Santander Consumer USA customer service

I've been a customer of this bank for over 20 years. I have checking, business, and retirement accounts with this bank.
My complaint is with one location
On numerous occasions the tellers refused to get change for me. I run a business and have a business account with this bank
It is a service that they should provide (all the other branches provide it )
With exception of this branch
They have told me to "come back tomorrow "
For 4 consecutive days with a screw you smille on their face
This has happened more than once

Santander Consumer USA it's been four months since I pay off my car and it still shows on my credit

Back in october 2017 my car got flodded due to a hurricane in houston texas. My insurance covered most of the debt and i just payed for the difference. When i called at the begining of november they told me the latest to have it removed from my credit was at begining of december. In january i checked my credit and it was still showing the debt. I called once againg and they told me they will have it fix to check again in a month. Today february the six, i call to make sure they were finxing and reporting to my credit that it was payed off and a very rude lady told me that there was nothing they could do and for me trying to send a letter to the office. Im so disappointed belive me im never getting a loan with them.

Santander Consumer USA 2017 kia forte loan

Feb 2017 we purchased a 2017 Kia Forte from Dutch Miller Kia in Barboursville WV. We put $2000.00 down on the vehichle and our payments are 507.00 month which is too much. Anyway we tried to trade car in for less expensive vehichle and payment and were told they could trade this car in because of bad equity. Our interest rate which was never explained to us is like 40%. Weve paid 8000.00 total on car on time and we owe more now then what the car originally cost. I have started the process for voluntary repossessiom with Santander and was told they would resale car and we would still owe at least 10, 000. What about the 8000.00 paid on car already? They should not be allowed to take advantage of disabled people with limited income.

Santander Consumer USA unethical behavior

I purchased a 2004 Honda Element from CarMax in Feb 2014 (10 years old) for around 13, 999. I have owned the vehicle now for 4 years and have paid roughly 13, 880 because of past deferred payments, however I have paid 13, 880 for the vehicle and still owe 11, 900 years later. The vehicle is now 14 years old. I can not refinance it because I owe way more than what it's worth. I also can not trade it in because I have too much negative equity on it. I purchased it for 13, 999 and 4 years later still have 11, 999 to go on a 14 year old car? I didn't realize it was some type of interest loan. Regular car loans do not charge you twice for the car especially an older vehicle. I called and asked if they can work with me drop some interest, reduce loan anything, I was advised nothing can be done by a customer service rep. I am ready to just buy a new car and let it roll, but that's not fair to my credit. I have been holding on to it and making the 347.00 payments faitfully while look for a way out : (

Santander Consumer USA claims department

I bought 7 tickets to a show. Qty 3/qty 4 on March 22 2017 for the show Wicked: Boston opera House JULY 16th at 1pm (daytime show). 4 came right away (order12649914 for $476.15) 3 never came. From March to JULY I tried emailing (attaching a few Emails here)calling, chatting online. They promised and stated in writing I would have them by midnight July 15 2017. I was frantic at that time: still no tickets, blocked from phone.
I was now fearfulvthat I was scammed by 'secure Tix' aka 'ticket fulfillment' I saved my pennies to get these girls, in recovery (2 pregnant) to the show of there dreams.! When the other 3 (order 1269913) I looked closer at the 4 tickets. They said ticketMaster, issued to someone else with different seats from what I was told. JULY 15, 2017 at approx 5pm I called Santander crying to cancel my card, that I had been scammed. Oh was desperate and talked with my sister. Diane Thompson my sister, purchased 7 tickets for the show the next day for me! (Ticketmaster: conf# 32-55776/NY2 $1048.90) You'll see in writing my remaining 3 tickets they say are expected to arrive by midnight July 15, 2017. You'll see the promise in email dated July 15, [protected]@5:56 pm. You'll also see email dated July 16, 2017 at 9:33AM telling me they knowing still 'eagerly awaiting', and a final text at 9:51 on Juky 16th, 2017 (Show is July 16 @1pm) stating 'you must download and print out the document.' I'm in Boston! Where! They promised by midnight. The first 3 claims I did included all 7 orders, 2 purchase (466.15 and $358.85) after being denied 3 times, I realized it was only the 3 I didn't get as promised. I bought I was scammed from secure Tix for the 4 as well because they didn't come through for the 3. I have written proof they promised the 3 by midnight July 15, 2007 I requested 2 new claims for ONLY $357.85. (case 1593079 case 1633299) both were wrong and still included the $476.15. I was waiting for ANY response from my faxes(done at branch of MY proof, and my 2 certified letters with my emails and story inside) NOT one of those people called me, responded, cared about anything I was telling them. No one knew where my letters went (40 pages) nooone knew or cared where faxes went. I was Promised over and over I would get a call! Branch mgr in Milton spoke to claims 4 times and emailed a Sebastian that promised me yet again, through store mgr he would call. Nothing. Not a word. Santander pops up on my fb page. I write complaint. George freely pm'dme. Said he'd call the next day. I had hole again that I would see my $358.85 (paying my sister back still) he listened while I vented at the end I thanked him. He stopped and said he just put the claim in again for me! I asked him for what? He actually told me 'for 476.15 and 357.85' I started crying and yelling. He gave me hope but listen to a word I said. I only want what they promised and failed to do. That promise in writing would hold up In court for Gods Sake! George then said that the vendor sent proof tickets were sent! I reminded him of the promise in writing and the email the day of the show at 9:51am (not even tickets: they still need downloading) George told me 'BECAUSE THE VENDOR DIDNT PAY US & SENT PROOF, WE CANT PAY YOU!'. I'm the little guy that doesn't matter to Santander. You should stand by your customer. I will continue to talkvand write about this until I get what was promised tickets for 3 by secure Tix sent before midnight in July 15th, 2017 I would like my $358.85 back. I don't care that secure Tix thinks they're right. They have a promise in writing. they failed to come through and Santander needs to stand up for me. Claims Dept never wrote notes so the next I called over time had a clue as to what was going on. The last 2 claims I requested be for only $358.85 and they still got that wrong. No one knew where my 2 over 30 page faxes went (bank mgr got # from claims Dept) or where MY PROOF IN 2 certified letters went. (Address bank manager got for me to MAKE SURE MY PROOF WOULD BE HEARD.
IM SO DISAPPOINTED IN Santander. I always talked highly of you. I talked many people in opening accounts with you. I
Now I'm telling this story. I will stop when I get my $357.85 promised.

Santander Consumer USA checking account overdraft fees

Good morning,

Yesterday I spoke with 2 representatives who offered to graciously remove my monthly maximum 2 overdraft fees as I've accrued them while being on vacation abroad.

Normally I'm very vigilant about my account information and don't delve into these incidents, but being that I was making debit transactions that cleared with money that I had calculated to be in my account (that stillhas yet to arrive due to a late deposit) I ended up overdrawing my account. As soon as I found out I had stopped spending but I realized that the international transaction fees (which I have no problem paying since I'm abroad and have done this time and time again) also trigger ACH debit returns, which have resulted in an exorbitant 8 overdraft fees (including the 2 that the customer service rep refunded). Again, I haven't willfully spent money, yet the charges automatically have generated overdrafts as they've been posted after the fact. Please help! I receive my direct deposit today and I won't have any money left because of these fees. Any help, consultation, advice, anything, would be greatly appreciated! I'm abroad on vacation waiting to spend money that I've earned. I've been banking with Santander for over a year and I surely wouldn't want my relationship with them to sour over something like this.
If there's any more information you might need from me regarding this problem I'd be happy to provide it at once.

Sincerest regards,
Brenton

Santander Consumer USA checking account charges

To whom it may concern:

My name is Marge Taylor and i have a checking and a savings account with your bank. My main reason for this letter is the way my checking account has been handled lately. My checking account number is [protected]. When you look at these account you will see i have no money in them. I am a single mother, I live by myself, and pay well try to pay all my own bills when they are due and i owe balances on just about every bill i have. I have 3 children who try to help me as much as they can and 8 grandkids who i babysit so my kids can go to work and then my part time job with UPS where i have been working for 23 years. I am not good with words so bare with me while i try not to confuse you and hopefully make sense to what i am going to try to explain.
My dad isnt doing to well lately, well let me say he is not himself. He cant walk to good anymore he is nothing but skin and bone and it breaks my heart to see him that way as it would with anyone seeing there dad that way, anyway the thing he loves the most is his ipad and playing the games on it that's all he lives for now. My mom doesnt let him buy any coins to play the games so I wrote down my password on a paper and he keeps it inside his ipad so he can buy the coins when he needs to but he always was good with it, like i would tell him how much he could spend. Well lately he has been getting a little crazy with it and spending to much, if you look at my account you will see what i mean, i have tried cutting him off but when he sees me he looks at me and says "why did you cut me off" and he looks so sad it hurts me so i explain it to him and he tells me he will be more careful. But the last couple of months he's really been bad with it and i do not check my account everyday i will go in and check my balance and it has been good except for the last two incidences. The first one was about maybe two weeks ago he made me short of money so i got hit with 3 charges of $35.00. When i called the operator she was very nice and she waved all three charges - thank god - then during Christmas i didn't check my account at all for awhile. I was so busy with cooking the kids the grandkids i didnt even think about it. When i did go into my account after it was all over I saw all the charges - 10 $35.00 charges totaling $350.00. I mean c'mon that is outrageous i never received a phone call, a text, or an email (not that i was checking my email either) or they could of stop paying whatever was coming in. So i called the bank the morning after christmas explaining everything to the operator who was very sympathetic about my dad and the over charging and everything and the operator transferred me to a supervisor who to me was not nice about it at all. She pretty much got on the phone and just said "I can't take any charges off, it's your responsible for your own account." I was so surprised by her answer it through my off on what i was going to say. She was very cold about the fact that my dad is not quite himself and i tried to explain to her that I cut him off and he no longer has access to my account. She was pushing me to be mean and I don't like being mean andt to be honest i don't even remember what i said, but i did say i was going to close my account. The $350.00 your bank took from me is a whole paycheck. I clear a little over $350.00 a week. I am out a weeks pay. I live paycheck to paycheck. I know i was wrong for giving him the password but what would you have done. I am asking please please waive these charges if you have to charge me for a couple then fine but doing this is really hurting me financially. You can look back on my account i never have a lot of money in there not even in my savings account. I think it's terrible that your bank reacted to this the way they did. The bank should have stopped payment on everything after the first two charges. If this is the way you make your money off your customers then you should be ashamed of yourself. I had to borrow so much money from people i know to cover this problem, it's going to take me forever to pay them back. Someone has to help me I feel it was not handled correctly at all. I hope you find it in your hearts to take away all the charges. This will not happen again. Im begging you.

Thank you,
Marge Taylor

Santander Consumer USA auto loan

I bought my 2012 impala in 2013 with a santander loan or around $10, 000. (I put a hefty down payment on it also!) I had trouble with the car constantly and told santander this. Finally in jan. It just died and cannot be fixed. I told the people I talked to almost everyday about this when they called. I was going to just pay off car and be done... Until I called to get pay off. It said I owed over $17, 000! I have been paying on this car since 2013! What the heck! Now you have repossessed the car. This car should be paid for! This is just wrong in so many ways. I do not owe anything to santander on this car! Maybe some late fees but that would be it! I received a letter yesterday stating that the car is being auctioned on the 22nd of dec. And any left on loan I had to pay. This is not right! I should owe nothing more on this car and it should have not been repossessed.

I had a vehicle financed through Santander and when I went to the credit union to have them refinance...I owed more on the vehicle than I borrowed. I purchased the vehicle in May at $24, 212 but when I went to the credit union on 01/17/2018 my balance was 24, 915.26. I do not understand how payment made are not deducted but the price of the vehicle increases.

Santander Consumer USA unauthorized online wire transfer

On 11/9/2017 my bank account was compromised. A person named Andrew Harris made an online wire transfer from my account to his, in an amount over $14, 000. He managed to go into a Santander branch in Bronx, NY and withdraw funds totaling $10, 202. Once I became aware of the fraudulent activity (within 24hours) I went to a local branch for assistance.
The Customer Service rep named Justin Powell was very understanding and helpful. I witnessed him call the fraud department and speak to a customer service representative, who told me it would take approximately 10 business days to receive my funds. We asked for a claim number so I can reference later in the week, because of course I would want an update, however the fraud customer service rep replied, "there is no claim number".
On 11/16/2017, I returned to the same branch for an update. This is when I was informed there was nothing to update, no claim had been put in for my funds to be returned. The branch rep Justin Powell then asked to speak to a manager and made a complaint because we were given wrong information on how to proceed.
I completed both required steps below received horrible service and results from the fraud department
1) Under Santander's Online Banking Guarantee, when you use Online Banking, we guarantee that your money is protected against online fraud or losses. You are protected against unauthorized online transactions as long as you check your statements and promptly notify us of any unauthorized activity. Refer to your Online Banking Agreement for details on guarantees and your responsibilities for promptly reporting unauthorized transactions.
2) If there is an unauthorized transaction on your account, please contact a Customer Service Center Advisor immediately a11-[protected]. You may be asked to complete and sign an affidavit for the unauthorized transaction. Santander will then contact you by mail regarding the resolution of your claim
It is now more than a calendar week, according to the fraud department I have to now fill out a police report, bring a copy to the branch to be sent with an affidavit. PLEASE, PLEASE consider changing your process of online transfers. Perhaps consider an additional verification step, like an email or phone text code in order to proceed.

PS: I have been a customer for 19 years and have never had a complaint

Thank you,
Brandi Flowers

Santander Consumer USA car loan

I have been a customer with Santander for over 5 years and have 2 auto loans outstanding with them at this time. My 2007 Hummer H3 was purchased in 2012. The sale price was a little over $26, 000. Five years later I still owe over $15, 000. By my estimations, I have paid over $40, 000, so far and still owe over $15, 000. I am going to get my contract and my payment ledger and see what legal options I may have against them.

Santander Consumer USA auto loan

I received a car loan through Santander for $16, 000. I've paid $19, 000 plus and yet Santander still says I owe $13, 000. I have had some late payments, but paying 100% in interest is wrong. I've had the car for 5 years. I think that because my credit was less than stellar, the bank took advantage of me and charge me interest that was ridiculously high. If any one can contact me about this issue I would appreciate it.

Thank you!

Santander Consumer USA fees

For the past 2 years I've had my car, I always paid my car note directly from my bank account every month. This month (September) I decided to look at my payment history because I'm noticing my account balance isn't moving. I realized that Santander is charging me anywhere from $400 to $500 and more per month for interest. Now, in August of 2016 I decided to change my due date for my car note. I was told that I can change my due date once during the lifetime of my loan with them. I was never told that I would be charged $560 in interest and now I'm in a rat race. I purchased my car for $22, 200 and my current balance is $19, 738. In 2 years I already paid $7, 000 in interest. I know it has a lot to do with what my credit score was at the time but, I should've been told that the closer I pay to my due date the more interest I'm going to have to pay.

Santander Consumer USA auto loan

On September 19th, I called Santander USA to ask for a payment extension/deferment. I am in Florida and having financial issues due to expenses incurred thru Hurricane Irma. Since I had used up my deferments recently they refused to grant another. I feel this is wrong and heartless as I am not asking just to avoid payment.

I have spent quite a bit on temporary lodging, food replacement and now must pay to fix a a water well. All other companies have been generous including our electric company.

It's no fault of mine that a hurricane struck, They are being ridiculous.

Santander Consumer USA loan payments

I'm having a issue with Santander with my auto loan payments and getting my car back. On Sept 13 2017, Santander can an took my car early morning. I called the company the same day and s/w Lakeisha in the reinstatement dept explained that I was out of work and just returned back to work and was about to send in a payment and need to make arrangements to get my car back. Lakeisha advised that my account was 90 days delinquent and I would need to pay $2, 246.86 which includes 3 months payment of $1136.85 plus $1, 110 for fees, which she never disclosed what the fees were. She then advised that I can pay one month to hold the car for 7 days, which I did on Sept 14, 2017. As I looked over my account carefully b/c I am at the end of my loan and see I have a total amount to pay in te amount of $4, 464.61, which include $50.62 Accrued Interest & unpaid fees of $790.62 which again does explain the fees & they are trying to get me to pay half the loan instead of what I actually owe. I also found with my bank that my July & August payments that I sent to Santander was not cashed by the company but by someone else and this checks are being investigated for fraud. Also not only are they're not working with me, but I'm being charged a storage fee each day which I believe I was told it would be $150.00 a day. I would like this issue looked into immediately and would like to get my vehicle back.

Santander Consumer USA ripoff

I have had a car loan with this company since 2013, they are a scam! Paid extra $ on my loan for 4 yrs which only is applied toward interest. Wrote them letters to apply to my principal, no luck! Fell behind 2 months and BAM my car is repoed. Needless to say I got it back, my credit report says it was close/written off, but yet I still get statements and I still pay my car loan faithfully every month with still owing $7000. ! This company should be closed down!

Santander Consumer USA auto loan

Santander has ruined my life and my credit. The extremely high priced loan I was pressured into taking has negatively impacted my life and my credit. Santander called me all hours of the night and day. They called even after I had already spoken with an agent. After they made arraingements with them once they threatened my credit score, they still reposessed my car without proper notice or right to cure. They are now incorrectly reporting it as a charge off instead of reposession and have skewed the dates to impact my credit longer as well as reported incorrect amounts to the credit bureaus.. I dont want revenge, but justice would be so sweet!

This is a serious matter to be solved immediately. my name is tahira sikander. my auto finance account # is 2758034. my car was picked up because of non payment of couple of installments on 09/13/2017. this non payment was occur because I was out of country. any way I clear my overdue right next day on 09/14/2017. they supposed to send vehicle release order right away but in spite of 40 to 50 calls they never send my vehicle's release order so far. almost the same number of calls I made to the towing company.
if you do not take immediate notice to this matter I am going to file a complaint agaist you in federal reserve's
consumer complaint department.
