Renaissance Custom Homes Inc
5709 Tierra Viva Pl NW
Albuquerque, NE 87107

Our trouble started ever since we hired Renaissance custom homes Albuquerque, we saw a house that we liked from the look of it and called the number and met the builder Gary Padilla, we thought he was the main person who is going to built our dream home, we went on line and gather all sort of construction and home pic to show him what we wanted in our new home to have, he gladly agreed to every thing and said he is very selective and only works for few people and he is not there for the money and we believed him.

we had may be 3 meetings at his house and we talked about the contract and stuff, any way house started getting built,

first stage we had concrete poured but next day it was full of cracked we showed our concern especially since we paid extra $ 3000 for rebar process so we didntt get cracks on concrter slab and mind that Gary is the one who recommended us to pay extra for rebar so concrete slab will be crack free, at that time he said it would be taken care of at the end of the construction but now he refuse to do any thing for this.

second step the lumber process, we ordered 8 feet door but the house frame was for 6.8 feet so we called several times to inform Gary and no answer, after several months of this agonizing time during the construction process we found out Gary Padilla is a second hand car salesman and this builder buissiness is only his side activity to make extra money, if we knew that we would have gone to some one who does building house for living and have some experience. At this point we should have fired the builder from his job but we thought we were too much in it and wanted to just get over this.

they hired subcontractor who did not speak english and not sure if any one had any legal status to even work in USA, we could not communicate with the subcontractors if we see any thing going in wrong direction with the construction and to make thing worse we could not get hold of any body from our builder, we had to check on our house every day to see what happening and check on thing knowing that we paid builder $95000 to manage construction of our house.

they hired cleaning crew to clean our house and now all the windows are scrached up and house need more money to fix it up then we can afford.

we still have alot of things need fixing, we have still to see any recipts for thing he paid for, we got loan for more then 700 thousand for the house seems like most of the money went some where else but our house, we are seeking some legal help also and process of moving to dream home has changed to a horror story...

now it is passed a year and our house still not ready and we have to get out of this apartment we live in.

All this trouble just because we did not research much before we hired our builder to built our dream home...

I hope with this notice some people can learn and do things differently and be safe and find some one compatable.

God Bless us all

Did you consider taking your case to the AG or the state?

Oscar R. Muniz who is/was an unlicensed contractor worked for Renaissance builder, and this guy is crook. He built houses using other builders' licenses on the side while working for Gary and promised quality work. He fell on his promises and stole thousands of dollars from many families and his employer. This guy along with a another builder were sued and a default judgement against Oscar Muniz of over 600, 000 was awarded to owners of one house. The case is under Richard Ayala if you want to check it out. Not sure why it is not under this crook but there are many other complaints against him. I would definitely not trust any work this scam artist promises. Do not let this crook get away with more of your money. I bet the people who were awarded will never see a penny. This guy needs to be thrown in jail.

We chose Gary and Oscar to build our home. We trusted them enough to close on our house before they were finished. They delivered on every promise and never ever charged us for any extras, that we did not ask for. In fact they added extras because they felt the house needed it. They take pride in their work and the subs they use are outstanding, their cabinet person does excellent work and the tile crew lead by Hector were outstanding. I cannot imagine anyone having issues. Thank you Oscar and Gary for keeping all your promises, going above and beyond to build us a beautiful home. I feel bad for whomever had a bad experience, but it was not us. They were excellent and continue to be excellent taking care of minor things even today. thank you again!, ,

Randy

I have seen with my own two eyes the greed and corruption that consumes Gary Padilla. He will tell you everything you want to hear to get your money. And in doing so, will also laugh and tell you he doesn't need the money. Gary Padilla is a phony in every aspect of his life. I hope you don't have to find out the hard way. The hardships people face in a Renaissance home are all too true. Compromised construction, no follow up, and no answer when problems arise. Sure, the house will probably hol?d up for the year warranty. Good luck getting everything you were promised in the beginning. You get what you pay for, as they say. Don't risk it with your home. Maybe buy something alittle less risky from Gary Padilla. Like a cheap used car! And that's a whole other story...

I feel for the home owners but you should know, after extensive research I hired RENAISSANCE CUSTOM HOMES to build my home. True Gary is the sales part of the operation and the Muniz brothers are in charge of the acutal construction. I have nothing but praise for the work they have done, all on time and without one change order. I have kept in constant communtication with the builders and visit the site up to four times a day. Luckily, through college I was able to work in the construction industry. This along with a circle of friends who do work in home building, Stillbrook Homes, I feel I received much more than my home than I am paying for. I would not just go blindly into a home contract without research, and understand the process. Go anywhere in the city, either commercial or residential builders and the people performing the work are usually hispanic/latino. You live in the southwest and that is the labor force that is performing these jobs. Feel free to post on this site and I can show you my home.
Happy bHome Owner

First off I'd like to state that I now have a headache from trying to read that disaster of a post butchering the English language. The complainant has the audacity to talk about workers who don't speak English and they come on a public forum and type out that slandering monstrosity that's in comprehensible?

As far as the repairs and fixes go, I can not speak for the builder but I'm sure the builder would fix them as there was probably a warranty period and by law will have to abide.

Most of the complaints you are ranting about are normal everyday home building issues that happen. The reason you do not hear about them is because the homeowners don't see them, they get fixed, or the home owner never see them and they get masked. You could hire the #1 builder in the state and experience some of the same issues.

This person obviously does not understand how home building works. EVERYTHING is subcontracted out. Even the large home builders like KB Homes, Pulte, Cyntex, ALL sub contract their work. This is even more prevalent in building a custom home. Most builders do not even allow you on site while you home is begin built and talking to the workers is a no no also.

I'm no attorney, but you said your seeking legal counsel. The first thing your attorney is going to tell you is to remove any of these negative slandering postings you have been planting all over the internet. They are going to come back to haunt you during your process before everything can be proven otherwise. This I can guarantee you. You obviously posted out of passion and not intelligence.

I viewed some of those homes on their very nice website and, wow! Those are beautiful homes. I definitely couldn't afford any of them, but I sure would let them build my house.

Just my 2 cents.

Don't Believe Everything You Read!

Renaissance Custom Homes, Inc. has built beautiful custom homes for my friends. Their quality and caftmanship is second to none on top of which the value you cannot beat. The prices on these homes are unbeatable. Gary Padilla, along with Oscar Muniz, Raul Muniz and his team get the job done! They go above and beyond the call of duty. When I build my next home be asured that they will be building it. I encourage you to do your reaserach and look at the website renaissancecustomhomes.net and see how many beautiful homes have been built and are being built. Shop and campare you will not find a better deal with the quality they offer.

God Bless
Theresa

WARNING!

I have heard of this company from people around town. The management of this fraudulent company, will take you to the cleaners in every way possible! I know of various families that have been victimized by the managment of this company. It is my understanding that they wait until the very end of the project and deadlines are fastly approaching, to inform you of "new" charges and costs that have been incurred that "they" say you owe but yet they are unable to account for any of the costs. In making your decision to use a certain builder make certain that you research thoroughly their back grounds and past performance.

I am glad to see someone is trying to unveil some of the crooks laying around in our society but on the other hand my heart goes for you to go through such a tough time just because you wanted to build a home for yourself. I just checked the website of this builder and read what they said about themselves and what they are about and can't stop laughing at the lies they put there and post all the arrogant words about themselves, words are just words unless they have meaning.
I wish we all can raise our voice against vultures like this builder and put them in prison for life.
thanks
Monica
