Santander Financial / Beware

1 United States Review updated:

We were only 1 month behind on our car payment, and my husband made a payment this past Friday 1/30, and the car got repossessed by Santander Financial, early Monday morning. We really aren't understanding because, not only that, we made another payment arrangement. The bad thing is, Santander knows they're at fault, we were never notified about the repo, nothing was EVER sent in the mail. And they won't give us our car back, when we need it. We have two small children, and one on the way. So, we're probably going to sue them.

    Santander Financial - Scam
    Santander Financial
    United States

Santander bought my mother's auto loan from Citi finacial. Citi let her know and told her Santander would be sending her a new payment slip with her new account number. They never sent her any info or contacted her. Instead almost two months later they started calling her to pay her bill. She told them she never got the payment slip where to send the payment. Three days after that she finally gets the first slip but now she is over a month behind. Most companies give you five months to get caught up to pay back. Santander gives you two. She was two months behind when she got the first payment slip. Now they are looking to repossess her only car when it was their fault she fell behind to begin with. They deliberately take loans, hold off on sending payment slips, so people fall behind, and then take their car. That's not good business. It's a legal form of Robbery!

Just wait until you see her credit report. They will also do a number on that and take joy in it. They are the lowest form of ### when it comes to auto loans. You may want to consider getting a consumer attorney to handle these jerks. They are good at lying to you over the phone by promising you something and then when they don't deliver..you call back and they act like it's the first time they heard. They know contracts have to be in writing to be enforceable and play on that. I can tell you, this is only the beginning of this horrible roller coaster ride. Take a look at all the complaints on this website (type only the word Santander) and you will see what I mean.
