Rural King customer service

On 1/15/2019 I ordered two items, a pair of trail shoes and wrench set (order #RK-[protected]-1-01). I received the package on 1/19 and found that the wrench set was not included in the package. I immediately called and informed RK's Customer Service Department. They took the information and did mention that the department responsible for resolving the issue was backed up due to the Christmas returns and it would likely be 4-5 days before getting the wrenches reshipped. On 1/25, late in the day I called RK Customer Service again to check on the status of the case. I was informed that the department responsible was still back up and it may be another week. On 2/2/19 I again called and received no status and an indeterminate date as to when (if ever) it would be shipped. It seems no one in Customer Service has any authority to even cancel and/or credit the order.

After reading reviews about this company, I now understand that this is SOP for the management of Rural King. I will use my credit card company to resolve this issue and make my purchases at other online companies.

Rural King rural king 6500e generator that I need parts for...

I have talked to your customer service dept. And they just made us sick. We bought this generator from you in 2012 the day before thanksgiving. I can't even find out who made this, the only markings on it at all are: ohv 13hp / 188fed [protected] / engine says: 389cc, engine family: bcsps, 4392xa twc, there's a tag with : 07-21-2011 on it... That's all it says. On the battery it has the numbers 2013040300 scrolled on the top it, besides that number it's just a black battery with nothing else on it. Not even your manual that came with it has any information about where to get parts or who made this generator! All I want is for someone from rural king to please tell us where I can get parts for it, and who made the generator. My email address is: [protected]@aol.com thank you very much, steve & debbie helton also, we bought this from your columbus indiana store, at $459.95 and we've been very happy with it until now. If I can't get the correct parts for the generator, then it is useless to have. Again, please help me, someone must have some good information for me...

Rural King sale ads

The current ad lists a 12000 lb xtreme winch for 199$ puppy training pads for 15.98 a 500 lumen flashlight for 6.98 None None of these items are in the store. This is common practice with rk These were just a few items i was looking for . I m sure this is only scratching the surface they are always having anti freeze on sale but none in the store Until the week after the ad is over

Rural King pellet stove

I purchase a pellet stove from rural king in Ashland ky on october 12. 2018
When i got it home the flex pipe for fresh air intake was not with it, i called talked to shawn he didnt have a clue what i was talking about, , it took week to find one which costed me 95.00 dollars every store told me it came with stove, , the stove still didnt work well it was wired wtong had to take back down re wire, , the stove worked for werk the thermostat went out and it kept spitting out pellets the auger wad bad or something, anyways i called shawn back at rural king told me bring it back hed put one in back for me to trade it out get all the way there, , guess what he didnt do it, , then tried to insist that i buy wood burner, , well now i have 2 holes in mt wall no stove no heat and its 37 degrees, , no sympathy at all, for a manager that was wrong, , you completely lost my respect and my business, , went to tractor supply purchase a better stove, , and daniel worked with me because i was strapped on money because i never thought i would be treated that way, , customers just listened to shawn shook their head and said get your money go else where, , very bad business, , i will never step foot in your store again, , freezing in ohio no stove 2 holes in wall, , big joke, , shame on your manager for doing what he did

Rural King weekly ad and csr

Firstly RK has been advertising a 32 fun safe for weeks that no store within 150 miles has. Its a complete gimmick at this point. Having said that i called the online store to see if they could look up inventory i may have missed. I also mentioned continuing to run and ad for merchandise that hasnt been available was disingenuous at best. The old man who answered the phone was a rude grouchy [censored] who told me it was my problem to call around and not his. It was a total old man " get off my lawn attitude". What a dick! I hung up. I can shop elsewhere. Rural King will get no more of my business and i will do my best to see that other do as well.

Rural King wrong information in online ordering

We drove 60 miles out of our way to buy a 31" wood wagon wheel #906465 at the Monaca, PA store on October 24, 2018. The internet said this store had two in stock but they couldn't be shipped to home. Our store in Butler, PA hasn't had any of these for quite a while and we need it for a wedding so we drove to Monaca. Couldn't find them so asked at the service desk and were told they "hadn't had any of those for quite a while." She also mentioned that this happens all the time.

I am very upset about this. Also, what I don't understand is if there are 50 some in a store in Ohio, why can't one be transferred to the Butler store. Or, why don't you spread the inventory around?

Rural King rope

Lady was very rude yesterday she got upset with us cause we wanted to buy 100 ft.Of rope on a spool and she rudely said no u can't have any off of this one cause its in wrong place .then she proceeded to holler to other employee walking by ..expressing to him that they needed to get more help out on floor ..she was very frustrated I went to find another employee to make sure they really couldn't sell or if she just didn't want to help us they sent her back over and she again went off saying no we was not getting it on wrong shelf took spool off shelf turned around set it on shelf behind her in which it definitely didn't belong there and walked off

Rural King sporting goods (guns)

My husband and I were in line to look at a couple of guns that were in a case, there were two employees working behind the counter, one talking to the customer and the other searching online for a different color gun for the her. We were patiently waiting, then another employee that had just gotten off work there walked up and the guy behind the counter walked right over to her and started showing us guns. In my opinion with 5+ gears customer service experience one of them should have come over to help us, since we were next in line, not completely ignore us and go to an employee that had just gotten off. They didn't even acknowledge that we were there. I dont usually complain and I usually have a great experience at this store, but it was disrespectful.

Rural King incompetent customer service

I Placed an order with Rural King online - Submitted the order and was approved and paid via Paypal. 9 Days went by and I still did not receive my item. I went online to check the status and indicated not shipped yet. I emailed their customer service department and was informed that their fraud department had stopped my order for some reason. It would be nice if they bothered to try at all to contact me within the 9 days to inform me... I checked my Paypal account and they were Paid in full for the item 9 days ago. When I sent them the Paypal documentation to show that the item was paid, they said they would issue me a refund which I did not state I wanted, I wanted the item that I had purchased because it was on sale for $50 off. When I went back online to try to re-order the item, it amazingly was now full price. I tried to contact them again to get them to honor the sale price and they told me Sorry, it is no longer on sale. I called to physically speak to someone and the guy on the other end of their customer service sounded like he could barely stay awake, After all of my explanations he stated that there was nothing they could do, the item was amazingly out of stock online as well, I asked him if any stores had the item and he said yes but they would not ship anything. This company seems like it is run by a bunch of imbeciles. I actually feel that the item was just out of stock all along, If I had not contacted them I would have had a $200 charge on my Paypal account with nothing to show for it. Beware and stay away.

Rural King wrongful termination

I was an employee of Rural King store #73 for a very brief time unfortunately, I enjoyed working there everyone was very nice, my co-workers and of course the customers. I myself had been a long time customer so I thought why not work here. I was hired pretty much right away and worked a little over a month before things went south. On 8/8/18 I had to call off due to a family emergency (my dad took a heart attack the day before and was having surgery), dad was released from the hospital the following Friday 8/10/18 I worked the day after his surgery that Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Unfortunately on Sunday 8/12/18 dad had a massive heart attack and was life flighted to a Westmoreland hospital, I left mid-shift (on my lunch break) after finding this out and notifying the manager on duty Chris. I was off 8/13/18 when dad was again life flighted out to a Pittsburgh hospital I stayed with him the whole time surgery was once again scheduled for 8/14/18 after getting him stable. His surgery was scheduled for 8:30 that morning I had to work at 3:30 and since it was only to be a 2 hour operation I had plenty of time to be at work, unfortunately there were many complications and he never got out of surgery until almost 3pm leaving me no choice but to have to call off once again, I didn't have to work again until 8/16/18 when I clocked in I was called to the office and told that due to the call offs and on one day my til was short $5 and over $8 on another I was being terminated, Seriously your telling me that my dads health is not considered an excusable call off? Anyway I'm glad I found this out now before I worked there any longer because if this is the way this company treats their employees than I don't want to be a part of it now or ever my dads going to soon be 71 I don't know how much more time I'll have with him especially with his failing health and heart being so bad so I'll never regret my decisions in being there when he woke up from both his surgeries instead of being at work. I'm not one to just call off work for no reason so when I do know that it's usually a very good one I've went to work in the past very sick, but still went. I just wanted everyone to know what kind of company Rural King really is and I hope that Mr Alex Melvin sees this and makes some changes in the policies for other employees there in the future,

I was an rk cashier for one year most of the time managers were ok but the job didn't pay well and then they contracted out and paid new employees 2 dollars more than existing employees made and wouldn't give the existing employees a raise to appropriate standards. I'm an hr manager working on my mba now and this was unethical. But still you should have noticed your manager you needed a block of time off due to family emergencies but as for cashier issue they should have retrained you before termination. Qualifiable Eeoc issue.

Unfortunately they have a right to expect an employee to be dependable. They cant shut down the store because they don't have dependable employees. What you should have done is talk with your manager and see if he would allow you to take an extended amount of time off instead of trying to work here and there. That would have given them the opportunity to plan for your absence. If he would have denied you, you had the option of filing for flma family medical leave act which would have given you the time off you needed and your job would have been secure except for the 2 mistakes you made at the cash register. That in itself is reason to let someone go.

Rural King unauthorized credit card charge

I just activated my Cooper tires reward for $70. But it says I am a negative $96.04. And that i used the card at Rural King. I tried to use the card there and it was rejected because it hadn't been activated. Therefore I paid the full price of the transaction $166.04. on 07/19/18
Did you pay Rural King the $70?
Do I need to get a refund from them?
Or do you need to issue me a new card?
Please advise, because I have called twice and can't get through to a person.

Rural King internet postings

old and out to date postings should be taken off the internet. i was going in one of your stores and a couple of guys were coming out just a complaining. one guy said to me dont buy anything from them. he didnt know me and i didnt know him. so i asked why and he proceeded with his rant. he seen the cost of something on the internet and he drove to the nearest store to buy the product. only to find out it was an out dated posting and that price was no longer good. so the price i seen was on the internet too so i figured that was probably no good so i turned and left also. thanks ron gamble

Rural King arrow commander chd1030 shed 10'x30'

I am not a very happy customer. I have just started using Rural King products after we moved to an area that had a store nearby. I was looking for a shed to used for my boat and noticed the one mentioned above for $900 and some odd dollars. I knew this was a great deal because these sheds run around $1900 usually. I assumed it was a clearance price. I purchased it, putting it on my credit card. I saw the Visa transaction on my online banking site and waited for its arrival.
When I purchased it I was told that I would get a confirmation email. I waited but none arrived. I finally called after several days and was told that the shed had been placed on back order and that it would not arrive at my home until July or so (this was around 6-8 weeks later at the time). I was asked if I still wanted it with the wait being so long and I said, "Yes, of course." I waited and I noticed that my credit card statement that arrived in the mail did not have the shed transaction on it. I thought it could be because of the wait.
I called your customer service line and was told that the whole transaction had been cancelled. I asked why was I told that I could wait before by email but now, on the phone, I am being told the whole purchase is null and void. The man on the phone said that Rural King ran out of the sheds that were being sold online at that price, and that once it was realized there weren't enough the transaction was voided followed by an email being sent out notifying people what happened. I told him I never received an email and still haven't received one regarding this cancellation. He said that it was sent, but that simply is not true. I have few emails sent to the email account I have on file with your company.
I let this go but then asked him why wouldn't Rural King honor the deal we made online--- when the new shipment arrives just send it along? He said that Rural King wasn't sure when they would receive another shipment of these particular sheds. I knew now what had happened. I knew that I was being played for a fool. I knew that Rural King most likely owns a web site not programmed up to speed and it allows multiple sales of a product they don't have enough of. Instead of honoring these sales Rural King plays it quiet and waits for people to grow discouraged forgetting the whole matter.
I don't know how I could be told by one representative that I will be getting a back ordered shed, but then the one on the phone tells me I am basically out of luck. I don't like to be told by your man on the phone that you may not be getting in any more sheds knowing full well you would be. Your site sells them right now for $1, 623.99 down from $2, 319.99 once you add it to your cart. When I was looking they were around $1, 950 and when you added it to your cart it dropped to around $925.
I like your store but I refuse to go back into it until this is taken care of. I would like the shed I purchased to be back on the table at the sale price that I purchased it at. I want to say it was roughly $925, plus $206 for shipping. I could be off a few dollars. I can get my bank to send me all transactions on my Visa if you require proof. I debated on pushing this any further but after talking to my father-in-law he was adamant that I reach out and give Rural King a chance to make this right. Thank you.

Rural King mower canopy

When I ordered the canopy for my new lawnmower there was never a weight of the product mentioned. I recvd the order and the box was so heavy and bulky that it was hard to pick up and move. I got a scale and it was around 48lbs. I pulled out the plastic canopy part but nothing else and realized it was way too heavy to put up high on a zero turn mower and mow slopes like I have. It would be very unstable and certainly not safe for my daughter and wife who actually use the mower.
Contacted Rural King and asked about the weight, the lady did not know and could not find the weight. She had to call the manufacturer and ask. I told the lady It was too heavy for my mower and needed to return. They did not help with the return. It was so heavy that it was going to cost $65 to ship back and I used my Fed Ex account and it was reduced a little.

They recvd the merchandise and I finally got a credit which was the original price minus 20% + the shipping of the unit to me in the first place. I have never heard of this. Why would they charge the shipping to me of the product plus 20%?
The product was returned in the original package (box) and was never unpacked and I paid the freight back. I had to absorb 20% of the cost and the shipping to me + the freight back to them when they purposely leave the weight of the product off of the technical description, because had I seen that weight, I would not have ordered.

The cust service was VERY RUDE and EXTREMELY SHORT with me and unrelenting, so I turned to my bank card for help. Out of a $207 charge, it has cost me $95 and I still had to buy another style for $307 (not from them) making my cost $402, which only weighs 30lbs, a big difference in the center of gravity for the mower.
WILL NEVER BUY FROM RURAL KING AGAIN.

Rural King customer service on a air conditioner return

I bought a air conditioner on the 11 installed it and it didn't even work, we had it uninstalled and repackaged, we went to rural King in owensboro where purchased on the 15 and the ladies Janet and Brittany at customer service argued with me about how we had returned it on the day after purchased, if so I said how do I have the a/c and the receipt, they where very unprofessional at their job, and I still haven't got my refund on my air conditioner that I have paid 300.00 for and it don't even work

Rural King customer service, wait time

Last several times getting feed at Rural King, I've had to wait unreasonably long for help loading on to cart, then wait again for loader help after checkout. This week, after returning to front desk to get someone to help in that department, I waited and no one came. I loaded the bags onto my cart, and now my back is hurting from twisting with the weight of the feed.
I will shop in the future at our local co-op where you simply back up to the dock, go to the desk and pay for your order and they load it.

Rural King bedford, indiana store

The air conditioner is not working in the Bedford, Indiana Store.
It is miserable in there for the employees let alone the customers.
If you would replace the air conditioners you would have less call ins. No one wants to work in that heat!
Customers would increase in volume and they would stay in the store longer and buy more. No one wants to shop in that heat!
Replacing the air conditioners would pay for themselves in no time.

Rural King mower

Purchased a 3000 Husquvarna and bought extended warranty, I will never use the year I bought had to take it in 4 times manager of the Tiffin Ohio store informed my husband that they found nothing wrong with mower, he even lied to us saying his mechanic mowed 2 hours with it, well it has an hour meter and it was a half hour. SO after driving 71 miles one way to take mower in 4 times cause we enjoy wasting gas money and time with 4 unmowed acres to dink around and get it back messed up worse then when we took it in. I originally called the store we bought it at and was told we had to take it there well Husqvarna has a 3 year warranty and after 4th time and manager being ridiculous I called husqvarna and they told me I could take it right here in town we live in. It was in shop 3 weeks and today we got it back, the gasket seal was bad, carburetor was full of dirt from this and muffler was bad, and pulleys for driver arms were over tightened. The guys at local shop were knowledgeable and did a great job first try to fix it. We bought our mower in Tiffin as at time was closet to were we lived, now we live the distance away but if they were good at fixing what I bought from them wouldnt mind the drive but insulting us because you and your staff are incompetent at your Tiffin, Ohio RURAL KING is not acceptable and believe me we tell everyone we know in Findlay Ohio and also Lima Ohio to steer clear of Rural king unless you enjoy a 3000 yard ornament

We took are lower in to get a part out on and the Mower Man said a twenty min fix, kept it two weeks, said he had to order a part, a week later said it was fix we went and paid for it, and Mower two days with it, and it stop, had it looked at Man lied, he didn't even put a part on, Rural King said was having problems with him, have called them, Six times said they would get us a part and a gift card, Still no one will give us a part of even talk to us says they will take care of this, will never go back there, it's in Muncie Ind! Next call is channel six news, We are both handicap Shame on Rural King

Rural King chicks and rabbit

We bought a beautiful black female rabbit. The sign said the rabbit had papers; the sales person and the front desk staff could not find the papers. The rabbit was sold to them by a young lady. I was told to call back the following day. The manager would have the name of the seller and the papers. I called and spoke with the manager, she did not know where the papers were, I asked if she could give me the name of the person who brought the rabbit in. She was not comfortable doing that, so I asked if she could call the person and obtain the information for me. I called back the next day and was told they did not have the name of the seller, but the seller would need to come in to get her payment for the rabbit. I have not heard anything for a week. The store bought a rabbit from an individual, the rabbit has a tattoo, it is is advertised as having pedigree papers and the store can not find the name or the phone number of the rabbit seller who doesn't receive payment until the rabbit is sold. Who does their invoicing? I was buying a rabbit for a grandchild to show in 4-H. How does this get fixed? We bought the rabbit on May 26th and the store does not have any information on the seller or the rabbit and it is now June 21st.

We also bought 12 Cornish meat chicks that somehow grew into Leghorns! They are of no value for our 4-H meat pen project! They are going to reimburse us for those, but it was to late for them to correct the error.

It was a bad day at Rural King!

I brought some rabbits in for them to sell 5 and I bought them in two weeks before mother's day and still haven't seen any check in the mail for the rabbits and its 06/06/2022. They said I should get one before it had been a month after taking them in. I called a week ago to tell them I didn't get one and they said they would call back and still haven't heard anything. Plus I asked them if I should get a paper or something saying I sold them to them and they said no we just send you a check at your address. Seems odd and like I said still no check.

Rural King falling in parking lot in ohio - liability claim denied not good

I fell in a rural king parking in march 2018 after a heavy snowfall with advisories all of ohio into indiana. I made an incident report there with 3 employees, slipped and fell forward landing on left knee, bruising, bleeding, hard to walk. One of the employees told the other 2 at my vehicle to watch out for the hole in the parking lot and not fall. Your insurance co. Denied my claim. I had to go to the doctor, was off work 2 days and went thru the hassel of getting this info for your claims company and still denied. I called the company in ar they are rude, won't reexamine my claim even thou I stated to them hole in parking lot covered with snow and ice. I will never shop there again. This is not right at all. You know you can win with a liability co in ar. Rural king is al fault!
