I hired the services of Roopa Agarwal, Advocate, with office at B-105, Above Central Bar Library, Diwani Court, Lucknow, and residence at 109/5G, Model House, Lucknow 226018, to represent me in a case I had filed against Ansal API at UP-RERA. She charged me Rs 28, 000 for the complete case. The payment was made in March 2018 at her chamber. However, on the very first hearing at UP-RERA office on April 28, she was absent. Nor did she send anybody else. She is not attending to my phone calls nor replying to messages from me on WhatsApp. I have been told on the phone that she is out of station and nobody seems to know when she will return. As I am based in Noida, it is inconvenient for me to go all the way to Lucknow to meet her. I want a refund of the fees that I have paid to her, and also a compensation for the inconvenience caused to me.
I don't think that a characterless and unprofessional person like Roopa Agarwal will take any sober advice such as that given by J. S. Agarwal and B. K. Agarwal. Roopa should be fully exposed through various consumer complaint websites.

Nice to come across this page. I too have been cheated by Roopa Agarwal. She charged me Rs 75, 000 for a full case. She attended just three hearings and after that she started sending a very junior person who was hardly able to speak in the court. When I asked her to attend my case, she said she does not need any advise from me. When I insisted that she should attend to my case, she stopped attending any hearings. I had to hire another lawyer and she has not yet returned any money to me. Thankfully, she did not make any sexual demands from me.

My complaint against Roopa Agarwal is very very similar to Mohit Sinha, but the only difference is that she asked for sexual favors. Frankly, I obliged. But that helped only for a short while. In the end I had to hire some other lawyer, losing all the money that I had paid to this characterless person.

My experience with Roopa Agarwal is similar to Naresh Chandra Sharma's. I obliged Roopa Agarwal when she asked for sexual favor. However, she stopped attending to the hearings of my case after some six months of my entrusting her my case to handle. During these six months, thankfully I lost only Rs 10, 000 to her, because I was able to give her sex in lieu of money. But after six months, I realized that if I need to win the case, Roopa Agarwal was not the person I needed. So I hired another lawyer.

After reading the material about Roopa Agarwal on the Net, I thought of going to her instead of to a brothel. I approached her, made advances to her, but to my disappointment she did not respond sexually, but kept on insisting that I pay her at least Rs 25, 000 for the sham case that I had said I wanted her to fight for me.

When looking on the Net for a lawyer fighting for the cause of women to take up my own case, I stumbled upon these postings. I would have made the mistake of hiring Roopa Agarwal's services had it not been for these postings.

Why is this woman Roopa Agarwal still allowed to practice law when her characterless, greed, and wickedness have been exposed so fully on the Net? A thorough investigation should be conducted into her character and professionalism, and if the allegations against her of sexual misconduct and unethical professional activities are found true, she should be barred from carrying on the legal profession.

I fully agree with J. S. Agarwal. Roopa has brought a very bad name upon the entire Agarwal community. As president of Agarwal Community Forum, which has over 50, 000 members all over India, I advise Roopa Agarwal to return the money she has fraudulently charged to her clients and bring some ethics in her dealings with them. Regarding her sexual exploits reported in various postings on different complaint sites, I would say that it is her private affair but she must not involve her customers in any way. Roopa, I give you one week to settle your disputes with your clients. I need to see postings from your clients on this board that you have refunded to them the money you have fraudulently charged them. If you don't do it then I shall circulate these postings to all members of the Agarwal Community Forum.

I wish I had read all these postings about Roopa Agarwal, the Lucknow-based cheat of a lawyer, before I filed a case using her services. She kept on asking me for money on some pretext or the other even after I had made the "full and final" payment of Rs 75, 000. I bore her nonsense for six months. But when she started asking for sexual favors, I snapped my relationship with her. I have got evidence that she had asked me for sexual favors. I am approaching a lawyer to find out how Roopa Agarwal can be brought to book and how I can recover my money.

Good work, Mr Shuvendu Roy. I myself have horrible experiences with this [censored] of a lawyer, Roopa Agarwal, who has no character, either in personal life or professional life. I don't want to go into all the bad experiences I had with her. But to sum up, first, she charges money fraudulently once she has tacked a client to her, and second, she asks for sexual favors when you are unable to pay her when she asks for money. If you don't oblige, she stops attending the hearing of your case. This disgraced woman should be exposed to the fullest.

Thank you for your comment, Suresh. If you look at Roopa Agarwal, you will know why I opted not to screw her. Her mind is unimaginably dirty, with all her crookedness and wickedness coming to the fore in every act. And her body is even worse.

It was interesting to stumble over this page about experiences of clients with Roopa Agarwal. My experiences with Ms Roopa Agarwal have been as bad as those of these clients. She charged me Rs 71, 000 as "full and final" payment for the case she was fighting on my behalf. The payment was made by cheque in her office at B-105, Diwani Nyayalya, Lucknow on 24th January 2018. She attended the hearing twice. She did not come during the third hearing. When I questioned here about her absence, she said she was surprised that nobody attended because she had asked her junior to attend the hearing. During the fourth hearing, again nobody attended. I told her that I was losing faith in her. She bluntly replied, "Go to another lawyer in whom you have faith." I asked her to return my money after deducting an appropriate amount for the the two hearings that she had attended. She refused to return the money saying that it was I who had lost faith in her and had disabled her to attend the hearing any more because of losing faith in her. Can somebody advise how I can recover the money from Ms Roopa Agarwal?

May I use this forum to make a complaint against Roopa Agarwal, Lucknow-based lawyer with her office at B-105, Diwani Courts, Lucknow. I had marital problems with my husband and we started living separately. I approached Roopa Agarwal on September 23, 2017 at her office seeking legal help in getting monthly monetary support from my husband. She charged me Rs 75, 000 for the whole case. However, I could sense that she showed least interest in pursuing the case. It so transpired that after six months of persistent efforts of my family members and my husband's family members, my husband and I started living together again. I was truly shocked when my husband informed me that during the period of our hostilities he had come to know that I had hired the services of Roopa Agarwal and had approached her to ensure the case did not go in my favor. Roopa Agarwal charged him Rs 30, 000 for her services.
When I asked her to return my money, she replied there is no question of paying the money back. She is an absolutely characterless person, , with no professional ethics or discipline. I am sharing my experience here so that innocent people who might want to deal with her can have second thoughts.

Thank you, Victoria, for sharing your experience with Roopa Agarwal. I am also a victim of Roopa Agarwal's greed and dishonesty. Even after I paid to her the full amount of Rs 55, 000, as agreed upon by both of us, she continued to ask me for money on some pretext or the other that were never discussed before. And when I told her that I would not make any more payment, she stopped attending the hearings of my case. I had to get another lawyer without getting my money back from Roopa. To say that Roopa Agarwal is greedy and dishonest is rather a mild description of this person, who is steeped in wickedness from top to bottom. I hope others will be spared of the kind of experiences that I and you had to go through.

All the greed, wickedness, and characterlessness of Roopa Agarwal described in these postings pale into insignificance if I were to describe my experiences with her. I met her on 4th November 2016 at her office in B-105, Diwani Nyayalya, Lucknow. I paid her Rs 25, 000 as the first installment, out of a total of Rs 55, 000 for the full case. Thankfully she did not ask me for vakalatnama charges, standing charges, and other charges that she levies upon her hapless clients. After the second hearing, she called me to her chamber. When I went there she asked for a sexual favor. I was aghast and dumbfounded. I told her that I am only 23, and she seems to be well over 45. At least this age difference should have prevented her from making this unreasonable request. She said it was precisely because I was so young that she was asking me for this favor. I refused. She stopped attending to my case. She did not attend the third hearing.

I need some legal help to sort out some professional issues that clearly fall within the domain of women harassment and was about to seek the services of Roopa Agarwal. But now that I know of her unethical professional practices, I shall look for somebody else.

I had read that for women there is one profession that is worse than that of prostitution. This profession is law. Roopa Agarwal has conclusively proved this. Prostitutes do provide you services when you pay them. But [censored]es like Roopa Agarwal charge you money and provide you with nothing.

I have a complaint against Roopa Agarwal, a Lucknow-based lawyer with her office at B-105, Diwani Nyayalaya, Lucknow. On 3rd April 2017 I approached her to represent me in a case pertaining to women harassment at work. Roopa claims her speciality is in fighting such cases. She charged me Rs 5100 as vakalatnama charges, over and above Rs 71, 000 for fighting the whole case. I found that she was never attending my case but sending a very junior lawyer who could hardly speak in the court. I protested and asked her to attend the case herself. She rudely replied that I need not teach her. We had some arguments on this issue. Subsequently, she did not send anybody to attend to my case in the court. I approached her and told her that I was hiring another lawyer and she must return a good part of the money I had paid her. She refuses to return the money, saying that it was I who had broken the relationship with her by haggling over whom to send in the court.
I am to caution people against Roopa. She is a corrupt, unethical, dishonest and totally unreliable person, with no business ethics at all. I wonder whether anyone can help me with info as to how I can get my money back from her.

I wish I had read your complaint before approaching her for a case regarding harassment of my wife in office. This Lucknow lawyer Roopa Agarwal, who claims to be a campaigner and fighter for the rights of women, is a fraud. She charged me Rs 37, 000 for the complete case. She attended the hearing only once and then disappeared. I have been pursuing the matter with her for refund of my money. But she is not returning the money. I have visited her office various times because she does not take my phone call. Though I have been able to meet her a few times, she does not seem to be in any mood to return my money. Can somebody advise what should I do to get back my money from her?

File a complaint against Roopa Agarwal with the Bar Council of India. Or you can also file a complaint against her in consumers court. As you are her client by the virtue of the fact that she has charged you for her services that she failed to deliver, you can certainly make use of the consumer court. Persons like Roopa Agarwal are like scum even in a notorious profession like law. Unless somebody takes action against her, she will continue to pursue in her nefarious activities and cheat gullibles.

While I fully agree with Mr Rakesh Mehra that this lawyer Roopa Agarwal, with her office at B-105, Diwani Court, Lucknow, is a fraud and greedy woman, I don't think complaining about her in the bar council or in consumers' court will be of much help. Bar council charges fees and will summon the complainant, which will not be very convenient for the complainant. Consumers's courts take far too long to take a decision. The best remedy is to keep on exposing this woman so that others may not become victim like Gulshan and Derek.
