Safeway personal check protocol

On June 15, 2018 I attempted to shop at the Safeway in Rodeo, California. I went to the express line where an employee named Ayeisha was at the register. I told Ayeisha I would be writing a check for my items, and that I would be writing over the amount for cash back. I then asked Ayeisha for two packs of American Spirit cigarettes. So Ayeisha had to leave the register to go to the service desk where the cigarettes were located. Because there was no employee at the service desk. Ayeisha then summoned me to the service desk to inform me there were no American Spirit cigarettes in stock at the store. And asked if I wanted another brand. I told her no and we returned to the checkout. There was an unusually large number of people in the store at the time. So I just grabbed a candy bar because people were getting agitated from my transaction. When I put the candy bar on the counter Ayeisha looked at me up and down. Then asked had I written a check there before. I told her I had. Just a few weeks ago. I then proceeded to write the check for twenty dollars cash over. Ayeisha put my check in the machine, turned to me and said it would not go through. I asked her why is that. She grunted, and then said "let me try it again ". She repeated the same process again. And this time pulled a small receipt from a small machine other than the cash register. Which had the number zero at the bottom of it. I asked her what that meant. She told me that it indicates how many checks I have written at their store. I then left the line and asked another employee who was the manager. The employee pointed at a woman named Jamilla. Who was on a register herself. I asked to speak to her about my problem. And then waited at the service desk for her. Fifteen to twenty minutes had passed. And I still was not able to speak to her. So I left the store, and called Safeway customer service. I was transferred by customer service to the department who deals with finance. They had a record of my cleared check. And told me Ayeisha should have called them for check approval, or disapproval which she did not do. I was told that is the company protocol for personal check writing. After learning this information I called the Rodeo store. I was able then to talk to Jamilla. And I explained to her what Safeway's financial services told me. She then shifted blame totally to Ayeisha. I then told her I would be filling a formal complaint against everyone involved. And I told her I was humiliated in front of all those other customers for no reason. I later found out that Ayeisha knows family members of mine. And that she had a problem with a family member of mine in the past. So that makes me believe her actions/inactions were personal in nature. At the expense of Safeway's reputation, and customer service. Which should be a fireable offense.

Safeway deli price of primo taglio roast beef

At the King City Safeway the price is $14.99 per pound.

At the Atascadero Vons the price is $10.99 per pound for the very same product.

No excuses - I won't buy the sliced beef where I live in the King City any more. I used to run a deli and know it's a gouge.

Also I'm a chef who knows how slow they move at this deli while customers are waiting very patiently. Yikes!

Safeway customer services

I was shopping at a store located at 31st & Noriega St San Francisco CA 94122. I was doing self Check out for the lobster tails. A employee Amy? Came over and stop me . She said "I catch you" and void my transaction. She ask me to stop there and start counting my purchase ! I really feeling they treat me like a criminal or a shop lifter . I asked what happened, she said the system had a error, and I was changed too cheap! And I am not allowed to have that price .
I asked why just stop me, there are others getting this price. She said just because she catch me.
I am not sure why she did this to me, but I feel discriminated cos she stop me at the public, and keep saying she catch me .
I don't think I did anything wrong, if they system was error, honor the price then, Safeway is a big corporation, why treat people like [censored].

Safeway service cashier clerk

I went into safeway just 20 mins ago. It was past 11:00 at night. This safeway is located at Cherry Chase Shopping Center. Got my groceries and headed to the cashier. There was no one in line but me. Cashier walk in and waited on me. As I was unloading my groceries on the conveyor belt, I explained to the cashier, his name is Kyle W. that some purchases were regular and some were WIC. As soon as he heard me saying WIC, he went on saying about how difficult it is to do transactions for WIC and so on. But he did not have difficulties charging my account for the other groceries I purchased that were not WIC. I explained to him that I separated the WIC groceries and only got what was WIC approved. He kept on going why I had to come in at this hour, this hour is really busy and all., and that I should not have done WIC purchase. Are you kidding me? He had the worst customer service I have ever encountered. Make no mistake, I will be reporting this incident to my case manager. Your cashier is verbally abusive towards customer. If he hates his job so much, he should get out and not take it on customers.

Safeway noisy delivery at front of mccolls

Hi I am complaining regarding your delivery drivers who have delivered before 9am in a residential area. I live opposite McColls on Charlton Rd, Brentry Bristol BS106JX. I was woken up by delivery at 5.30am Wednesday 13th & again this morning Thursday 14th at 7.50am. I have reported this & others to the Council. There are laws governing delivers in a built up residential area. I am a vulnerable person who doesn't sleep well & to be woken up by delivery is unacceptable.

I am sick and tired of being woken up by noisy deliveries I have made a formal complaint to Bristol City Council as there’s laws governing deliveries in a residential area.

Safeway monopoly instant winner redemption

I spend $250-300a week in groceries and additional hundreds in pharmacy costs. I have tons of Monoply certificates with considerable instant winner certificate. Before the deadline I went to redeem the certificates and Was told that they were extending the redemption until June 30. I went to my store today and was told by the manager that the redemption was for gravy packets only. I was not told this was the case when talk8ng with the manager a couple of weeks ago. She insisted that I was not told this. As I was discussing it with her she turned her back and walked away while I was still talk8ng with her. Ask yourself if that is the way you would like to be treated as a customer? Rude and dismissive managers will drive customers away faster than anything. They need to entertain the possibility that the customer was told a lie and then was dismissed by the person who could resolve the complaint. Is it worth it to your company to drive away a $300 a week plus hundreds more from the pharmacy for a bag of chips and a bottle of aspirin? Phoenix is filled with amazing groceries with managers who work to resolve issues and don't turn their backs on customers.. I guess it is time for me to get out of my comfort zone and shop elsewhere. 6/13/18.

Safeway pharmacy

I want to make clear that my experience to date with my Safeway Pharmacy has been exceptionally positive. However this past Monday, June 11, 2018, my Doctor submitted a prescription as must be done each month for my pain medication (Percocet 10mg./325mg.). The only thing different this month was that I went down from 75 pills to 60 for the month as I am working with my physician to reduce my consumption of this type of medication. However it remains necessary particularly to secure a night's sleep as I have Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma, a right knee whose joint is essentially destroyed and must be replaced, chronic lower back/disc problems, very painful calcium deposits in both hands, 3 surgeries on my right foot in 2017 which resulted in the loss of a toe and part of the foot. The pharmacist informed me that she could not fill the prescription until the following Monday, June 18, 2018. She stated that she could not transfer the prescription to another pharmacy and that all I could do was check back on 18 June, 2018. This is really hard to believe and even harder to accept. I cannot believe that my medication which I have been on for years cannot be obtained in less than a weeks time. Any help or guidance I could be given would be appreciated.

Safeway rule enforcement

I am offended that I was accosted by someone with an anti gun initiative that said that if I didn't want to sign that I wanted children to get shot. This was while sitting in front of the sign prohibiting this very thing. I find the lack of enforsement of the rules to be out of line and highly unprofessional. Please advise your manager to not allow this behavior any longer.

Safeway complaint about ramon yu at 4950 mission st, san francisco, ca 94112

6/8/2018, I shopped at Safeway at the above address because my family wanted to have some chicken wings. When I saw that half of the BBQ chicken wings were heavily burnt yet I ran out of time to find another place to satisfy my family's needs, I told one salesclerk to please pack several wings that were not so heavily scorched. The salesclerk didn't get it the first time, so I had to get closer and let him know which wings I couldn't accept. Then suddenly, a man came very close to me and startled me by a "pushing" gesture. After that, he yelled "Step back! Step back!" and went away. I didn't know who he was and why he yelled, but his behavior was very rude. When I checked out at the food department, I met him again and he acted as a cashier now.
When he saw me, instead of having any intent to apologize for his improper behavior, he proudly claimed that he was the manager, Ramon Yu, and I should obey him. (What? Are you a policeman? Am I suppose to obey anyone who yelled at me at Safeway without knowing who he was and why I was yelled at?--- I didn't say these but his manner was very offensive and insulting, which made me even more unhappy.)

I patiently explained why I needed to get closer to the salesclerk. I explained I couldn't get my words across when I first said them. Ramon Yu simply said "then you should repeat and repeat." (When should a customer carry all the burden to get served?) I replied "then probably you may also consider to train your employees better." Ramon Yu harshly replied, "THEN YOU SHOULD NOT SHOP HERE. "

What? This is how a Safeway manager should reply to a customer's advice? If Ramon Yu was a qualified manager, he could have improved at least in three aspects: 1) train his employees not to burn food so badly----they are carcinogenic; 2) train his employees to be more attentive to clients' requests; and 3) if he doesn't want his clients to get closer to his salesclerks, tape a sign on the floor to alert people.(BTW, I am a 5'2" female. I was at least 40cm from the salesclerk and I spoke softly. I had no idea why this distance is inappropriate and Mr. Yu did not explain to me either.)

In sum, Mr. Ramon Yu is extremely rude and inexperienced. He didn't have the right personality to serve customers nor did he has the charisma to train his team. He brought shame to Safeway and is not qualified to be a manager.

Safeway restrooms with no locks

Hello I was shopping at the Safeway on NE 24th in Redmond. I notice either restroom had NO locks on them. As I was using the restroom, two different people walked in on me. This is outrageous and ridiculous unsafe for the women's and girls have to use a restrooms with no locks for privacy. This store is putting women and children at risk of being sexually assault. I don't think you someone being raped in the restrooms just like the women who was raped almost a month ago in Seattle BMW car dealership by a homeless man. There are alot of homeless people just hang out the store. If no acting take place regarding this issues, I will be reporting the company to BBB. I attached the pictures to this message. Safeway manager

So there is a manager at the graham Safeway named Chelsea lent has a very bad attitude and constantly feels like she's harassing me when I come to shop but my boyfriend also works there and she said I have to tell her I'm there if I come in she gives me nasty looks and I'm tired of it everytime I come in she leaves what she's doing to follow me and I would like this resolved I feel threatened by her

Safeway customer service

When in line at the checkout, our cashier Linda was incredibly rude and entitled when attempting to use a manager's special coupon attached to some raw chicken. We peeled the coupons off to make it easier on her and she proceeded to question us and insist that it is her job to remove the coupons - as if we were in the wrong. No where did it suggest that we were supposed to leave the coupon attached; in fact, should we have opted for self checkout we would have been required to remove the coupons ourselves. After numerous unnecessary apologies, she didn't even acknowledge us. Not to mention, it was over $100 purchase. Absolutely terrible service from Linda at Dublin Safeway at Tassajara and Dublin Blvd!

Safeway signature select home style ice cream

I am 69 years old. I still use the Safeway pharmacy on occasion but no longer have a good reason to frequently shop in my nearby Safeway store. My Safeway club card # [protected]. I am writing to you out of concern for the recent degradation of what was a truly unique vanilla ice cream label and taste and texture among a broad number of competitors.
Not only did the label change to become ordinary but so did the taste and feel in the mouth. What a disappointment!
After not seeing the product on the shelf for awhile, I was pleased to find it. It was more difficult to find because it now has a very similar label to all of the other flavors.
I bought two containers to celebrate it's return to the shelves. After a month in the freezer, the second container remains untouched.
Your new recipe feels greasy and slick on the tongue and the vanilla flavor tastes like many others. When frozen solid, the scoop easily glides through the mixture now because of all the gum and fillers that were added to the recipe. When it melts in the dish, it no longer returns to a thin milky vanilla treat, it is more viscous and gooey like all of the other ice creams that use fillers.
Your research and development team and your bean counter managers came up with a product that has a wider profit margin but they really missed the mark on quality and appeal. They apparently haven't tasted good homemade ice cream, so they don't know how it feels when it is frozen in the container or how it feels and tastes on the tongue or how it looks and moves on a plate when it melts.
Your original recipe, taste and texture was much more appealing and true to the name and label you chose to call it "HOME STYLE". ie. almost homemade.
What a disappointment for me and I am sure many other Safeway shoppers that enjoyed your original home style ice cream.

I am a big fan of your ice cream but today I opened my moose tracks to enjoy and I found a hair it was disgusting. It did not come from me my hair is always put up and no one else has access to my Ice cream.i just want you to know I'm not happy but I would appreciate no hair in my ice cream.

My daughter purchased Signature Select Mint Cookie Crumble tonight from Safeway. I was eating my bowl of ice cream when I bit down on something hard. Luckily I knew the ice cream didnt have peanuts in it and spit it out. It was a small piece of wood covered in chocolate. Luckily my grandson wasnt here and didn't eat the ice cream. I tried to contact Safeway right away and you cant find an email for them and the customer service line you sit on hold

Stan, you hit the nail on the head. They had a stand out product and then they lowered the quality. You can fool some of the people all of the time. It is no longer an option, what a shame. Half frozen, overrun, and gooey gums, flavored with vanillin synthesis. Eewwgrosstyle!

Safeway get some new cooks in your deli

Two times in a row we got chicken the first time and then got the chinese food today.. Just awful.. The chicken in my chinese food was a cartilage. Couldn't even eat it.. Rest of the food was bland.. I threw it in the garbage.. The fried chicken was dry and nasty.. You should be ashamed that you are taking our money and serving this crap. I am not happy.

Safeway fried chicken

I bought a spicy fried chicken from the cold ready to eat area and when I took a bite after heating it in the microwave, the chicken was raw. I took pictures, it was disgusting. I am very unimpressed by the product and it is very unsafe to serve raw chicken. I hope that drastic measures will be taken to fix what happened and make sure this doesn't happen to a children or someone that wouldn't notice.

Safeway signature cafe cauliflower & cheddar soup

We purchased this product as we have numerous time in the past at the Safeway 900 W Deuce of Clubs, Show Low, AZ 85901. I was shocked when I served it last evening for dinner. The soup was very watery plus it had no taste whatsoever. It didn't appear to have any cheddar in the soup and the color was very pale. I don't know if you have changed your supplier but something has changed. Even the label on the product is different. I am now on the fence as to whether or not we will every purchase this again.

Normally your "inhouse" products meet or exceed all competition but not this time around.

Safeway pharmacy

My daughter just had her teeth pulled and was given a rx for pain med and a rx for antibiotics. She stood in line and gave the pharmacy tech her rx and instantly she got a look on her face that was very unpleasant and acted totally rude to my daughter. She then asked if she wanted to wait my day said yes and the rep in a very snide tone it going to be 45 min. 45 min passed and my daughter stood in line again while others were called to the counter! Then was told her insurance was canceled which it wasn't ! every time she goes there they say she doesn't have Ins. She was forced to stand inline again! She was going to pay cash for her rx and come back the next day and get a refund. The pharmacist then stated he needed to call the dentist! To approve her rx! Her dentist approved it and the pharmacist stated that he wasn't going to fill it! My daughter had just had oral surgery and was in tremendous pain! And your pharmacy discriminated against her and treated her horribly! I am so angry and will be contacting our attorneys this was unfair treatment and no one should ever be treated this way EVER!

Safeway bad salmon purchased almost killed me!

- Date of incident: 6/2/2018
- Client number: Same as phone [protected]
- I've been a Safeway client for more than a decade now. This Saturday, i went to Safeway and made a 51.78 $ purchase at Store 2734 including two pre-packed Salmon fillet packs each labelled 50% off, for about 20$. When arriving home, i cooked a small piece of one of them and ate it. Later that day, i sensed a bad smell in the freezer, which turned out to be coming from the salmon. It was distinct despite being in the freezer! I immediately trashed them and placed the trash away since it was a terrible smell and went to the nearest Safeway with the empty packs and asked for a reimbursement, which i got. The branch manager was very helpful and agreed with me and even didn't want to throw the empty packs in the nearby garbage bin since he feared the smell to propagate even though the packs were empty. Instead he trashed them far enough. When i arrived back home, the worst weekend i've ever had was about to start. Vomiting, diarrhea, throwing-out, dizziness were all involved. I scheduled a doctor appointment tomorrow Monday and will skip work for that.
- Requested resolution: I would like Safeway to reimburse me for the direct costs, indirect costs (work missed, weekend activities, ..) and most importantly the inconvenience incurred. I have spent thousands of dollars at Safeway during the past years and deem such reimbursement as being fair. I think 200$ is less than the inconvenience incurred and is a minimum one could ask for. I've purchased Salmon from Safeway for a long time now and never got a problem. I understand it was an unintentional mistake but it did hurt me a lot.

I submitted by mistake a complaint on Complaints Board and this company could not be less professional in handling my request to delete a complaint i wrote. It refused to remove my phone number and name that were added by mistake to the complaint. Their disdain of customer data privacy could not be lower than the worst complaint they probably host. They even refused to share their legal contact to further pursue legal action. They deal lightly with people/values and should not be trusted with handling complaints against any entity.

Safeway unjust accusation and racial profiling

Today I shopped for my groceries through the app/service Instacart because it was down pouring in D.C. and I don't have a car. While picking up my products, my shopper's phone died and he had to go up front to charge it so he could finish fulfilling my order. While there, he was accused of trying to steal the groceries. Despite having his Instacart credentials on him, management got the police involved and put all the groceries back, forcing him to redo the entire shopping experience. For the sake of extreme clarity, Fred is black. This poor guy was out in the rain doing his job with proof on hand while I watched him shop on the app, yet Safeway made disgustingly bigoted assumptions that wasted two hours of his time and humiliated him in the process. My heart breaks for him and I'm reviled by that store's management. They own him at least ten apologies and I doubt he'll get one.

Please, please address how inappropriate this was with that store's management. Apparently they still live in 1950. The address is 490 L St NW, Washington DC, 20001 and this happened around 8:15pm EST on June 3rd.

Safeway entire store

I am most concerned with the direction this store is taking under new management. Variety of product is nil unless you want the signature brand or if there is a choice, shelves are bare or product is moved around to make it seem stocked. Dairy products in some cases are beyond the sell date. The store, under alan anderson, was superb - shelves stocked, choice of product. The deterioration of the store has driven me - and quite a few of my friends - to do our shopping at fry's. It is a drive but worth it for plentiful choices and stocked shelves.
