Repair Tech No response, their phones are not working

I had to send my camera off for repair August of 2008. I sent my camera to the wrong place. My falt. I understand that. But, whenwe finnally figures out what I did. I talkedt o Mordy who transfered me to nicole. NIcole gave me two options. One was to get the camera sent back to me the other was to pay for the reapirs myself and email her te reciept and the will reemberss me. I paid for it with my credit card amd emailed her the reciept. By this time it was September Almost October. She said it would take 9-12 weeks. So in January I recontacted mordy by eamil at repair tech and he said he would get accounting to send me a new check and it would be two weeks. Beverly from accounting contacted me through email to make sure my information was correct. The only info that was right was my first and Last name. My address and phone nember was all wrong. So I emailed her back with the right information. I have yet to hear from her. I have emailed her a couple of times. Still no response. Their phones are not working.

For those you who are also looking for information on this company, I have a glimmer of hope for you! I learned today that Repair Tech has been taken over by a company called Southern Photo. Their phone number is [protected] and they should honor your warranties!

These guys are scams. They do not respond to warranty issues. I have purchased an extended warranty for a Sony 60" TV and when you call they now give a number that is not in service.

Repair Tech Extended Warranty

I purchased a 5 year warranty from RepairTech two years ago. My Samsung LCD is now having issues. I just pulled out my warranty paperwork to try to get a hold of RepairTech and the phone numbers are not in service and the website no longer exists. What am I supposed to do?

Look at your paperwork for the Insurance Company that underwrote the policy. They're liable. If there is none, who was the retailer? Otherwise, if the policy was not insured, unfortunately, you're out of luck.

Repair Tech Purchase warranty cannot reach

On March 31, 2008 I bought a Samsung 46" LCD TV from Abe's of Maine and purchased an extended warranty for 3 years at an additional cost of $215.00 for in house service. I called on October 5, 2009 as I am having a problem with the TV and was told that my extended warranty is no longer good as RepairTech has closed and that there is a class action against them. I would like to be included in this class action. I can be reached by email. [protected]@gmail.com

It seems I am in the same boat as many other people here. I purchased a 3 year protection plan for a Nikon D80. I experienced no issues with the camera; however I've recently decided to sell it. I wanted to contact repair tech in order to figure out if/how I would be able to transfer my plan. I called two service numbers, neither of which was valid. Their...

Repair Tech Reneged on extended warranty

A little over 1 year ago, I purchased a SONY digital camera from Foto Connection of Brooklyn, NY. The order was for about $1, 600.00. They recommended a 5-year extended warranty by RepairTech and I purchased it for $300.00
Now, the camera malfunctioned and I tried contacting RepairTech. An answering machine message indicated that, as of June 1, 2008, all prior warranties would not be honored.
Foto Connection, who sold me the warranty, appeared aware of the problem and advised suing RepairTech in small claims court, at the same time suggesting that RepairTech was no longer in business.
Both companies appear complicit in fraud. I am angry because I was "taken".
Any advice?

Repair Tech Repair Tech won't honor warranty

I purchased a Sony A100 DSLR from Wisetronics.com. They really pushed the need for me to purchase an extended warranty for my camera. I was told that there was a local company that could service my camera if I had any issues. Well, my Sony camera started having some electronic problems. Some of the buttons would not work and the auto-focus stopped working. When I called RepairTech, they told me that I had to send my camera out of state to Precision Camera. After two weeks, my camera still had not gone into 'repair' status. I called Precision Camera and they told me that Repair Tech had not authorized and paid for the repair. Over the course of the next several weeks, Repair Tech kept telling that due to a 'glitch' in their system, the repair was not authorized, but the issue would be resolved in 2 to 3 business days. It never was resolved. I left messages for supervisors, but calls were ever returned. I complained to Precision Camera, but they said that there was nothing they could do. They said that I could pay for the repairs myself and then go after Repair Tech for reimbursement or I could PAY them a $25 refusal fee to return my camera. The whole thing reeks of scam. My camera was essentially held hostage by Precision Camera. I felt that they should have fixed my camera and they should go after Repair Tech for payment. It's a no win situation. If you ever buy an extended warranty, be sure to ask who the warranty provider is. If a company is trying to sell you a warranty serviced by Repair Tech, choose another company to buy your product from.

I too had the same run around experience and repair tech said that precision camera has not received an authorization from repair tech to fix my panasonic digital camera -extended warranty. I could pay $120 dollars and try to get reimbursed. This is truly a fraudulent run around and I want to get what I paid for.
There must be other legal remedies, and after spending about 5 hours going from one person to the other I am MAD AS HELL and will continue this until I get my camera fixed. Anyone else have this problem, contact me and we can get some legal action going.

Repair Tech Extended Service Contract

I purchased a 3 year warranty on my Nikon Cool Pix 7600 Camera from Repair Tech. The company should rename themselves Rip-off Tech. The battry door clip broke (as many of them do come to find out) and I sent it to their 'authorised dealer' Precision Camera (no precision at tis company). Precision said the camera had "physical damage" which is not covered under the warranty as they say. The camera was not dropped or immersed in any fluid. The latch broke from normal wear which is suppose to be covered by the Extended Service Contract. They refuse to repair under warranty and if you call the calls are forwarded to a voice mailbox in which no one has returned my call (left over 15 messages). Precisin said the repairs would be $145 including labor and parts. I purchased a new camera for the same cost which is better than the Nikon. DON"T BUY THESE WARRANTIES. TEHY ARE A RIP-OFF!
