Safeway customer service

My sister and I walked into 16th and Potrero Safeway the same one we have faithfully shopped at since we were young. As soon as we entered we were told to get out we asked why because we had not did anything nor have we ever, and security said the night manager is putting us out. So we asked to speak to him whose name is Renee a Latino male. He walked up to us and began yelling at us as we asked why he was kicking it out and if it had anything to do with our race. Which he admit it was also that he supported Trump, we personally do not care who you decide to support but that does not permit anyone to kick out customers based on race. Nor walk up hostile on two young ladies even if we were not customers and just strangers on the street. My sister began crying because our lives we lived in San Francisco and love this city because of it is diverse. I have recently experience racism within this city being called racial slurs by strangers, but to go into a business I have supported for years and will continue to support and be told I am being kicked out because of my race is unacceptable. Thankfully the security guard and another young man working that night apologized and helped assist us. It is because of them I felt somewhat okay about returning but I have never experienced such discrimination and would like for something to be done to a night manager that is openly racist towards customers and yelling at young women. Safeway floral

I was just in Wilsonville Safeway asked about buying balloons at customer service. The gal that helped me didn't know when the florist would be there and told me the bakery dept would help me. I asked bakery and they called produce. No one came. I checked out the few items I wanted to buy and told the checker I wanted to buy some balloons but no one came to help. He began telling me that someone called in sick and he doesn't know why produce didn't respond. And that was the extent of it. I guess we can't expect good customer service any longer. At my job if I don't know how to help the person I find someone who does. It usually always makes for a happy customer. I'll just wait for the Dollar Tree to open at 9.

Safeway the useless 20-cent "reward"

It's an actual complain site. Can be used for various companies.

Here's my latest:

"I live in a small town -- Salida, Colorado -- where there are two choices for buying groceries, Safeway and Walmart. I prefer shopping at Safeway for a number of reasons, but, one of the most important reasons is the Safeway card and the "Just for You" prices and other specials.

Up until a few weeks ago, Safeway would send out e-mails with special rewards like "Buy $20 worth of groceries, get $2 off." This WAS nice, as it meant that careful shopping would get me a 10% discount on my shopping bill.

For the past few week, this promotion has been replaced with
"$0.20 Reward : Special Offer 20¢ Per Gallon Gas Reward When you spend $50 in one shopping trip."

This is ludicrous. First of all, as a single person, I'm not going to spending $50 a week on groceries in one place. Second of all, with gas prices as low as they are, 20 cents off per gallon isn't worth spending more money at Safeway. Thirdly, as a retired person, I'm not running around in a gas-guzzler buying gas every week. But, LAST BUT NOT LEAST, THIS PROMOTION IS TOTALLY, ABSOLUTELY, UNEQUIVOCALLY USELESS FOR SOMEONE LIVING IN A TOWN WHERE SAFEWAY REFUSES TO NEGOTIATE WITH A SINGLE GAS STATION WHERE THIS "REWARD" COULD BE USED! (And, yes, I'm "shouting" in caps because I'm very, very upset!)

My option for using this "reward" is to drive 60 (!) miles to the nearest gas station. I have expressed this complaint to Safeway in surveys several times, and they have NEVER "responded within a few business days" as their survey website implies they will.

Why can't the advertising, promotions and/or web-gurus give people a choice? 20 cents off per gallon of gas OR $2.00 off of a $20 purchase? And why are the promotions stuck at buying $50 in order to get a discount? Do you really think someone who breezes in and spends $50 is going to care about getting 10% off? How about varying the amount like you used to? Or making it $3 off of $30?

However you slice it, the fuel discount as a reward is totally pointless as a "reward" when shopping at a store in a town where the closest gas station is 60 miles away.

Safeway cut of filet mignon

As seen in the photo one cut is great and other is horrible. I am very disappointed that the horrible cut was evening considered a filet mignon. The cut is following apart and no contains marbling . I would consider this lesser cut of meat . I hoping that Safeway will address the issue promptly and Please let me know how you will rectify this complaint.

Safeway nabisco ritz crackers

On the 10/19/17 I purchased a Nabisco Ritz Crackers, Honey Wheat ‑ 13.7 oz box at SAFEWAY STORE 2892 WASHINGTON DC.
I found a worm on the brown plastic packaging for the crackers, searching the bag I found a hole so I discard that one. Now I had the last package of crackers that I opened ate all the but the last 5 biscuits, wanting to have it with some Humus i carried the packed with me to the refrigerator and took the humus and grab a cracker from the pack and swipe it, grabbed another cracker to make a sandwich and found an worm wiggling around.. imagine my disgust after eating all those crackers prior to this discovery, I throw up. This is unacceptable. I am at a lost for words right now.

I will attach a photo of the worm on the crackers and i will even save the crackers for you.

Safeway meat department

Raw chicken breasts were packaged in such a poor way that the wrappings came off and the whole tray of raw chicken dumped into a pile at the checkout stand. This store has no customer service whatsoever so I walked back to get another package. I couldn't find one that wasn't splitting open leaving gaps exposing raw chicken. I decided to not buy the possibly contaminated raw chicken breasts and will probably not buy raw meat from this store again. Unacceptable hygiene.
There is never any regular half and half available either. I've tried asking for help and that took over 20 min. Just to get the product, let alone stand in the huge checkout line. I have shopped at various Safeway stores and this one is a pit. It's horrible and lacks basic customer services. Could it possibly be in this condition because it's in a predominately Hispanic neighborhood?

Safeway safeway pharmacy dept in greenway shopping center breenbelt md

I came to pick my sons medication and the tech was super rude to me. The dr called his meds in at 3pm and I arrived to pick up at 7:22pm and that's the time they started filling the prescription. I picked Advil and a box of trash bags to pay for everything together and he became very argumentative and loud because I picked 2 items to pay together. This tech ( James) shift time Friday at 7pm store # 107 need more training to talk to customer. Also the pharmacist on duty just ingnored the whole situation. I been coming to this locations for the past 10 plus years sorry to say this but service at this location with tech and their attitudes are getting worse. This pharmacy will start loosing customers soon. Hope some can do something about training tech and pharmacy staff how to talk to customer. I hope that this complaint is taking in consideration to avoid future prombles.

Safeway in store bakery

I purchased a blue berry bagel at the Brentwood store on October 25, 2017 but after biting into this item, I realised that it was actually a chocolate bagel instead. Lately for some reason the two bagels look exactly alike.

I returned to the Brentwood store where Customer Service Assistant, Kimberley, was able to provide me with a full refund, but it was the inconvenience of having to return to the store that was of some concern to me. I suggested to Kimberley that the supermarket should continue differentiating between the two bagels and not have them looking alike.

In addition, I purchased a wholemeal bagel upon my return to the store but for some reason this item did not have the usual texture of a bagel and tasted more like a crusty bread instead.

There have also been occasions when the supermarket has added just too much salt to its in store bakery items and with no labeling on the outside of these items, it is not always easy to know the actual sodium content. a

Safeway manager of 56th street safeway tacoma wa 98404

First let say i have been shopping at this store for over 20 years and had a problem.Yesterday oct 23 i went to get some items when over the loud speaker i hear will the person in the kia in handicap parking come to your car.i went and the manager was there and we went to the car and he said a custumer turned me in, i knew who it was because she was the only in the car next to me ive never seen this lady before. i told the manager who would not give his name . he said she saw me hit the guardrail next to my spot he showed me where this supposedly happened the dent was at most 1". then
he took me to the side of my where he showed me where i got hit i told those places were made back in may, but he would not believe me, he said he would check out the video i said thank you.i had to by the store and greetly him happyly he said maybe i shoud not happy the lady had lied and i told her i did it and that there was a 2nd witneess. i said they r not telling the truth. i was he told to stop i am 60 years old and no he then told me i was barred from the store.i will take a detecter test cause i bet the video disapers. i would like to get a call from someone my number is [protected]

Safeway apple pay

The Apple Pay at multiple registers don’t work but they have the verifiable capability on them. The cashiers do not even know what Apple Pay is and they look at me crazy every time I come in to pay with it. I had to go upstairs to my car to grab my wallet only to be led to another cash register where their Apple Pay worked. The managers didn’t help me at all to go to where I could give my recommendations. I came on Monday, October 23, 2017 at 17:12 pm. My transaction number is 23/74. Safeway customer service/online survey

I shop at Safeway (Shadle, Spokane, WA) 3-4 times a week, spending thousands of dollars a year. The customer service is awful, lines are ridiculously slow and other than a couple of long time checkers no one seems to know what they are doing. I have encountered rude checkers, I get overcharged on a regular basis, the store is poorly stocked, baggers put heavy items on top of eggs and bread and no one is EVER in a hurry to get people through the line. Today after returning from Safeway I decided to complete the survey per instructions on my receipt. After indicating that I had experience working at a grocery store I was immediately disqualified from the survey. So...you care about getting feedback but you don't want feedback from someone who knows about good customer service in a grocery store? I am irritated and offended! I am a regular shopper at Safeway out of necessity alone- it is very close to my home. I definitely do not go there for the excellent, friendly service or great prices---I will be rethinking my choices. Shame on Safeway - hard working, paying customers deserve better ! Awful, just awful.

Safeway unethical behavior - profiling by security

Hello,

Today (10/14/17 at 18:30pm) I shopped at Safeway Store #785, 850 La Playa, San Francisco, 94121. I am a person that smiles at everyone wherever I go. So as usual, I smiled at the security guard who was covering the store at that time. He was not impressed, and did not smile back.
I went about and did my shopping, and then as I was checking out, I noticed that same security guard with his cell phone camera pointed straight at me. Mind you, he was not more than 10 feet away from me so he did this in a very obvious manner. I kept staring at him--first, out of disbelief and then out of anger. I stared him down knowing that I knew he was trying to take a picture of me at my most vulnerable and fixed position--at the cash register. He kept changing positions within that same 10ft. area, trying not to look obvious, but he was MORE THAN OBVIOUS as the camera was still pointed at me no matter how he fixed his body. After focusing my attention on him for what seemed like an hour (but was really about a minute) he finally left and departed quickly down an aisle. I then asked the cashier (named on my receipt as Melissa Li), do security guards at this store normally take pictures of customers? She was taken a back a bit as if she both knew and didn't know, and said 'don't think so', and briefly looked around the stored as I finished inputting my debit card information.
In the 8 years I've lived in San Francisco, this is probably only the third time I've shopped here; and as a black woman I am disgusted at my third impression. In the climate of the world today, it is easy to point fingers and say this is racism and that is prejudiced, but if that wasn't racial profiling, I don't know what is. I gave this security guard no reason to pay that much attention to me by taking a picture of me; and for me, it was very clear what his intentions were.
Again, I was there at 18:30pm and the security I would describe as Asian of Chinese descent. If you do not do something about this matter, my next course of action will be to find this security guard doing the same thing, take a photo of him, and then take it to the ACLU. In fact, I think I will still give them a heads up. This is extremely unethical behavior and I do not plan to shop at Safeway again until this is resolved. Thank you. Claudia Wallen

Safeway a worker

At Safeway in mill valley store #788 1 Camino alto mill valley ca 94941 I purchased 2 items yesterday and the cashier named Mary charged me more money then the items cost, she purposely didn't give me my receipt, and yes I did put in my club card, today I purchased the same items and paid with card but this time she did give me my receipt. She pretended to scan the items yesterday, from the look at her reactions today and yesterday it is obvious she is doing this on purpose to acquire a certain amount of money in her register to take home every night. I am worried she is doing this to the elders in the community because elders are really easy to trick and this community is mostly the elderly and retired.

Safeway carts

The carts lock up and a rude alarm sounds when you are trying to leave the store. It is very difficult for an elderly person to deal with. No one ever came to help. I hate the trashy dirty Ukiah store anyway and this is just icing on the cake that I have to stand in the doorway with a cart that won't move and an alarm blaring and no one even bothered to move toward the door. I finally wrestled it out of the way and picked my stuff up out of the cart. What a jerk move on the part of safeway stores to do this to people. I vote with my checkbook and I will shop elsewhere. There are a lot of choices.

Safeway unethical behavior/overcharged

I went to Crown Hill Safeway 10.06.17 and the check out cashier Lani was very rude to me. I had a coupon for Rezunit Pure Ocean and the coupon stated buy 4 and get 2 free. So I bought I bought 4 of them (Rezunit). I gave her the coupon and proceeded to pay for all my groceries. The household items seem high so I got my receipt and said you didn't take the co7upon off and she had already started on the next customer and I said the coupon says buy 4 and you get 2 free. She looked at the receipt and coupon and said no I took it off and I said no ma'am you didn't. She next got the coupon and I said see its buy 4 and get 2 free and you didn't use the coupon. Well I also noticed that she hadn't even filled in the square on the coupon for the price off of the 2 products total which the limit was 2. 20 but my items were 2.00 and she hadn't even written in the amount and she did get an attitude with me because she owed me 2 dollars. I said didn't say anything to her for I just wanted my 2 dollars back. I said can you call the manager and I rolled my eyes and she pointed out to me that I don't need to roll my eyes. First there my eyes and second she should have taken my 2 dollars off and she was loud and rude about it in front of the other customers with me standing on the side. She said to take it to customer service and I said can you call the manager and met the manager at customer service and guess what? I was right! She had not taken the 2 dollars off my order and she was very rude on her customer service! The manager gave me the 2 dollars back and I said that she needs to get talked to about her attitude and I didn't say anything rude to her and I just wanted her to see that the 2 dollars had not been taken off. When and if I return to the Safeway I will NEVER go through her line again. I don't appreciate the attitude she had towards me. I was just doing my job because every little penny counts for me in saving money.

Safeway worst customer service ever

I started shopping at this store, Germantown MD, about 3 months ago, I go every Sunday with my fiancé and two kids. They have the carts, that my kids INSIST on sitting in, that have the plastic two-seat add on; the straps on these seats have been broken or missing since I started shopping here. Every week, I have made them aware of the issues with the straps and every week I go in and not only has nothing been done to fix them but they are still put out there in the entrance like they are in working condition. Well this past week, 10/1, I found one that looked like it was in working condition; well, only one side was, the other side the bottom buckle has been ripped off. Since I have a 6 year old and a 2 year old, I really only needed one buckle so I decided to use it. As I was going through the store my 2 year old half falls out of the seat; automatically assuming that she was messing with the belt, I told her to sit down and not to touch it. Ten minutes later, as we are walking down another aisle and I am pushing the cart so have a better view, she leans forward slightly and the buckle explodes open and she falls face first onto the floor. She was not touching it at all, the buckle was broken; just not as clearly broken as the rest of them otherwise I would have noticed! After I make sure she is ok, and calm her down, I went looking for a manager. I explained to him of what happened and pointed out all the times I had already said something about the buckles. He just says "ok, well l eave the cart here and I will take it to the back", I again explained that it was not just this cart but ALL the carts with the seat add-on; he says "ok, I will look at them", just like everyone every other week has said to me. He did not ask if my daughter was ok, which she clearly wasn't because she was still crying, her face was red, and starting to bruise! He was more worried about the balloon display he was working on. I obviously could not leave the cart there as it was full of groceries I had not paid for, my two kids, and I still needed to get my groceries to my car... I have no idea if anything was done at this point about the carts.
The following day I contacted corporate... they have proven to be just as helpful. I was put in touch with the store director because no one filed an incident report the day before, as they should have. After telling him the whole story, he said that they even keep buckles within the store to be able to fix the carts, so I am not sure why it had not been done for all the months prior that I have brought it to their attention. He then said he would have someone get in touch with me by the end of the day; that was Monday 10/2. As of Wednesday 10/4 I had not heard from anyone so I called corporate back at about 8 am. She could not find any record of my call, so she said she would take my information again and send it off to the store to contact me. Still, nobody from the store or corporate has contacted me back at all.
Luckily, my daughter does not have any broken bones, concussion, or anything serious and will heal fine. However, this is the worst display of customer service I have ever experienced; not just on the level of the employees within the store, but also the director and even corporate! To not have any communication back from them what so ever and only the first representative from the corporate office asked how my daughter was doing, they obviously do not care for their customers WHAT SO EVER! I will only be returning to this store to see if the seat buckles have been fixed or not, otherwise I will be finding another store to shop at!

Safeway service

I was waiting for deli service in the Berkeley, California Safeway on Shattuck. A deli manager/supervisor named Maria told me she would be with me shortly, which was fine with me. Soon another worker Tran is her name I think came over to help me. I told her what I wanted, but asked her if she could slice me salami as the salami that was already cut was to thick. Tran instantly rolled her eyes and exhibited much attitude. I politely told her it was fine I would rather wait for Maria to help me. At that point Maria started responding to Tran who was saying, "I just wanted to know how thick you wanted it". So Maria says, "she just wants to know how thick you want it". I said no she was rude before she said that. Maria refused to serve me so I went to the manager who came over and had another employee serve me. I told him I intended to file a complaint.

Safeway parking lot issues

The parking lot at Safeway in Hawthorne Nevada needs to have the parking
spots painted, you can't tell if you are in a spot or not and people are just parting any where, This is getting to be out of control.
The issues I see are going to case problems with traffic because you can't see where to park. Maybe the store could use inmates to paint the parking spaces
so it can be seen.

Safeway deli & customer service, store clutter

Today, Monday 9/25 I shopped at Safeway in Santa Rosa, Ca located on Mendocino Avenue. I have had issues before, but decided to complain because I like/ or use to like shopping here. I don't want to travel across town. This store is in my neighborhood.

My first encounter was with the deli department. I didn't get the gal's name, but she was extremely rude to me and the customer behind me as well. i got the feeling she hated what she was doing and takes it out on the customers.

The deli counter itself was dirty and looking behind the counter it was bad.

This store is very crowded, and very busy. They have displays set up all throughout the store in the isles. It makes it very hard to navigate around. To be honest, the vibe of that whole store was bad. I don't know if they were being audited, but every employee we encountered was un-happy. Unfortunately, this was not a isolated incident. We tried (with no success) to locate the manager to express our feeling in person. We were blown off.

Safeway deli department

On 9/19/17 I was at your Safeway store in Lakewood WA. I was at the deli department waiting to be served. I was the only customer there. The person working for section seen me waiting. She walk pass me and waited on another person who just walk up to the counter. I informed her that I was there frist. She than gave me a sideway glance and said I KNOW. I stood there open mouth and couldn't believe this. The person she was helping told her she should help me first. I believed this to be a racist situation since I am black and the other customer was white. The employee is also white.I talk to one of the daytime managers, he told me he would talk to her. I felt like this wasn't a one time event. I also feel that more need to be done about this.
