Safeway - damaging furniture, unprofessional behaviour

Moving with Safeway Movers, Stoney Creek, ON, 429 Dewitt Rd., Unit 1.

Our moving experience with this company was terrible.
First, the movers did not find the entrance of our big apartment building (Burlington Square, Burlington, ON), and came 30 minutes to late.
While I got my estimate done on July 8, 2011, all moving needs were noted, which included two stops (One at the new residence, the second one at a storage place).
It also included detailed instructions that a living room wall had to be disassembled and wrapped for storage.
The sales person assured me that it would be no problem for movers to do that as they are professionals.   Everything would be wrapped accordingly, and I would not have to worry about anything.
On our moving day, the movers arrived 30 minutes late, as they could not find our entrance to our very big apartment building.
They immediately informed me that they did not know that they would have to disassemble my living room wall, and did not know how to do that.  They also did not know that they were supposed to wrap the furniture, and did not bring any bubble wrap as it was arranged.
The movers asked me how they would have to disassemble the furniture.
I had moved many times before, and the living room furniture was moved even safely from Germany to Canada without any damage done.
Movers have never questioned me how to do their work.
I showed them how to unlock the special locks for the cabinet, and even did the unlocking for them.  Usually, I can just relax during moving day.
Only one mover then started to take the furniture apart, even though I informed him not to do so, and that three movers are needed to do that kind of work.
The end result was that he damaged the lower back corner of my living room cabinet, breaking and lifting off part of the wood (We took a picture of the damaged area).
We kindly pointed this out to the mover, and he all of a sudden tried to blame us for it.
As the movers had left my bill unsupervised, I wrote all what happened on the bill, so that the movers could not deny that they had damaged my very expensive living room cabinet.
At that point one of movers started to yell at me not to touch his paperwork because now he has to deal with the consequences, and he would have to explain to the office what happened.
I told him not to use that tone of voice with me and he got even more upset and informed me that they were leaving, and returning back to their company (Half of my furniture still left in their truck. (10:20 am), part of it in front of the elevator on the 14th floor as well as the basement.
We therefore had to call the office (Safeway) and I informed "Brooke, " the secretary, what had happened to us, and we asked the company to send us another crew.
Safeway informed us the they only had this crew available and that they would send us “The very experienced crew” back.
The crew came back at about 10:45 am.
Safeway had informed me on July 8, 2011 that they would wrap all the drawers, and I should safe my time, and not to do any wrapping.
Thank God, I had purchased some wrapping material.  If I would not have done the work by myself, my moving experience would have even been worse.
The movers put all our furniture up-side-down, as well as all the drawers.

As the movers forgot to unload two shelves from my living room cabinet, we had to drive to the storage place and look for them on September 4, 2011.
On this day, we discovered that the movers even damaged one front piece of my living room cabinet, as they did not wrap the items (We took a picture of it).
I had advertised my furniture already online as I had planned to sell my living room wall unit as soon as possible.
Now, I have to hire a garbage truck, and get it thrown out.
THIS MOVE WITH SAFE WAY MOVERS WAS A NIGHTMARE, AND I CAN ONLY WARN EVERYBODY NEVER TO USE SAFEWAY FROM STONEY CREEK.
I also contacted the Better Business Bureau in Kitchener, and complained. Safeway did not even care to reply to the Better Business Bureau, and I was asked to complain to the Ministry of Consumer Services in Toronto, which I did.

Please be careful with this company, and never hire them!
