Sal Robles Photography review: Sexual Harassment 26

I stumbled upon this page after googling him for his photography page...I saw his watermark on a mutual friends photo and couldn't believe he's still photographing in San Antonio. He was one of the first photographers I ever worked with back in 2006 and I can attest, he is a HUGE PERVERT. He actually pulled my shirt down to see my bare breasts and started laughing like it was acceptable. I worked with him on 3 different occasions and he got sleazier every time so I stopped. He is retired so this isn't the way he makes money. Stay far away - especially you younger ladies! He is not a representation of a professional.

Have to disagree with all the negative comments. Just shot with Sal and he was nothing but professional.

For a minute there I haven't seen him around then he just popped out of the wood work again. The more I see and read about him the more I dislike him as a person. I also had a few models tell me that he used to bring used clothes for them to wear. i also hate that damn saying " I'll make you Famous" Whatever... How will you get famous when the photos never leave his computer. lol He probably has a hidden camera at the house he uses to shoot at, I wouldn't put it past him... He shoot anyone for free, he says I only do paid shoot. I hear all his ### is for free.

Oh I forgot to mention - I was a lingerie/nude model at the time - being nude was never an issue for me, I was and still am completely comfortable doing nude shoots. SAL was the problem. I wouldn't have felt safe or comfortable around him if I were wearing a snowsuit.

I couldn't agree more. Sal is a sleazeball. I shot with him back in 2006, we shot for HOURS and it was nothing but constant horndog comments and inappropriate behavior. Then he only gave me 3 proofs, photoshopped to hell and back with a huge watermark across them where it wouldn't have been usable even IF it were a decent photo.
I have warned every local model I have ever come across to stay far away from him. I can't believe he's still in "business".. He is a [censored].

ETA: yes, the thing about used swimwear etc is true! It was so nasty.

Ashley K and Kmellons you too are the only ones that have something to say nice about him. He is an over weight creep that drives a blue ford ranger. I'm sorry but I've shot tons of models female and male for publications and I always hear nothing but negative stuff about Sal Robles. Yes his photo shop sucks.. Gives models 4 photos and changes the color so they have the same one but different. That is all they get! I feel sorry for his wife and kids cause he spend money on most of the models cause he wants nudes most of the time..

You want to know something else. We were friends at one time his wife use to baby-sit our daughters. I had an event for a calendar signing. He showed up with his camera and tried to get 2 girls off to the side and take photos while they were touch themselves inappropriately. I told him they were there to work as it was for the customers to wash their motorcycles. I told him he wasn't able to take photos, then he said I have better models anyways. I said why are you here then.. After that no more friendship was there. I always hear bad things about him. I want to know what he does with all the photos he took. I never seen a magazine with his photos in it.

I'm a Texas photographer and photographed a few Playboy Models and Helped a few get into Playboy. When a photographer does this it is creepy. Plus he doesn't give out photos to the models. If he does he gives them different colors of the same one. Then his water mark is across the whole damn photo which takes away from it. Then his photo shop skills are bad. I guess he also went to school for MUA, this is also a joke. Just another way to get close to the models. He needs to keep his day job as a Jail guard..lol He say's he a Internationally known published photographer from California. I don't think so, he lives in a trailer in our city. He's is not a Professional Photographer...

I completely agree, he is one of the most pathetic people I have ever met in my life (and i have met many). Compulsive liar, out of touch with reality, you will not get the photos you are promised (he will blackmail you and only give them if you promise to shoot with him again, but you still never see the pictures). Do Not Shoot with him. If i ever cross his path I'll ... ... ... ..!

This is exactly what i thought of him as well..im a pin up model and ive run across this pervert before...scary thought to think this "MAN" calls himself a photographer ..so what if hes published..hes still a perv..reading his site gives me chills!? on his site he posts "I am always seeking Models for magazine submissions. If you feel you have what it takes to get published please contact me." and "I have access to a 70ft Yacht that I host shoots on during the summer in Austin. These shoots are free to the model, with food and beverage provided" and what did i learn from this...never go to a man who names his photography after himself...who wants to take you on a (friends) yacht for your photoshoot and also suggests you have "FREE" drinks with him while hes supposedly "working"..claims theres no catch its free..oh it def was a plot to get his cheap thrills free is what it was..i did four poses and realized he kept asking me to do more and more provactive poses? i mean just dirty poses..and he kept saying things like "oh yeah thats it" and "wow girl you got me blushing"..?.so i asked him to stop everything and got dresses and left...so creeped out. i wont ever go to a man photographer again. i go to a studio in san antonio who does real professional work and has also been published in fashion magazines..but doesnt constantly bring it up. they do my hair and make up free and the work is stunning and classy...as well as affordable...and they are a staff of women! =) so i feel so much more comfortable and ive been published thanks to them as well. anyhow heres the site www.BluDiamonStudios.net ...and good luck to SALS next victim. :/ poor thing.

SAL is a joke. He may be talented in the department, he took photos of me-groaped me, and even tried to remove my clothing as he 'surprisingly' took shots of me! He is a complaint bogus photographer. The man is sleezy, sly, deceitful, and has blocked me from messaging him. He is not ready to hear the truth about what a sleezeball he is. He shot me for 7 hours and sent me 4 shady pics...ugh, he gives good photographers a bad rep. I will be reporting him to our local channels and submitting a report against him to a national women's magazine. He's a schmuck and deserves to be taken down. How dare he lure you in, only to suck your trust and dignity from you. HE IS GOING TO PAY FOR WHAT HE HAS DONE TO ALL THESE WOMEN, including myself.

Some people can't read! "hating on the photographer"?...no that doesn't sound like something that should be considered anything less than sexual harrassment!

Having worked in the industry, I am constantly meeting models who have had nothing but complaints against him. I'll list what I hear and know...he has models use clothing (lingerie, bikinis, etc.) that other models have previously used. Maybe this is a minor thing to some but it just doesn't sound very professional or clean (and the models have said the clothing doesn't looked washed). He doesn't give photos to the models...this is a big one! He will shoot for hours then turn over 20 or so images to the model...the thing that makes this more irritating to models, is his ability to take one photo and then change it with two or 3 color overlays and give them the pics. So the model is only truly receiving a handful of images (5-10) even though it seems like more and he says 20 edited...it's commonly referred to in other venues as a "shell game"...giving what he says technically but knowing it is not the way it was presented. His photoshopping skills are atrocious! Overblown images, terrible colors, burnt looking skin...models who maybe he caught a rare good shot of that are just completely over-photoshopped and the pic is terrible by the time he finishes. He waits outside of Playboy casting calls and will approach the models that didn't make it for shoots...that's some class...kind of like the 2am bar pickup.. He's no more a Playboy photographer than I am an astronaut by watching a shuttle launch. He will demand that images from other photographer's be removed from their social network profiles and only his be used. I can't verify the "touching" of models but that has been told directly, by models, to me or in my presence. Any photog that has ever used the phrase, "I'll make you famous" (as he did on his site or MM account) should be stripped of his camera and made to stand in the middle of town with a sign that says, "I AM A SLEAZE". Not sure if the photo attached can be seen or expanded when clicked on but you can find plenty of bad photos anywhere he posts. Models that continue to shoot with him have got to be blind when viewing his work and just completely naive if after reading about him, to think all the people that complain, are just making things up.

I have to agree that Sal is a pervert. Myslef and a friend of mine did a shoot with him and he was very disrespectful and grabbed at my bra a lot. I refused to do any nude shots and he became beligerant. He kept pulling at my top during the shoot and clicked the camera each time he pulled it down. I requested that he give me those photos and he made up every excude in the book, to this day I know that I am just apart of his spank bank! He is nasty and inhumane. I was a correctional officer and we lock up people like him. My friend nor I have no contact with him only horrible memories.

I don't know that guy at all. I CAN say that just now I had one of the models I work with on a series right now just emailed me asking for advice on "how to handle this guy." I don't think any professional photographer should be something to "handle" by a young model. She claimed basically all that I am reading on this site. Just to FIND this guy out, I google him and guess what, three top entries are these complaints! That speaks volumes. He called my photography [censor] (I am a full time, award winning commercial and portrait photog who shoots local fashion for [censor] and giggles) and told that young lady to remove all the images from her portfolio and he would "consider working with" her, of course without pay. This sort of thing really sucks. If it's true (which I am sort of leaning towards believing), then this guy is at the very least rude, insulting, and needs to consider his words carefully.

I have to agree, this guy is a pervert! he never sends me good pictures and Ive done a nude shoot for him and I never saw a single picture. He makes every excuse in the book. If you do shoot with someone else he does cut you off. He tells all his models that if they get an offer to shoot for something to bring it up with him first, and when you do, he tells you they are just a scam and to not shoot. He wants his "models" all to himself and tells them that he will get them in maxim or playboy. He doesnt do anything for his models and there will be so many great picstures that you know you took, and he wont give any to you. If he wants to be so "famous" then why wont he edit the good shots? Doesnt make sense. Hes a total joke. He goes after new models and brainwashes them into thinking he is the best and to delete any picture from any other photographer they have posted. He wants to be the only one and hes not paying the models to be his muse so he has no right to do that. He does say perverted comments during the shoot and he has touched me inapropriately when he says he is just trying to "pose" you. He is horrible! I regret ever shooting with him!

Honestly you MUST be under his spell, or just simply have your head to far up Sal's [censor]. He is DIRTY, CREEPY, DISRESPECTFUL, DEGRADING, and DOWN RIGHT REPULSIVE...He tells EVERY girl "you have a natural beauty" "wow you look amazing"(with that sideways, eyes wide half smile look on his face) "you have the perfect body, show it" but dont forget to add that there are other comments such as "damn girl" "give it to me" "yes yes yes" "oh my god baby" "show me more" or even the famous "tease me baby, make love to me" WHICH I KNOW YOU'VE HEARD. His pictures are okay and that is it and in all honesty I have recently found that one of the pictures he "CLAIMS" he got into maxim was shot by somebody else. The playboy model he "helped" get into playboy wont even shoot with him anymore, along with multiples of other girls out there. He is racist, and talks [censor] about other girls once he finds someone else to take there top off for him. And actually some of the girls he shoots with are just to stupid or have NO brains what so ever to understand they are taking their tops off to a pedofile. And another thing, I know a HANDFUL of girls who will take nude/half nude photos and dont get a single one. You do not even get good quality photos, EVERY single photo you get is photoshoped or just has a lighting adjustment to it which makes it look even worse. Get this he takes pictures of you when your unaware ex...if your bending over or adjusting yourself and something just so happends to pop out."im testing the light" is the response you will get. Sal Robles also seems to think he is the best photographer in San Antonio, Austin area when in fact he has to be the WORST in the area...go ahead get referances from other photographers in the San Antonio Area on what other girls are saying about Sal Robles to them. And how creepy the guy is. He will never get any of you pathetic little girls to do anything big. Hes controlling and will cut your [censor] off if you try to shoot with anyone else...dont believe me try it out for yourself...
he says on his model mayhem that

"Models interested in bringing an Escort to my shoot are allowed to as long as they are going to be Modeling with you. Boyfriends and Husbands can come as long as they are Paying me for the shoot."
An escort is not someone that has to model with you its simply another girl he can try to get a good wack off pic to have...Boyfriend/Husband are NOT allowed to come on photoshoots paying or not...he will tell you they can but when it comes to the time to shoot they have to leave.

They reason he does not have model scouts or assistants is cuz he is not a true "professional photographer" he tells you a make up artist/hair artist can be there but they NEVER are.
His "70ft yatch" is a pontoon type boat where there is NO privacy to change unless you do it when sal is shooting another person.

He does NOT have many playboy models he has shot "there is only one" which she like i said earlier doesnt shoot with him anymore.

Also on his model mayhem if you look to the left where it says Compensation: he put Depends on assignment...his assignment that he will pay you for is to take nude pics of yourself sexually and give them out to strangers.how do i know this...every model hears this story and somehow they end up meeting eachother and conversing.

Look on his OMP site and it says he does fashion, runway, sport casual, art...
WRONG you will ONLY shoot with him if your nude or naked and wanna do bikini and if he does try to make you pay he will over charge you but then again most likely you will/can shoot for free since he needs all the publiscity he can get to make him self look more of a professional.

First photographer in TEXAS to photograph a playmate, excuse me. However, photographing a playmate and sexually harassment are not at all the same thing. Sexual harassment is illegal...being able to photograph beautiful women in whatever way he decides is not. That is after all the complaint about Sal, correct? So if you're going to accuse someone of sexual harassment then at least do it right but it seems other than hating on his photography there is nothing more being done here. Simply don't shoot with him if you don't like it. False accusations are not the way to go.

The statement "Sal was the first photographer to photograph a playmate of the year." is just pure idiotic! Second, everyone in Austin and San Antonio knows that Sal is the one poor photographer that you can count on to shoot free photos for you if you are really desperate. Just by looking through his gallery you can tell he only works with girls with no class and are on the 'ghetto' list!

First of all: Sal was the first photographer to photograph a playmate of the year.
If you don't want to show your confidence or love for the female anatomy simple don't shoot with Sal because he shoots too well to waste his time on models that don't want to embrace the body they were given.

He is a professional, respectful, and amazing photographer. No one of his models is under 18.

He directs so well and would never touch one of his models inappropriately or make disgusting remarks. If anything "oh that's hot!", "man girl you are just naturally beautiful!", or "use your legs you have awesome legs" may be heard but in no way is that inappropriate for directing. In fact he builds confidence and makes you feel beautiful in your own way with his photographs.

Sal in no way sexually harasses his models and only allows some shoots for free to work with the people he loves to work with and for his own practice and hobby. He knows what he's good at and just because he may make suggestions you don't like, a simple "no." would suffice.

All in all, you'd be lucky to shoot with Sal because if you just listen and give it a chance he knows what he's doing and deserves way more respect than what these girls have given him.
