SafeLink Wireless waste of money

Safelink is a complete rip-off... We low-income folks cannot afford to pay for minutes for a phone that takes an entire minute off of your account for 2 seconds. I will be purchasing (Which I can't really afford, but monthly after the initial purchase is a better deal) a phone from boostmobile, which offers unlimited talk, text, and internet, for $50/month, $10 more than I was paying for the outrageousness of safelink/tracphone minutes... Complaints to safelink did nothing to solve the problem

What an idiot? Prefers to pay $50 a month rather than get a service that is free.

SafeLink Wireless bad service

I filled out the form on their web site for the free prepaid phone. Printed and faxed to the number listed on the form [protected]) along with 8 weeks proof of income. The form had my name, date of birth, address, last 4 digits of my social security number. The pay stubs also had my name and complete social security number.

Contacted them a months later at he above number. It seemed like i reached their call center somewhere in India. I could not get a straight answer to my question - what is the status of my application? Have you received my information via fax? How long does it take to process it? They had me in their system. The rest was doubletalk. I lost it with the representative and decided to call another time hoping to reach someone in the states. Another month later i called and again they were able to find my name but could not answer my questions. Same story - doubletalk again. They spoke english- sounding words with the Indian accent.

I wonder where all the personal information goes. Is it re-routed overseas for processing or "processing" and what government sponsors this lifeline program. So far i have not received a free phone or any explanation.

SafeLink Wireless safelink minutes

On January 29th I bought a 60 minute card for my phone. I tried to put the code for the purchased minutes in via the phone and the menu referred me to the website I put in the code on the website and it told me to enter "code 30" on the phone. I got my 60 minutes. Then when Feb. 1 st came around, when Safelink is supposed to add 68 minutes I got nothing. I got told I got my minutes on the 29th of Februaury. I pointed out the illogical statement that was because Safelink only loads on the 1st of the month. Safelink never gave me any minutes beyond that I paid for. They are scammers marketing themselves as Samaritans, scamming consumers and the government. What these people need is a class-action suit.

SafeLink Wireless theft of service

Safelink Wireless is guilty of taking tax dollars and stealing paid for service. ERGO, THEFT OF SERVICE. Customers can get a replacement phone if it stops working but not if it is lost. Seniors, mentally challenged customers, poor and otherwise disabled are not allowed to lose a phone, but allowed to brake one. If they lose the phone they
lose the minutes. If they brake the phone they can fight like I did for three weeks to get three months owed to me.

Since I had already used my one phone replacement, I purchased one to replace my second "broken" phone for which I had to be on the phone an entire day to get the time owed, left over from five months. Then I was refused my January minutes because they included the January in the time that I was already owed in December.

I see here a CAUSE OF ACTION and I am establishing a web site to mobilize.
FIGHT THE POWER. http://ftp.zero2infinity.biz CLASS ACTION with punitive
damages.

My family had to walk away from Safelink wireless. First, they never did send my son his phone and had him stuck in only approved status, not enrolled. We finally called them and they told him that he had to wait for another 30 days so they could correct their computer system. Then, my daughter tried to redeem her free minutes. She never got them. All they gave her were her text messages. She called and talked to them with my help--their excuse was that she had already used up her minutes for the month. Excuse us? How could she use her minutes up when she never got them? My husband tried to redeem his minutes. He started out with his 500 minutes. Made two phone calls totaling one minute each. Next morning he woke up to zero minutes left. He chatted with Safelink. Their excuse? The same as what they told our daughter. Mind you, my husband is not a huge talker. 250 minutes is all he needs for a month. 500 is double what he needs. To say that he went through 500 minutes in less than 24 hours is so absurd it is ridiculous! My son finally cancelled his service with Safelinik because they were taking too long to send him his phone. My daughter ended her service with them to go to a prepaid service that she pays for out of her own pocket because of her disability and the long fight she was having with them. Now my husband is the next one to go. He doesn't have the patience to fight with them. Way to go with keeping your customers, Safelink. And way to go helping people who are low income get and keep phone service. What a joke. We are still going to have to pay $30 a month out of our own pocket to have reliable service because none of the lifeline companies out there are worth anything. I have checked the alternatives to Safelink and they either don't offer enough of what we need or they operate off Sprint and we don't have good Sprint coverage in our area. Safelink was the best for cell service, but when they steal your minutes or they don't send you your phone, then you still have no service and you are forced to pay for service. There is one cell phone company out there that is not associated with Lifeline but has extremely affordable rates and we are going to that company. At least we will be treated with respect!

I truly believe safelink is a front for identity theft. I had to file a complaint with the Massachusetts Atorney General along with my local AGA office.
I have sent my proper documentation several times thru both email and fax. Every time getting an email confirmation that items were recieved. No one has ever seen my documents their, ever? I ask to speak to someone with answers and get refused time and time again. I
All I get is theirs a "guy" in the "back office" who receives all documents. Neve a name, employee title or phone. Shady people, very shady people. These people on the phone do not care about customer service at all. After over a total of 4..35 hours and counting on the phone since 5-26-15, now it is 6-7-15 and I still have nothing. The only thing these people are good at is apologizing an saying sorry! If I never heard those two words again I would be o.k. with it. After all, it's lies that come from their mouths. Every word is scripted on how to not care about people. I have been hung up on four times, given phone numbers to no where. All lies. Safelink is the absolute most disgusting company I've ever dealt with in my 45 years of live! MOST DISGUSTING EVER.
All of this and no one anywhere is helping? I know I am not the only one going thru or has gone thru this.

This Company has a bad reputation, I lost my phone and have applied for a replacement. I was told that I would only get ten (10) minutes of the over 500 minutes transferred to the new phone. After many hours and days on the phone, I was told the policy is a government rule that " if the phone is stolen the minutes are stolen". I plan to pursue this issue further and complain to every agency I can find, these people are rip-off and con artist.

I applied for the free phone in August2009 I waited the phone never arrived I called and got the taped options several times finally I went through all the options and discovered a live person in the option of tech support I gave the confirmation number and was told the phone was on the way this was September2009 In October I called again and was told the same thing I then asked to speak to a supervisor and was told that somebody already had a phone in this apartment this supervisor was quite rude told me to fax him all kinds of proof of residency .I asked for an address and was told that there was no address I did not feel comfortable faxing this person any personal info and also wanted to file a complaint I called back in November this person slipped and gave the name of the person who claimed he lived in my apartment and that he applied for the phone I then began my own investigation and discovered the person actually does not live in the building at all his elderly mother does this person also took packages sent to my son who is mentally impaired By the way he is the one the phone is for and he is the head of the household This apartment is leased to him as of November 2008 this person applied for the phone in January2009 In January2010 I got a letter from Safelink which I assumed was for my son only to discover it was a recertification for this person I then read in the local newspaper for being arrested Now here is the thing I live in Apt6, his mother lives in Apt8, I then approached the realty office and was informed that he should not be living in his mothers apartment because she is the only person who should be living there she is on a subsidy, now Inoticed he is on the mailbox of Apt10 I can not understand how this fraud can steal from a disabled person and how Safelink can tell me I need to do all this extra info and never asked this lowlife to prove his residency, here we go into June2010 and this still is not resolved By the next complaint I make is going to the Massachusetts Attorney General Richard Cushman Lynn MA

I have tried to help this elderly woman with getting her Safelink cellphone replaced. I have been on the phone from 11:55 am to 2:17 PM only to get nowhere. They promised Mary ann a new phone last week and it should have been here this week. Well it is Nov. 19, 2009 and she still has no phone. I called Safelink at 11:55 am and I was then transferred to...

My mother has been waiting for a free phone from Safelink Wireless for nearly two months. She has never received it. I have an application number and when I call to follow up on the phone a recording comes on with choices not including a real customer service representative. Thank you, Rosie Suarez
