On September 11 I was surfing the internet for free ringtones for my phone. I went to ringtones.com to see what they could offer. After I sent my cell number I received a Text that said they would charge my cell account $19.99 for subscription. I promptly called them back to tell the that I hadn't wanted to subscribe and that I just wanted to see what they had to offer. They said that they could do nothing for me and that the charge would still appear on my phone bill but that they would be happy to cancel my account. DO NOT use this company as they are only out for your money. They did nothing to help me and I will certainly tell everybody I know that I felt that I was scammed.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
was sent a text message telling me i had been charged 19.99 for a subscription that i didn't order and when i sent them a text back telling them i didn't subscribe to theis services and to cancel me they sent me a text back telling me that i had been canceled but didn't refund my money.i have a pay as you go phone and they ripped me off for 19.99 and i want my money back
This company CSW jokes/Horoscopes is a fraud. I went to check out free Nascar ringtones and instead was sent and charged 5.99 for jokes everyday. I cancelled it immediately the next day but they still billed my cell phone company. Big fraud.
I have been receiving text mssg. jokes; could not figure out where they were coming from. After getting cell phone bill I called Verizon (my cell phone company), great help from them. Evidently they have had other complaints about these charges. I was credited for the $19.99 premier charge and was advised how to unsubscribe from this service which obviously is a huge scam.
Good luck!
I got charged $9.99 for some company named ringtonetimes...I didnt even know about this company... I got a text message saying "UR subscribed 2 Polytones Club PIN:xxxx for ringtonetimes.com billed @ $9.99/monthly 4help:care@ringtonetimes.com cxl stop DH " thats what the message said... I never requested any of this, i want my money back... If anyone has any help or comments, email me at ceylanelninotorres@hotmail.com, thank you...
First of all the email address doesn't work to try to cancel this false advertising charge.
I called the company immediately and they said it would not be charge, but low and behold, 30 days later they are charging me $9.99.
It will probably take many phone calls to my cellphone carrier and my visa card to get this cancelled. Don't be sucked into this!
On October 10, I received an email from this company offering ringtones and I decided to see what they had to offer and when I clicked in, I had to put in my cell number and then they sent me a text saying I was gonna get charged $5.99 weekly ($23.96 monthly) and I never65 wanted to subscribe to anything, I just wanted to see what they had to offer and now i'm gonna get charged this monthly fee for something I really didn't want to add onto my bill and they didn't give me a choice. I should at least have a choice and I think their motivation is money-driven and their should be some kind of way that this can be stopped because this is just another form of slamming and last I thought, slamming was not welcomed.
I found a "RingtoneTimes.Com" advertisement for a free download ringtone. A short time later I found out that I wasn't getting a free download ringtone but would be charged $19.95 monthly charge. I followed procedure and stopped the text messaging which had begun immediately --some corny jokes. To make a long story short I was charged $19.99 by VERIZON on my monthly statement. I went to my local Verizon store and the lady there told me she couldn't help me and gave me phone number to Ringtime Tones. Why doesn't Verizon stop doing business with Ringtone Tones. I'll tell everyone about my stupidity in trying to get something free. I learned my lesson.

This is verbatim, exactly how it appears on my cell phone. Thinking this was one of AT&T's customer awards type of thing, I replied OK. The next message I get tells me I'm all signed up to begin getting billed $9.99 a month from ringtonetimes for some crap I don't want, don't need and did not receive!
WTF? How are these people allowed to continue with this deceptive BS? I sent them several E-mails requesting that they cancel the account and refund my money and they flat out refused saying I knew what I was signing up for. Someone show me where the above text message tells me this is some ringtonetimes member application?
I'd like to ring Chris NG's neck!
Anyway, AT&T did refund the money these scammers sucked out of my pre-paid phone account. I imagine pre-paid cell phones are the only one's they can screw like this, since they have your money before you are even aware of what you are mysteriously signed up for.
Someone should do something about these people. I have a friend with the IRS who I'm going to call and see if they aren't interested in auditing Cris NG and his ringtonetimes company!
Unauthorized charges of $19.99 is being deducted from my cellphone account each month since dec.2007 and I want my Refunds because I didn't authorize this. Beware!
I was surfing the net for free ringtones. They offered one so I followed the instructions to download it. The next thing I know I am being charged $19.99 for a JOKE OF THE DAY service! I don't think so. I called and they refused to cancel the charge. I refuse to pay it. Why would the representative from this company not let me speak to a supervisor when I asked to? Why is Verizon supporting this company?
I accessed this site through an add for free ringtones. I never knowingly authorized any subscription, nor did I know that supplying my cell number authorized them to hit my carrier account. Nor did I receive any ringtone service. They hit my Verizon service for a $22 fee.
Beware!
The "free ringtones" offered on my Verison phone were charged on my cell phone bill at $9.99 per month...I canceled (as soon as Verison told me it was a third party and how to cancel) and expect to have ALL of the charges reversed on my phone bill immediately.
Its ridiculous that Verison would allow such a scam to be offered on their phones under their menus...
SOMEONE BETTER CREDIT MY CELL PHONE ACCOUNT!
Ringtonetimes.com is a fraud - be careful!
On September 13, I followed the instructions to receive a free ringtone from ringtonetimes.com. It was not clear that I would be enrolled in a monthly subscription service.
I then started receiving a new text message every five minutes from 717-69, including:
- "Sorry, ur handset does not support downloadable contents. U will rcv combo club @$19.99 monthly"
- "What happens when frogs park illegally? They get toad."
- "UR subscribed 2 combo club. PIN:0684 for ringtonetimes.com. 31credits billed. $19.99 monthly. 4help1877-225-1198. cxl stop DH"
Following the instructions on the site, I sent a "Stop" text message to 717-69, to which I received the following reply:
- "Sorry, u r not a subscriber to any of Ringtone Times's services."
So that I would stop receiving unsolicited text messages, I blocked ringtonetimes.com using the Verizon Wireless text message site.
I just looked at my latest Verizon Wireless bill, and I have been charged $19.95. I called Verizon, and they seemed unable to do anything about the charge. I also sent Verizon an email, detailing the entire incident, telling them that ringtonetimes.com is a fraud, and that Verizon needs to have a higher barrier against third parties' charges.
I was billed from ringtonestime.com for 20 credits without authorization after being offered a free ringtone. After I answered YES to this offer(of one free ringtone) I received a text message in which I was told I was suscribed to an UR 2 Value combo for $19.99 THAT WAS GOING TO BE CHARGED OR ADDED TO MY COMPANY BILL(AT&T)MONTHLY. I sent a message as a reply and I receives another message from them telling me that my command was nor recognized. I do not want to upload or download any rintone from this site or ompany.
They said they renewed my subscription never asked i have never gotten anything from them don't want anything the only reason my husband ever gave them our number was for a so called free ringtone we never received and that was months ago. Now they tell me its been renewed hows that i never asked for it and this isn't the first time they have done this to me i only put enough money to pay my account for the next month and they messed that up taking money out this phone is my home phone as well as my cell i need it i have 2 kids in school and a 2 mth old baby. I am very angry about this and hope i can find a way to stop this cr*p.
All I was trying to receive were free ringtones. I then get a text message saying they charged my account $19.95 a month for fees to my new subscription. This better not have come out of my account because this was done so without my knowledge and consent. I am calling my bank right after this e-mail, to make sure nothing has been deducted. You f*cked the wrong person over, my Identity has been stolen a year ago and therefore I only do freebies on line, which means my account is very strictly overseen.
I didn't want their service I was only looking at what kind of ringtones I could get for free, after entering my cell number I was charged 19.99, I have asked repeatedly to cancell the service but they continue chargeing my phone I don't use the service because the ringtones they have to offer are terrible, DON'T USE THIS COMPANY BECAUSE THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF I AM NOW HAVING TO CHANGE MY NUMBER SO I WON'T BE CHARGED ANYMORE.
I never agreed to this and it is charging me 19.95 a month i just want it removed and i never used it. I want it completely removed from my bill and phone.
I have not subscribed to Ringtones, and yet they are charging me $9.99 per month. When you try and text them back, they say they don't recognize the message.
How do you get rid of them... Plz advise smb!
I received a text message saying that I had subscribed to ringtonetimes.com and it gave me a pin number. I have never signed up for any ringtones with this site. I also have reason to believe that they have charged my cell phone 20 dollars in charges. I sent them back a text telling them to take me off of their list and I received a text back telling me to submit any complaints to care@ringtonetimes.com
This was an advertisement to get a free ringtone, which I never got any and they charged $9.99 to my cell phone bill. The next month I got a text message saying my service was automatically renewed for $9.99.
I was supposed to receive one free ringtone for my cell phone. It was never received; but I was told I would have to pay A$9.99 each month. I did not sign up for this and I will never pay for services I did not order! There seems to be no where I can cancel or notify Ringtonetimes on there web site. When I called their telephone number it was garbled with other languages at the same time.
This company advertised free ringtones for the cell phone. When i tried to download a ring tone then they started billing me $9.99 per month for a subscription that I did not order.
I aksed for a complimentary ringtone that I never recieved but in the process have received daily jokes texted to me and charges on my cell phone bill. When I attemted to stop the service the return text indicated that they "did not recognize the command". I would like the charges credited back to my cell account
They advertise free and then tell you later that there is a monthly charge. If you send "Stop" they ignore it and bill you anyway. It is time for a class action, why is Verizon and other companies paying them the fee. They must know where to send the $ to. Don't waste your time calling, they won't answer the phone!
This company charged my cell phone account an unauthorized amount of 9.99. I have never used their service and want my money refunded!
i recieved a text on my phone and when i decided to add funds to my account it took 9.99 from my phone and i want that replaced cause i didnt ask for ringtones on my phone.
This company took 9.99 from my cell phone account without authorization or permission. When I tried to terminate the plan and get my money back I was unable to do so.
i dont want this on my phone i cancelled subscription and i would apreciate it if im not billed for a stupid joke
Thought my niece sent me a free ringtone. Now i find out i have been charged $9.99. I do not want the ringtones. I feel i was scammed.
They send me an offer of free ringtones and before I close and open my eyes they billed me for $9.99! Beware people!
Was listening to a gospel song and it had buy now, so i thought i was getting that song and after i bought it that song wasn't even on there to download. I was very disgusted thats false advertisement!
I went to this website to get free ring tones. Never got the ring tones but they started sending me jokes instead and i can't get them off my phone. Then they sent me a text saying they were renewing at $9.99 a month. When I try to text them back they say command not recognized.
I was charged 19.99 for ringtones i never wanted, or even bought. Worse thing about this is, i can't even get a refund!
Web site reads 9.99 for thousands of ring tones when they offered 15 in category. I only wish i had seen these complaints before subscribing. I canceled and hour later without downloading anything!
They have now cancelled the subscription; but they didn't put my money back on my card. I didn't use there services.
This site stole 19.99 from me and i want my money back... the ringtones were advertised as free, but i was charged 20 bucks for ringtone subscription that I cant even access, these people are thieves and someone should stop them.
i want removed from this subscription that i never agreed to! These are fraudulant charges not just to myself but to alot of others. we should be refunded and taken off your list. this is so unfair! how does one go about getting rid of this?
I checked out a site for a free ringtone and received a text message with a pin# and was informed that I would be charged for 19.99/monthly. I thought I could check out a free service, what a scam. How do I stop this service? I tried to e-mail ringtonetime.com and no response.
I was supposed to get one free ringtone download for my cell phone. It was never received. I do not want to subscribe or will I ever pay for services I did not order or want.
