The customer service has been very harsh and has not been helpful. They are rude and often end up giving wrong information to the clients. For eg. I dropped a cheque in one of their ATM in Bangalore and the amount was not deducted from the statement. When I checked with the customer service they told me that they don't pick up the cheques from the ATM. Immediately I issued a fresh cheque and made the payment but my previous cheque which the bank promised me that wont be picked up was also used. And when I call the bank they say that they cant help it. There were several other incidents like this.

Sir,
I have never applied for an SBI card. During 2004 I had availed a housing loan from SBT, Sasthamangalam Branch, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.After that I received two SBI Card one in my name and the other in my wife's name.Both the cards were not used by us. In fact we had not activated the cards. The validity of the card was over by 04/2005. To my surprise for the past one year I have been receiving SMS message every month informing that statement has been despatched and the balance amount is due for payment.But no such statement has been received by me so far.
It has to be noted that I had not applied for SBI Card. In fact I have not used any credit cards. I have filed a number of complaints through consumer forum but in vain. I am receiving the message every month even now. There has been no response from the authorities so far.I once request to give necessary direction to the concerned authorities to deactivate sending SMS to my mobile and inform me the position. Oh God ! what a horrible experience with SBI Nagothane, Maharashtra !

It has been more than 1 month and I still don't know when my passbook will be issued.Evertime I asked them about the status they had a pathetic excuse that their printer is not working ! and No one knows in this branch when in this century that printer will be repaired ! Even their branch Manager ! They even dont know how to speak to their customers .. idiots! Shame!
Their so called help line no is [protected]

What an irresponsible behaviour from a State bank of India, Nagothane !
I needed the passbook on an urgent basis as an address proof for passport

I am working for Reliance Industries Ltd, Nagothane and unfortunately they had a tie -up with us for salary processing and other financial aspects.

I am Rajni Sharma, a handicapped government employeed lady. I was having credit card and made its last payment vide cheque No.955687 cleared on dated 8.10.2005 whcih was transferred in SBI Account #[protected] for Rs.20000/-. On the same day we also requested for its cancellation and as per advice we broken it into six pieces and put it their box
It is pertinent to mention here that thereafter we never applied for issuance of another credit card and in the month of June 2006 we received a letter to furnish identity proof to get another CREDIT CARD OF SBI. It is worthwhile to mention here that since we have not applied for issuance of SBI CREDIT CARD we did not furnish any ID proof.
Btu later on we received telephonic messages that a payment of Rs.66000/-, Rs.1600/- is due but when we replied that we have not applied nor received any caredit card, they informed that no payment is due. But, we again received messages that a payment of Rs.864/- (through ms rina) Rs.6800/- today. Today he again informed that after OTS an amount of Rs.3500/- is due.
We shall be grateful if your good self could kindly produce the application made by me for SBI credit card, date of receipt of SBI credit card by me.
it is worthwhile to mention here that I have so far not received any statement since 2005- the date of cancellation of my SBI credit card.
I hope a thorough investigation would be got carried out and outcome would be informed to us after due punishment to the concerned officers/ officials at the earliest.

Dear Sir,

I vishal Tandon from Navi Mumbai having SBI card carrying a bad experience for 2 years. I have lost my credit Card in the month of Dec 08. After that i have put an complaint for lost of my card and to issue the card . but as on date neither the SBI Card is issued to me.

Beside this i have cleared my dues last month . After speaking to the Customer Care Several times nobody has sent the final statement. and we have already cleared the dues.

Now from customer care Delhi Anjana Shera is promising us to make the payment of 400 Rs which was a late fees. and we will issue the letter afterwards once we recieve the amount.

I still not believe how a government bank can do this. This was not the first attempt. After making the payment in time and it was ur fault that you have not send the final letter of clearing the payments.

Now repeatedly called to the customer care DELHI which are giving unreleavent answer.

Further issue my wife will take it seriously and will also take the help of media by fraud selling of credit card and poor Service . after making payment on time.

I am having the SBI Credit card with card number "[protected]" for past 1.5 years, which I was informed as Life time free card. Two more persons from my company got the cards for the same plan and they didn't get any annual maintenance fees. From the beginning itself I didn't use my card and I didn't make any transactions. As per your agents calls I accepted to avail the 9000 RS as DD, unfortunately I didnt received in my hand and I informed the same to the customer care immediately. They also confirmed me they will cancel the DD and will revert back the amount. After 3 month I got the bills from your end that I have to pay certain money. When asked abt this to your customer care and filed one complaint about this and asked them to close my account. They said they will clear the amount and will close the account once the all the amount is reversed. But they didn't did. Now I came to know that my card is blocked and my account is still active. I got a advocate notice from SBI credit card to pay the due amount of RS 3900 to close the account. How horrible is this to pay without using my card. Today I went to the SBI Credit section at J C Home, Parrys chennai, and met Shivani, She told that I have to pay the amount soon and forced me to settle this soon or else I have to face legal action against on me. She also told that this amount is due to the Annual Maintenance fees. How it will come that when I have the free life time card. So I asked her to provide the detailed information that showing for annual maintenance cost, She told that she cant give and asked me to face this legally. I am so upset to hear this. I confirmed something from the customer care and the agent helped me to get the card is this is the life time free card. Also customer care representative told me that I have to pay 285 RS as the DD fee and due to this fee only I have to pay 3800 RS as delay fees. How can I pay this when I didn't get the DD in my hand and also after file the complaint abt this. Really I am so upset of the way of approaching the customer and threaten us in such a way. Even we also can go for the Legal action When I don't have any transactions. But I like to solve this in a smooth way. Kindly help me on this and please revert back all the amounts that seeking from my end and cancel my card as soon as possible and let me to be peaceful.

As per the telecommunication there was a card which was issued in the month of Dec/2007. But I have not recived any card from the concern department. On the same there was acall from SBI for an insurance policy & I was aggreed on behalf of that ok I will adopt this policy once I will recived the card but till the date I have not recive the card & the policy documents. Now why am getting the calls from your deapartment for the outstanding amount. Am liable to pay the amount only if I have the card with me.
Regarding the same I have sent a mail to headcard that I do not have any card on 1/Jan/2008.

Dear sir/madam,

Right now i have no complaints. All i need is your attention towards my request.

The request is to extend the duration to return my dues for more time with out any further interests or penalties. Since i myself have burdened a great debt in and around my locality.

You offered me an amount around to credit limit to me and granted me with an option to pay it back in instalments. Since suddenly due to a major fraud that took place at vellore, i along with my brothers became one amongs the victim. And since this all happened with little knowledge to my parents, they too are furious on us.

Any how we are striving our best to tackle this situation and come out clean.

Hence kindly relieve me giving me more time to repay and lessening the figure of the instalment.

I want to settle my SBI credit card, because of the nasty harassment and literal cheating. I went many times to GE-SBI Chennai office, they are so irresponsible and are prompt in collecting money and charging overhead rates.
I hope they are doing some " highfy " prostitution inside. thats why they are not allowing us to come inside.rascals.. they are aftral surviving on our money. they are doing all nonsense. I will file a case in consumer court... My sincere advice is please submit ur SBI card as early as possible.

They are using our money for their enjoyment...

pls don't be cheated by those bostards...ok

Card No.[protected] bill date 18th Sep 2008 i was charged a fine of Rs.350/- for delay payment, but i put my cheque on due date, due to Govt. and festival holidays, it was credited only on 10th of Oct'08. Further, bill date 18th Nov'08, you have charged a fine of Rs.114 again. I have used your card for the last 5 years and no payment was overdue and was settled in time. Hence, I request you to waive the above fines and expect your adjustments in the forth coming bill i.e. 18th Dec'08 bill.

I have been making payments for the last 1 year to SBI Card without getting any statements.
They had initially not being able to address the reason as why the bill is not reaching. However, they confirmed (phone) that no late charges would be taken as I had not received the statements and hence the payment date was not known to me. My requests for confirming to my residence address have gone unanswered. I visited the local card office and was informed that after a years payment still my outstanding balance was same as the initial purchases which means and also I was charged late fee every month despite any fault of mine.
Now for the last 6 months I have been trying to get the address changed and confirmed through their IVR, e-mail, internet and also lastly requeted for e-statements. But nothing is working. The executives I had met in the Kolkata office have stopped taking calls also. The payment office executives call at my residence every morning causing nuisance to my family.
I am confused as how to deal with this.

Dear Sir,

I am also being victimized in the same regard.

I had taken a SBI CARD last year in October and then since i was leaving India, i called the helpline to cancel my card.

I was surprised to hear that there was a insurance activated without my knowledge and then i was asked to pay 100 RS. i told them i had not asked for any insurance and then i was promised that everything would be canceled and i should not be paying for anything. I was also aksed to destroy the card, which i had done.

But now my parents got lot of calls and had to hears things spoken with a harsh word about paying for something which was never asked and never used.

We have now received a letter asking us to pay upto 1600 RS for nothing.

I have also sent email to escalation point.

It would very helpfull if you can sort this out.

Pathetic Customer Service no good service from ICICI Bank & A very bad note : When i call to the customer service i really found tough to reach them hence the voice mail is not in the right format it is incruppted hope ICICI take this as a serious issue & work on it. Try improving your customer service to higher level since they all sound cheap as they do not respect customer...

I had done payment of my credit card bill on September 30th, while due date was October 03, 2008. It was only Rs. 340/-. I received phone calls for non payment from SBI in rough language. And asking all payment details. I was in office, I don't carry cheque details but person from SBI was very adament in tone and talking in crude language. She was not listing to the facts. I disconnected phone. I called up at customer care number, they admitted receipt of the cheque payment!

This is mine only third/fourth month with SBI card and last two months even after my timely payments I received such calls from SBI credit card. I have decided I will discontinue use of this card and shall not use it again.

I had similar case, SBI Creditcards really sucks! I never used the initial primary card just like above person but they still went ahead and renewed it. What is major issue with this is, they sent the renewed card to some changed address so that the reciever in that address used entire amount on that card. I filed a consumer court complaint now on SBI cards. However it appears like there is another person called Mr. Tarun Kumar from Oracle Hyderabad also faced exact issue like mine, His address also changed to one they changed mine and I'm trying to trace him so that he can join my fight against SBI Cards. My only advise to all the visitors here is SBI Creditcards is a mess and don't ever accept it even if they pay you Lakhs of rupees for free.

i g.suresh account no [protected] & card no [protected] paid 1500 rupees cash on 21-08-08 in an offerto sbi doctors card holders .they told that by paying this amount card will be cancelled & no more attachment .but on 15-09-08 i got an sms stating that i hav to pay 1699 rupees for my card . i hope that my card was cancelled .or if i want to pay means i will complaint & procede legally .i hope u will clarify the matter as early as possible to enable me to proceed furtherly .i am in total confusion what is happening

Yes, , , They are the junk guys. I gave their check collectiong representative an amount of 4K+...But that guy did not pay to the Bank. I was getting calls daily from Coustomer care regarding payment. I raised the complaints many times and I also talked rudely. But no use...finally Now it is settled...I had some good impression in the Past but they too turned out be as other banks...

I tried to Agent Mobile: [protected]. But, this is not found till date. So, I am very surprise.

Please check your end. He is not miss use of Credit Card photocopy (Pan No., Salary Slip, ICICI Bank Credit Card).

I agree with you, they are the worst in case of providiong customer service, even after infroming about the payment, they call 10 times in a day to make payment. they are worst because they call us and they do not even have the infromation about what they are calling for. when we ask to give to to manager, they are not avaliable.they do not even understand the any othre langauge other then telugu.

My mother lives in India and is an SBI employee. Sometime back in October of 2007, her purse was stolen and along with it, some cash money, cell phone and credit/ debit cards. Being a loyal employee of SBI, she only used an SBI credit card. Promptly she tried reaching the customer care to cancel the card. It was a Saturday/Sunday and apparently there was no response or emergency contact number provided for people to cancel their cards, incase it was stolen and even if there was one, there was NO response whatsoever. She informed me immediately and I called the international Visa office to get the card canceled.

Within the 2 days, the guy that stole the purse, rang her credit card up a few stores and incurred around Indian Rs 20, 000/- in expenses. Now, my mother performed due diligence by lodging a police complaint and the necessary follow-up. She even found out details about the locations where some of these purchases were made and she was successful in convincing one of the store owners to reverse this transaction (he agreed only because he had not delivered the product that was purchased by thee guy that stole the card).

Now, problems started to crop up from SBI's end and they have been harassing my parents for the last one year with phone calls to her cell phone/ home/ work etc to get her to pay for those transactions, instead of ever looking into the case details. She has provided all the necessary information for someone to get back promptly to resolve the case but instead she gets emails from the grievance cell that they are "looking" into the matter while the customer agent continues to harasses her with calls and visits. SBI also has been sending across monthly statements to pay up not only the amount that's in question but also the interest that has bee charged on this. Finally, to top it all they have included the amount, for which the transaction was reversed by the store owner instead of writing a thank you note to her for saving their stupid bank some money.

I have never supported/ encouraged anyone to go for SBI card and my mother vehemently supported it only because she works for the bank. But now she has realized how badly managed is this bank in-terms of communication, customer service, grievance cell etc. In all it's the worst credit card for one to have. I would suggest people look out for banks like ICICI and other such private bank because of the much better customer service offered by them and most importantly a better management in dealing with such issues.

Please DO NOT ever apply for an SBI credit card unless you are looking for some very rude customer service, bad banking principles, and most importantly in terms of emergencies, they will NOT provide due support to its own bank employees, forget regular customers.

of outstanding agains my payment statement & cancel my creditcard at your end as early as possible.

True SBI does not gove the service correctly, , even after paying the due amount I have been charged late payment... The site to make online payments are always down. if asked about that they just give excuses or say they are updating the site. I am really frustrated with there service.

BUT being a good customer i hed despatched the EMI amount Rs.1470 through cheque.

Dear sir,
I have a pending amount of Rs. 22000/- (Approx.) but my limit is Rs. 18000/-. After that I had a call from the customer care (lady) that you have a overdue payment. I said that i want settlement a she spoke to their with their officials and said Rs. 15000/-. First payment in cash and another in cheque and I agreed.

Next day I gave my first payment by cash with my settlement order and I have issued a cheque for the second payment. At that time I went to Ahmedabad (Head Office) for One month. I coudn't able to check my statement. After reaching Chennai I took my bank transaction the Cheque was bounced.

Then I call to SBI customer care (They didn't call) and said what all happen they said we can't do any thing but we can update that and I have informed that my mobile number has been changed. After some days I got a call from SBI (Lady) regarding the payment. She said that your settlement has been cancelled and you have to go to re-settlement I said i cant go for the re-settlement but I can pay the pending amount of Rs. 7500/- by cash. She said that I 'll speak to my head officials and come back.

Next day She called me and said that Ok. you have to pay only the pending amount and I ask that I want my new settlement order she said It will be reaching you in week. Next day marketing person came I have paid by cash and I ask about the settlement order he says that I will bring in a week. Then he didn't come.

Then for one and half months there is no cal from the SBI. I thought that my settlement has cleared and I got relief. But on 30-07-08 I got a SBI statement that full payment immediately.

I don't know whose fault is this. I think that in this world who wants to live legally can't able to live.

Because of the wrong information by the Customer care (IDIOT) lady now I am suffering.

My one Information to all the SBI card holders. Please record while SBI Card customer calls you. This is my humble request.

While I am yet to receive my add on card for my wife, surprisingly I have received the PIN nos. of mine and for my wife. For your info, after my enquiry I got a SMS from your courier to call Mumbai for finding the status of my add on card. Is it not interesting to find my card status I have to make STD call to courier office ? Anyways, I will be grateful to get my wife's card at your earliest.

I got a sbi credit card last two years back. Infact some guy had come to our office and took my details and I got my card though I had asked him not to send me one.But I got one.Then I used it .But for the amount of Rs.4000 I had to pay about Rs.11000/-. Still I was getting bills every month though I stopped using it.Then I made several calls.Each time they assured me that they will solve my problem and would cancell my card as per my request. Then This year I got one more new card for which I had not requested. Again I called and sent emails told that I am fed up with SBI credit card and I dont want one. Then the customer service people told me it is cancelled and not to worry any further.I am not using that Card (never used it this time under the impression that it is cancelled).
Yesterday for my Utter Surprise I got a letter from SBI asking me to pay my outstanding amount of Rs.1237.50.How come ? I dont want your Card, I never wanted. I will never be wanting SBI card for my life. Please tell me how to get rid of SBI Card. I am really fed up. I have not touched even one rupee.Why should I pay 1237.50 ? I am scared to use SBI card. I will never. I hate this system which is not at all customer friendly. Why do SBI harrass innocent public like this ?

I have given request so many time for my monthly statement
on my e-mail address but till not received. I am not receiving
statement by post since last six month.

You have been sending me a statement for the last 3 yrs at a Card No [protected], but unfortunately after giving so many reminders, I am yet to receive the card.

Kindly send me the card or revert me for further solution.

My address, where you are sending statements are wrong. Insted of COM you should wright CDM. My full address is AUGUSTINE JOJO, CDM, BHABHA ATOMIC REASERCH CENTRE, MUMBAI . PIN-400085.
