Ryobi Tools This is ridiculous

We bought the battery for the lawn mower last year. But when we called when it died, they told us the warranty (that was 3 years), had expired. What? Did they start the warranty 2 years before we bought it? Then what's the point? Shall we just start a company with warranties and then start every warranty when we put it in our warehouse for a few years, and then sell it to the customers and tell them it's already expired when they try to get a refund or replacement? This is what they're doing. Ridiculous.

Ryobi Tools 33cm one+ lawnmower and batteries.

Hi, a couple of months ago I purchased the
Ryobi ONE+ 18V RLM18X33B50 Cordless 33cm Lawnmower Starter Kit, including 1 x 5.0Ah battery through the Homebase website. Ryobi themselves were also running a promotion to get 1 x 4.0Ah battery, which I completed and received. I've tried using the lawnmower today to mow my back lawn (not big, under 10 meters sq, grass approx 5 ins long) and have so far had to charge both of these batteries twice. I hoped to use one of my other 1.3Ah batteries while my larger batteries were charging but they were too weak to start the rotor blade. So, I'm stuck with a half mowed lawn and two batteries on charge again. Considering that they take about 4 hours to fully charge, it looks like this simple garden task is going to take a couple of days, especially if I want to do the front lawn too (approx 4 meters sq). Previously I have had no issues with Ryobi tools but if I'd known that this product would have so underpowered I would have just purchased a cabled mower and saved myself about £150. I'm really frustrated and disappointed with this purchase.

Ryobi Tools Pole saw

I am totally frustrated with Ryobi. Bought a pole saw in November. Used less than five times. Now battery charges but lasts only two minutes. I went back to Home Depot with receipt. They did nothing as it was past 90 days. Told me to call Ryobi, I called Ryobi and left my phone number as instructed. No response. I have e-mailed Ryobi - again no response. You can't call their help line as they never answer. I spent $153 for a bunch of junk. Just had to share. Thank you!

Ryobi Tools Battery operated chemical sprayer

Item is under warranty. The item won't work. Ryobi gave me a repair site in another state and when I called they said they do not work on this sprayer. I called Ryobi back and after staying on hold for twenty minutes they said the servicer should do the work if I take it to them but they are refusing. They gave me another repair service even farther away and said that I need to pay for shipping. I asked to speak to a manager and they refused to do that.

Ryobi Tools ryb 1.2 corner cat sander

I Purchased this Sander at Home Depot and a extended warranty from Home Depot Purchase date 4/06/2019. Now when I turn it on the Motor start to smoke and vibrates slowly, the sander has only been used about six or seven times. I took the sander back to Home Depot 9/20/2019 to see if I could get it repaired. When dealing with the customer dept. at Home Depot and asked about repair or replace I was given a Printout of there policy concerning the extend warranty and that it only would go into effect after Ryobi Three year warranty ran out, so I needed to send it to a repair center for Ryobi which was my responsibility. After asking another casher I was told the Machine rental dept at Home Depot could help me get my product fixed or sent to be fixed. I want to the rental area and the person behind the counter Yes we do send out Ryobi products to be fixed BUT only after the Roybi warranty had run out and the Home Depot Warranty was in effect, and if I wanted the sander repaired it was AGAIN my Responsibly to send out to a Service Center. I call the provided phone number to your custom3r service from your Web Site and was that a MISTAKE. I talked to a Women named Warna Ext. 1223 and was told by her to take it to Home Depot as I tried to explain what I was going thru, but She would hear none of it and placed me on hold and called Home Depot in Victorville. Of course the Service said all I had to do was bring it to Home Depot. I'VE done this Twice and got the First answer I got from Home Depot again, In other words Home Depot to me IT'S YOUR PROBLEM NOT OURS YOU SEND IT. Again talking to Warna EXT. 1223 at Ryobi I get and angry Wanda who will not give me someone I could talk to. No supervisor or manager or anyone else, although she did give me a place to sen this sander off course something I must do if I wanted it fixed. I guess this is how Ryobi does business, and I ask why do I have so many Ryobi tools.

Ryobi Tools 38" battery powers 48v riding lawn mower doesn't move in forward or reverse

7/8/2019 My 48V Ryobi lawn mower RY48110 (Serial# JY16527D010030) just makes a clunking noise when I put it in forward or reverse and then step on the throttle. It doesn't move. The unit is plugged in all the time and I show 100% battery life. No one close to my location wants to do the Warranty work on my 38" battery powered lawn mower because of poor Service from Ryobi. I hope this is not true. I've been informed from one of the Service centers that my transaxle is broke. Part# 994920001 I am willing to replace it myself if you would ship me the part and I would send the old part back. I need to mow my lawn please.
Purchased 9-25-2017 from Home Depot-East Green Bay, WI 54311 (920) 465-8237

Ryobi Tools repairs / customer service

I have a number if ryobi plus one tools, all registered - however Three of them ( the auger, the chemical sprayer and the router ) all are in need of repair . All are under 18 months old, the auger is barely 4 months old .

I called ryobi support who told me to take them to my local home depot store for repair .

Home Depot kept them for 3 weeks before informing me that they didn't do repairs on these tools

I called Ryobi support back who said Home Depot needed to update the list of what they repaired and that now I needed to take the 3 tools to my local repair center.

I did that this morning and was again told that they didn't repair any of these items there .

I then called Ryobi support back . My first call got dropped half way through so I had to call back and go through it all again . I called back and the operative claimed that none of my tools were registered and then she transferred me without warning to a new person so that I had to go through everything all over again

The last operative was a xcwwsingly ruse and unhelpful and amongst other things, told me I should have called them from the store as they ‘should' have accepted the repairs

Apparently my only option now is to drive the tools to a repair facility in Brooklyn ( about 60 miles ) and waste even more gas ... or to send the 3 tools at my own expense

The overall attitude of the very one I spoke to was deplorable, rude and unhelpful

They really gave the impression it was my fault and that they had little interest in helping me not did they show any remorse for all my wasted trips to places that I should never have been sent to for repair in the first place

It seems to be almost deliberately difficult to get a replacement tool or any decent customer service

Given the issues I have had, and the amount of ‘down time ‘ from the tools being inoperable and the money I have wasted on pointless trips to ‘repair facilities' that don't ( and apparently never did ) repair these tools I think I am done with ryobi and will not be purchasing any more of their products

Ryobi Tools multi-tool package

Only used the plunge cutter tool once, and quit working. When I went to take the battery one side of the connector prongs fell out. Called customer service and was told to take it back to Home Depot, they failed to tell me I needed to take all of the tools back in order to get an exchange. Called customer service back and was offered nothing but I'm very sorry. Not as sorry as I was. Spent about 5 hours on the road, 2 trips to town and 1/2 a tank of gas. Was going to buy a Ryobi table saw that day, but changed my mind. Not impressed with the service, hoping it was only a defective tool, not all the tools in the package!

Ryobi Tools gas jet fan blower - ry25axb

This product was bought by me on 12/19/16 at a HOME DEPOT in Cumming, GA. I used it several times about twice a month over the summer months of 2017 and 2018. It stopped working completely at the end of September 2018. I heard that this is a DISCONTINUED product and cannot be fixed. I have bought RYOBI products in the past and found them to be very reliable, except for this. I want to complaint about the poor quality of this !

Ryobi Tools ryobi ry141900 pressure washer part unavailable.

I purchased a Ryobi RY141900 pressure washer in May of 2018. I used it twice both for a short period of time. When I tried to use it the third time the detergent nipple assembly blew off the pump and had split the brass threads. This is the part that the hose from the detergent tank goes into at the pump (Part# [protected]). You cannot run the pressure washer without this part. Every where I checked told me the part was no longer available. Even Ryobi stated it was no longer stocking this part. Now I have a pressure washer that is only a couple of months old and I will never be able to use it again. There goes $200 for nothing. I should use it as a door stop just to remind me never to buy a Ryobi product again.

Ryobi Tools battery operated accessories

This year I have purchased the following Ryobi products from Home depot.
2 Hand Held Skills Saws -all Plug in
1 Sander- Plug in
1 Jig Saw - Plug in
1 Battery operated saw
1 Battery operated Drill 18 volts
2 Battery Chargers for 18 Volt Battery

The plug in items work fine.

The battery Items must have defects because they will stay charged. Example; the Handheld Drill once the battery has been charged, it will lose power after drilling in two screws( Not Good)

The Handheld Battery skill saw will not hold charge long enough to cut through one piece of 2 by four.( Not Good).

All of these items were purchased new . All battery charge items have defects and will not hold charges.

I would like to return these items and replace them with all electric plug in items.

Your response is appreciated

Ryobi Tools warranty service

Ok, I know Ryobi tools aren't meant for jobbers, but rather home users who don't need to depend on them working consistently; fair enough. But the warranty is just awful. Tried to get warranty service for a ONE+ 18 volt charger & battery I bought from Home Depot, but HD told me I should just throw it away, that they wouldn't handle it. So I called Ryobi, and they said no, that wasn't true, that I should go back to HD and get the receipt, that they would honor the warranty. Went back to HD and did get the receipt, but they still refused to honor the warranty, said it was Ryobi's problem. Called Ryobi again and was told this wasn't true (maybe I was lying just to be difficult?), but I could instead go to one of their service centers who would replace it for me. I thought I was finally getting somewhere...except that the closest service center was 2 cities away. Still, since I was allegedly going to get a replacement unit, I made the drive.

When I got to the service center, though, I learned that they didn't stock replacements--never do--and would need to ship it back to Ryobi, who would then ship the replacement to my front door; I would receive it in about a week. They would email me to let me know when it was shipped. Ok, fair enough.

A week went by...nothing. So I contacted them, and they told me they hadn't yet received the replacement. I thought it was to be sent directly to me, so I asked about that, and was told no, it would be sent to them, and they would ship it directly to me. Well, ok.

Another week went by and I received an email from the service center, which stated, "Ryobi has changed their policy about shipping items to the customer, and also the claim approval process. I have the items in, but I need to wait for the system to show approved before I can release them. This should happen either tomorrow or Monday. Once the items are ready to be released
you can come to pick them up." So now I need to drive 2 cities away again, to pick up parts that were supposed to be sent to me directly?

So I called Ryobi yet again, and was told this was all wrong--there had been no policy change, they never ship parts to the customer. When I asked why my warranty claim was being held up, I was put on hold while the girl called the service center. Ten minutes later she came back and told me I could drive up there and pick up my parts.

I'm not sure I believe this; I fully expect to drive up there and be told there has been yet another change, that I'll need to walk to South Carolina to get my parts. Obviously, none of the parties involved agree on anything, and everyone seems quite intent on passing the buck. It appears the goal is to get me so frustrated, I just go out and buy a new unit and forget about the warranty replacement. And I'm willing to do that--but not another Ryobi. This time it will be a Porter Cable or some other brand. I strongly suggest to anyone reading this: do the same. Don't bother w/ Ryobi tools. Spend a little more and buy something that works, and that has a decent warranty. Save yourself the grief.

Ryobi Tools this has been the worst purchase I ever made so far

I purchased a gas trimmer from Fred’s department store in Augusta Ga. about a year ago. This has been the worst purchase i ever made so far. The trimmer never stays running the strips always pop out of the trimmer. I spend more time rethreading and starting this thing more than i do trimming. I wish that i could give this back and get my refund but i know this want happen, so all i can do is let my friends know not buy one. I even tried a universal threader it would not fit your trimmer. In my belief this product should be taken off the market and customers given some kind of rebate to purchase a better trimmer of ther choice.

Ryobi Tools inferior quality good

I bought a Ryobi electric lawnmower from Makro in Vanderbijlpark on 19 November 2011 after the salesman convinced me that it was an excellent buy due to the fact that it has a 2 year guarantee. After only using it for the second time, smoke started pouring out of the motor. I took the machine into Makro on 8 December 2011 demanding that I was not happy with the product and insisting that I did not want it. They claimed that there is only a 14 day return or refund policy in store and that they would need to send the machine into Ryobi for repairs. I was not happy about this at all, as the machine is of an extremely inferior quality. I contacted Ryobi via email stating all of this upon which I received an email reply that their workshop manager, Johan would contact me the next morning, which he never did.
I have phoned on several occasions, leaving my contact number after being informed that Johan is "not available".
I am getting the "run-around" from the company and getting very frustrated. I am now sitting without a lawnmower, my garden is starting to look like a forest and nothing is forthcoming. Shocking after-sales service. So much for the so called 2 year guarantee when a product does not even last 2 weeks!
What I am concerned about too is that if the product initially only performed twice in a period of two weeks, after it is "repaired" is it going only work for 2 weeks again and will then be sent in for "repairs" again?
I would prefer to be refunded and to purchase another brand.

Ryobi Tools shoddy product

Purchased a VERY EXPENSIVE ($199) RYOBI 4 Cycle grass/weed trimmer in mid 2009 -- over periodic use, the unit spews HOT OIL when operated in traditional trimmer positions -- RYOBI quickly replaced it, but the replacement TRIMMER does the same thing -- furthermore, the trimmer does not start and run properly anymore -- I have asked RYOBI for a FULL REFUND because this is a DANGEROUS, NON-PERFORMING product that should be recalled -- they have denied my request, even though they have a 2 or 3 year WARRANTY on this SHODDY product.

Dear Karen,
Ryobi Is a cheaply made product with no quality control. The units therefor are also very cheap. I have to disagree with you though as $199 is very very inexpensive for a 4cycle weed trimmer. If you would like to get a good trimmer that will last and start for you every year you need to invest in a Stihl or Kawasaki Commercial grade weed whacker. Expect to spend about 3-5 hundred dollars but also know that this investment will outlast 10-15 $200 Ryobi Products.
