On the path to perfection 🏔️
Rewards 660 has a very responsive customer support, but for a perfect rating, they’d need to visit ComplaintsBoard more frequently to check complaints and respond to them promptly 😉 As for reviewers, we can advise them to carefully read customer complaints (both positive and negative) and note aspects that can help in efficient problem-solving.

Rewards 660 MetaBank Transition hurts credit rating

Please be careful! During the transition from the previous servicing bank and MetaBank they are are reporting balances and incorrect credit information to all credit agencies.

It appears that the system is not applying payments to the correct (old) accounts and negative information is being posted to credit bureaus.

I am wanting to file against them ...their time has come too many people have been ripped off
I have been turned down for a job and a house because of them! I checked my credit last night and they are still reporting me as owing them (trans union) and I paid them two years ago when I got my income tax! Yet they are still showing me as owing them I want to be compensated because this is not professional and its false!

Rewards 660 Unauthorized charges

I activated this card in Sept.8 to build my credit so I payed $40.00, then the guy that I spoke to said that I need to schedule next two following payments, so I did, for Oct 8 and Nov. 8. I called at the beginning of October and I spoke to a guy and told him that my payment for this and next month needs to be through a different account number so he told me that that he will notate the account and make the changes, so then I had two payments that went through, one with the old account number (which the acct is already closed) and one with the new acct number, and they dont show any calls from me at all, so they said that once the payment goes through they will charge me a $37.00 insufficient fee for the $40 payment that the account was closed and that will put me ina bad status with them, so I said since their calls are recorded they should be able to look up my phone call, and of course they refuse to do that, I should not be penalize for their customers service mistake, it wasn't like I didn't make a payment on time, and I was over the limit, all Im asking is that they shouldn't charge me that fee, when I called plenty of time ahead to change the account number, so be very careful with them, so I am going to have to call back and make sure that the information was changed, which I shouldn't have to do that I should be able to trust their word.

Rewards 660 Bought out by another company...so they say

I also got an email stating that Rewards 660 was being purchased by Metabank. However, according to some of the info I gandered online...Rewards 660 was ALREADY associated with Metabank. I don't know what they're trying to pull...but since I paid by debit card, I'm gonna see if it's advisable to seek a refund, or am I just S.O.L.

I have tried to make my payment several times and been unable to do so. The new bank for the card is basically inaccessible by phone. I previously received emails from Rewards660 and have gotten nothing in 2 or 3 months. I've made several attempts to call the number given above and for one reason or another, ie weather, office hours on Pacific time, or just nothing, (the phone disconnects when I dial the number). I have received no emails, letters, calls or anything. It appears that the new bank is trying to take advantage of the customer. My account was current and available credit was not a problem. I fear that when and if I ever get in touch with these people, I will have all kinds of charges since I have been unable to to make a payment due to their inaccessibility and failure to contact me. I hope someone has already reported them to the Better Business Bureau but I plan to register a complaint anyway. I am watching my credit report carefully to see if they attempt to affect it. I sense fraud with the company now!

The Rewards 660 Visa® credit card program was recently terminated because the servicer of the program was unable to continue operating the program. MetaBank, a federally chartered savings association located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, agreed to take the program over rather than leave account holders without a credit card. MetaBank apologizes for any disruption experienced by Rewards 660 Visa® cardholders. Unfortunately, temporarily suspending account usage was necessary in order to transition the Rewards 660 accounts to IndigoTM MasterCard® accounts. Current accountholders should receive and be able to activate their new Indigo credit card very soon.

I also received an email stating:

DEAR CARDHOLDER:
We are writing to inform you that the Rewards 660 Visa credit card program and all Rewards 660 Visa credit card accounts are being transferred to MetaBank, a federal savings association. In connection with the program transfer, charge privileges on all Rewards 660 accounts have been temporarily suspended. You may not use your Rewards 660 card during this brief transition. Please do not attempt to use your Rewards 660 card until further notice.
If you have any questions about this letter, you may call customer service toll-free at [protected].

Sincerely,
Dakota State Bank

I have not been able to get any information about what is going on and have not received word from Metabank? My problem is they start you off with a $300 balance of which $250 is fees and now with the change when I finally spoke to someone at Rewards660 they said I would still be liable for the balance. I have only had the card for a month or 2 and now I am going to be responsible to pay fees for a card I barely used and I balance that are due from fees!?!
If any one has any additional information please let me know. Thank you

Bank Card Services claims to issue Master Card Credit Cards on behalf of Master Card itself.

Clients have called my office on numerous occasions claiming to be duped out of hundreds of dollars at a time, as well as to receive harrassing phone calls from their supposed Customer Service agents.

As a Fraud Recovery and investigative Officer, I recently called their 1-800 number, and spoke to "Jody Hammond" on behalf of a client of mine. jody sounded confident and well versed enough to assure me that someone from her "customer service" department would return my call so I can begin a formal investigation.

I have yet to receive that call.

I urge anyone else who has received calls from this company to submit your brief story here. I'll check back personally.

Todd Marshall, Fraud Specialist - UPDATE - 2 Oct 2008
As an update to my previous entry, one of my colleagues contacted the same company 30 minutes after my intial call and recevied entirely different info regarding the company "Bank Card Services".

The person my colleague spoke to claimed the company was in fact a collections office with offices located in Oregon as well as Arizona.

The very different types of business this company claims to be raises more red flags than I can count which has now prompted us to initiate a full blown investigation into the company.

All follow ups, as well as additional names and numbers ofthose we communicate with at "Bank Card Services" will be posted here as well as on other report sites for public access.

UPDATE to previous calls to "Bank Card Services"

On October 3rd, 2008 at 3:15pm EST I called their 1-800 number again and spoke to a supposed "Manager" named William Garcia. William Garcia was unable to answer any of my questions, and refused to give me the details as to what exactly their company does.

From my understanding, 'Bank Card Services' does the following;

1) They're a Collectins Agency

2) They resell Mastercard Credit Cards on behalf of MasterCard.

3) They debit "account holders" bank accounts directly through checking accounts as well as through their supposed "online bill payment processor".

Again, when speaking to William Garcia, he was unable to give me the URL (web address) of this supposed "Online Bill Payment Processor".

William sounded extremely confused, and became very angry when I mentioned to him that I was infact recroding the phone call.

William Garcia then hung up the phone.

I called their 1-800 number again (4th time today), and asked the girl who answered the phone to let me speak to William Garcia, to which she replied; "Sorry, there's no one working here by that name".

More updates to this will follow shortly.

I will continue corresponding with this company for as long as required. If you happen to receive a call from this company, do not hang up. Instead, do the following;

1) Act as if you're interested in their services.

2) Get as much information as you can about them.

3) Make absolutely certain you get their first name as well as their last name (of the person/agent) you're speaking to.

4) Make a note of the time they called you.

5) DO NOT under any circumstances give this company ANY of your banking information or personal identification.

The company, "Bank Card Services" is a FRAUDULENT COMPANY seeking to take your money directly from your banking account by convincing you they're offering you credit services and/or credit protection services.

This company has ripped me off from the start so I stopped using them and made a deal to just pay the $300.00 which is no where near what I charged but I agreed to just pay it off if they would close the account and they agreed so I sent them $300.00 and waited for them to send me the confirmation saying that they recieved my payment and the account was closed I got nothing. I've been trying to contact them and now they have transferred over to Metabank and still no response. So now I'm out of my money and now a credit card on my credit report what should I do. i have seen so many reports on this company this is truly amazing that these companies are not being true to their customers

I had this happen to me but I received a new card right away, the card is now called Indigo from MetaBank. They are much stricter and I hate them; but I thought it was changed because my bill was not paid. When you recieve a statement along with your card from Indigo, it will be the exact same as what you had on the rewards 660 card.

Please keep us informed of your progress. I just used one of the numbers above to find out that tey had sent a card and bill to my previous address because they claim that rewards 660 had not updated them before transfering the account, funny because I had received bills at my current address. But they said that my new card was going to be resent. and yes they said I was late but if i paid she would make notes to my account and the dept that handles that would look to see if they can fix the late mark, we shall see. I am very interested to see if you have any luck with the SD Attorney Generals Office. If they need more people to jump on board I am sure you could find some on here.

Today I filed a Complaint with the South Dakota Attorney General's Office. You can do this online!

I receive a statement yesterday 1/26/09, which indicated that I was being charged a late payment charge of $29.00 and furthermore that I was $40.00 past due.
As I understand the Reward660 Visa credit accounts from Dakota State Bank and been transferred to Meta Bank of South Dakota. As a result I feel that they had made an error.

I applied and subsequently issue a Reward660 card and it was received October 16, 2008. Furthermore, I was charged $250.00 to open the account. The day the credit card arrived I was told I would have to pay at least $40.00 to begin using the account. I promptly paid $100.00 and was given authorization to begin using my account. I promptly made payment in Novermber and December. On December 5, 2008 I called Reward660 Card Services at [protected] to verify that they had received my payment of $49.10. At which time the lady I spoke to informed me that the Reward660 account had been sold to Meta Bank and that I should be receiving a letter and a new card in just a few days. I asked her if the program would be the same and she stated that all features of the card would remain the same. Having heard nothing by December 16, 2008 I tried calling the Reward660 Card Services again and was directed to call [protected]. Upon calling this number I was directed to call [protected] which asked me to enter my account number. I entered the Reward660 account number and was told that the account number was not valid. I then tried to see if there was access online to my account and nothing was available.

Yesterday, I received this statement with no relevant information to me as to whom or what this account was for. I immediately called the contact number at the bottom of the page and was told that my account was past due and that they would waive the late payment charge if I would pay a total of $80.00 by phone. I then asked the lady what this was for and she informed me that it was for a credit card issue by Meta Bank. I tried to explain to the lady that I never received an email, letter, credit card or anything from them about the account and that I should not have to pay the late charge and furthermore be forced to pay $80.00 immediately. She asked me to hold on while she transferred me to her supervisor. I then tried to explain my reasons for my position but this lady named Kim would only tell me that I owed the debt and it was not her position to give me any credit. I again tried to reason with her but she would not shut up long enough and certainly further exacerbated the situation by not listening. Since she was not willing to listen or even allow me the opportunity to talk with her supervisor I hung up the phone and called back. I entered the account information and when connected to a customer service operator I asked the lady to once again transfer me to her supervisor after a period of about 30 seconds I was immediately hung up on. I called two more times with the same result.

My statement shows that I have no credit line and no available credit even though my credit line with Reward 660 was $300.00 an was current as of my call on December 5th. This being the case I have concluded that they never sent any correspondence prior to this statement and furthermore you never intended to issue a credit card. Therefore, I am requesting that they close the account refund or credit the entire startup fee of $250.00 and correct any entries made to the credit bureau thru the SD Attorney General's Office.

I don't know about you guys, but I got a new card in the mail. It was not marked rewards 660 . At first I thought it was a reward 660. Upon a closer look it was a card I had never requested, I thought. I had got a paper from rewards 660 a while back about transfering the balance to a new card with different terms through another bank. Just as some one else mentioned above. I signed it, sent it back, and was expecting to recieve some type of new card with a paper attached refering to this switch from the reward 660 card letting me know this is the new version. This was the only card I have requested from anyone in the past 12 months so it was not a mix up on my end. So the new card I got was marked www.netspend.com. It had a call to activate sticker on it. So, nothing on this card or any papers that joined this card said anything reguarding reward 660. From reading this blog I learned about the Meta bank connection to reward 660. So, I had a suspicion about said card, and I went to the activation site netspend.com. I scrolled down and read the fine print and bam there was that name again MetaBank. So, is this the new reward 660 card? I only ask because there was no balance statement with the card and I did have a remaining balance. However, everything that came with the card made this seem like a prepaid reloadable debit card with no balance. The card says debit card. Should I activate it. Or is this another scam attempt? Please let me know what you guys think. Thanks . Also did any of you recieve this too?

I finally spoke to someone and the lady w/whoever the accounts have been transferred to had no clue. The balance on my card was mainly all the fees they charged you so I am not happy. I asked what my balance was and it was less than what I had before and as everyone knows we have been unable to use our cards so that made no sense. Plus she said that on the 9th of December I made a $50 payment at which time I told her that I just received their number today and still do not know who they are so how could I have called and made a payment? I then let her know that any banking information Rewards660 had was authorized for them to use but not Metabank or whoever they are and that no funds should be debited from my account until I am made aware of all information regarding this company, any balances, fees, or cards and at that time I will give them payment information but until then any debits from my account would be considered illegal she then laughed at me and said okay sure. I asked her if she noted my account and she said oh sure like I was crazy I then asked to speak to a manager because i knew i was getting no where so she hung up on me. I am watching my account so everyone you might want to watch out for this. Good luck!

I called the number again and spoke with a CSR this time. I may have called after business hours and that may be why I couldn't get a hold of anyone. I was told that they received my payment and applied it to the new card. My new card went out on the 10th and I should get the card in 7-10 business days from then. They also stated that now there are no annual fees, and that the monthy fee was lowered as well (depending on your account) varies from $5-10 as opposed to $10-15.

She didn't know if the due date or the minimum payments were going to be the same, but the APR is the same as well.

I don't know what hs happened. Rewards660 was good to me, raid my limits, all payments in on time and recorded. But on this time of my payments, I placed two (2) money orders together in the same envelope with all information on them even account numbers. They sure found the lower payment of $50 and placed it in my account but the larger payment in a separate money order, well it disappeared. And that was large amount as I pa my credit card off every month. I called them and the reaction as that they really didn't care of the missing larger money order. So new comers, beware of these guys as they can not handle the payments worth nothing. They sucker you and stea rom you later. I will have a tracer put on this money order and when it cmesbc that they cashed it in, I am done with them. They are nothing but liars and thieves.
