it on the door, and if during the baking you cannot view the food at all then that function of the oven is not working properly. If I had wanted an oven without a window, I would have purchased that style. Being able to see the food while it is cooking and not having to open the door is a very important function in the cooking process. Also, I was told by a reliable source that the water will eventually collect, rust and corrode the door of the oven in time. This is a defect in this oven door and Sears should fix it, replace it and resolve with no questions asked.

Unfortunately I saw these postings too late. I also purchased a complete Kenmore kitchen in June. I absolutely HATE my stove/convection oven. Sears also informed me that the condensation and black debris is cosmetic and not covered under the warranty. They also told me because I didn't contact them within 30 days of purchase, I cannot exchange it. (I have had the appliances 5 months and just recently used the oven and cleaning feature)

So nothing has changed with the Sears product! We just purchased (March 2012) ALL sears kitchen products (so they match--dishwasher, refrig, wall over/microwave, and cook top) and the oven has the condensation problem...STILL! How can Sears ignore this issue for two years and do NOTHING about it? I also heard the same explanation, that this is a know problem, it is not a warranty item/issue and there is nothing Sears can do. I am seriously considering having Sears come and remove all appliances -- might be a tough fight.

I have an electrolux oven with the same problem with condensation forming on the inside of my beautiful electrolux oven. I am so upset about this. When I spoke to Electrolux they told me that there was nothing that they could do for me and that I would just have to have the door cleaned periodically. It looks terrible and is an eyesore in my kitchen. If you get any relief for this problem can you please let me know. My email is jstuart503 @gmail.com.

I have the same problem with Kenmore Electric Single Wall Oven model # [protected]. I purchased it in 6/11. This is the second oven I received. The first was making a terrible humming sound and had condensation. I received a new oven for the humming problem which they could not fix - had tech come to my house at least 2x. They replaced it in July and I am still having the same condensation problem. I've called Sears several times and was told it was not a defect but that how it was designed. I advised Sears then they should be it in there description of the product. Oven glass condensates when in use. They will not send a tech out because they don't see it as a flaw. Meanwhile, the window is foggy, wet and dripping. I was also told if I want it clean there would be a charge. This is ridiculous! My old oven (15 yrs) which worked perfectly fine never had this problem. I see this as a design defect and Sears sees it as the new design. Can someone help me or make some suggestions. I also saw blogs on Electrolux and other ovens with the same problem - some have been replaced and some have not.

Sears just crap

calling their sears.com customer service number gets you speaking with someone who cant speak english, when you finally get transferred to someone who you can understand, they give you misleading information to appease you, get you off the phone and when you call back you will get a different city in india so its not their problem.
I have had orders canceled with no warning, when you call in for an update they tell you it will be there anyday, after a week of any days, a customer service rep said the order was canceled. I asked for their supervisor and waited on hold for over an hour before my cell phone died. and thats what they wanted, they want the customer to hang up and go somewhere else. I hope the stock owners of sears know what they are doing to what used to be a great company with great service...NOW sears is just another corporate giant who doesnt care how much business they lose. well sears will probably going the same way as caldors and montgomery wards or carls, or all those other big stores that couldnt keep customers. well they have lost a life long customer with me. I really hate to say it but walmart customer service will bend over backwards to help a customer out. good bye sears, HELLO WALMART! at least they take care of the customer

Sears customer service and delivery

I puchased a tv from sears on 11/29/10 at 6pm, a sharp aquos quattron 60 inch, sales lady was very nice to me. the only thing good I would say about sears right now. I took the tv home, set it up started watching tv, and than the picture went black, small v emblem on front started flashing, and continued ..I called sharp and sears the next morning on issue from work. Explained to sharp tech the issue and he said to call him when i returned home to try to trouble shoot problem with a reset, in which I had to be home to do this, needless to say this did not fix problem. I called sears and said I would need another tv, their was no more on hand, so the sales person said it would take 2 days for me to receive a new one, and that I needed to Call back and talk to Denver the following day to get this reorder. So the next day I called talked to Denver on wednesday, he said he would order me a new tv and have it delivered to my home around Friday the following week. Here I sit with no tv and was told it would take 2 days, than now I am waiting over a week to receive a new one. This might not seem bad to some people, but I haved saved the entire year to pay cash of 2278.00 to get a nice tv for the holidays. When the tv was set up for delivery to my home I told Denver That I was a manger and worked 5 till 4 monday thru friday and I would have to have at least an half an hour precall before they delivered to my home so I could be there to recieved the tv..He sid fine, I even called the 1-800-number on the bottom of my receipt to sears deliverly to make sure I had this 1/2 an hr precall to my phone..Well now it gets there interesting, the deliverly which is a third party that sears hires from West Frankfort Il. called Riches, comes to my home and calls me and says they are at my house ready to give me my tv, and the man says to me where are you and I said at my job. And that I was waiting on a precall so I could be there, he says he does not know anything about a precall. So now he is leaving going to his next stop, So I called sears 1-800-number again and said That I never got my new tv, because no one knew of a precall . They said they would put another precall on the next deliverly on Friday of 1 hour to my phone, So here again I sit with no tv...Friday I am at my job, I get a phone call from the deliverly man stating he is 15 minutes from my home with my tv. I said I am at work and I would be there in 25 min., he said he is on his way to my home and will not wait...I said what hppened to my precall of 1 hr. agin he does not know anything. So I rushed out of my job took a 2 hr leave to drive home 35 miles and hopefully get there to receive my tv...Oh no The man calls his manager at deliverly office and explains to the lady that I would not be at my home in 15 minutes, so she tells him to go to another drop and forget about my stop. She than called me and told me this.Yes I was very upset when I heard that she had told them to take another route and to forget about me. So she did not even give me a chance to get there, By the time they got to my house and unloaded the tv and got the paper work together I would have been ther in a few minutes . But she did not even consider that, She said she would not be delivering my tv today..Here I am half way home and arguing with this very rude lady about a tv That I had TO wait on For over a week on because I had bought a broken one from sears, over a week ago and now I still can not get the tv because no one will give me the precall to leave my job on my lunch to get this tv . Yes i am very mad and said she took it upon herself to not even give me a chance to get there when I was supposed to had a precall on both deliveries and did not recieved any. She said she would take my tv to sears if I wish to pick it up there that evening. Yes, that is fine . I was very upset and she said to call sears 1-800 number that they were responsible for this . So I hung up on her and proceeded to sears in marion to talk to management. Here i am on a 2 hr lunch from my job that my boss did not have to even give to me, running around trying to get my tv. Please how can you treat your customers like this and hire a rude deliverly service to act like this to your customers. This is your company, you should pay closer attention to who you hire to deliver your products . I went to sears to talk to management of how I can get my tv, Paul was trying to help me. I guessed he called to check on problem and told me he would get the tv back to the store so I could get someone to come by with a truck to pick it up for me that evening. Needless to say he called deliverly company any the lady said she would not return my tv to the store today and it would be the next day. come on now this lady is holding my tv hostage for 1 day because i was not happy with her on the way she had handle the issue. And this is a sears product so if sears wanted it returned to the store and she works for sears, than how in the ...does this lady have the right to do this. Please this is getting way out of hand now. All I wanted was a new tv and not all this drama, Not only did this cost me time and money, I also already had scheduled direct tv to come to my home on saturday morning to install new service and dvr to this tv . So now I have to cancell direct tv about my new installation, because I have no TV. So now can you see the issue why am very upset with your company and your deliverly service that you have hired. I hired a friend to take the broken tv back to sears on friday night, now again.I have no tv . I work in retail, so why did not one person even suggest to offer me a different tv to fix the situation. I am very dissappointed with sears. I have been shopping their for years, But I will no longer ever step foot in their again. And I will be sure to express my event to other customers in the future... I want to Thank You for your great customer servcice... that I nevered received Michelle miller

On June 4th I purchased a out side shed in the amount of $641.99. I was dissapointed that it would not be delivered until the end of June. That seemed like a long time after all I had paid for it order # [protected] . Then the 6th of June I pu
rchased a refrigerator order #[protected] in the amount of $534.99 . ( I have been without refrigerator since then) I anxiously waited for delivery on the 15th of June they were to call the night before. I even ran to Norfolk Ne to pay the removal fee of $25. I was unable to pay fee over the phone or so I was told, I received an automated call telling me they would deliver between 9-11 am.I panicked and tried calling sears they were not accommodating at all I was on the phone 50 minutes they sent me to 3 different agents and NO help{ I work but I would be there at 12 noon I decided to cancel my orders asking for a refund and an inconvenient adjustment. Low and behold I was unable to understand the agent asking for someone to call me back that I could understand I was told they were unable to call me back that was not there policy . So now you have my money and I dont know who to talk to resolve my issue. I plan calling Mr. Lampert if Im unable to resolve this mess. Thank You for your attention in this matter.I sincerely appreciate your efforts. . Joan Schaefer [protected]

Sears process between store and catalog orders

Dear Sirs:
I purchased in Store several of the Christmas Light shows, I also ordered two boxes of GE Christmas light shows multi function through your catalog and paid for them in advance... Lights arrived on time - went to test them and one set did not function. I returned the one set to the store. I was informed they could not order me a replacement set for the same price that I paid for at the time of purchase (the price had gone up) even though I had bought the insurance for two years of any defect replacement. I guess the insurance is a rip off. I only had the light set one day and it cost me about another $16 dollars to re-order the replacement. Not COOL.
I support Sears because of what you do for our Troops and it pains me to write this. I know I will get over it. I had planned to buy a couple of extra sets but changed my mind.

Sears customer service

I won't go into all the dates, times and people I spoke to at Sears over this single incident, but suffice it to say that over what should have been a very simple transfer of a ladies winter coat from one store to another (closest Sears did not have the size I needed), I waited 3 weeks, put in at least 8 phonecalls, spoke to a dozen different "associates" - and was hung up on, cut off, ignored, argued with and lied to. Not one person I spoke to ever attempted to find a solution to the problem, they only wanted was to get rid of me by passing me on to the next incompetent associate. In the end, I told them to RAM the coat (pun most definitely intended).

I've never been a fan of Sears - their customer service is legendary (a legendary JOKE, that is!) but this incident has sealed the deal. I will NEVER buy so much as a pencil from them again, and I will be sharing this experience with all my friends, colleagues, family and the world via Facebook. I propose a new motto for Sears..."It's really not our problem."

Sears credit denied

We went in to the store on December 8, 2010 to purchase an upright freezer. When our credit card was presented we were denied because our card had been cancelled from lack of activity. I have been a customer with Sears since 1996. I don't buy a large amount of products but whenever I am looking for a new appliance I go to Sears.

The answer I received when I called customer service was that is company policy and she was not able to do anything. I am really upset that my account was cancelled and if this cannot be resolved I will not be using Sears in the future

Sears Credit was taken over by Citi Bank. They culled all of the inactive accounts, and closed them. This individual could've gotten a new card at the cash wrap...all it would've taken was about 5 minutes and a drivers license. As someone else pointed out, this person simply wants to complain about anything and everything when the solution was readily apparent.

Accounts are closed for no activity after like 18-24 months. It's very easy to get another card. If your credit has gone south that is no one's fault but your own. If you think about it you will realize that them closing inactive accounts makes sense for a few reasons. 1) You get your purse stolen and have all your cards in it then its one thing you dont have to worry about. 2) If you aren't using it why would it make sense for them to leave the account active and cost them money lol. It's people like you that make people hate customer service jobs because I'm sure you probably weren't a very nice woman to the sales person when the card was denied when in no way was it their fault. You just seem to be the type to nitpick all the stupid little things.

Sears refuses to disclose shipping charge without providing credit card - fraud

I visited sears.ca in hopes of purchasing a new stove for my parents for Christmas.

In placing the order, the website demands payment information and for me to click "place order" BEFORE it will provide me with shipping cost or a total including tax and shipping.

Thinking this was an error, I contacted Sears "customer service" to request the shipping charge. They too, including Supervisor by the name of Marilyn insisted that they cannot provide shipping charge information until payment is made. I'm pretty sure this isn't legal since it asks the customer to commit to purchase and provide payment information without disclosing all fees and charges being applied to the card. If it somehow skirts legal requirements and is ok in that sense, it's most definitely a shady practice.

The Supervisor refused to assist me unless I placed the order and provided credit card information, or waited 3-5 business days for the "transit department" to respond with the cost. Seeing as the sale for the item I wished to purchase is over tomorrow, neither is an acceptable response.

Sears toxic odor

re: kenmore elite gas range and oven
Despite what I've read about the toxic smell dissipating in time, my oven/broiler gives off a sickly burning plastic smell which fills the house. At times It smells so toxic I need to open windows and leave the kitchen and have ended up feeling ill. I have no doubt the fumes are carcinogenic and feel I can no longer bake in this oven. I would like to know what the offending parts are and exactly what my family has been exposed to. Never again will I buy from Sears.
