Roxio Media Creator 10 / No Effective technical support
The last three versions of media creator have been very bug ridden. I purchase it for Classic Creator more than anything else, decided to see if all of the other features actually worked. This has proved challenging. After over 20 on my time, I finally got most of the features to work. Their tech support was totally ineffectual.
Their free tech support is by e-mail, with live being offered if you pay extra. My experience has been that they have not solved a single problem for since Creator 8. Such tactics as loading the EMC 10 service pack first rather that reloading the original bug infested software seems to lost on them. My most effective way to solve problem was to search on offending file names in google. I also found a lot of great user information in the forums. Everytime I updated Roxio, I received back basic recommendations such performing a clean reload. They seem to be unaware of the fixes on the Internet. In sum, this is the standard for terrible technical support.
In the future, I will purchase dedicated applications and move away from Roxio. When I attempted to bring the problems to the attention of customer relations, I received no response.
This is definitely a buyer beware product.
