Rite Aid cashier tried to steal my debit card

I went into Rite Aid and wanted to pay for 2 items. I left my debit card on the counter and turned to my niece in the baby carriage to tend to her and then turned around again to address the cashier. He told me the total so I nodded and he seemed like he was wating for me so I said u have my card ... and he said I dont have your card. I said you do have my card because I put it right here on the counter and now its gone... he got annoyed and said I do not have your card ... so I got alittle louder and insisted that I had put my card down and turned to give the baby the pillow I had just bought her and began to draw the attention of other shoppers so then when he realized I was not going to just give him another card and kept insisting I left my debit card in front of us he began looking around and proceeds to pull my debit card out from under need the couter about 3 feet away ... well i went basically nuts and made a scene and asked for a manager because there was no way in hell i wanted him to continue helping me nor could he explain how my card got behind his counter 3 feet away except that then he said oh i must have accidentaly grabbed it when i was throwing away the ticket from the pillow but i insisted that is not the garbage pale which was clear as day behind him... he told me i was "buggin" was the term he used and then the manager after being paged 3 times arrived i explained what happened and she finished my transaction and told him to stop answering and mouthing off to me... i am calling the main company but wanted to see if there were other complaints of this happening and chose to post this... I am sure there is security cameras so I would love to see this

For one why would you leave your debit card on the counter and turn your back? Thats just stupid. So if he did do it that would be your own fault. Don't you know you can't trust many people in this world?

Are you sure he tried to steal your card; or did he just make a mistake? Really, where do you get off accusing him of trying to steal your card and then expecting him t0 not "mouth off" to you? I have a feeling you are a very negative person in your everyday life. Don't darken the doorstep of Rite Aid any more and attribute to these poorly paid, underappreciated employees' day full of cranky customers. And yes, ErinSadler, I am an adult with a debit card. I'm not an adult that assumes the worst about people, makes scenes in public and then proudly tells the world about it on the internet.

I think you are nuts and looking to start fights because you are severelly unhappy with your life. There is no need to cause a scene when the manager came up and tried to help you. It's people like YOU that make customer "service" a living, breathing hell. These people are not your slaves, they are human beings that, yes, make mistakes, and the reason they "mouth off" to you is because, again, you are crazy. Adjust your meds.

Rite Aid avoid them

My husband & are customers of the Rite Aid store in Metamora, MI. Each year, when we vacation in the Florida Keys, specifically, in Marathon, Fl, we use a Walgreen's store & pharmacy, as there is no Rite Aid store in our vicinity.

About 3 mos. ago, in Marathon my husband & I each received something unexpected and greatly welcomed & appreciated from our Rite Aid pharmacy back home in Metamora, MI ; Two Free $25 Gift Cards each, to be used when transferring prescriptions from another Pharmacy ! Such a remarkably generous and impressive company incentive, we thought, having enjoyed the competent, helpful and friendly service of our pharmacy & store in Metamora for many years ! In fact, receiving our gift certificates quickly reminded us, that last year, we had received similar gift certificates from Rite Aid that each of us enjoyed redeeming when we returned from Fl to MI. Naturally, we fully expected to redeem our gift certificates once again upon our return in April, and, as human nature would have it, each had our choices made on how we would use the 'gifts '.

How very disappointing today, when my husband, after cheerfully leaving for Rite Aid, gift certificate in hand to fill his prescriptions, returned with the very disappointing news that the 'fine print' on the 'Free $25 Gift Card' form denied us validity of the 'gifts'.

Our point here has nothing to do with the consistently excellent service we receive from our Pharmacy at Rite Aid here in Metamora. In fact we consider it exemplary and wouldn't think of going anywhere else. Our point is that we should never have received the Gift Card vouchers in the first place ! I'm assuming the intent of this Rite Aid policy is to impress, recruit and reward customers. And I'm assuming that your company would be interested and respectful of feedback from those you seek to serve and benefit. If Rite Aid's advertising and technological abilities can submit these types of incentives to customers and/or prospective customers, surely these means are sophisticated enough to delete those of us who must be somewhere documented as having "previously filled" prescriptions with Rite Aid ! Surely you would want to know that your efforts are achieving, in cases like ours, the opposite: disappointing, annoying, and basically negative effects !

My husband and I have taken the time to write this review to you because we hope that our disppointment, our 'let- down', matters. And also, that under the circumstances described above, you might understand our disappointment and assume that there are others, like us, who have experienced the same.

We are hopeful that you will find basis and motivation to avoid this type of negative impact on individuals and families you seek to serve, in the future.

Well if you read the fine print on the Transfer coupon, you will see that only certain people are eligible to receive the coupon. Those with State/Federal funded insurance are ineligible. Also note, you are only allowed to receive up to 2 coupons within a 6 month period and also that these gift cards are not to be used to pay for any prescription medication or tobacco products, alcohol etc etc. The cash register now has a program of those who keep track of those who utilize these coupons. I'm pretty sure you're a very decent couple with good intentions, but there are many many ### out there, who will try their best to abuse this coupon. Where I work, they're mostly indian, and the poor uneducated on state sponsored healthcare/insurance. Most technicians won't tell you the caveats because either they themselves don't know or could care less, but if you have coupon in hand, you should always read the fine print.

Rite Aid pharmacy

i went into the local riteaid on 7/17/09 to pick up a prescription for a client that i called in for her because she was running low on her meds. I almost forgot i dropped off one prescription three days prior to the date to pick the others up. I went to wait in line and the people at the pharmacy counter workers were too busy engaged in chit chat to take and open an other in line. now there are three people at the counter and i had problems with riteaid before and wouldnt do any business with myself personally. I am waiting for the woman behind the counter to find out what i needed, when she was opening up the other register she says whos next, the guy beside me goes to step up and i was like look i do not have all day to wait i am in a hurry to get back to my client. She takes the name of my client (no confidendenuallity) and goes to get the meds for my client. comes back and says that was all there was i was trying to tell them there was one more there and i needed it for my client. The other one in the back of the store managed to talk sence into the one at the counter and they found them i mentioned the one i dropped off the past three days ago ...they said they wpould look into it for me to make sure i had dropped it off. when they could not find the exspencive prescription for the highly controlled drugs i was like great now you are calling me a liar saying i never dropped the prescription off.! The asked again if i was sure it was dropped off here and who i gave it too. I said i didnt know i was sopposed to make sure the people here were competant to recieve them in the first place. They fumbled around like a monkey with a football and found the one i dropped off and as i was leaving i told them at the pharmacy that ether your part of the problem or part of a solution and you guys are nethier! I walk out into the area to leave with the meds they gave me and this kid whom used to go to school with my son comes up to me and in a threatening behaviour states i will nolonger be allowed in the store this needs to stop here now. so dont come back . mind you this is the store that my client goes too i wouldnt from a problem with a product on thier shelf that they never put into thier computer and therefor couldnt sell it to me period. i complained to the corperation about that before and every time i had a problem it is the same ol thing they do no wrong ever. My client comes in today and has switched her meds to the only other pharmacy in the area. And adds that i am nolonger allowed in any of the riteaid's in the whole area including vermont and new england too. I never did anything to deserve being thrown out of this store or any other now i am interested in others who have complained about this same store . they lost 6 customers from this one instance so far from my episode with them and when you compain to corperate about a store they feel you are now against them and will just send a no truspass to your mail box, if they have one for you or they will telll your friends to tell you not to come in again and such what a punk store this is if you asked me but one thing is for sure here. riteaid is on thier way out because they do not treat anyone who walks through there doors with respect so they lose more customers then they can get into thier doors. should be renamed wrongaid...lol... thanks for reading and have fun stay safe and odnt go to the wrongaid stores... no worth my troubles at all... when a little punk that works there is allowed to threaten you and all that crap like the one on here i read that only suspended a manager for hitting a customer for a measly 3 days ...what a joke they are ...to think we trust them with high powered drugs ...wonder whos doing the steroids there ...and how they even got a way to make a go of thier ...wrong-aided stores in the first place... take it easy and safe ...Ed

Rite Aid pharmacy hours

The store hours for the Rite Aid Pharmacy on Kiefer Blvd. are misleading. The sign outside the door to the store reads Mon-Fri 8am - 10pm. So are they closed on the weekends? NO! You have to go to the other side of the front door to see that they close on the weekends at 6pm. Totally confusing and misleading. Who would think that a store within a store would have TWO signs with their hours on them? Not me! PLUS: I called their 24-hour answering recording and it says the closing time is 10pm. Yes, I take medication for my blood pressure, but that didn't happen to be the prescription I was out of. I've been a good customer of theirs for years, but I'm done with them.

The pharm tech environment is terrible. Pharmacist manager sits around reading magazines and doing scratch offs until shes absolutely needed to Q@A. They hire drug addict techs(before they started the drug testing) who rob them blind and the clueless pharmacist manager could care less. They treat the ones with integrity like crap until the point of resignation. This is the worse company I've ever ever worked for not to mention the worst paying job.

Rite Aid pharmacy

I went to the pharmacy to pick up a perscription that I had called in 2 days prior. When I got home with it, I noticed that it was my mothers. Now luckily I have a car to go back to the store, but after working 12 hours, you shouldn't have to do that. I called the pharmacy about why I was given the wrong one, the girl never apologized once and kept saying my prescription was never placed, so basically she is implying that I'm lying. Luckily they are only allergy pills, but what if they weren't and I really needed them, I wouldn't been out-of-luck. I own a restaurant and I know how customers should be treated, I only expect the same in return. What if my mother's RX went into someone else's hands, it could've been alot worse. I just hope someone does do something about Rote-Aid pharmacies, because they just lost about 6 customers, from my word-of-mouth, so now Walgreens is my new pharmacy.

Phoenix, a pharmacist can't give you medication without a perscription under any circumstances! It's ILLEGAL. And really kinda stupid of you to ask. If you felt your life was in danger, you should have called an ambulance.

I had a situation with Rite Aid Pharmacy in Santa Clara, CA, were I was a customer of the pharmacy. I have been a customer at least a year with Rite Aid, and I thought they knew me. I am a type one diabetic insulin dependent and on an insulin pump. I lost a bottle of insulin, so I thought I have gotten the insulin at Rite Aid before which was about 4 months ago, so I thought I would get a bottle from Rite Aid. They told me that they needed to get a re-fill from the doctor and I said find, but could the give me the bottle anyway since this was an emergency. Due to me misplacing my pervious bottle. I was told by the pharmacist that she would not give me the bottle at all even if I was out of insulin. Then I was told by her why did I wait so long, I told her and yes I was extremely angry that I misplaced my bottle and I was sorry but it was an emergency. She was telling I needed to call the doctor’s office and have them call. I told her but you’re the pharmacist and you know my history. She still refused to help me. I am also on a dexcom meter which register my blood sugar 24/7, and my blood sugar at that point was over 250. I keep my sugars between 70 and 140. As a pharmacist she does know that damage can occur to my body with high blood sugars and she also knows that diabetics need insulin to live. Believe me I know that it’s my responsilibty to take care of myself and sometimes accidents happen that is out of one’s control. In the past I have worked with other pharmacy’s for example when I didn’t know that I was on my last bottle and they needed to call the doctor for a re-fill on my prescription. They pharmacist would call the doctors for the approval and sell me the bottle of insulin, and I would go on my way. I just can’t understand why Rite Aid could do the same. They know I am diabetic and insulin dependent, I am a pervious customer, I have had refills at the pharmacy before. So with that said why wouldn’t they sell me the bottle and let go on my way and use the insulin that I need to bring my sugar back to control. I am sure they would have gotten the approval, because I talked to my doctor’s office and they were going to call it in, but thank GOD my son found my insulin, and he dropped it off to me at work. I told the doctor’s office don’t call it in. I will never do business with Rite Aid ever again, I will not even shop there as a customer anymore. When I asked the store manager for help he said that he didn’t care about my situation and ignored my situation, then he said that he understood, I told him I don’t think so, unless you are in the persons shoes who has the medical condition. He was just as bad as the Pharmacist. I feel the public should be made aware of how Rite Aid treats Diabetics, as far as I am concerned she was playing with my life as a person and a diabetic, thank God I am not a heart patient, would I have to wait for nitroglycerin if I was having a heart attack? Again the point is I had re-fills at this store for at least a year, they know I am diabetic, they know I am on an insulin pump, so why would they not take care of someone who is in an emergency situation. I sure hope nothing happens in their life where they are held, and told no you can’t have it, when they already know that the doctor’s office will approve the re-fill. In a diabetics life insulin is the key to survival, it’s like when one breaths, you need it to stay alive. It goes the same for the insulin, without it I could die, my blood sugar will raise and I could go into a coma and die. So please, please let other Diabetic know about what Rite Aid does to their Diabetic Patients. Below is the address of the store where this happen.

Rite Aid - horrible customer service

So I went there to return a blush and face lotion and I also wanted to exchange a hair mousse for a hairspray. I had my receipt which said that I had only purchased these items a week before wanting to return them. I was under the impression that Rite AId, like most drugstores, had a pretty lenient return policy (especially with a receipt!) Anyway, the...

Rite Aid rebate scam and loophole

I think the Rite Aid single check rebate is a rip off and it has many loopholes.

Here is why: I made 1 purchases that would qualify for January and 2 purchases February 2009 rebate over the weeks and 3 more on the last week on February 2009.

I entered the receipts as directed from RiteAid.com on several different dates before the submission due date in mid February. (January 2009 submission due date is Feb-23-09, February 2009 is Mar-30-09)

Unaware that the Rite Aid system AUTOMATICALLY requests the checks before submission due dates, which it did on February 20th for BOTH January and February checks. I was no longer able to enter the 3 purchases made on the last week of February 2009. Which is about $15.

I am going to challenge Rite Aid rebate’s department with its 1-888 number.

Rite Aid rip off

Rite Aid offered a rebate for an item that the store was out of. The store manager issued a rain check for the item and stated the store would honor the rebate even though the item would not come in until after the rebate period ended. I obtained the item two weeks later at the rain check price and was told I had to return on a weekday for the clerk to fax the rebate request, which I did.

A week afterward the fax was sent, I received an email stating Rite Aid would not honor the rebate as it did not state 'rain check' on the receipt, although the receipt showed the item was purchased at the 'rain check' price and the rebate item number was indicated. The email stated I needed to re-fax the receipt indicating 'rain check' on the receipt and also said I could not reply to the email, but had to post a dispute on their website.

I posted three disputes on their website stating the Rite Aid Store had faxed the receipt to them and so I should not have to do anything further to receive the rebate check. I received two replies insisting I re-fax the receipt, even though I indicated I'm snowed in and their store originally faxed the receipt.

I believe this is a ripoff as I was told their store would take care of faxing the receipt and I would get a rebate check for the item obtained at the rain check price. Their customer service emails repeatedly refused to acknowledge that their store followed their procedure incorrectly and issue my rebate check. I think their policy must be to make people jump through so many hoops that they never have to issue a rebate. They should not be allowed to advertise and continue this program as it's a fraud. Thank you for providing a forum for people to report these ripoffs!

Rite Aid is not a plowing company. They have contractors that do that. So if someone was revving an engine it's probably because it snowed, and they parking lot has to be clear of snow and ice, so they can not be sued. Complain to the company who does the plowing. It's not a Rite Aid issue. They have pleny of their own. Why make an unneccesary complaint about it?

I work for Rite Aid in NYC and we are told if a sign is up and it is incorrect (outdated etc) we have to give that customer the item at that price because it is our mistake. It would be considered false adbvertising if we didn't. But I am talking about a regular display, not 1 item placed on a shelf by someone in passing. Plenty of times the price stickers aren't changed when the computers price is updated and we also must adjust the price.
I'm sorry you had to deal with a jerk

I went to Rite Aid in Greefield Ohio and they had a display with alot of items and in front of each there were several signs saying 50% off so I pick up 2 of the items took to cashier she rung them up at regular price and I told her that they were on the shelf that said 50% off She said that the items on them shelves were over stock items and they are not 50% off. So I told her she need to take off the sighns then and she said nope cause that keeps people guessing . I wont go back to Rite Aid if thats how they want to run the store.

I hope rite aid dies in a pile of its own gorge-induced flaming mess of putrid puke. "Harrassment shall not be tolerated?" Yah right. They'll let anyone harrass workers so long as they slam a buck down on the counter in the process. Rite aid is the devil, and CUSTOMERS are his minions.

Rite Aid terrible quality product

After working out @ the gym i went shopping with my 7yr old son, then we stop & got ice cream we then walked over to riteaid to get a product i had paid 4. It was damaged so i was to get another but forgot 2, got home then i remembered i called & was told 2 come back & get my item. While i was shopping @ the riteaid the manager was watching me looking @ me suspiciously i then asked to get my item the manager was unprofessional, rude was talking to the employees in very disrespectful voice tone manner he then kicked me & my son out the store for no reason.

Rite Aid - poor customer service / clueless pharmacists

We used to have an Eckerd's. It was clean, organized. The staff was customer-oriented. Service was great. Pharmacy was excellent. Eckerd was sold and turned into a Rite Aid. It is awful. Poor service. Idiot pharmacy. The store is diminished and feels claustrophobic. I am switching to CVS in town after using this drug store for 10 years.

Rite Aid they don't know what there doing

This store needs serious help. All there new employees are very unfriendly and a bunch of idiots. This store made a bad decision when they got rid of there old help. They need them back and several people in Colquitt are swithching to the other pharmacy in that town because who wants to shop at a store where all the employees are dumb as a box of rocks.

This store is getting worse and worse. I really dislike all the employees and I've moved all my business elsewhere. The pharmacy never has your prescriptions ready on time and the employees act like there all on drugs.

I would like to contact all owners of stores leased by RITE AID.
The management is totally incompetent and will drive the company to a ditch. The other two companies, CVS and Welgreen, with a comparable number of stores, the same kind of merchandise, the same price range, make ten times more money per year. The top management of RITE AID Is clearly incapable of running the company. From advertisement to store policies, they do an extremely poor job.
OWNERS we have invested our life savings in those stores. We have a big stake on this, bigger than the shareholders who can sell their shares with just a phone call (and they are doing so in droves.)

Call me at [protected], or fax at [protected], or e-mail at

I honestly think that Rite Aid is racist. I went in that store the other day and it looks like they fired all there white employees and kept the black ones. I'm not racist, Please don't be offended by my reply, but I think everyone should be treated fairly.

Rite Aid rude employees

I will never shop at Rite Aid again. The cashier I believe her name was Stephanie, thats what it said on her name tag. She totally ignored me and was talking on her cell phone behind the counter. When she finally come to ring me up she never put her phone down. She never asked how I was doing or nothing. That store needs to fire her.

I used to work there and I don't know how she gets away with it. She's had so many complaints and she's still there. They suspended me for a stupid reason and I never had any complaints on me. I guess its just who you are. They are totally unfair! NEVER WORK FOR RITE AID!

Rite Aid a very unpleasant experiance

I've been a loyal customer of Rite Aid, but I had a very unpleasant experience with one of your stores today, which makes me feel offended and insulted.

Today I went to Rite Aid store# 6233, 776 Market Street San Francisco to retune a merchandiser. With no greeting, this lady asked me "why you took so long" in a very unfriendly way. I told her this was purchased on 7/11 and today is 8/2. It's in 30 days and this merchandiser is unused. I was asked why I wanted to return it and I told her I didn't like the flavor. She went to check if this was a rebate item for about 5 minutes and came back confirming it was not. And then she claimed that I wanted to return it because I took the wrong rebate item. She also indicated that I was not being "honest", in a very offensive way. I asked what her name and her work ID but she refused to gave that to me. She also looked at my receipt and read out loud my name to the other 2 cashiers and asked them to "remember my name". So I told her I would like to complain to the store manager and she gave me the "go ahead there's nothing you can do" gesture. On the way out, I asked the security who the manager was and he said that lady was the manager (supervisor).

As a consumer, I have my right to return any merchandiser based on your return policy. I do not mind being questioned but I believe everybody would prefer in a friendly way. Your company claimed Rite Aid is a place where customers are treated with respect and they feel appreciated and welcome. However, I didn't feel respected by being called "not honest" and with my name read out loud. This is very unprofessional.

This lady refused to give me her name and work ID. She was about 5'6"-5'7" tall, mid 40's, Spanish looking.

I'd like to hear what Rite Aid would like to treat their customers with respect. I was insulted and offended today and it definitely affect my future purchasing at Rite Aid.

Rite Aid bad service

Last month I had a prescription filled ($215.99) I take 2 pills 2 times daily (4 pills per day). My prescription is for 30 days so that would be 120 pills.

When I got home there were 40 pills in the bottle, but I did not think I could do anything about it. Today I had my prescription filled again. As soon as i got home I counted the pills and there were 106 pills. I immediately called the pharmacy who said they would count their remaining inventory and call me back. Of course when they called back, they said that their inventory was correct so they would do nothing about it. That meant that I would have to go for sometime without my medication, until the 30 days was up and I could again fill my prescription. I take Focalin 10mg and although there is a generic that my insurance would cover, Rite Aid says that their supplier cannot get the generic, so the $215.99 comes out of my Social Security monthly payment of $749. Please advise other people of Rite Aid's prescription shortage policy.

While this story seems unlikely, I've known Rite Aid employees to do stupid things like hand out prescriptions like Fentanyl to people who don't have the prescription for them because they were placed in wrong bag. It's happened twice to me. Once I was suppose to be picking up my fathers heart medicine and I was given Fentanyl pills and the next time I was suppose to be picking up my daughters asthma inhaler and they gave me 10 Fentanyl patches. Both times I didn't even get to the front door before turning around and requesting the proper medications. My point is that while the laws are strict on all controlled substances, they cannot fully control the stupidity of employees.

I should also add that when I return the first mixed up medicine, the Pharmacist looked at me and said, "Oh, we've been looking for that for three hours!"

Just last week I left my prescription at drive thru to be filled, came back in about 25 minutes and picked up at window. I then drove home got setteled, set down opened my bag infront of my husband and daughter for the first time. They put it in 2 bottles because they had to use 2 different brands to get the 135 quanity it was written for. So I open them and I respond by saying out loud that it did not look like enough pills. So I counted and there was only a total of 102 pills, so each bottle was short. I called cvs and after discussion I drove back, went inside spoke to 2 different people.I was treated very ugly and I left without my proper amount, but its not over because I called the corp. office, the police and I am filing a complaint with the state pharmacy board. I may never get the missing pills owed to me but I will cause the true vilian to be discovered. So before you judge people who have to have pain medicine to work and live a farely normal life you need to walk in our shoes. Infact you people who are so closed minded or judgemental your probably some of the ones stealing our medicines for a profit or a quick high, your just trying to sound like some fine upstanding employee of a drug store or someone in the medical feild. You see anyone can be a thief or addicted to drugs even if they are in charge of dispensing the medicines. 3ruptureddisk

oh look another controlled substance drug user saying they were shorted pills... why am I not surprised.

Vicodin, Oxycontin, Focalin, Ritalin, Adderall, Acetaminophen with Codeine, Lortab... I can go on and on... people who take these drugs almost ALWAYS SAY THEY WERE SHORTED. Lies!

We double count controlled substances, mostly all pharmacies do.

Stop trying to get more drugs to feed your addiction!

The first time your were shorted 80 pills, and said nothing about it because you thought you couldn't do anything about it. The next time your script is short 14 pills, and you bring it to their attention at once. Something in your story sounds wrong. I agree with FamousFarker- this is almost an impossibility with this type of medication.

That is almost an impossibility. First off with highly controlled substances like that, the pills are counted twice. Secondly their inventory is kept very up to date. Half of a missing pill or extra pill can get you in an assload of trouble. Thirdly, the description you made is very common for those who abuse control medication or who want extra quantities of the amount. Now I'm not accusing you of being an abuser of drug, but from my knowledge of standard pharmacy procedure, if what you describe is true, then either someone in the pharmacy is stealing from your bottle, or your complaint is a flat out lie. And theft or accusations of theft pertaining to prescriptions drugs can be considered felonious and may involve the DEA as well as your local law enforcement.

Next time have them count it there at the pharmacy BEFORE you leave. They will probably be busy but with this being a control substance the law is very strict on this. ALso read the quantity dispensed amout on your bottle. Sometimes even though the doc wrote for a 30 day supply your insurance may not cover it. The pharmacy is suppose to notify you of this to give you an option of filling it for whatever the covered amount is or pay out of pocket
