After I was done eating I realized the the noodle cup were all expired 3 month ago. they need to check the thing they sell, not wait this long (3months). I might be getting sick now. Safeway complaint horrible customer service

The customer service rep would not answer me or help me when I asked for further assistance. He was not helpful at all. I prefer for him to be fired . I asked him to help me (his name is Javier) and he wouldn't help. I asked him to help me and he wouldn't. I'll worked in the customer service field for years. He would not help me, regardless. This is the worse customer service I've experienced in the last few years. I know this is NOT how people should be treated. I would recommend firing him and looking pass the lack of customer service. Take care.

Thanks

Eric

You have a point, I think the employees can get away with pretty much anything because they either don't pay them enough they don't really care... I'll start buying stuff else where, they seem to forget that its my dollars (and millions of others) that assist in actually paying them...

they seem to not care but happy when that check comes.. maybe is a place that safeway actually pays attention to online? BBB?

Safeway general condition of store and quality of meat and dairy products

The store in Half Moon Bay, CA is one of the worst markets I have ever seen. We deserve better than his store. Everyone in the community knows it is dirty, needs renovating and that the quality of produce, meat and dairy items are subpar. There are numerous discussions on NextDoor about how awful it is. It is also way over priced. The next closest Safeway is Pacifica, CA and it's only slightly better than the Half Moon Bay store. I am so mad that I have to drive 30 minutes away or more to get to a nice store. Everyone is going elsewhere to do their shopping. Please give us a better option, renovate this store, improve the quality of our products and make it less expensive.

Safeway non-gluten products

I am so disapointed that the store on 14826 Highway 99, Everett, WA decided to restock/distribute their products so that all the non-gluten products are now scattered around the store, very hard to track down. Also it seems in this process you have eliminated many of the non-gluten products you carried in the past. I wonder if you are aware of the high number of customers that have serious gluten allergies. I have depended on your store to supply a good variety of these products and now - NOT. You have made a black blot on your public relations image by doing so and I, for one, will be finding a grocery store that can provide better and more convenient non-glutton products, such as Fred Meyer. Sorry to go, but medically I have no choice.

I found the very same issue with Gluten Free products at Safeway so I go online or to Walmart that has a nice arranged section with and several brands including Canyon Bakehouse the best bread .

Safeway safeway in quincy california poor customer service and management

I just stood in line at Safeway in Quincy, CA for the last time. The lines at your Quincy store are always too long. And you only have or two cashiers working. The SLOWEST cashiers on the planet. They rarely staff a third counter and don't seem to care how long your customers have to stand in line. 23 minutes today. I was in line for 22 before they asked for a new third cashier.

The management you have at Safeway in Quincy, CA needs to either be replaced with someone who understands work ethics and customer service, or just close the doors altogether. If they can't figure out that they need to schedule to run three cashiers during the busiest times in the day 1100 am - 1300 and [protected], they don't deserve a job.

It would help if you would fix the cash register in the deli area. people who shop at your deli for one or two items have to wait in line behind people with full shopping carts. My food was cold by the time I got it home.

There has been improvements thought. Whoever took over your flower and customer service section is doing a great job. The flower arrangements and decorations look very professional and that are looks great.

Safeway grocery delivery service

Yesterday I order my groceries through Safeway online service. I had scheduled to receive my groceries within a 4 hour window, from 7am to 11pm. It is now over one hour past the scheduled delivery, no response has been given regarding if my groceries are actually coming, and I can't leave my house in case they do. Their customer service line does not answer, and I have no way to contact my driver. This shows a complete lack of respect for the customer's time!
Never shopping with them again! Terrible service!

finally I received my groceries, 1:30h late. The delivery person said they had car trouble, which is comprehensible, but I would appreciate if Safeway added a phone number or a way for the driver to contact the customers (or the other way around), so that we are not obligated to wait around without knowing if they are coming or not.

Safeway deli / customer service

Good evening,
went shopping in the Dunkirk, MD store. Came to the end of my shopping and stopped off at the deli, only one customer before me with two helpers behind the line. Took me over 20 minutes and I could not take no more and walked out of the store leaving my full basket behind. There was a third person that came in and I still was not waited on. I worked in the deli over 30 years ago and I would have been fired on the spot for that type of service.
To be clear, Dunkirk, MD Sunday afternoon at 4:00 pm.

Safeway lack of checkers

I have been a customer at Rossmore Safeway for over 23 years, although I don't live in Rossmore. In the last 6 months, a dramatic shift in employees has taken place. The staff I am used to seeing everyday are no longer there. The store is now ALWAYS short staffed. Last week I showed up on a Tuesday night at 5:00 and there was only 1 checker! There were 14 people in line. I know there is new construction going on at the shopping center, which would lead one to think that staff would be increased, not decreased. The "new" staff seems stressed and and frustrated. They argue in front of customers about there schedule and job responsibilities. The place is a disaster.

Safeway service

Today I stopped by the Clinton branch to shop for grocery. However, there were no shopping basket...none. I complaint with customers service and they told me that at the time there was none available. This is the first time in 30 plus years I have filed a complaint. As a senior I had to limit my shopping to what I could take in my hand. What a shame.

Safeway unethical behavior

At your South Lake Tahoe store there is an employee named 'Miguel' who was rude to me on Super Bowl Sunday that he made me cry. He was written up for it and the very nice manager ended up offering me a $25 gift card.
A couple weeks later my friend came up to Tahoe to visit me and he went to the Safeway here to get some food. When he came back he had no food..he said there was an employee named Miguel that was being so mean to an elderly lady with a disability; he told the man to stop and left his food in the store with him ; after he was told by this man that it was not his business. My friend said he would never go there again. I asked what his name was: he said Miguel!
He also said he did tell someone at a register that Miguel was very rude and hostile to this woman; telling her to not go through the self-check out if she cannot figure it out. He did not say it nicely either.
This is the same kind of behavior I encountered when I tried to go thru the self-check out that Sunday; he told me very loudly that I could not go through with any alcohol ( one beer) and he humiliated me by loudly telling me that I could "call the manager" if I wanted. But I didn't until he kept embarrassing me in front of other customers, by being so loud about it.

How can a Safeway have someone as an employee that verbally abuses customers? How and why is he still allowed to work for such a chain as Safeway is? I really couldn't believe it when Miguel stared at me after another cashier called the manager for me over the intercom; he immediately stared at me with a big smile on his face, but in a hostile manner. I told the cashier and she laughed. Unbelievable. I am afraid of this mans hostile and agitated personality; he seems to be on drugs or something. I do not feel safe to ever be near him again; but I need to shop at Safeway! Why do I have to deal with someone like him at all; when I am spending my money there often? Raley's customer service is so much nicer and professional; but they often cost more!
As for my friend, he really needed those groceries he had in his cart (and so did I); if he does not eat enough he gets Pancreatic attacks; it really ruined our day and he could have gotten deathly ill due to being too upset to buy his groceries. He was very angry that Miguel acted like that and even argued with my friend about it.
I thought Corporate should know about how an employee like Miguel is treating those that dare to come through the Self-Check Out stand. He seems to especially like being rude to white- haired older women like myself. I personally felt like he was being hateful to me; because he was. I wonder if he was being racist because I am not Hispanic and I was alone. I was being kind to him, but it did not help.
The manager who wrote him up on the Super Bowl day was very empathetic towards me and professional; it made me cry to know he cared. My friend saw him mistreating a woman sometime around Feb. 19th.

This store needs to make customer service a priority and fire people who drive away customers and give 'Safeway' a bad name. I have never encountered this problem my whole life at any other store; especially Safeway where they are usually great at being nice to customers. This is a serious problem when people are bullied by a short, stocky, angry, loud-mouthed man who likes to pick on women!

Safeway dogs in the store and in shopping carts

February 24, 2018 at 6:30 pm.

In spite of numerous signs saying no dogs allowed except service dogs, there are many small dogs allowed in all Safeways, but this is the one I use most. This evening a woman had her small, barking, poodle in the cart as she shopped, when I got to the checkout stand (because no one was in customer service) I asked the checker if we could now bring dogs into the store and he said no. I pointed to the woman behind him and he just shrugged and said there was really nothing they could do about it. I said, "If I bring my great dane and lab in is there going to be something you can do about it?" He said yes, I couldn't do that. I informed him that they were all the same species and at least my dogs would not have their butts where people put their food. I stressed that I was really tired of this ambiguity due to size and the health issue of the dog in the cart. He agreed but said they couldn't do anything. I approached the woman outside the store and asked why she took her dog in and she said she was told that she could as long as he walked. I said, "You had the dog in the cart, where I, and others put their food." She said that was ok because she had a bag underneath him. I informed her of all the signs saying no dogs and said I didn't appreciate her dog being where my food went and maybe she could follow the same rules the rest of us have to next time.

This is the first time I have tried reporting this to the store employees or have approached anyone directly, but enough is enough. This really is a health (and safety if the dog bites someone) issue and if it takes a bunch of us continually complaining or going to stores that are capable of enforcing their own rules then so be it. I have been a customer of this store for over 17 years and am very disappointed in their lack of response.

I'd support any store that allows dogs inside. On the other hand, sure wish they'd post a sign that states, "Please keep your children tied up outside."

Safeway store manager

I tried using my Google Pay gift card at Safeway off Canyon Road in Puyallup Washington customer service today and when the cashier called for the store manager (Jay Betts) he walked over and without stopping or looking at me his response was to call the 800 number because the system wasn't set up for gift cards, and then walked away. However the cashier Angie was very helpful and patient and able to figure it out and showed great customer service. I will not be returning to that store.

Safeway customer service

I have encountered an employee named JoAnn a number of times in the Safeway store at 4800 Baseline Road in Boulder. Each time it seems I have done something wrong.
I have been chewed out for not putting my cart back in the corral. Not taking my receipt. Ringing up produce in the self service area and much more.
Today I go in and I see JoAnn manning the self service area and my heart sinks as I have a russet potato in my cart. I figure that I can sneak out without being disciplined but oh no. There was no code on the potato and so I just kept putting in PO in the search but nothing showed up. Here comes JoAnn (Yikes) she yells at me for not putting in Baking Potato and I should have known that. Then I have to approach her to get my Monopoly tickets. Apparently I was standing on the wrong side of her cash register and she said "move over to this side"...all of 3 feet difference and she could easily have handed me my tickets from the other side. Then I got the "Have a nice day" said in the tone that means exactly the opposite.
I don't know what her problem is as the store was not busy at all today but she is constantly on the attack. Most other employees in that store are pleasant and helpful and I know dealing with the public can be hard but JoAnn needs to change jobs.
Thank you for listening
Brenda Kasper

Safeway gas points

During the week of February 11 through 17 we had gas rewards of 3+ points. This showed as such via the store website.
Shopping yesterday (2/23) would have raised that point total for use to 44+ points.
Upon going to the gas station after shopping, I was told I only had 1 point.
Wondering how this could be but questioning the clerk provided a very unfriendly remark. I went to the pump and it gave me a 2 point ($0.20) discount. Gas posed was $3.049 and the pump receipt shows I paid $2.849.

It appears that:
A) Someone may be buying gas using my phone number and getting the discount.
B) The clerk knew this, that is why the sour attitude when questioning him.

I have retained both the store receipt and the pump receipt as proof of this situation. I wish I had a copy of the website showing the stated points during the past week.

I would appreciate contact regarding this situation and hope for a remedy which will prevent such thefts/mistakes/system errors.

Safeway sexual harassment

As you can see by my Loyalty Card number, I am a very frequent customer and I spend a lot of money in your store on 20th and Washington in downtown Denver. I want you to know what happened to me today is now up on my facebook page and getting a lot of neighbors upset.
Walking into the Safeway this morning to get some things for my kids' school. See a man by the door about to ask me for money.
His opener: Hey fine thang!
And the rest of what he says is a blur, because in that moment I feel deep disgust, embarrassment, and anger as I am forced to decide between 3 options, pretend I'm ok with it and say hello back, ignore him completely. or tell him off.
I ignore him knowing it will still be taken as a [censor] move, and as I walk into the store I realize I am already afraid to leave and possibly have to buffer the comments he'll throw at my back as I rush to my car.
That's when I see the security guard, so I go up to him and say: Hey the guy outside made me really uncomfortable and now I'm afraid to leave, will you ESCORT me out when I'm done?
Well the guard immediately goes out the door to see who I'm talking about and is looking around like he can't see anything so I go back out too, feeling emboldened with the guard there, and the man is still standing there acting like he can't see us.
So I say: Hey I don't like it when you tell me you find me attractive, I don't know you and it's intimidating.
He says: What? I didn't mean anything by it! It was a compliment!
And I say: Well next time keep it to yourself, women don't like that.
And I go back in to shop.
When I'm done I pass the security guard again and ask: Is he still out there?
The guard says: No, but ma'am I gotta tell you, you should really take that as a compliment.
And my blood is immediately boiling all over again!
I say: No, I shouldn't have to take it at all, it makes me feel like an object, I feel objectified and intimidated when strange men on the street think they can comment on my body.
He says: Well it's not against the law.
I say: Neither is being rude but that doesn't mean you should be rude to people!
He says: Well this is the world we live in and you need to get used to it.
I say: No, I don't want to live in this world, I want to change this world for my daughters' sake. I shouldn't have to feel this way. That's not on me, that's on him, and as a security guard, you should have my back, so thank you sir, good day.
And as I walk away he yells: You need to take a chill pill!
Of course, because if a woman does not want to accept her subordinate status in life she is a hysterical [censor], another SEXist affront.
So I yell back: That's rude also!
And he yells: I don't care!
So I'm wondering if this security guard represents Safeway's view toward the millions of women that spend their money in your stores and if you've taken steps to train your male staff members on how to best serve and protect your female customers. Because the #metoo movement is looking for a business to boycott and I'd be happy to recommend yours.
Hopefully this reaches the highest offices of your corporation and your leadership has the progressive foresight to take a stand on this issue and make it national and very public so there's no doubt in anyone's mind that what happened to me today is not acceptable to you.
Thank you,
Stephenie Falcone
