Remit2India worst service and not following procedure and their own terms

I initiated the transfer 2 days ago and I specified the time to call (according to them IST) for KYC. They have called me at odd times when I'm not around. They never called me at the time I specified. I have emailed them around 10 times. I checked their website to chat. but chat doesn't work. The url is broken. Their toll free number does not work. It never rings and I have never got a proper response for my emails. I need to send money urgently. I was an ICICI customer and wanted to give this a shot, but I have shot myself in the foot by doing this. The transaction is still pending and I haven't heard anything. I'm this close to filling a lawsuit against them as I have reviewed all their terms and conditions and they haven't complied to anything till date.

I'm now having the same experience. They put my transaction on hold claiming that verification is required, received a call form their officer for a successful verification, but my online access prompted the transaction is closed due to no reason? WTH!

I agree with above complaint. I have experience bitterness of this service. It takes 7 days to do KYC approval with all the personal details. Why do you need more than needed information while Western Union or others don't need such information. You take required info about SSN and DOB even that is painful to release. In addition you need more personal details in KYC. This is a scam. Couldn't justify PMLA act for sending small amount of money as a gift. (Not for investment).

Remit2India worst remittance ever

I transferred $25000 from remit to India and the told me the rate of 3rd business day would be applied to the transaction, but they took 7 days to get the money transferred and amongst those days on the day when the rate was lowest the used that day and exchange rate to transfer my money. I contacted many times to their representatives and finally I went to the manager, he went through the telephonic conversation I had with them their representative had clearly mentioned that rate of 3 day would be applied, but nothing happened and I ended up loosing Rs30000 because of these people.
They just attract people by showing high rates but once it comes to transfer the use the minimum transfer rate of the day.
THE WORST EVERY REMMITANCE SERVICE.

It took a month as the normal representatives wont be able to help and it becomes frustating after a while and neither they will accept their fault. I was not able to find out what to do next. Moreover, I was adamant to get it done right and finally raised my issue to senior officers of the company, who helped me to get my issue resolved. Once I brought the concern in front of there escalation team and higher management I was helped.
All well that ends well!
Appreciate the support of top management to get it done and hope nobody faces this kind of issue again. Thanks for taking action.

Your service is horrible, you guys just play with people hardworking money. Dont you guys have common sense in how a person earning, living away from his home send money and how it feels when it takes weeks to reach that money home. Go and ask your parents they will tell you. Its been 4 days I have made this transaction and till date there is no sign of you guys for a call, shame on you guys, I will never use this service again. I transfered money when the rate was high and today rate went down 60 paisay who is going to pay for it and by the time it goes down further you will send money...this is your trick to get customers, show them good rates and once they do you dont process. SHAME ON YOU

Remit2India referral bonus

Dont go by their advert, they have pathetic service. Plus they dont offer as per their advert. They promise Money on Referrals which is never given. They try to fool customers into making money transfer and after the transfer is done they go into hiding. They make excuses to give the promised referal bonus. Their website is as pathetic as their service. I dont recommend Remit 2 India for any foreign exchange transfer and the exchange rates offered are also not transparent.

Remit2India cheating of customers

Seriously, dont use remit2india for money transfer. The money gets transferred but they have their own method of cheating customers.

1. They skillfully hide the fees they charge you for the service.

2. You never never never ever get the rate they display on their website. Resist your temptation at their nice exchange rates. I have transferred more than 10 times. Every time before transferrring, I browse other website and compare remit2india with those, and find out that remit2india has the best exchange rate. What remit2india does is they will keep your money and transfer on the day when it is lowest in the week. They cheat you massively this way.

3. Customer service is stinkingly, horribly horrible. They are thick skinned nasty people. Guys like abhijeet, dhiraj ghorpade, a[censored]a raju are experts in this game of cheating. They are best when you want to talk about momey transfer or starting an account. If you have a trouble and you want help from them, they will frustrate you until you rip off your hair. I can speak hours on my tragic experiences, but this website should not be spoilt with my abuses.

4. It look like times group is a group of unethical business persons who will cheat consumers and go any length to make profits.

Spread this message everywhere so that we people can save each other from these thugs

Yes I do have the same experience. my money has been debited from the account however it was not credited to India account. When called to customer care, ask me to send an email. For everything they wanted have email, then why are they having customer care.

It's almost 17 days now and still I have not received my money in India account. Please do not trasfer fund using remit2india.com site. They are well educated professional cheaters. Even if you buy try to by anything from IndiaTimes website, your transaction will get failed due to some issue, even though your credit care will be charged and you have to put your fit down to get your money back for failed trasctions.

Remit2India scam

Dont use Remit2India for money transfer. I have transferred more than 10 times. The money gets transferred everytime, so I have no complaints on that. I am complaing at their method of surreptitiously cheating customers.

1. they are not a free service. they charge money for every transfer ex Rs75, Rs 100 etc depending on the dollar amount. They do not mention this clearly while you are doing the transfer. if they were not cheaters they should mention it before "confirming" the transfer. for example amazon or others will clearlu mention, your price is $XXX, Tax is $YYY, Shipping is $ZZZ. If remit2india clearly mentioned this during the transfer process, I will take this allegation back.

2. resist your temptation at their nice exchange rates ebcause it is not what you will actually get. i have transferred more than 10 times. everytime before transferrring, i browse other website and compare remit2india with those, and find out that remit2india has the best exchange rate, and everytime i fall prey to that greed. what remit2india does is they will keep your money and transfer on the day when it is lower, or lowest in the week. just by exploiting me, i have calculated that they have cheated more than Rs 10, 000 if I consider all transactions.

3. customer service is horribly horrible. they are best when you want to talk about momey transfer or starting an account. if you have a trouble and you want help from them, they will frustrate you until you rip off your hair. i can speak hours on my tragic experiences, but this website should not be spoilt with my abuses.

4. I had once won a Sweepstake in their website, and never got it.

5. I and my friend had won a Rs250 gift voucher that they claimed could be redeemed in their website, but the website was not working and somehow both of us could never redeem the voucher.

6. TimesofMoney is the parent company and I infer that times group is a group of unethical business persons who will cheat consumers and go any length to make profits.

Remit2India repeated marketting calls and blank calls

I have an account with the company and used them a couple of times to transfer money. But if I don't transfer money for few weeks, they start calling my cell phone to tell me about how great their service is. The calls come from the same number so I have stopped picking them. But it is annoying because they keep calling up to three four times a day every week.

When I contacted their customer service, they told me my number was removed from the database. But I still receive their calls. Unsolicited calls on cell phones are not allowed but this company is not in US so I don't what are my options here.

Here is a solution to all those poor souls who are getting battered by the cold calls from stupid a$$ holes at Remit 2 India- Go to your profile and change your phone number to a junk number and let these idiots have fun making the call to nowhere! I tried it and its working well...apparently the a$$ holes at Remit 2 India are asked to call the customers who have not used their services for some time.

Remit2India bad website, bad cust service

The website is very hard to navigate... Very very frustrating trying to save, edit bank acc info.
The company has no customer service contact number! You can only call them if you want to initiate a new transfer. For complaints and other requests you have to sue email.
I did that.. And found out that when they say they will get back to you in 48 hrs... It means, 2 weeks!
I am so disappointed with their response time, i'm never using them again.

Remit2India secure information misuse

Hi,
I have an account with remit2india for about a year. I have made 2 transactions since I opened the account, the latest a week back. two days after the transaction, My account was blocked. No response to an email I sent to customer service. On calling them, They say, I am supposed to provide a scanned copy of my social security no! No -where on their website or email do they give in writing about this, and what use is my ss.no, to those in India? They gave me no clear answers in the 30 mins talk I did, and just said it was required?
I said how can I trust them, when ever week I get random calls on my cell no, from the guys at remit to india promoting some offer, and when I asked them on one such call, why did they not email me about their offers, they said : emails cannot be trusted! in fact he even went ahead to give me the password of my email account! I immediately got the settings changed! and THEY NOW WANT TO TRUST ME WITH OTHER SECURE INFORMATION. DO THEY THINK THEY WE ARE DUMB!

I agree with you 100%. The same thing happened to me. They take your SSN, they ask for your salary and position. How is your salary and designation related to money transfer. They threatened to stop my transaction if information is not provided. These guys are CHEATS. Since I did not do the online confirmation (they credit cents to back and I'm supposed to say how many cents it is on their site), they locked my account. Now I can't even edit my profile (meaning they will not delete my SSN and other details). They say they are following RBI guidelines but when I requested for those guidelines they said that it is internal policy to not share it.

Remit2India fraud

Remit2India is a fraud company, which though show higher conversion price in its site as compared to other money transferred company but do not give the same rate.

I have checked with my two transaction that i had with Remit2India, I continuously watched all 5 days of transaction period for the conversion rate but i got less conversion rate than they claim to be on third day of transaction.

This is my advice not to go with this site since they are making public fool by showing higher rate but the actual rate is always less than they claim.

Hi Friends,

Remit2india is full of fraud site. They are cheating people, totally cheating portal to send money to India. I strongly hate remit2india portal, the always help people to book a transaction and once you book the transaction that it. their job overs, they wont respond to your mail.

Exchange rate they offer is totally cheat. Recently i booked one transaction they gave 1 rupee difference rate with market value. And then not to use remit 2 india again one person called and he promissed to monitor the transaction, i believe his words and i book another transaction and i gave refference to sales person, they was esponding to my mail until i book the transcation, after remitted from my us bank there is no response, even if i called there is no reply. And i got 1 rupee difference rupee rate with market value.

My dear friend my strong advice is not to use remit2india. SBI is the best site to use.

I agree with this comment and Remit 2india is a fraud company. Today i book the transaction and somehow i entered wrong amount and want to cancel the transaction. Previously they allowed to cancel online and now they took it out. During my call with customer service they ask me to send mail seperately. It is my money and it is up to me when and how i should send. Avoid Remit2india, they are fraud.

Remit2India smart cheaters

Hi everyone,
Kindly be aware when u transfer money to india through remit 2india as they are the smartest cheaters u can ever come across. Why are they smart? becoz they never transfer your money at the best exchange rate on a given day. They hold money untill the forex is at its lowest(Forex changes thrice on a given day) and then immediately transfer once the forex falls. So, remit2india makes very good money from ur hard earned money by exchanging the rate for themselves when the forex is high and giving the money to you when the forex is lowest. The difference in the highest and lowest forex is their PROFIT. ( if 1000 people transfer $1000 each on a single day they make profit to the extent of...just imagine a difference of 0.50 paise)
So, whats the best way? Look for citi bank or icici. Atleast they do not make false promises.
Just wondering their smartness in cheating people. If u still want to go ahead i shall wait for your response after a couple of transactions.

PERSONAL INFORMATION at RISK

I usually use Western Union but they cap at $5000 so used Remit2India. Nutshell, transferred money by bank and completed a Remit2India transaction. Money gets instantly deducted from bank account. Great!

3 hours later, received two emails to submit my tax statement and bank statement. I wasn’t asking for a mortgage loan, just wanted to send money. I sent the same amount of money to India via Western Union but such information is never asked. Reluctantly sent the documents as money was required home for an emergency.

Tax statements and bank statements are like scanning in your SSN id or passport. I would have been fine if it was clearly mentioned, but it says KYC (know your customers) and you fill in more work details and complete transaction. At no stage they mention that x amount of dollars, so and so documents are required.

Now worried and spending time on Personal Informalities Data Storage policies aka Privacy Policy. Never again.

When I booked transaction with remit2india (customer id : 2666522)transfer rate USD to INR was showing as 74.1 INR, so I was little impressed with rate as it was 10-15 paisa higher than others.
So chosen remit2india.
I socked see that they transferred money to India account with rate of 73.1 after deducting money from my USA account. Many time I have taken follow-up, but they didn't resolve this issue and didn't return me the difference amount. remit2india seems a big cheater they showing some thing on webpage but given some thing else.
I am in USA from long time and using other remittance house but never faced such issue.

They are only showing higher rate on website just for interacting the customers, but actually they are giving lessor rate than others. This the another way of making fool to customers.
Be should away from such cheaters !

No NO to Remit2india

Never try them. This is a no no.
Real torture.

Pls read my experience
I have tried sending money thru them(amount was slightly big), they asked for verification.

First asked what is the purpose.
What is the relation with the receiver.
Then it is finished. I checked what is the status, they said it will be ok. After some time they send an email stating they want 3 months account snap shot, (remember no phone calls only emails, that is the kind of respect they give to our money) which I was reluctant to give in first place.
However as I had no choice I need to rely on them as money need to be reached by day 3. So I send the statement as I receive from the online view page. Even after sending I was checking anything else they need or not. They dont say anything, all saying it will thru soon.
Next day they send email My name was not appearing in anywhere.
Remember each time I am checking with them they say It is different department as they cant view and say.

Day1 Morning I initiated the transaction, evening I send the statement, Day2 I called them number of times. They did not say any word anything is missing all they are saying was it will be updated in the system. I have explained over phone I am sending money from my salary to a salaried individual in india, it is completely genuine. Even they telephoned the receiver and verified what is the purpose and relation. They think we are all thieves.

Nothing happened and on Day3 afternoon when I checked with them stated it is again rejected stating my account number is not appearing in the statement.
I was really shocked, about the knowledge of the personnel who is verifying this.
1. Account number was clearly visible.
2. If account number was missing why didn't they inform in the first place. Then I realised they are trying to screw me.

I challenged this and I was about to cancell the transaction. They realized there is fault at their end. in few minutes they cleared the verification.

I would not recommend this to anyone in future neither do I use this service. Now I need to find another source to send money to india. Terrible experience and hopeless service.

Do you think I should recommend these people to any of my friends?

Dont do any transaction with Remit2India. They are the real frauds in the market. There is no guarantee for your money and they wont give you any receipt. When I asked for receipt after the transaction the contact center staff told me that they wont give that and if we need that we need to keep the screen shot as the reference.
Please don't expect any support or information from their contact center as they are having a team working there who doesn't have any knowledge.
They will guarantee you instant credit (Upto One Lakh Rupee) and it may happen only for small amount like 100-500$. If you are sending more than that they will hold it and process only when the rate is favorable for them.
Please avoid this day light cheaters and save your hard earned money.

I booked this transaction on 10th Oct. The indicative rate was 53.40. Today after 12 days I got money in my Indian account. on top of that they haven't given me rate anywhere close to what was "indicative". I got rate of 52.92. Considering fees and service charges I just got 52.98 I was tracking their site everyday and it never display this rate in these 12 days.

This is fraud and unethical company please stay away from it.

Yes, Remit2india is worst way to send money to India.
They hold your money until the exchange rate drops and they tell you excuses like
"You have not made any remit transactions recently that is the reason for the delay."
They held my transaction nearly 3 weeks and transferred funds when the rate dropped from 55.36 + bonus 5 paisa to 53.13.
When you call customer service they put you on hold for long time. It is a frustrating experience for me also.

Remit2india is worst way to send money india. don't need to write much, whoever above mentioned in response is 100% correct, its a frustrating experience for me who is currently following up with their support teams who only best in providing expert EXCUSES that too change as the discussion goes. they trained their employees good for negotiating with customers and making them fool.

I agree because I had the same experience where I got less than what I was shown during the transaction and I shopped around and now uses Federal Bank transfer and its peace of mind and savings with best transaction rates. Best services. Now a days try to use the banks directly.

Remit2India bad business practice

Hi,

I put a transfer of $20, 000 USD on 25-Jun-2007 19:53 IST( That's my 0-day). As per there Remittance recipt it says -

DAY-1 - Remit2India uploads the transaction if you have booked the transaction before 12:00 A.M IST, else this will be uploaded the next day.

DAY-3/4 - Remit2India converts the remittance amount into INR.

DAY-3/4 - Remit2India will initiate the amount. In case you have selected Demand Draft as the delivery mode, Bluedart ...blah ..blah

So I called the person at Remit2india and asked them when my money gets converted from USD to Dollar and they said they cannot open the details. Latter I made sure that it gets converted either at 30-Jun-2008 or 1-JUL-2008.

I check the rates on there website and it was listed 1USD=RS 42.72 and I GOT THE CONVERSION RATE 1USD= RS 42.46.

Second thing, one fine day it shows that Money got transferred as a status on the Website and very next day it shows the Money got rejected due to Error in Account Details.

NOTE :- I checked the account details and they are fine.

I am not sure how can they show this kind of ERROR...

I tried to get the Call them ( 1-866-TO-REMIT) but didn't work / email, but no LUCK...

I am wasting my time figuring out what went wrong, secondly, Money to the Party didn't went on time and thrid loss of RS 5000/-. due to transactions.

I am not sure what to do and how to take up this case and file a Complaints against this folks.

Remit2India remit2india cheating customers!

This is an experience I wanted to share with a broader community about the ripoff I had when transferring some funds overseas using Remit2India service whose funds transferrer is Citibank. These companies have been taking customers for granted and fooling them with advertising false exchange rates and transferring money at much lower rate than advertised on the website. I transferred $2001 using their service to my NRE account in India on 8th November. However the funds got converted on 13Nov and they have transferred the money @34.38 when it was advertised on the Net @ 35.16.

Upon following this with their team they accepted the mistake over the phone but sent a email telling that they wont transfer the balance. This is just a rip off of innocent customers who falls prey to fraudulent companies like this. I would not recommend Remit2India service to anyone and I would be taking up legal actions against this company so that it doesn't trap any other customers with their false advertisement.

They take Australian customers for granted and don't provide customer service. I have been reading loads of complaints about this company online and its time that some action needs to be taken. I would strongly recommend ICICI Bank's Money to india service as they don't rip off customers like this and provide a much better level of service.

DON'T SEND MONEY OVERSEAS USING www.remit2india.com because next time you wouldn't even know if your money would reach to your loved ones. This company does nothing else except for promising to give better exchange rates and advertise cr*p on their website.

I have not received referral bonus from remit2india. Every week they just send an email telling we are looking into your case and will get back to you earliest. This has been going for 2 months.

Similar situation with my last four transactions. On my last transaction they have paid me with 61.45/dollar but the conversion rate on the website is 61.74/Dollar. This is cheating.

Remit2India - stay away from this company!

Hi everyone, I initiated a transfer of $12,000. and since I was transferring such huge amount they promised me to give a better rate. The rate they actually gave me was much less then what ICICI would give for 5000$ and they told me there would be no fees. Instead they charged me $15+Rs200. They also promised me a bonus, but leave bonus of Rs 250, they...

Remit2India - customer cheating!

I have used remit2india.com to send money to India. They says that the rate will be applied as per the exchange rate of the day your funds are converted. They are cheating the customer. They are not disclosing what rate they have applied to your fund. Nor they keep the old rate on their site. What they basically doing is converting your fund on the le...
