Safeway checkers wearing perfume

All the checkers who work tat Safeway Super market wear a lot of perfume and get it on my food ..Its hygienically not good..I have spoken on the phone twice..But they smell like perfume..My feelings are do not want perfume on my bags, shopping cart food bags and especially my food..Is that so much to ask, , '

Safeway new store manager

Safeway Department grocery managers

when employees are working stock & moving pallets .warehouse. /superviors are being disrespectful to there fellow crew/.job duties / not moving out of the way so employees could do his /her job at times. going on for about 4 -5 years .this location.

Safeway the bouquet was old, ugly and pathetic

I ordered bouquet through the company Safeway Flowers Online. It was for my farther. I called them and my mum told me that the bouquet was horrible. It looked old and was really small. He sent me several pics, and it was really pathetic. I decided to return money back, ‘coz I paid rather high price, but I was angry as well that they have ruined really pleasant events for my family. I tried to reach them, but no one replied. These people are scammers and ###, so be careful if you buy from them as well as post comments about your things with them.

Safeway unclean working habits in the deli

This is a complaint that has been seen and complained about. I went to the deli to order a sandwich. The one thing I noticed was that the server was using some gloves to handle food, but also she was touching everything that wasnt part of the sandwich. She was moving things around, then asked me what I wanted. I waited to see if she was going to change her gloves but she just grabbed the bread, while doing that, she also grabbed the trash can to move it out of the way, then grabbed the bread took two slices out. Touch some other things that was not part of the sandwich again. After she had started to place the lettuce and meat. I stopped her and said. " You're not going to sell me that sandwich, are you? and she looked at me, like, why? I told her what she had done. She did apologize, and changed her glove and started a new sandwich. I told her, this is the same issue Subways were having, until someone got sick and a law suit was filed. Since then, they have changed their policy. The slogan is; " The gloves come off, when you approach the counter, the gloves come off, when leaving the counter." they have not had an incident since. This issue is at ALL Safeway deli counters. If you dont believe me, go in on an inspection without them knowing and watch. You will see it happen . All it takes is for one person to contract ecoli from one store, and there will be a law suit to come. its better to spend money on rubber gloves, than to pay for court cost.

Safeway store quality

Out of many stock items all the time. Out of milk one morning. Never ever seen that in a Safeway store. Sullen check out clerks, slow service, dirty feel to the store. The store managment is un-responsive to store complaints and complaints about employees. Check out clerks are sullen and act as if they don't even want to be there at work. Store beggar's are slow or no help at all. Even for a small town store, bad, .

Safeway deli / employees

Okay so I am really sick of going into Safeway to get food from the deli and they never have anything! If they do its old and dried up, and when you ask the deli clerk if they can make more they act as if its a burden! I go in there for chicken and egg rolls and have to settle for a couple of dried pizza sticks? I think if an employee has time to stand around and chat or they have time to go outside and smoke I would think that they would have time to actually do their job and keep the deli stocked up and with fresh food at that. I think it sucks that some people have c*** jobs and have to work their butts off all day to pay their bills, but these people get paid for sitting around and being rude!

Safeway pricing of home brand foods

I am a mother of one child who enjoys eating cheese for this reason I buy home brand 500g block cheese, which cost $3.44 until Safeway decided to sign Jamie Oliver to their brand, not only has home brand cheese risen to $5.00 but most if not all home brand products have had astronomical price increases. I don't part take in Jamie Oliver's products as I can't afford the price Safeway are charging 'smashing chicken 1kg $19.99, encrusted steak 1kg $22.00 this is absurd pricing. Due to the lack of consideration by Safeway in charging the public for their Jamie Oliver production, and not big business ( they were willing to go to court over the 40 cent per create increase) I and my fellow shopping mums will no longer be shopping at any Safeway/ Woolworths stores. Honestly Safeway should be ashamed at what they call business, pure and simply money making scams... Bring on IGA they give back to their community this is were our shopping is now done. Thanks IGA. You should be ashamed for writing this, perhaps if you did not spread your legs you would not be a single mother. Get a job, you should be ashamed of posting this and complaining you cannot afford their food prices when you don't bother getting a job. Why have kids when you cannot afford to feed yourself.

Safeway unprofessional company that does not follow through

So, I've been in need of work for a couple months now, so I applied online to Safeway because some of the positions looked great to work in! I applied to 4-5 different positions and got an email from a man who is apart of the Corporate Human Resources team. He e-mailed me to schedule a Pre-screen interview and what times would work. I agreed to 11am MST Friday, May 9th, 2014... He sent me an e-mail stating that's what time he would call. I HAVE ALL E-MAILS! Well, he NEVER called... No phone call, no e-mail, nothing. Not even the Monday of the next week. WTH? I may be only 23, but I'm not stupid or letting these people in higher ranks be so unprofessional! People are in need of jobs, but those in higher ranks apparently don't give a c***. If this man or company SAFEWAY was not interested in my application, wouldn't a professional leader in his position let me know? Say something? But no, haven't heard a word back. I have all the e-mails and his confirmation.. Really sucks...

Safeway customer service

One of the pharmacy techs was inexcusable rude to me: both condescending and abrupt. Although she was unable to understand a simple request, because their system was in error, she kept insisting it was my error and eventually hung up on me. I guess they don't want my business, since customer service, not price, is the most important thing to consumers.

Safeway prime rib price

My husband is retired and I am disabled. We decided last year as we have a limited income to not buy gifts for our 4 children, their spouses and our 7 grandchildren but to provide them with a Prime Rib dinner. Last year we purchased our prime rib from Safeway and we got an excellent deal and a fantastic product. Thinking we would continue this tradition right after Thanksgiving I called Safeway and other stores seeing if they had any idea of what their Holiday Price would be for prime rib. Only one store knew what they would be charging. The Safeway meat department said it would be equal to last year, 2012. We went ahead and put in an order for a 12 lb. Prime Rib. As it got closer to Christmas I checked the ads for price per pound of prime rib. Garguiles Red Apple on Perry Avenue offered it for $5.99 per pound. WOW ... I got the Safeway meat department on McWilliams Road in Bremerton, the Safeway I had order our prime rib from to check on their price. I did this on December 20th. I was told that my prime rib would be $5.99 per pound, same as the Red Apple. Great I decided to continue with our order. Being disabled I sent my daughter, who is a disabled veteran to Safeway to pick it up. I gave her the $72.00 I thought I would be paying. I did not know until late last night that she had to pay $106.00 for the prime rib, that was including the Safeway card discount. They lied to me big time. My daughter didn't want to tell me because she knew I would be upset. I had to pay her back the difference and it hurts ... No money coming in until the 8th of January. We could definitely use the difference in price. This is so wrong especially since I made every effort to make sure I was getting the $5.99 price per lb. Safeway management and lack of customer service and ethics

I had horrible service from the Manager, DON at the Safeway store in Shoreline off of 153rd and Aurora. He is not a people person, is arrogant and lies, doesn't listen and his entire store staff act like they are made and inconvenienced that you are there.
Check out lines are slow and horrific, his staff don't know who to help customers, but they do know who to harass them when they are in the strore!
I've tried to talk to Don but he is arrogant an power plays his authority, and really doensn't know everything, but will ACT like he does, so when he lies, he actually believe his own lies. He is accusatory without the facts, and treats humans horribly, I will not shop at a store he manages as its reflective in how horrible his staff treat people, and don't smile, aren't helpful, filthy store and bathroom. Try working on your own store and employees before you go and start harassing other's who enter the store for business of shopping purpose.
Don is a horrible manager and this individual names Shari the shrink manager is also horrible, she wears no badge and is a harassing employee who also power plays her authority and instead of helping really escalates a situation because she is rude and condescending person. Where do you get these rude people this is the worst ever in all my years on this earth shopping and doing business in grocery stores.
I'm a marketer and I know how to market negative info too as well as positive. I will start negative campaign regarding this store Safeway at the 153rd/Aurora location because of the horrible people you have working for you, Don, and Shari, sheri, or whatever! Train your people to realize they deal with with humans and they need to be more professional, not confront in the aisles or talk in front of customers in discourteous manner. I'm so angered that I'm on a mission, DON"T SHOP AT SAFEWAY GO TO QFC or FRED MEYERS where the management know who to treat all people right.
Boo Safeway, horrible and arrogant manager Don, at 153rd and Aurora Safeway, and Shari, a Shrink Manager, to very inappropriate employees and management at your store!

Safeway meat department and customer service

Safeway at 32551 N. Scottsdale Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85266. I live very close to this Safeway store, so sometimes I have to go there out of necessity. Whenever I have time I do whatever I can to avoid this store, particularly, and Safeway in general. EVERY time I have gone there (over the course of one year) to buy meat in their advertised special they have been out of the advertised special. This is so frustrating! As, then I have to buy something not on sale and overpriced. Every time I go up to the meat counter and ask them where the item is, they always say that they are out of it. When I ask for a substitution they always say "No". What's worse is the guys in the meat department always have a rude attitude. How can they ALWAYS be out of the advertised special. This is a pattern.I should know better by now. My husband and I buy most of our groceries at this store because of the proximity. He has been overcharged on items so many times that we know it isn't just a coincidence. I have to just stop going there even though the next store is another 15 minutes farther each way.

Safeway pharmacy

I contacted The manager (Ivy) at the Safeway pharmacy on Howard Ave in Burlingame Ca..To request a price for medication. My pharmacy closed and I was desperate to find someone to fill a monthly prescription. I was to get a call from her and didn't. So, I went there in person to introduce myself.. She greeted me with no smile after I introduced myself and I gave her 2 past receipts for my medication. She refused to match the price and said she would call me back the following Monday. NEVER RECEIVED CALL.. I explained how anxious I was about getting a reasonable price and to have a resolution on this matter..I am so disappointed in Ivy's attitude..
She lost me as a customer and I am a 30 year resident. She was rude and disrespectful to put me off . Then never call..

Safeway bad. gasoline on a fillup

One week ago tonight I was driving from Renton WA with my daughter and two granddaughters. Its a miracle that we made it to Idaho. Stopped for a fill up in Grandview WA at a Safeway supermarket while we got sandwiches at 9:30 pm. 10 minutes after getting the gas on the Highway 84 we started to lose RPMs and stalled and stopped while going 65mph. It was 10 pm and my daughter was driving, with her daughters 23 months and 8 yrs old in the back seat. What would you do? She saved us! This kept happening for many miles while we tried to find a gas station open. The scariest ride ever, with the engine turning off while traveling on a highway with trucks all around us. She kept racing the engine and occasionally jump starting it at 30 mph. Made it to a truck stop in Oregon no mechanic on duty, check oil it was fine. Attendants and trucks agreed it looked like and sounded like bad gas. Nothing we could do to fix car at that time of night. Had to get to Idaho to meet moving truck at 8 AM drove with same problem til the next truck stop, Love's, just before leaving Oregon got high test gas (3/4 of a tank) and car was 30% better. Still stalled and RPMs screwed up but we made to Nampa alive! Just horrible. My daughter had to do all the driving ; I couldn't because my right knee replacement couldn't take that kind of driving abuse. She was great and all the problems kept her wide awake! Better than a gallon of coffee. Called Safeway the next day, got the run around because I had no proof and no one else complained. we probably got all the bad gas on the fill up. Anyone have any idea how I can prove this ?
Called the Safeway the next day, spoke to store manager eventually. I got another call the next day had to answer a whole questionaire. I.e., did I have the fuel tested. Really, at 1AM in the morning, iI should know this? then got a call from corporate asking more questions. Guess what? Got a letter from Safeway today they said I had no proof ... too bad. What would have happened if we had gotten into a serious accident. No proof, no responsibility on their part. I am reporting this to the state. How can the people who made this decision live with themselves. My car is still messed up and I can't even afford to get it fixed. Oh gave them fuel pump number and time of sale and amount of sale. They said no one else complained!
Safeway you are a horrid corporation. All the money I spent in your store and buying gas in the past and this is the kind of treatment a widow gets from a big corporation when we all nearly died!

Safeway slandering a customer

My wife has been shopping at this particular safeway store for over 4 years now. We spend over 3000.00 dollars a year just in prescriptions from the pharmacy alone. My wifes gilrfriend (linda l) called her one day and told her that that the customer services rep/cashier (maureen pearse) said why is she always coming into the store intoxicated. She has apparently said this to other staff members as well. My wife has MS and part of this horrible disaese affects your motor function and speach. She has been slanderd by this employee and is embarassed to shop there now. We thank God that she is no longer in a wheel chair. The worse part of this is that Maureen is our neighbour and broke safeway policy about speeking about customers. When con fronted by my wife about this she said it's none of your bussiness. Maureen and her husband decieded to steal my 10 year old sons dirt bike and hide it in their shed because of this confrontation. I'm contacting the Winnipeg free press and the Winnipeg sun to have this story puplished. Its a sad day when an employee of a chain of stores can behave in this manner. Confedentiality is everyones right when it comes to their own medical issues and to be slanderd as a drunk is unexceptable. Thank you for hearing our concerns. Yours truely, Pastor John Urban

I am an employee with Safeway and I am so sorry to hear what was done to you. 😟This really surprises me on this situation and how could someone if this nature be a part of our team? I have worked for the company for 9+ yrs and can't believe this situation, Safeway best do something about this situation or I would go to corporate. I do hope your wife is doing better and remains to do better that is a TARABLE sickness. Just wanted to let you know our stores or not all like this (I hope).

Safeway discrimination

On 2/13/13, I visited store #1932 with my children to pick up a few items. As I am in the checkout line #4, a shopper ahead of me checked out with no problem. It's now my turn and before the cashier (Susssana) began scanning my items, the cashier proceeded to ask me a serious of questions which threw me completely off gaurd. The cashier asked, "How are you paying today", "Is is EBT". I replied to her that I have been a Safeway customer for a very long time and have never been asked up front on my payment method. The cashier stated that she need to know per the store's bag policy. At this point, I became very upset, angry and most of all embarrassed. Because of my emotions during this event, I asked my children to go to the car so that they did not have to witness the cashier or my behavior, response, etc. Once the transaction was over, I immediately asked for a manager. While still at the checkout the cashier proceeded to checkout the next customer and not once did she ask her how she was paying, nor did she ask the customer in front of me.I waited about 10 minutes before an employee named Elizabeth noticed that I was having an issue and she proceeded to find the manager of the night shift Jessie to assist me with my complaint. Jessie never arrived. Elizabeth asked if she could take down my information and assured that I would receive a call to discuss the matter. Information was exhanged and I left the store. Today, 2/14/13 I called the store and asked to speak with Claudette Wright who is the store manager. I was told that she was unavailable and that Matt could assist me. I spoke with Matt who agreed that this event should of never happened and was very apologetic because in his own words he felt it was little discriminatory. Matt explained that he would discuss the matter with Claudette and also talk to the cashier(Sussana). As an African American woman who has served this country with the United States Navy, I was offended to be asked up front on my payment method. And to assume that I was on welfare is outrageous.

Safeway safeway employees victims of mobbing and bullying practices

Safeway employees are victims of mobbing and bullying practices! Poor mgt practices overlook low employee morale due to constant changing job shifts, below workweek hours, and employee gossip and defamation of character forces many to leave…..The results are poor customer service and poor job performance in all areas……Many stores are closing…And consumers are going elsewhere…..

My son is 3000 dollars poorer because of unfilled promises For a mgt position . He relocated for his job and then when the promised mgt position did not materialize had to move again losing 3000. This after putting in almost 4 1/2 years with the company ! I too am out of pocket helping him subsidize his income because of fewer hours etc. The result of his employment with safeway caused him health and mental distress …..He is so much better now that he no longer has to put up with all the harassment he received .

He now has a job as an asst property mgr….. But still hears rumors that have defamed his character even after not being employed by safeway for 2 months including one that he was sent to prison! I am incensed …..

He was called gay on his first day of work at the sandy safeway while on break with my other son who works in another store in sandy . Employees who did not know either of them called them partners! …I am so incensed by this that it all i can do not to go into that store and take on the mgr myself…..

I am hoping that others that have received such treatment will organize a class action suit against the store. I see that there are many out there!
